“If it’s because of Pierce I’d help him like I’m still trying to with Jimmy,” Artemis admitted. “But if it was him because an asshole and deciding he’s horrible when I told him to feed from him he can kiss my ass.”

Matt nodded. “Yeah,” he grinned. “I’ve always loved music and I feel like I finally have a good group of friends now with everyone.” He would probably owe most of the bands success to Artemis and Fae’s support when the time came he was sure of it.

Johnny nodded. When they got to Brian’s house, he climbed out of the car, carrying his bass inside and setting it by the front door. He headed straight for the kitchen, knowing Brian would be in there. “What do you have to eat?” he asked. “I’m starving. Artemis, are you hungry?”

Fae smiled and nodded her head. When they finally got to Brian’s place, she climbed out of the car and went inside, going to the bathroom to check her face. Her cheek was slightly red and a bit swollen, but it was nothing too serious. She really wanted to slap Veronica, but she didn’t want to cause a fight. Things were already tense enough as it was.

“I’m not very hungry anymore,” Artemis mumbled. The fight with Pierce and talking to Johnny about Zack had upset her stomach and the last thing the brunette wanted to do was vomit at Brian’s house. She felt the nausea she was feelings begin to rise from her stomach to her throat and Artemis quickly rushed to the kitchen sink and began vomiting.

Matt’s eyes widened as he watched Artemis rush to the kitchen sink and began vomiting. The smell hit Matt’s nose strongly and the way it smelled confused him. It smelled like her scent but it also smelt similar to how his aunt’s vomit had smelled when she was pregnant with his youngest cousin. He quickly rushed to the bathroom and knocked on the door. He needed Fae’s advice on what to do or say.

Johnny’s eyes widened slightly when Artemis began throwing up in the sink. He shot Brian an apologetic look before rushing over to pull her hair back. “Artemis, what’s wrong?” he asked, praying she wasn’t starting to get sick. He’d never dealt with another sick person before. His family had very good luck with their health, so he wasn’t very familiar with playing nurse.

Fae overheard Artemis puking, and before she could even react, there was a knock on the door. She walked over and opened it, looking up at Matt. “Is she okay?” she asked, a frown on her face. She saw the worried look on Matt’s face, and she knew immediately that something wasn’t right. “What’s wrong, Matt?”

“I’m fine,” Artemis mumbled. “I’m probably just getting sick.” She had been feeling naseous the past couple days and assumed it was because her immune system was weak from all the stress she had been dealing with. She spit what little bile was still in her mouth into the sink and began doing her best to clean it all up. Thankfully she hadn’t eaten much the entire day so it was mainly fluid that went down the drain easily enough.

“We need to get pregnancy tests,” Matt whispered to Fae. He didn’t want Artemis or anyone else to freak out especially if the kid was Zack’s. He knew the brunette pretty much hated the vampire now because of what had happened. Of course only the group knew but his parents and everyone else were completely oblivious Zack had drank Artemis’s blood.

Johnny sighed, grabbing a glass from the cupboard and turning the sink on. Once it was clear, he filled the glass up with some cold water and handed it to her. “Here, drink some,” he said. “You should stay hydrated.” He backed away from her, figuring he should give her some space. Her mood had suddenly seemed to change very quickly, and she didn’t seem to be very happy right now.

Fae’s brows furrowed. “Pregnancy tests?” she mumbled. “What, you think she might be pregnant?” She bit her lip, really hoping that that wasn’t the case. That would be a huge mess and everybody would feel it. She crossed her arms over her chest. “How do you suppose we get her to take them? I don’t think we can just hand one to her and ask.” She didn’t really want to go behind Artemis’s back, not again. She didn’t want to lose the only female friend she had.

“I’ll be fine,” Artemis mumbled. “I just think I may need to skip the game tonight.” She was extremely worried she was getting sick and didn’t want to get anyone else sick or ruin their good time by vomiting again. She sat down in the nearest chair she could find and ran her hands through her hair. The last thing Artemis wanted to do was worry her friends and she knew she was doing just that.

