This Could Be Forever

Addie smiled at Klaus's words and nodded, "I'm glad you understand. Not many people I know do understand that feeling." She replied, "Your words are absolutely right, Klaus. I mean hell the last time I felt at home anywhere was Par--" She cut herself off before she could say any more. It was true, the last place she really felt at home had been with Klaus, and she didn't think it was a coincidence that she finds a new place to live, where Klaus just so happens to also live and the place also feels just like home.

Kol laughed lightly at her words. He raised an eyebrow at the look she gave to them before the door to the tomb started opening, "You did it, love!" He exclaimed happily as he looked at her. He knew that if anyone was going to be able to do this, it was going to be Emily. If she was strong enough to be a vampire hunter, she had what it takes to be a witch, she would be able to do it. He knew that she could do it. Which is strange seeing as he just met her the day before, but he felt like this was meant to be. He needed to teach her how to bring back her powers, how to become what she was meant to be.

Emily watched him for a few moments before she moved to wrap the bandage back around her hand. “It was just blood. It’s not like I actually did anything to make it open besides cut my hand and let the tomb eat my blood,” she reminded carefully before she made her way inside, looking around for a moment. With what had happened, it was hard to really acknowledge that she had to face the truth now. She felt in slight shock, trying to process it all.

Klaus paused in his steps for a moment at the reminder of Paris, the reminder of the heartbreak she’d given him, of the way she’d ripped apart his heart and tossed him aside and how she hadn’t cared at all. “Well, then, love, if Paris was your home, why ever would you leave it?” he asked, arching a brow as he looked to her, deciding to pretend that the mention of Paris, that the reminder of everything that happened there, hadn’t fazed him.

Addie looked up at him with wide eyes when he questioned her, "Because it stopped feeling like home." She replied. Once she had pushed him away, and he had left, Paris felt empty to her despite how many people were actually there. She didn't want to be there anymore. She left after the first month, "I lost the love for that city."

Emily's words caused Kol to roll his eyes before they walked inside the tomb, "Emily, if we're going to do this, you need to have faith. You have to stop being negative over this." Abigail said to Emily causing Kol to nod, "She took the words right out of my mouth." He added with a smirk as he looked over at her.

(These are really short sorry I was watching the walking dead and lost my train of thought)

“It wasn’t negative. It was the truth. I didn’t actually do anything,” Emily pointed out as she moved to sit down. “Though I guess that would have been the perfect moment to do that Open sesame thing. Shame, I missed out on it.” She watched them for a moment, tilting her head. “So, uh, can we get started now or what?”

Klaus watched her for a while, wondering what exactly she meant by that, but he wasn’t sure what to say in response. Regardless, he offered a small nod. “I see. I suppose that would put a damper on the city, finding that it doesn’t feel quite like it used to, that it doesn’t feel quite like home anymore,” he told her easily as he eyed her.

Addie nodded at his words, "I decided that maybe it was time to come over to the states to see what things were like over here." She stated with a grin. Addie didn't realize what things would be like when and if she ever saw Klaus again. Of course she had never thought about it because she never really thought she would see him again. Eternity was a long time as a vampire, and the world was only so big, but she still never really thought she would see him again.

Kol rolled his eyes lightly at her words before Abigail nodded and started to get out a few things for the ritual. Kol looked over at Emily, "You're going to have to lay down somewhere." Kol stated before Abigail started speaking, "And I know that he told you this yesterday, but you need to keep your mind fully open to this ritual. If you even have the slightest amount of doubt, the ritual will fail and coming back is going to hurt worse than if you keep your mind open." She explained.

“Coming back?” Emily asked, blinking, “What, am I going somewhere?” Her brows furrowed slightly as she watched Abigail a little warily. Still, she moved over, taking a seat before she laid down and sighed quietly, staring up at the ceiling of the tomb, taking in the sight for a few long moments. “I get it. I don’t have any doubt, I just don’t really understand all of this stuff.”

Klaus nodded slightly in response as he processed her words. He wasn’t sure if it really surprised him or not. In truth, he expected Addie to always stay in France, because it seemed like a place that suited her. But, now, she was here, and he wasn’t quite sure how to deal with it. “What do you think about it all so far?” he asked with curiosity, looking to her.

Addie grinned at his word, "Oh, Klaus, it's wonderful here." She gushed, "I love the feel and vibe I'm getting from the people here." She said happily. It was true. Addie was already loving New Orleans, and thankful that she picked that as her new home, "I can see why your family loves it so much here." She added with a grin. Addie loved a good time and New Orleans was definitely the place to go if she wanted to have a good time.

Kol nodded before he placed a hand on Emily's shoulder, "You'll learn." He replied before he nodded over at Abigail. She lit some candles and centered herself next to Emily. Abigail reached out for Kol's hand, using him to channel enough magic she needed, "Emily, you need to close your eyes and breathe. Go into your mind and find the earliest memory that comes to you." Kol said softly as Abigail started doing some chants.

(sorry this is so short; I’m trying to get as much as I can out today, so I’m kind of rushing myself lol)

Emily breathed out with the order, closing her eyes as she tried to focus, searching her mind for a few long moments, settling on a memory from when she was five. She’d been with her parents for the Casket Girls celebration. It was the first time her parents had told her that monsters were very real.

