It didn't take long for them to get to their destination, nor did take long for the plan to go into action. He'd walked with his brother to the top of the hill then held out his hands to have the cuffs removed, "You still don't trust me, brother," He said with his somewhat smug smile before the handcuffs were removed. And as soon as Thor took them off of him Loki turned around to face his brother before he stabbed him, then followed as he fell down the hill glad that both girls were following right along and running after them, it was after all what the needed to happen. "You really think I cared about Frigga, you really think I cared about anyone?!" He yelled kicking Thor while he was still down. "All I've ever wanted was to watch you and Odin die at my feet," He said before making it seem as if he cut off his brother's hand when he'd reached for his hammer.

"Malekith! I am Loki of Jotunheim, and I have brought you a gift!" He told the men in front of him as he grabbed Jane and threw her towards their feet. I only ask for one thing in return; a good seat from which to watch Asgard burn!"

Ellie hadn't known what she'd signed up for really because she wasn't supposed to be there. She was supposed to have stayed back on Asgard where it was safe. But Ellie being who she was, didn't know how to listen sometimes especially when it came to if she should tag along on dangerous missions or not where people could die. But regardless of if she could or couldn't listen Ellie was there with them and she'd walked through the portal just like everyone else and before she knew it she was watching the events unfold in shock really, and maybe a bit of horror as she saw everything going on. "Thor!" She yelled as she ran to him not really wanting to believe this was happening. Loki had betrayed his brother, and just handed Jane over and Ellie knew there was nothing she could do about that without likely getting herself killed in the process which probably wouldn't have done any good anyway. So she settled for this and prayed that somehow this was all part of his brilliant plan because if not, it wasn't looking too hot for them.

Thor knew that he hadn't explained this all to Ellie. Granted, he hadn't expected her to be there, that was besides the point though, and he hoped that she'd heed his words he had said to her when they first arrived. He hoped that she'd go along with it. Of course, if she thought it was really happening, and believed that Loki had actually betrayed him, well, that would work too. So, as the plan carried out, he watched, gripping his arm that was supposedly sans-hand and watched as Loki handed Jane over to Malekith. He staggered up on slowly, bracing himself with one arm as he stared at the ground. That's when Malekith approached him and kicked him over. "Look at me." The dark elf said, giving Thor no other choice but to watch as Jane was suspended in the air, the ether slowly drawn out of her. With Malekith distracted, Thor knew that it was time. "Loki, now!" He shouted, and the illusion broke as Thor called for his hammer with an outstretched hand before holding it up in the hopes that the forces of weather would help him to destroy the dark matter.

As soon as he heard his brother say the words Loki sent magic his brothers way to put his hand back so Thor could hopefully destroy the Dark matter. And he wasn’t sure what happened or how it happened really but from there the dark matter was no longer in Jane and Malekith was taking off towards his ship and fights were breaking out. Up until that point things had been going according to plan, well Thor’s plan at least. Now though it was time for things to go according to Loki’s own separate plan. So batted one of the elves himself as Malekith escaped for the time being and when he saw his brother in need he knew it was time and went up behind the beast and stabbed him through.

Ellie sat with Jane as the events unfolded as she knew someone needed to make sure she was okay and both Thor and Loki were busy fighting the men off. Though Ellie was fully prepared to fight anyone who came at her or Jane. Plus she was still slightly confused and trying to wrap her mind around the plan that had just taken place.

Thor really didn't know what was happening either. One second he was certain that the ether had been destroyed, and the next there was an explosion and there were just bits of the dark matter floating about. And then...it was entering Malekith and that was when the fighting started.Thor started taking on as many of the elves as he could, hitting them and tossing them about with his hammer. Thor attempted to take on the beast, and then Loki was stabbing him through from behind just after the beast had gotten the upper hand and tossed Thor aside like he was nothing at all. That was when things really took a bad turn. The beast turned around, hardly phased by what Loki had done, and impaled him as well. "No!!" Thor roared.

