I ran my hand through my hair as I sat the groceries down on the counter. After putting everything in its place, I went and sat down in the living room, wondering how much longer it would be until Jorel got home. It wasn't that unusual for me to be home before him, but it was normally only about five minutes.

Once again I was home before George. I sighed as I started getting the stuff ready for lasagna. I was starting to become concerned with George getting home later and later. I had no idea what was going on and I tried not to think about it. I perked up whenever I heard his car pull up.

Jorel

I pulled up to my house, seeing Lydia’s car there already. I got out and went up to the front door, unlocking it. I opened the door and walked in, seeing my girlfriend sitting on the couch. “Hey baby.” I said, walking over to kiss her forehead.

Lydia

I smiled slightly when Jorel came in, "Hey, how was your day?" I asked as he kissed my forehead, I couldn't help noticing there was a little hint of perfume as he pulled away from me. Choosing to ignore it, I waited to hear how his day was.

Seeing Alanah's car, I walked inside and smiled over at her, "Hey babe." Walking over and hugging her from behind for a moment, I knew she was on edge lately and I didn't want to make anything worse.

"Long...I'm so glad it's almost over." I said, kicking my shoes off and putting them by the front door. "How about yours?" I asked her as I went into the kitchen to grab a beer. I wandered if Lydia suspected anything, I figured she didn't or else she'd already be accusing me of shit.

"Hi, how was your day?" I asked him. As he pulled away I thought I smelled perfume. I let out a small sigh but I didn't say anything, no use in starting a fight when we were doing so well lately. "I'm making your favorite for dinner by the way." I added.

"Well hopefully the rest of your day goes better, do you want anything specific for dinner?" I asked, "I just got back from grocery shopping, so anything you want." I smiled slightly and followed him into the kitchen.

"It was alright, felt like it was dragging honestly, I'm glad to be home," I was starting to wonder if she had any suspicions, but I wasn't going to ask if she didn't bring it up.

I shook my head as I opened my beer. “Surprise me. I’m going to go shower real quick.” I said, kissing her cheek. I took my beer with me as I headed upstairs to our room.

“Well I’m glad you’re home too. Dinner should be ready within the hour.” I told him. I grabbed a bottle of water for myself while I watched him.

Watching as Jorel went upstairs, I went and started taking things out to make spaghetti with garlic bread. It wouldn't be too long before the food was ready so I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and sat at the table in the kitchen.

George

"Alright, I'm gonna run upstairs and take a shower quick," I smiled over at her before going up the stairs. I figured my best bet was to get in the shower before Alanah would be able to smell the perfume, it was stronger than usual today.

I took a quick shower and then changed into some basketball shorts and a tank top before grabbing my phone and heading downstairs. “It smells good in here, baby.” I said, kissing her cheek.

I watched George walk off before going back to cooking. Dinner was cooling off by the time George came back down. “Dinner is done, I’m just letting it cool.” I told him.

Lydia

Smiling slightly, I put food on plates for both of us and placed them on the table, "Well, I'm hoping it tastes as good as it smells." I laughed softly as I took my water and sat down at the table.

Coming back, I grabbed a beer from the fridge and sat down at the table, "I'm sure it's going to taste great." I told her, opening the beer and taking a sip, I wasn't exactly sure what else to say to her at the moment.
