Kayla nodded when Zacky suggested that they head up to bed. He was right when he said they would need to be rested up for tomorrow, since there really was no telling what they would walk in on when they went to check on Johnny. She walked with Zacky upstairs, climbing into bed and sighing happily as she pulled the covers up to her chin. Now that she'd sat down and relaxed, she was feeling tired and she couldn't wait to curl up to Zacky and fall asleep. "You take entirely long to get into bed," Kayla teased, watching Zacky as he got ready for bed. Once he'd laid down next to her, she immediately cuddled close to him, seeking out his warmth and his comforting smell. "I love you," Kayla said, yawning.
Johnny wasn't exactly sure what time it was when he finally passed out. Save for a little bit that he'd spilled on the floor, he'd managed to drink all three fifths he bought at the liquor store and the little bit left in a bottle he'd found stashed away somewhere. Even given his tolerance, drinking that much so quickly and with nothing on his stomach got him very well past drunk, edging very close to a point he hadn't been to in quite a long time. When he came to the next afternoon, it was only because someone was banging very loudly on his front door. He didn't want to get up, not at all, but the little voice inside his head telling him it might be Ava coming home urged him to his feet. When Johnny saw that it was just Zacky and Kayla, he frowned. "Oh," he said. "It's you."

Zack cringed inwardly at the sight of Johnny. His friend looked like absolute hell. But he breathed a sigh of relief, because when Johnny took too long to answer the door, Zack feared the worst. At least Johnny was alive. That's all that mattered. "Yeah, just us." The guitarist stepped inside the house, shutting the door behind him. It was eerily quiet-- Ava normally had the radio or the television going, something to fill the house with noise. But you could have heard a pin drop right then. Zack fumbled for something to say as he sat down at the kitchen table. What exactly did you say to your best friend who was just left by his wife. "Are you hungry?" He asked almost quietly. Even if Johnny said no, Zack was gonna try and get him to eat something.

    --

Ava woke up a little after ten that morning, frowning slightly when she realized she was not at home and remembered what had happened the previous night. She checked her phone and responded to the few texts she'd gotten during the night before getting out of bed and padding downstairs to the kitchen. The redhead grabbed a cup of greek yogurt and a cup of coffee that had been freshly viewed before joining Val at the kitchen table. She was thankful for the fact that Val didn't ask how she was doing-- Ava didn't need to burst into tears before she'd even eaten her breakfast.

Honestly, the last thing Kayla wanted to do was go and see Johnny. It wasn't that she didn't care about him, but she knew it was going to be a mess. Ava was the only thing holding him together and with her gone, there was no telling how badly he had deteriorated, even after only one night. And not surprisingly, Johnny wasn't too pleased to see the two of them on his doorstep. "You should eat something," Kayla said when Johnny grumbled that he wasn't hungry. She went to the cabinet where she knew Ava kept the food. "Just having alcohol on your stomach is going to make you sick." She shrunk back when Johnny snapped at her, glaring at him before slamming the cabinet shut. She looked over at Zacky. "I'm going to wait in the car," she said, her voice tense. She turned to Johnny. "You're never going to win Ava back if you keep up like this," she said to him. "She deserves better than someone who would rather sit back and let themselves die than get better." Kayla knew that what she said was a little harsh, but Johnny needed to hear it. He was just going to keep falling down this hole if someone didn't talk some sense into him.
If Zacky hadn't walked right in the door, Johnny would've shut it in his face. He didn't want to see anyone today and if Zacky and Kayla hadn't shown up, he could've gone to the liquor store and gotten more alcohol. That was all he wanted, something to numb the pain. To numb everything. "No, I'm not hungry," Johnny grumbled, following after Zacky and Kayla into the kitchen. He clenched his fists when Kayla started to insist. "I said I wasn't fucking hungry," he snapped. He wasn't in the mood to be treated like a child. He knew he had a problem, but even so, at his level of tolerance, it would take more than three fifths to get him sick. Johnny felt his anger boil over when Kayla started to lecture him, feeling like he'd been punched in the gut. Of course what she said was true, just like what he was about to say would likely piss Zacky and Kayla off beyond belief. "You know, I'm tired of you fucking thinking that you're so much better than everyone else because you're sober now," he hissed at Kayla. "Because guess what? You're fucking not. And you know what else? You were a lot more fucking fun when you still did coke. Fucking toss that coin away, maybe you'd be a little more tolerable."