It was all going according to plan, well kind of. Loki hadn't planned on this happening exactly like it was, but he had planned on faking his own death, and apparently, he was getting a little help, which actually made it a lot easier on him in the long run. "It's okay brother," he said knowing that if Thor ever learned the truth he'd be upset, but this was something Loki had to do for himself and no one was going to change his mind. In the end, everything was going to work out the way he wanted it to, or at least he hoped that for once it was. The last thing he wanted was to go through with this and then it too fails like he felt all his plans previously had done. "Tell Sigyn I'm sorry, and that I love her," he said needing it to be even more believable.

[ can we maybe skip to them fighting on earth in the next post? And closer to the end maybe to when Ellie get hurt? Or like right before she gets hurt? tehe ]

They were back on Midgard. The convergence made it rather easy to travel between realms, though it also made it very easy for Malekith and the other dark elves aboard his ship. The god of thunder wouldn't admit it, but he was struggling against Malekith now that he possessed the dark matter. At first he was anyway. Until the convergence sent him down below ground to the London tube. He only knew what it was because Ellie and Sigyn had spoken of the subway service in New York, and it seemed fair to say that this was something similar. "How do I get to Greenwich?" He asked a woman as he stepped onto the train. "Take this train three stops." She said. And Thor did just that, making it back just in time to stop Malekith from destroying the other realms.

Once back on Midgard Ellie had stuck close to Jane really just to help her with whatever she needed. Ellie knew she could fight if necessary but she’d made a promise to return to Asgard in one piece, and another one to not be reckless so it just seemed safer for her to help Jane set up a trap was the best way Ellie could describe it to herself because Jane had used so many scientific words that Ellie didn’t quite understand. She did understand sticking things in the ground though so that’s what she did. And it was working at first, well it was keeping everyone distracted which was the goal because they didn’t want Malekith to reach the convergence and destroy everyone and everything. However he was so strong because he had the dark matter now though that Ellie could tell Thor was strugging to fight him. It probably didn’t that he’d just lost his brother, or that in the back of his mind he was still mad at her, and likely still worried about her. But regardless of those things Ellie knew he could win. There had to be something. That’s when brilliant idea came to mind to use the rods to ‘kill’ Malekith came about. And it made sense so that’s what they did, along with some other things just go make sure he was gone for good. But in the process of taking him out for good he’d gotten in one good blow that wasn’t to Thor, it was to Ellie. Clearly he’d seen that Thor cared for her more than anyone else and felt it was a good idea to hurt yet another person Thor loved. So when he saw the end coming knowing he didn’t have much time he’d used part of the dark matter to throw her into a pile of rubble that resulted in her being stabbed through the abdomen.

"No!!" Thor shouted when Malekith delivered one last blow of the dark matter. He hadn't sent it towards him though, no, he'd sent it towards Ellie, and the god of thunder watched as his fiancé was thrown into a pile of rubble. He rushed over, hoping that she would be alright, but when he found her, he knew that she wasn't. "It's alright, you're going to be alright." He told her, trying to figure out the best way to lift her without causing her to bleed out. Once he had her in his arms, he shouted to Heimdall before glancing down at the woman he loved. "You're going to be alright, Ellie. Just stay awake. Please stay awake." He was practically begging her to keep her eyes open as they traveled along the Bifrost. He didn't say anything after that and made his way back to the palace quickly. He couldn't lose the woman he loved and his brother in the same day. He wouldn't lose them both.

Sigyn heard the clap of thunder outside and knew that Thor had returned. She left the library and headed to the entry-way of the palace, spotting Thor carrying a very injured Ellie. "What the Hel happened?" She asked as she rushed over, concerned for her friend. "Malekith sent her back into the rubble before we destroyed him. I need to get her to the healers quickly." Thor said and Sigyn did her best to keep up with him as he headed towards that wing of the palace. She noted that Loki wasn't with them, and she wanted to believe that her husband would be back shortly, but why wouldn't he have come back with Thor and Ellie? And she sort of just knew, but she had to remain strong right now. She'd be of no use to Thor and Ellie if she was a sobbing mess. So, she held her chin high for the time being and followed them to the healers.