Klaus smiled with amusement as he watched her, though he had to catch himself. He couldn’t let himself fall into her all over again, not after what had happened before. Instead, he nodded slightly in response. “This city has something for everyone, it seems,” he told her easily, peering around a bit, “And it never ceases to amaze.”

Addie grinned at his words, "You must show me around. Take me to all the tourist sights. It'll be fun!" She exclaimed with a smile as she tugged on his hand. Addie was beyond excited to explore a new place, and it felt almost like habit that Klaus was the one she was touring it with. Back in Paris, Klaus showed her all of the landmarks she just needed to see and made sure she knew where all of the unique and beautiful places of the city were. She had no doubt that he knew of all of those places in New Orleans as well.

Kol watched as Abigail started saying some chants as Emily focused on the memory. Kol held out his hand for Abigail so she could channel his strength. Kol knew this was a risky spell and that it might not work, but Kol had faith that he could get Emily to remember her power and regain her power. He actually felt really bad that the power was taken away from her because she is apart of such a powerful family.

Emily focused on the memory, running over the conversation she’d had with her parents, how, at the time, she hadn’t understood what monsters were, the smells, the sights - she focused on remembering it all. She tried to hang onto it, even when she could feel the pain building up. The longer the spell went, the worse the pain got, and the harder it was to focus and, when the pain got too much, she couldn’t help but to scream out - and, at the same time, the flames of the candles burned brighter and higher, almost wildly.

Klaus watched her, debating for a few moments, but he was fairly distracted by her tugging on his hand. It reminded him so much of the past, before she’d ripped his heart out, and it made it difficult to deny her request and even more difficult to play hard to get. Regardless, he cleared his throat and nodded slightly. “Alright, love, as you wish,” he decided eventually before he began leading the way. “Are you aware of any of the tourist spots yourself? Any ideas of what there is to see in New Orleans?”

Addie smiled when Klaus agreed to show her the tourist places, "I actually don't really know of any places around. I really only know the French Quarter and I've already seen a good bit of it, but I know you'll show me the spots nobody else knows about." She replied with a grin. There was apart of her that knew she shouldn't be acting like this with Klaus after what she did, but she couldn't help it, he just brought out the happiness in her and the adventurer. Back in Paris, the two had gone on hundreds of adventures to little places that Klaus knew about that he knew she would love, and those memories held the biggest spots in Addie's heart.

Kol watched as he could see the spell seemed to clearly be working. He could see the pain on Emily's face as Abigail continued her chants, and he knew that it had to be close to fully working. It was when the candle flames soared higher that Kol let go of Abigail's hand looked to the witch, "It wasn't me. That was all her." Abigail said before Kol walked over to Emily, "Emily, love, are you okay? How do you feel?"

Emily found herself shocked with the entire thing, the pain ebbing away and she gripped at where the pain had been with surprise. How had it disappeared so quickly? Sitting up, she looked to Kol for a moment before her gaze went to the flames that had, at that point, gone out. "What just happened?" she asked quietly, shocked by it all, and unsure of how to really reply to Kol's questions when she was still trying to process everything else.

Klaus nodded slightly to her words. “To be quite honest, the sights aren’t all that interesting, love,” he told her as they walked, “It’s usually the events - the celebrations and festivals - that make New Orleans legendary. Tourists are mostly interested in the ghost tours, but, outside of what is seen on those, there aren’t many places to keep the interest.” He shrugged, peering over at her for a moment before he settled his gaze ahead as they walked, showing her what he could of his city.

He waited for her to get situated before he held out a hand to help her stand up. Kol looked to Abigail, who was staring at the pair, "She's got her full power now, I can feel it from here." Abigail stated with a small smirk. Kol was thrilled to help teach a witch the use of her magic. Seeing as he wasn't able to do magic anymore, he needed to get his fix the closest way that he could.

“Right…” Emily said carefully, staring at the candles for a moment before blinking when she spotted Kol’s hand. She stared at it for a moment before she placed her hand in his and pulled herself up, dropping her hand quickly to start brushing herself off. “So, uh… If I’ve got that power, then what exactly do we do now?” She arched a brow, looking between Kol and Abigail for a few moments with curiosity.

“Considering my family created most of the history, I am well versed in it, yes,” Klaus confirmed with faint amusement, nodding slightly as they walked. He began telling her all that he could - from the moment his family arrived on the shores of New Orleans to the most recent events. He shared with her all that he could allow himself to, though he worried that it was too much still after everything.

Addie didn't speak while Klaus was talking, she just listened. Hearing him talk about Paris was completely different than talking about New Orleans. Yes, he did know an awful lot about Paris, but New Orleans was his home and he clearly loved the place very much. Addie liked seeing him so in love with a city like this and talk about it like he was. It was very entertaining for her, and she could have listened to him talk for then entire day if there was enough to talk about.

Kol smirked at her, "Now I teach you how to use it." Kol stated. He held out his hand to Abigail who handed him the grim-wire that she had been using to bring back Emily's magic, "I know you know some of the history, so I'll spare you the vocab lesson." He stated before he handed her the book of spells, "This is the grim-wire we are going to be using for a while. It's kind of like your textbook for being a witch." He explained with a laugh. This was going to be fun, and Kol was already looking forward to it.