Zack bit his bottom lip and clenched his fists. He knew that it was probably the withdrawal talking, but still it took every once of self restraint to not stand up and knock Johnny the fuck out. "I'll be right out, babe." He leaned up and gave Kayla a kiss before turning his attention back to Johnny. "Look. Your one of my best friends in the world, and I care about you. If I didn't give a fuck about you, I wouldn't be here making sure that you were still fucking ALIVE. But you disrespect Kayla one more time, I'll have no qualms about beating your ass." Zack stood up, still not breaking eye contact with Johnny. "Kayla's right. Ava deserves a whole hell of a lot better than you." He turned around and headed out the door, climbing into the front seat of the car. "I'm sorry you had to go through that." Zack put a hand on Kayla's knee before giving her a kiss.

    --

Ava finished up her breakfast before heading upstairs and changing into a pair of yoga pants and a t-shirt. She threw her hair in a ponytail before slipping on her shoes. Ava grabbed her car keys and headed downstairs, trying to decide where to go. She didn't want to go home, but she didn't want to sit around Matt and Val's house all day. Ava loved her friends, but wanted to go see Kayla right then. Hey, are you home? Would you mind if I came over? I just really wanna see you right now. I can bring food or something.

"Fuck you," Kayla spat at Johnny. She stormed out to the car, wiping at her eyes. Didn't Johnny think she knew she wasn't as fun now that she was sober? Of course she did. She couldn't go out and drink with them, she couldn't stay up all night and do lines with them. She was boring. But she didn't care, because now her life wasn't all about when she could get her next fix. She wasn't stealing from her family to buy coke or overdosing because she thought she was invincible. She was clean and happy. But Johnny's comments still upset Kayla, because a small part of her almost missed the life she used to have. Kayla looked up when Zacky slipped into the car, thankful for his kiss and his comfort. "I wish you would've kicked his ass," she grumbled, reaching for her phone when she felt it vibrate. We're about to head home, but yeah, come on over. I can tell you all about how I want to murder your dumbass husband.
"Yeah, well Kayla deserves better than you too, Zack," Johnny said darkly. "Doing coke in the house when you know she's trying to stay clean? If she started using again, it would be your fault." Johnny stood in the open doorway, watching as Zacky and Kayla pulled out of the driveway. Once they had turned the corner at the end of the block, he went back inside to grab his wallet. Never fucking mind that he was still semi-recovering from the three fifths he'd had last night, never mind that it was this kind of drinking that drove Ava away and made him need to drink this much in the first place, he was going to get more alcohol. It wasn't like anyone gave a damn about him enough to be around him right now, although it was his fault that Zacky and Kayla hadn't stayed. And it would serve them all right if the next time they came to check on him, they found him dead on the floor.

Zack nodded his head. "The guilt he'll feel when he eventually comes down is gonna do that for me." He spoke. "But if he says anything like that again, I won't hesitate to knock him the fuck out." He spoke in a determined tone of voice before starting the car and pulling out of Johnny's driveway. The rest of the car ride home was spent in silence, Zack holding Kayla's hand with his free one. He knew that Johnny's words hurt her more than she let on. Zack also knew that Johnny was right. Kayla deserved a whole hell of a lot better than him. The guitarist sighed gently as he parked in his own driveway, killing the engine. "I'm gonna text Brian and tell him to go check on him later this afternoon. Just cause he's being a fucking asshole right now doesn't mean I wanna see him die... and if we don't keep an eye on him while we figure out a plan to throw his ass into rehab, then that's exactly what's gonna happen.

    --

Get in line... I'm kinda feeling that way too now. Ava put her phone back in her pocket before climbing into the driver's seat and heading toward Kayla and Zack's. She stopped at Starbucks on the way, deciding to get everyone their favorites. The redhead figured from the tone in Kayla's text message that visting Johnny really hadn't gone as planned, so she could use some cheering up. Mercifully the drivethrough was quick, and she was on her way to her best friend's house. Ava's phone weighed heavy in her pocket, and it was taking everything in her to not text her husband and check on him. He needed to know that she meant business this time.