“Zack said they didn’t use condoms,” Matt whispered. He ran his hands through his hair and sighed softly. “Her scent is different Fae and when she vomited it gave off a similar scent to when my aunt was pregnant.” He knew he was probably pushing his luck but he knew of anyone could talk Artemis into taking a pregnancy test it would be Fae. “Let’s take her home and we can talk to her about it on the way to her place.”

Fae frowned, sighing heavily. “Fine,” she mumbled. “But you let me handle it.” She walked past him and went into the kitchen, walking over to Artemis. “Hey,” she murmured softly, gently pushing the other girl’s hair out of her face. “Matt said he’d drive you home if you wanted to go.” She didn’t like meddling in other people’s business, and she felt guilty for it, but just the fact alone that they hadn’t used a condom made up for it. Because it made sense. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have agreed to it.

Johnny frowned as he watched Fae with Artemis. He was slightly upset that Artemis was going to go home and not go to the game, but he knew he had no right to be. If he was sick, he wouldn’t want to be out either. Besides, it was probably best if she went home and got some rest anyways. Maybe she was just stressed out, and she would feel better the next day for the dance.

“He thinks something wrong with me doesn’t he,” Artemis mumbled. She wasn’t stupid and the fact Fae and Matt had been whispering to each other said a lot as well. She knew something had to have been wrong or they thought something was wrong. “Can you take me home and him drive my car back to my place,” she asked.

“She’ll be fine Johnny,” Matt stated. “Nothing a good nights rest can’t solve.” He just hoped he was right and it wasn’t what he thought. The last thing he wanted for poor Johnny or hell even Zack was Artemis knocked up with a kid.

Johnny nodded his head. “Please make sure she’s okay,” he said to Matt, wanting Artemis to be taken care of. He knew Matt was a good guy, and he would take care of Artemis. And he knew Fae really cared about her too. He kind of wanted to go with her, just to keep an eye on her and make sure that Zack didn’t try to come around, but he knew he had to focus on band tonight, so he couldn’t. But as soon as the game was over, he was gonna go to her place and take care of her.

Fae nodded her head. “Yeah,” she said. She took Artemis’s keys and walked over to Matt, kissing his cheek. “I’ll meet you back at her place, okay?” She exchanged keys with him before she took Artemis’s hand and led her out to Matt’s car. She climbed in, waiting for Artemis to get in. “He thinks you’re pregnant. I was going to try and be subtle about it, but I might as well just put it out there. He thinks you’re pregnant because your puke smells weird to him and Zack told him you guys didn’t use a condom.”

Artemis listened to Fae, shocked that Matt genuinely thought that’s what was wrong with her. She got into Matt’s car, tears beginning to form in her eyes as she buckled up. “That shouldn’t be possible,” she mumbled. “I’m still on birth control and he said he shouldn’t be able to do that.” The brunette sniffled, hoping Matt was wrong and she just had the flu but she knew they needed a pregnancy test to know for sure. “Is he grabbing a test on the way back to my place?”

Matt nodded and Johnny when he asked him to make sure Artemis was okay. “We’ll take good care of her dude I promise.” Matt meant it too, whether the brunette was pregnant or sick he would make sure she was care for. He climbed into Artemis’s car, driving to a drug store and bought a few pregnancy tests, glad no one was around he recognized and then began driving to Artemis’s house.

Johnny nodded, watching them all leave. He sighed, grabbing the cleaner from under the sink and beginning to scrub it. He knew Brian wouldn't do it, so he'd do it himself.

Fae frowned at Artemis's words. "I don't really know how birth control works but I overheard my parents once talking about a human giving birth to a vampire baby," she said, hoping that that wasn't the case with Artemis. "What would you do if you were pregnant? You certainly can't have an abortion. I wouldn't let you do that."

