Artemis waited until Fae was in Matt’s house for a couple minutes before she knocked on the door, absolutely terrified of how he would react.

“Hey babe,” Zack smiled. He lead her to the kitchen, wanting some time alone with her away from Matt. “How’s the baby?”

Matt’s brows furrowed and he walked to the front door, opening it. His eyes widened as he looked at Artemis. “What are you doing here?” he hissed, quickly stepping out and shutting the door behind himself. “You can’t be here.” He hesitated for a moment before looking down at her stomach and then back up at her. “Is it true?”

Fae smiled, gently taking his hand and placing it on her stomach. “Good,” she said softly. “I can’t wait to feel her start kicking.”

Artemis nodded.”I’m pregnant,” she stated. “I bought three tests and they all confirmed it.”

“I’m so excited to feel her move around too,” Zack grinned.

Matt stared at her for a moment. “How did Zack know before me?” he hissed.

Fae smiled and pecked his lips. She let go of his hand. “The pregnancy is going a little bit faster than normal,” she said.

“I don’t know,” Artemis mumbled. “People have been saying I look fat at school. Maybe one of them decided to say it was because I’m pregnant.”

“Is it because of me,” Zack asked.

Matt crossed his arms over his chest. “How long have you known?” he asked. He was pissed that it seemed everyone knew before he did.

“I guess so,” Fae said. “Fae usually have full-term pregnancies like humans. So it must be the vampire genes.”

“I just confirmed it this morning,” Artemis admitted. “Please don’t make me get rid of our baby Matt.” She had already the mistake of giving up the twins. She wouldn’t give up another baby.

“I’ll make sure you stay healthy,” Zack promised. He was honestly terrified to be a dad but also super excited at the same time.”

“You want to keep it?” Matt asked. “I can’t be a father.”

Fae smiled. “You’ll be a good dad, Zack,” she said. “I know it.”

“You don’t have to be,” Artemis insisted. “I’ll raise the baby by myself.”

“I hope Matt ends up being a good one too,” Zack admitted.

“No,” Matt said, shaking his head. He knew she’d eventually find some way to use the kid against him. “Get rid of it.”

“Do you think he will?” Fae asked.

Artemis couldn’t help the tears that began falling down her face as she shook her head. “No,” She sniffled. “I’m not giving up my baby.”

“I could see him being a good dad if he can keep his temper in check,” Zack stated.