Kayla was silent on the ride home, glad for Zacky's hand in hers. She almost just wanted to curl up next to Zacky on the couch and watch TV all afternoon, but she had too many errands to run. When they finally pulled into their own driveway, Kayla reached down to undo her seatbelt. "Yeah, have Brian check on him because I have to see his face again today, I might knock him out," she grumbled. She reached over to open the door, stopping short and sighing. "You don't think I'm boring, do you, Zack?" Kayla asked. "I mean, all I do is go to my meetings and come home. I know my sobriety is important, but I just feel like Johnny was right. I was a lot more fun when I still did coke." Kayla looked down at her lap, trying not to cry. She felt stupid for letting Johnny get to her like that. She knew being sober was more important than being fun, she just didn't want to lose Zacky because he thought she was boring.
Deciding that it wouldn't be smart to return to the same liquor store he'd gone to last night, Johnny made the longer trek to one a bit further away. It would be a little harder to carry as many bottles as he wanted to get, but he would make it work. Hell, he might not even go home to drink. He might do what he and the guys used to do, find a private little alleyway and pop open the top. Wouldn't that be funny, having everyone panic because they couldn't find him at home? It wasn't like they really gave a fuck about him, anyway. All they did was yell at him. "Fuck them," Johnny mumbled to himself as he hurried out of the liquor store. This time he'd gotten four bottles, one tucked under each arm and one in each hand. He walked down a few blocks before ducking into an alleyway, making sure he was hidden from view before twisting the top off of a bottle.

Zack vehemently shook his head. "Baby, you're not boring at all. Don't listen to a word Johnny says, you know he's just trying to bring everyone down so they hurt like he is right now. So you don't party with us anymore. Boohoo. Your sobriety is the most important thing in the world to you. Don't let anyone take that away from you. You're always so fucking happy when you come back from your meetings. I love seeing you smile like that. So, no, I definitely don't think you're boring." He kissed the top of Kayla's head before getting out of the car and going around to her side, opening the door for her. "C'mon, let's get inside and I can make us something to eat real quick.'

    --

Ava pulled up right behind Zacky and Kayla. She cut the engine and dropped her keys in her purse before leaning over and grabbing the drink carrier out of the passenger seat. "Hey, you guys." She spoke, shutting the door behind her. "I'd give you a hug, but I don't wanna spill these drinks all over the driveway." A light laugh left her lips, and she followed her friends into their home before setting the drinks down on the coffee table. "I got these as a thank you... how was he, by the way?"

Kayla smiled as she listened to Zacky speak. He always had a way of making her feel better when she wanted to give everything up. "You're right," Kayla whispered. She climbed out of the car when Zacky opened her door for her, hearing another door shut after she'd closed hers. "Oh hey," she said, smiling when she saw Ava. "Come on inside." The three of them walked inside, Kayla shutting and locking the front door behind them. She thanked Ava as she took a coffee from her, leaning against the counter as she took a sip. When Ava asked about Johnny, Kayla sighed. "He's an asshole, that's how he is," she grumbled. "He got pissy when I told him that you deserved better, so he told me I was boring and that I would be more interesting if I started using coke again."
Johnny didn't know when he passed out in the alleyway, all he knew was that whoever the hell was nudging him needed to knock it off. "Fuck, what the hell do you want?" Johnny growled, finally relenting and opening his eyes. And lo and behold, standing in front of him was a police officer who looked none too happy to be finding a drunk in an alleyway. As if this day couldn't get any worse. As he was loaded into the back of the police cruiser, Johnny wondered if he should even bother calling Ava to let her know he was being arrested. She hadn't cared enough to even text him since she left yesterday, so why should he bother? Let her think he was dead in a gutter somewhere.

Ava cringed with secondhand embarrassment at her husband's actions. "I'm so, so sorry. You and I both know that's a crock of shit. You've gotten like ten times more fun since you've gotten sober-- trust me." The redhead took a sip of her caramel apple spice before setting it back down on the counter. When Zacky mentioned having Brian go check on him that afternoon, she nodded her head in approval. "That sounds like a good idea. I don't know if I can go back there just yet. I texted him last night when I got to Matt and Val's to let him know I was safe, he read it, and that was pretty much it." She took a seat at the kitchen table and sighed softly. "Thank you, by the way. I appreciate you guys doing that for me."

    --

Zack took his caramel macchiato from Ava and thanked her before taking a sip. He couldn't help the fact that his anger flared up at the mention of how Johnny had disrespected Kayla. The guitarist knew it wasn't the real Johnny talking, but it still angered him to have his fiancee's name slandered like that. "I'm gonna text Brian in a bit and tell him to go over there in the afternoon... cause no offense, Ava, if I see him again I'm gonna knock his teeth down his throat." He took another sip of his drink before taking a seat next to Kayla, automatically resting his hand on her knee.