Ellie had been careful, she’d stayed out of Thor’s way while he fought the dark elves, she’d literally only really helped at the end when Jane needed help with the rods. Yet Thor was holding her begging her stay awake because she’d been the target of an attack. Ellie rested her head on his chest while he carried her off to have someone look at her. She trying to keep her eyes open but she just felt so tired. “I’m sorry.” She told him knowing if she would’ve just listened this wouldn’t be happening. “I’m so tried, and cold. And I can’t breath,” she told him as she could feel the blood soaked through her clothes, and she knew she was dying or at least it felt that way and she didn’t want to. Honestly, Ellie was scared. “I don’t wanna die,” she breathed out barely audible as her eyes got a little heavy and started to close. There were so many things she still wanted to do. Like marry the man of her dreams, start a family with him, see her own children grow up in general. And what about her dad? Plus she wanted to meet Sigyn and Loki’s baby, and get to celebrate her first Christmas and New Year with Thor. Ellie just wasn’t ready, and she’d fight to stay as long as she could, but it was hard when falling asleep and just slipping away seemed so much easier.

Thor rushed Ellie to Eir and the other healers as quickly as he could. It didn't seem to be quick enough though, and it was killing him hearing Ellie say the things that she was saying. "Just stay with me, El. You're going to be fine. Everything is going to be fine." He said though it pained him to even say the words, and he knew that he was trying to reassure himself as much as he was her. He felt Sigyn pull him back slightly once he had set Ellie down.

"Give them space." Sigyn said quietly. It pained her to see her friend this way, and she knew exactly what it felt like too because she'd been through it more than once herself. It was a scary thing, but she doubted that Eir and the other healers would be able to do anything if Thor was hovering around them. "She's going to be alright, brother." She said, resting her hand lightly on Thor's arm as they watched Eir and the other healers work tirelessly, but her words were proven wrong rather quickly when Eir approached them both with a saddened expression on her face. "I'm sorry, but she is mortal and has lost far too much blood. There's nothing that we can do to save here---" Thor cut her off quickly. "No, there has to be something, you have to save her! You have to do something!"

Ellie nodded her head slowly before she felt Thor setting her down and from there she let her eyes close while Eir and the other healers worked on her. They eventually stopped the bleeding and stabilized her for the time being, but it didn't look good for her. She was having a very strange out of body experience, she could see herself laying on a table but she could also see everything else around her. "I have to wake up," she told herself biting her lip as she watched the healers do the best they could but she could hear Thor and Sigyn not far from her so she went to them, even though they couldn't see her or hear her. And it broke her heart to everything. That the healers didn't have anything else they could do to help her, but also that Thor was clearly so upset about everything. "I'm so sorry," she said softly going to grab his hand, even though she knew he couldn't see, hear, or feel her there. "I'm sure you'll think of something, I hope you think of something," she said sighing. Ellie didn't know what could be done to help her, but she hoped someone figured something out, because as much as she didn't want to admit to herself, she could feel herself being pulled in two different directions. Part of her wanted to let go because it seemed so easy and then the pain would go away but the other part of her wanted to stay because she wasn't ready to let go, but she didn't know how long she could fight either before letting go overpowered holding on.

It pained Sigyn to hear Eir say what she had just said. She didn't want to lose Ellie, but she knew it would be even harder on Thor, because she already knew what it felt like to lose a soulmate. No one had told her that Loki was gone, but she knew without them telling her that he wasn't coming back from Svartalfheim. She pushed the thoughts to the back of her head because she simply couldn't think about that right now and wracked her brain for something that could be done to save Ellie. "Brother, what about one of Idunn's apples?" She asked Thor before looking to Eir. "If Lady Ellie was immortal, would you be able to save her?" Eir thought about it for a moment before nodding. "I'd have a better chance of saving her, yes, but she has very little time left now--" Sigyn shook her head and turned to Thor. "Go, it's the only way to save her." Sigyn could tell that Thor was really thinking about what Sigyn and Eir were both suggesting.

