lessons learned.

Sabrina felt the stares from her classmates on her as soon as she walked into the school. She was only about fifteen weeks pregnant, so she knew it was only going to get worse as the school year went on. The teen didn't regret her son/daughter at all, obviously. Just the conception/baby daddy. Sabrina had met him at her brother's big summer blowout, right after she'd been let out of school for the year. One thing led to another, and about five shots of tequila and two beers later she was having sex with somone she'd never met before. Sabrina didn't even know the guy's name. She was too ashamed to ask her brother. With a soft sigh, Sabrina looked down at her schedule to see where she had to go. "Art with Mr. Baker.." She mumbled to herself, heading in the direction. Mercifully for her tired feet, her locker wasn't that far from the art room. No sooner than when her foot crossed the threshold. Sabrina got the shock of her life. There, standing in front of the classroom, was her baby daddy.

Am I gonna be seeing you today? Matt sent the text to Christyn before putting his phone down and rolling out of bed. There'd barely been any communication between the two that day, so Matt just assumed she was in one of her pissy moods, and she would crawl into bed with him later than night. He was surprised when he woke up that morning, there was no sign that Christyn had been at his home at all. Cause I miss you. A lot. Despite all of their bickering, Matt really did care a lot about her. She was the first person, aside from the gjuys, who had given a fuck about him since the divorce.

Zack was getting everything ready in his classroom as kids started coming in. He ignored them until he turned and saw one girl in particular. What caught his attention first was her face. He had went to a party at the beginning of summer and he hooked up with some girl, the same girl that happened to be standing in his classroom now. The second was the small baby bump she seemed to be spotting. "Shit.." he said under his breath.

Christyn sighed as she looked at the texts from Matt. yeah. I'll come by later this afternoon. She sent to him before turning her attention back to her work. They had been having constant fights, so Christyn had been staying with her sister. Once she was done with work, she decided to call matt and see if he was home before she drove all the way over there.

Sabrina made eye contact with Mr. Baker before immediately looking down at her feet. She took the seat farthest away from him in the corner of the room and pulled out her phone, doing anything she possibly could to avoid drawing attention to herself. Seeing as she was the pregnant girl with pink hair, that was a feat in and of itself. The teen knew she would have to approach him after class-- he had a right to know about his child, what he did with the information was on him.

Matt had just gotten out of the shower when he heard his phone ring. He answered it when he saw that it was Christyn who was calling. "Hello?" The vocalist answered, sitting down on the foot of his bed. "I'm actually glad you called, I wanted to ask you what you wanted for dinner tonight. I'm ordering out." He didn't want to admit it, but he was fucking relieved that Christyn was coming over.

Zack couldn't keep his eyes off of the girl, whose name he learned was Sabrina, the whole time. Once class was over, he was glad she stuck around. "Sabrina, can we talk?" Zacky asked her as she grabbed her things.

Christyn thought for a moment. "Italian is fine." She said. "I'll talk to you when I get there, okay?" She said and gave Matt a chance to say goodbye before hanging up. She sighed as she turned onto Matt's street.

Sabrina nodded her head, stuffing her binder in her bag. "Yeah, I was hoping you'd ask that." She sighed, resting a hand on her stomach. "Surprise?" An awkward chuckle passed through her lips, and she shrugged.

"Okay, drive safe." Matt spoke. Once he hung up with Christyn, Matt set about ordering their usual from the little Italian joint down the road.

"Surprise is right." Zack sighed as he ran a hand through his short dark hair. "This is crazy...I didn't even know your name or how old you were and now you're in my classroom and pregnant." He sighed.

Christyn got to their house and got out. She had her spare key so she went ahead and put it in the lock, letting herself in. "Matt?" She called out.

"You don't.... you don't have to be involved, if you don't want." Sabrina spoke, sighing softly. "I'm not gonna go after you for child support, or anything like that. I just wanted to give you the option."

"Upstairs!" Matt called. After he'd ordered their dinner for the evening, Matt decided to get dressed in something other than a pair of sweatpants.

"What? Of course I wanna be involved!" Zack said, looking at her. "I know we didn't really know each other but we're going to have something in common for the next eighteen years." He said, standing in front of her and placing his hand on her belly.

Christyn headed upstairs and leaned against the doorway as she watched Matt. "Did you get all dressed up for me?" She asked, taking her shoes off.

A huge weight was lifted off Sabrina's shoulders, and she exhaled in relief. "I still have no idea what I'm having... but I'm due around the middle of March." She whispered, looking down at Zack's hand on her stomach.

Matt looked down at his jeans, shrugging slightly. "Yeah, I decided that the same pair of sweatpants I've been wearing for the last two days wouldn't cut it for my girl." He spoke, crossing the room so he could press a kiss to her lips.

Zack nodded. "I'll give you my number. When is your next doctor's appointment?" He asked as he wrote down his cell phone number for her.

Christyn smiled and kissed him back. "I'm sorry about leaving the other day." She said as she sat down. She usually left when her and Matt got into fights. He never hit her but he's threatened to and he liked to punch walls so she would usually just leave but she'd always come back.

"It's next week Thursday," Sabrina spoke, putting his number in her phone. "I'll text you in a minute so you have mine."

"It's okay... I was kind of a prick." Matt spoke, remembering the hole he'd punched in the wall that day. He and Christyn were arguing about something completely arbitrary. The vocalist would never take it out on Christyn-- he was too good of a man for that.

"Hmm. I can probably get off work and go with you if you want me too." Zack said. His phone vibrated a few minutes later. "I guess this is you?" He chuckled.

"I kind of started it, if you remember." Christyn sighed and sat beside him. The doorbell rang, she looked at him, "our food?" She asked.

Sabrina shook her head. "No, you don't have to. If it's something, like, super important, I'll tell you in advance so you can take off." She scanned the number on the phone and nodded her head. "Yep, that's me!"

"I know, but still. Even so, I shouldn't have screamed at you like that." He raised a brow at the sound of the doorbell. "I think so... let's go check."

"Are you sure? I really want to be there for you and the baby." Zack said. He didn't think he would be having a baby this early in life or that it would be with one of his students but he was excited.

Christyn followed him down the stairs and sat on the couch as Matt answered the door. She could smell the food and got excited.

Sabrina smiled gently. "If it means that much to you, you can come with me." She spoke, absently rubbing her stomach.

Matt paid for the food and headed back inside. "Dinner awaits, gorgeous." He spoke, setting the food on the table.

Zack smiled. "That would be great." He smiled and looked at the time. "I'll write you a slip for your next class." He smiled and got her a late slip.

Christyn smiled. "Thank you, handsome." She said and took her food. "Do you want me to grab you a beer?" She asked as she got up to get something to drink.

Sabrina smiled gratefully, accepting the slip when Zack handed it to her. "Thank you," she whispered.

"That sounds good to me," Matt spoke, taking a bite of his food. "Thanks, babe."

Zack smiled. "I'll see you later." He said, watching her leave. He sighed as he got his stuff ready for his next class.

Christyn smiled and got up. She went to the kitchen and grabbed him a beer and a bottle of water for herself.

Sabrina headed to her next class and quickly sat down, a soft sigh leaving her lips. That went much better than she hoped.

"Thanks, love." Matt s;poke. He grabbed his beer and took a sip before setting it down on the coffee table.