Kayla scoffed inaudibly at Ava's comment. No matter how many people told her she wasn't boring, she still felt like she was. And if she was so fun, how come nobody besides Zacky and Ava wanted to hang out with her anymore? She took a sip of her cinnamon chai latte, smiling softly when Zacky rested his hand on her knee. "I might punch him next time I see him, too," she mumbled. She knew Ava probably didn't like hearing how she and Zacky wanted to hit her husband, but Johnny had just gotten into her head and it made Kayla angry, both at him and at herself. Up until today, she'd been with fine with the way her life had been since she'd gotten sober. But now she just felt stagnant and she hated it. "Have you talked to him at all today?" Kayla asked Ava.
Johnny wondered how long it would be before anyone decided to come looking for him. If he wasn't so damn drunk, he would have remembered that he got a phone call. Someone would probably figure out where he was pretty quick, but if he had to make a bet, he'd say he would be here all night, although it wouldn't be the first time he spent all night in the drunk tank. But this time he knew Ava didn't give a damn about where he was. The times when he was released, it was her who was here to get him, to take him home and make sure he was safe and warm and comfortable. But years of it had worn her down and Johnny knew she wouldn't come for him again. He would rot in here.

Ava nodded her head, taking another sip of her drink. Even though she could see where both Zack and Kayla were coming from (and she knew that Johnny deserved a good punch in the mouth every once in awhile), she still felt the need deep inside to rise to his defense. Even though he had done nothing worth defending lately. Hell, he made Kayla cry! Ava could handle her own emotions, but when her friends were fucked with she got angry on their behalf. "Totally don't blame you guys." She laughed, finishing up her coffee. "So, Kay... I don't know if you have any plans or anything today, but if you don't do you wanna go get a pedicure or something? I need a distraction."

    --

Zack nodded, listening as Ava spoke. When she mentioned pedicures, he gave an approving nod and a smile. "I think you should go, babe. Get out of the house for a bit, I know I've been driving you crazy." He teased. Zack knew that Kayla could use some cheering up, ever since Johnny yelled at her he could sense the change in her demeanor. Hanging out with Ava would definitely perk her spirits up. "I can even throw something together for dinner. How about your favorite? I haven't made that in forever."

"Yeah, we can go get a pedicure," Kayla said. Maybe getting out of the house and spending a little time getting pampered with Ava would help her feel better and help remind her that even if she was boring, her life was better now that she was sober. Getting a pedicure was never something she could do when she was still using coke; she could hardly ever justify spending money on something like that when she could be spending it on cocaine. "You're the sweetest," Kayla whispered, leaning over to give Zacky a kiss on the cheek. She looked at Ava. "Just let me go change into something a little nicer and we can go, okay?" She headed upstairs to the bedroom she shared with Zacky, mentally trying to decide what she wanted to wear. And for some reason, when she went into the bathroom to change, she was drawn to the drawer where she knew Zacky kept the electric razor case where he hid his stash. She knew this was a bad idea, but it was like she was on autopilot. She pulled out the little baggie of white powder, opening it up and sticking her index finger down inside. This is what controlled her life for years? This unassuming white powder? It was hard to believe.
Eight, nine...nine...nine...dammit, what the hell came after nine? "I'm too drunk for this shit," Johnny mumbled, deciding to give up on trying to count the bricks in the cell. But that would mean he would have to find something else to entertain himself. Hell, he might as well go to sleep. Using his arm as a pillow, Johnny curled up on the bench, squeezing his eyes shut. Thankfully it didn't take long for him to fall asleep, thanks to the alcohol. And not so surprisingly, he dreamt of Ava. It was one of his favorite dreams, even if it wasn't all that interesting or exciting. They were sitting on the couch, watching something on TV that Johnny couldn't quite focus on. It wasn't important, anyway. What was important was the smile on Ava's face or the sound of her laugh as she leaned into Johnny's embrace. Then she looked up and kissed him and Johnny just felt so happy. He hadn't felt happy like that in so long and he doubted that he ever would again, not if Ava really left him. She was the only thing keeping him here and if she left, he wouldn't want to stay.

Ava nodded her head. "No worries, take as long as you need." She got up to toss her empty cup into the garbage before joining Zack back at the kitchen table. "Seriously, thank you guys both so much for going to check on him. I'm going to have to go back there eventually once I decide what I want to do, but I can't right yet. I'm sick of him treating me like some sort of doormat." She sighed. "I don't mean to dump all my problems on you-- but you've been helping with me for awhile, so deal with it." Ava laughed before looking up the steps. "I wonder what's taking her so long?"