"You're certain that this is something that could save her?" He asked. He had thought about the apples from Idunn long before this had happened, but he had hoped to talk to Ellie about it and give her the opportunity to decide if it was something that she wanted or not. Immortality could be a blessing and a curse all wrapped up into one thing, but if Eir told him it was the only thing that could be done to save her...well, would he be selfish if he did it? "If she remains mortal, there's nothing I can do for her. I should warn you that there is nothing that can be done to reverse immortality once it has been granted though. She will never be mortal again." The healer said. Thor nodded and thought about it for a moment before looking to Sigyn. "Look after for me, sister. I shall return as soon as I can." He said before taking hold of Ellie's hand that was far too pale and cold for his liking. "Hold on for me, Ellie, please." He kissed her hand before he was off to barter a deal with Idunn.

Ellie listened to what was being said and she didn't know how to feel about it. Being immortal was a huge deal and nothing she'd ever even thought about before now yet it was somehow the only way to save her. If it worked then she'd wake up and everything would be fine, she'd be in one piece and they could continue on with their lives together for well ever. But if she stayed mortal then she'd likely die from blood loss and never see him again. And she wanted to see him again. Ellie wanted to wake up and actually feel the warmth of his hand. She wanted to wake up and be able to kiss him, marry him, and tell him how sorry she was that this had happened. But did she want to give up her mortality for it? It really was a hard choice to make, but no matter what she decided right now would change that Thor was going after the apple to save her and even if she wasn't okay with it this was something she'd have to learn to accept. "I'll do my best," she said hoping to hold on long enough for him to save her because that's what she wanted. She didn't know that she wanted to be immortal but she didn't want to die, and Ellie was willing to learn how to live with immortality alongside Thor if that's what it took to save her. And honestly, Ellie couldn't figure out what was more heartbreaking right now, that she was dying and have to give up her mortality to survive and that she didn't really get a say in it or not, that Thor had just lost his brother recently his mother and could possibly lose her if he didn't do this, or that Sigyn had lost Loki and maybe she knew maybe she didn't, but that she was being so strong right now for Thor and Ellie even though she might not have known what was going on with her husband.

"Thor will be back soon." Sigyn said quietly. "And when he returns, he'll give you the apple and everything will be fine. He's not losing his soulmate, and I'm not losing my friend." She refused to believe that there was a chance that Thor wouldn't return in time. He had to though, because she didn't want him to have to go through losing his soulmate when he had only just found her a few months ago. It wasn't fair. There had to be someone in the cosmos who wanted them to live happily for many, many years. And maybe if she just used a little bit of her magic, nothing crazy, just enough to help warm her up and keeping her going long enough for Thor to return then all would be fine. "I'm going to try my best to help, but I need you to do what you can to hold on. I haven't known you long at all, but you're one of the strongest people that I know, and I just need you to do what you can to stick around okay?" She held her hands out over where the wound was and her hands emitted a warm glow as she tried to keep her friend warm and maybe heal her a little bit. "Come on, El. You can do this. I know you can."

[I'm going to bring Thor back in next post with the apple, I just didn't do enough research to like play that out fully and wanted to get a post up this morning cause I'll probably be at the con till like dinner time XD]

Ellie sat at the end of the bed she was on and pulled her knees close to her before resting her chin on top of them. “You have to hold on,” she told herself looking up towards Sigyn who was talking over her. “We can’t leave Thor. I know he’s angry still because we didn’t listen and went along on that mission when he’d told us not to. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love us. He does or he wouldn’t be out looking for some way to save us. And it may take some time for everyone to adjust and heal from this but we have to,” Ellie said just trying to convince herself to stay alive for a little bit longer. And it helped that Sigyn was trying to keep her warm, out of body Ellie feel it which had to be a good sign, or so she was going to believe. Because Ellie couldn’t let herself think that she might actually let go because that was to heartbreaking.