Artemis’ jaw clenched when Fae mentioned not letting her get an abortion. It wasn’t the blonde’s choice if she did end up being pregnant. Zack had abandoned her and she couldn’t support a baby all alone especially since her parents would kick her out as soon as they found out. “After Matt gets that tests I think you should head back to Brian’s to eat,” she mumbled. “I’m just going to go lay down.”

Matt parked Artemis’ car, walking into the house just as the brunette said after he showed up he and Fae just head back to Brian’s. He handed the brunette the bag of tests and took Fae’s hand in his. “Come on,” he mumbled. “We should probably try and get your face a little,” he stated. “I didn’t realize just how hard that leech threw that candy at you.”

Fae frowned, knowing she’d upset Artemis. But she just didn’t believe in abortion, and she didn’t think it would be right for Artemis to do it. She knew it wasn’t her choice, but if it turned out that Artemis was pregnant, she was going to try her hardest to convince the other girl to keep the baby. She would even take it in if Artemis didn’t want it that badly. “Let us know if you need anything,” she said to Artemis before following Matt out of the house. She sighed, stopping and turning to look up at Matt. “What would you do if I was pregnant?” she asked curiously.

“I would step up and do everything I could for you and the baby,” Matt answered. “I love you Fae and I could see us spending the rest of our lives together.” He knew it was a lot to say even if he had hinted at it before but he felt like he needed to say it outloud again because of the situation with Artemis. The last he wanted was to put Fae in a situation like Zack seemed to have with the brunette.

Fae smiled slightly and nodded her head. "Thank you," she said. She didn't think they'd ever be in that situation but it was nice to know that he would support her if they were. She leaned up and kissed his lips softly. "My cheek is fine, by the way. It's just a bit sore. It'll probably bruise but it's not a big deal." She pulled away from him and climbed into the car, hoping Artemis didn't hate her now for what she had said to her.

“It is a big deal if you bruise Fae,” Matt argued. “Veronica has no right to pull that shit with you or anyone else.” He thought what Pierce, Veronica and that whole group got away with was complete and utter bullshit. The werewolf refused to let that kind of crap slide anymore if he could stop it. “Let’s go eat,” Matt mumbled. “And I want you to stay close to the guys when I play. I don’t trust Vernoica, Pierce or anyone else they hang out with to not try anything.”

Fae knew he was right, but she just didn’t want to deal with that group. She didn’t want anything to do with them, so if her face resulted in a bruise, then so be it. “I know you’re worried about me, but I can handle myself,” she said. “If they try anything, I’ll show them who’s boss.” She grinned, but took his hand in hers and squeezed it. “I get it. If it would make you more comfortable, I’ll sit close to the front so I can be by the band.”

Matt knew Fae didn’t want him picking fights with that group to defend her but he had honestly no problem doing just that. The vampire bitch and all her buddies were long overdue for a reality check and he would have been more than happy to help provide it. When the blonde promised she could handle herself he opened his mouth to insist she still stay with the guys, quickly closing his mouth again when she promised to sit with the guys. “That’s all I ask for tonight,” Matt mumbled. “We have strength in numbers more than they do.”

Fae nodded her head. After they got something to eat, they went to the school to get ready for the game. She smiled as she took Matt’s team jacket and slid it on, holding it close to her body. It had his scent on it and she loved it. People were already starting to file in for the game, taking their seats on the bleachers. She stood back, waiting until she could see Brian or Johnny before she went to sit close to where they were. She didn’t like being alone, she’d always surrounded herself with people. Maybe that’s why she was so quick to jump to being friends with Jimmy and Artemis. She waved at Johnny when she made eye contact with him, frowning when Veronica and the rest of the cheerleaders made their way onto the field, shoving Johnny as they did so. She wanted to stand up and go say something to them, but it seemed like Brian was already taking care of it.