    --

Zack nodded his head, listening as Ava talked. "Don't worry about it. You're still my sister, no matter what goes down." He sipped the remainder of his macchiato before tossing the cup in the garbage. And it was true. Zack had known Ava for years, and he always made it known that no matter how his relationship with Gena was going, Ava could count on him for anything. "I'll go check on her." He excused himself before heading upstairs and knocking on the door to the bathroom. "Babe, you okay?"

Kayla knew this would happen sooner or later, especially with Zacky having a constant stash in the house. Sooner or later she knew she would be tempted, like really tempted, and it seemed like now was that time. And honestly, would it really be that bad if she just took a little sniff? She knew how to control herself now, she wouldn't get as bad as she was before. And maybe a line every now and then would help her be a little more fun like she used to be. "Shit," Kayla cursed, jumping when there was a knock on the door. "I'm fine, go away," she called out to Zacky. She went over to the door, flicking the lock shut. Having him come in here now wouldn't be good, not at all. "Go back downstairs, I'll be there in a few minutes. I'm changing," she lied. She went back to the counter, picking up the baggie of cocaine again. With it right in front of her, it was so tempting. And this wouldn't be the first time she'd thrown away her sobriety, although the other stretches had only been days, weeks at the most. But a year? If she threw away a year, she would never forgive herself. "Goddammit," Kayla mumbled. She hesitated for a few seconds before she brought a little bit of the powder out of the bag on the tip of her pinkie finger. A little bit wouldn't hurt, right? And it wouldn't be throwing away her sobriety, not if she only did it once. It was like eating a donut while you were on a diet. The diet wasn't completely ruined, you were just giving yourself a little treat.
Despite the alcohol, Johnny wasn't asleep for very long. The drunk tank wasn't an easy place to sleep. Groaning as he sat up, he glanced around. He had no way of gauging what time it was, but judging by the relative silence, it couldn't be too late. Things usually got louder and crazier the further it got into the night. He wondered if anyone had noticed that he hadn't come home. Surely Ava would have visited the house by now, even if it was only to get a few more things so she could leave again. He doubted Zacky or Kayla would come back anytime soon given what he'd said to Kayla, but maybe one of the other guys had gone over to check on him? Or maybe they'd all finally had enough of his shit and didn't care if he ended up in jail or drank himself to death. Even though none of them had any room to talk, especially Zacky. The guitarist still threw parties and did coke in the house when his fiancee was trying to stay sober. Despite what Johnny had said to her, if Kayla started using again, it would be Zacky's fault for keeping the temptation so close. "Can I go now?" Johnny called out. Instead of an answer, all he heard was a laughing scoff from the guard's station. He frowned. "Fuck you," he shouted.

"You want to leave tomorrow, Seward?" a voice called back. "Then you'd better shut your mouth. You don't leave until you're sober, you should know that by now."

Zack nodded his head, hesitating at the door for a second before heading back downstairs and joining Ava at the kitchen table. The two sat in silence which was occasionally punctuated by a cough from either of the two. When Kayla eventually came downstairs, Zack reached for his wallet and pulled out a credit card before handing it to his fiancee. "Here you go, babe. Have fun on me. Love you." He gave Kayla a kiss before watching the two friends walk out the door. Zack waited for the sound of a car pulling out of the driveway before heading back upstairs and to the bathroom. He was beginning to feel that familiar itch, the one that meant if he didn't have a line soon he would go crazy. The guitarist opened the bathroom door and padded inside, scanning the bathroom for his electric razor case. Zack raised a brow when he saw that it'd been moved slightly from its original spot. "Maybe Kayla just moved it while she was getting ready...." he mumbled to himself. Zack didn't want to think of the alternative.

    --

"I'll try not to have her back too late." Ava teased, throwing Zack a wink before following Kayla outside to her car. She climbed into the driver's seat and waited for Kayla to get herself situated before pulling out of the driveway and heading toward their normal nail salon. "So, how was your night last night?" Ava asked curiously. She knew that Kayla and Zack had gone out to celebrate Kayla receiving her one year token. "I need details, where did you guys go? Did you wear that lace dress you picked up at the mall?"