Sigyn had no way of knowing whether or not her magic was helping her friend. She hoped that it was, because it was all she could really do right now to help, and she hated thinking that Thor could return to late to do anything to really save Ellie. She tried thinking positive but it was hard with all that had happened recently, and she still was trying her hardest not to think about her husband's absence even though she sort of already knew what it meant. Time seem to pass by slowly and when Thor finally did return, she was so beyond relieved that he had. "Did you get it?" She asked.
All Thor could think about was whether or not he would be too late when he finally did return to the castle. It had taken much convincing before Idunn gave him one of the apples, but she found the story an inspiring one, and did finally give him one. He rushed down to where he had left Sigyn and Ellie, nodding when Sigyn asked if he had gotten one of the apples. "With a great deal of convincing, yes." He said as he took the apple out. "How much of it does she need to have?" Sigyn let out an audible sigh of relief. "I don't think it needs to be all of it, but we need to at least get her to take a few bites." Thor nodded and approached the two women. "Ellie, I need you to open your eyes for me, love. If you don't, there's nothing I can do to save you. I need you to be strong like I know you are."

Ellie looked at her body again once Thor had returned with the apple and she listened to Thor asking her to wake up and she bit her lip trying to think of what she could. She had no idea how to make herself wake up but she knew she had to do something. “You have to open your eyes,” she told herself before laying down and sighing. “We can’t let go. They’ve worked too hard to keep us alive. Plus we just found Thor. Do you really want to just let him go? Because I don’t, Sigyn has kept us warm enough that we should just open our eyes, eat the apple, and let Eir help us! I just want to wake up!” Ellie practically yelled at herself before suddenly she could feel the pain again, but she could also actually feel her body again. “Everything hurts,” she groaned before she slowly turned her head to face Thor and Sigyn and let her eyes flicker open, which kind of made her eyes hurt because the room was so bright.

Sigyn was relieved when Ellie opened her eyes. If she couldn't eat the apple, it would have been a moot point. Thankfully, she had. Sigyn looked to Thor who seemed just as relieved that she had gathered enough strength to wake up. She could only imagine how much pain her friend was in right now, but at least she had enough strength and fight left in her to wake up even if it was only long enough for her to eat a few bites of the apple. That's all they'd need to save her.

"I know it does, El. I know." Thor said, just relieved she had woken up. He didn't know what he would have done if she hadn't, and he had no way of getting her to eat the apple. "It'll go away soon though, I promise. I need you to eat this for me though. And then Eir can heal you properly. Can you do that for me?" He asked as he held the apple near her lips lightly. He just needed her to be okay. He needed her to survive this, and while this wasn't how he'd wanted to suggest one of Idunn's apples to grant her immortality, he knew that it was the only option that they had right now.

Ellie nodded her head the best she could before she did what was asked and ate some of the apple. She knew what it was going to do, and while she still wasn’t sure how she felt about being imortal she knew she didn’t want to die yet so she went along with it and was just going to learn how to accept it. “I’m so sorry,” Ellie said softly looking between the two of them after she’d eaten some of the apple. This wasn’t supposed to be happening, she wasn’t supposed to be hurt right now or eating a apple to make her immortal in order to stay alive, but that’s how things were going and she was just going to have to learn to live with it all. Plus she felt awful about Loki being gone for Sigyn. Even though it wasn’t her fault she was still sorry about it.

Once she ate some of the apple, both Thor and Sigyn knew that Ellie would be safe. When she apologized though, Thor didn't say anything and simply shook his head and walked out of the room. "He needs time to mull everything over that's happened." Sigyn said, hoping to assure her friend that the god of thunder would come around. "Right now, you should rest. I'll tell Eir that we were able to give you one of the apples, and she'll be in shortly to ensure that you'll be on your way to recovery. You should be in much better condition soon enough." She mustered a small smile before choosing to leave as well. Her friend needed rest, and Sigyn just felt as though she needed some time to mull over what had happened as well. She couldn't not think about Loki any longer. As she walked back to her chambers, she overheard a guard speaking with Odin in the throne room. A body had been found on Svartalheim. That was all the extra confirmation she needed and she couldn't hold back her tears any longer once she reached her chambers, collapsing onto her bed and hoping to muffle her sobs with her pillow.
