Craig looked up from his video game he was playing as his girlfriend of three years, Meghan, came downstairs. "Where are you running off too?" He asked her, noticing how dressed up she was. He paused his game, sitting the controller down as he took a swig from his beer.

Emily finished putting her makeup on, making sure to cover the bruises on her face from Max's little outburst last night. They had been enjoying a night out on the town and everything was going great until a guy looked at Emily, giving her a friendly smile, and Max flipped out and once they got home he started accusing her of cheating which only led to them fighting. She sighed as she walked out of the bathroom to go find Max.

"Hey, babe..." Meghan smiled, pushing her hair back. "Emily and I were going to go out, maybe see a movie and get some drinks. Y'know... girl stuff." Her mind went back to the previous night where she and Craig'd had an argument over dinner. Meghan'd never heard him shout like that, and to top it off he gripped her arm hard enough to leave a bruise. "Is that okay?"

Max looked up from his phone, smiling gently when he saw Emily. He felt incredibly guilty about his outburst the night before-- but sometimes, his anger just got the best of him and he took it out on the nearest person. And last night, that just so happened to be Emily. "You look good, babe.... where are you headed off to?"

"Sure." Craig said, as he looked at her. "How long are you two planning on being out?" He asked her. It wasn't that he didn't trust her, cause he did, but he also knew she liked to look and guys liked to look at her.

"Hi babe...so Meghan and I are going to go out for a bit...is that okay?" Emily said as she sat down beside Max. She hated asking him for permission but she knew if she didn't, he would flip out on her for everything.

"About two, maybe three hours. We don't know what movie we're seeing yet." Meghan spoke, pushing her hair out of her face. "I can bring something back for dinner, if you want." She offered.

Max nodded his head. "Yeah, that's fine... what were you guys thinking about doing?" He asked curiously.

Craig nodded, "sounds good. I guess I'll see you then." He said, finishing off his beer. He leaned over to give her a kiss before picking up his controller again.

"We we're going to go see a movie. I don't know if we were going to do anything else after that but I can bring back dinner if you want me too." Emily said.

Meghan gave him another kiss. "I'll text you while I'm out, love you." She spoke before grabbing her purse and heading to the car. I'm on my way!

"That'd be good, babe. See if you can bring home some chinese." Max spoke, thinking about what he wanted for dinner. "So when is Meghan gonna be here?"

"Love you." Craig said, watching her leave. He trusted her, he knew she wouldn't cheat on him, plus, he threatened her enough so she knew better.

"She just texted and said she was on her way. I'm going to wait outside for her. Love you." Emily said and kissed Max's cheek, before going outside.

Meghan sighed as she pulled out of the neighborhood, reaching Emily and Max's house about fifteen minutes later. "Hey, you!" She smiled when she saw her friend on the porch.

"Be good!" Max called out, both as a parting greeting and a warning. He then turned his attention to his phone, deciding to see what Craig was up to. What are you up to tonight?

Craig grabbed his phone as it vibrated and read the message from Max. Not shit. You wanna come over for a bit? he sent to him.

"Hey!" Emily said as she walked over to the car and got in. She put her seatbelt on and looked at her friend. "We so needed this." She said.

Meghan nodded her head. "Yeah.... last night wasn't pretty. Craig and I got into a fucking screaming match over dinner." She sighed.

Same here. Why not? Give me fifteen minutes. Max headed upstairs to change out of the sweats he'd been wearing all day.

"Yeah. Max and I got into an argument over a guy looking at me. Just cause he looked at me, Max assumed I was cheating on him." Emily sighed.

Alright, doors unlocked, let yourself in. Craig sent back to Max. He got up and unlocked the door before going back to his video game.

"Seriously? You two have been together forever. If you were going to cheat on him, you woulda done it by now." Meghan spoke, shaking her head. "But Craig's the same way... anytime I go somewhere without him its this big lecture."

Max got dressed and headed back downstairs, grabbing his wallet and phone on the way out to the car. He climbed in and headed toward's Craig's house, stopping to pick up some beer on the way just in case.

"I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get lectured for going to the mall even though we told them we were going to the mall." Emily sighed.

Craig looked up as Max came in. "Hey dude." He said, pausing his game so he could get up and get another beer.

"Yeah, that's probably going to happen. I just hope it's not as bad as last night...." Meghan sighed softly. She continued to drive, pulling into the mall parking lot about ten minutes later.

Max nodded his head, setting the six pack down on the coffee table and taking a seat on the other end of the couch. "Hey, man."

Emily nodded, "me too, dude, me too." She said as she got out with her. "So, where to first?" She asked.

"Hey man, you brought beer." Craig said, looking over at Max. "How are things with Em?" He asked him.

"Let's go get our drinks, that way we'll be sober enough to drive home after the movie." Meghan suggested.

"We're good.... but we got into this big ass fight last night." Max shrugged, sipping his beer. "What about you and Meg?"

“Sounds good to me.” Emily said as she followed Meghan inside.

“Same here.” Craig sighed. “I don’t know what to do anymore, we’re always fighting it seems.” He sighed.

Meghan led the way to their normal seats and sat down, ordering a glass of wine for herself. "Get whatever you like, I'm buying."

"Well what did you fight about last night?" Max asked curiously.