As soon as she did it, Kayla felt better and worse. Even that little bit brought back a rush of feelings she'd hadn't felt in a year, most prominently, the euphoria. But underneath that, and far more prevalently so, she felt terrified. Even after a year, it was far too easy to give into her temptations and all because Johnny told her she was boring. Kayla just hoped that she didn't end up seriously regretting this. Stuffing the baggie back into the electric razor case, she tucked it back underneath the sink. She quickly changed clothes before heading downstairs. "Sorry, I took so long," she apologized. She thanked Zacky when he handed her the credit card, giving him a kiss before she left with Ava. "Nothing interesting happened," Kayla told her, bouncing her knee. "We went out to dinner at the Water Grill and then we came home. And I didn't wear my lace dress. I wore that one with the cut-out panels on the sides. You know the one? We were going to go swimming when we got home, but we decided we were both too tired."
Johnny could tell when it started to get later, because the more time that went by, the more people who were shoved into the drunk tank. Johnny personally was at the point in his sobering up process where he was still rather drunk but he could probably make his way home if they let him go. He wondered if Ava would be there waiting for him, wondering where he was, but he knew she wasn't. She was probably plotting how she could go back and pack her bags without him seeing. But Johnny wouldn't stop Ava from leaving if that was what she really wanted. His life would essentially be over if she left, but her happiness was more important to him than his own, even if he had a shitty way of showing it. He wondered if anyone was looking for him. By this point, Johnny was sober enough to remember that he got a phone call, but he didn't want to use it. He wanted to test them all, see how long it took before one of them figured out where he was and came to get him.

Once he did his line and put his supplies away, Zack sent a quick text to Brian. He told him briefly what happened with Johnny and Ava before asking if he would go check on him. Brian agreed that he would and text Zack afterward, telling him what happened. The guitarist headed to the living room to watch some tv while he waited for Kayla to get back. He couldn't get over the off placement of the electric razor case though. For a second, the thought that Kayla did some of his coke occurred to him. But he quickly dismissed it. Kayla was so proud of her sobriety-- there was no way she would throw it away just because Johnny was being a dick.

Ava nodded her head, remembering the dress that Kayla described. "Oh, yeah, I know the one! You look super cute in that." She spoke as she drove. The redhead listened as Kayla described her night, and she couldn't help but grin. "Good, I'm glad you had fun. You deserve it, Kay." For the remainder of the ten minute car ride, the two sat in silence with the only sound being the radio. "I might get my actual nails done-- it's been forever since I've had acrylics. I have no idea." Ava mused as she parked the car.

"I like the dip powder nails," Kayla said, walking with Ava into the mall. It had been about fifteen minutes since she'd snorted the coke from Zacky's razor case and she was starting to feel the full effects. Kayla almost missed these feelings and she hated herself for that. She couldn't like this, because she couldn't do it again. She was supposed to be sober, although her happiness over that was tainted by what she'd just done. "I think I might go with blue," Kayla said as she looked through the sample colors for the dip powder manicure. "Ooh, or maybe this grayish-purple color? It's almost fall and this is a pretty color for fall." Kayla realized that she was rambling and closed her mouth, biting her lip as she continued to look through the samples. She just had so much energy now that she was feeling the full effects of the cocaine, but she knew she had to be calm.
"What time is it?" Johnny shouted out, trying to get the guard's attention.

"Time for you to shut up and go back to sleep, Seward," the guard shouted back. "Don't worry, I'm sure Ava will be here to get you soon."

Johnny cringed when he heard Ava's name. It made him feel so awful that he was here often enough that the guards knew Ava by name. "She's not coming this time," Johnny mumbled, rubbing his hands over his face. He knew he didn't deserve it, but he wished Ava would come and get him. He was like a child, especially when he was drunk, and all he wanted was do to see his wife and lay down in bed. That or have a drink. Even when he was sitting in the drunk tank, with Ava chased away because of his drinking, he wanted more alcohol. Johnny would always want more alcohol, there was no escaping from it. How could he escape from something that literally had his life in its hands?

Zack was just starting to doze off when Brian started blowing up his phone. He quickly answered it, listening to what his friend had to say. Apparently, from what Zack had gathered, Johnny had apparently gotten himself arrested because he wasn't home. Brian was currently on his way to go bail him out. "God dammit," he spoke, shaking his head before moving to text Kayla. Don't tell Ava right away, cause she definitely doesn't need this right now. But Johnny got arrested for public intoxication. Again. Brian's on his way to go bail him out.

"I really like that color! I think I'm gonna go with that minty green color I saw." Ava spoke, pointing to what she was talking about. "I'm gonna get it on my toes, too, so I'll match." The redhead grabbed her desired colors before sitting down in the little pedicure station beside Kayla. She pulled her phone out of her pocket, raising a brow when she saw she had a text from Brian. "Huh," Ava mumbled, showing the notification to Kayla. "I wonder what this is about. Brian practically never texts me."
