Sometimes things happen and your mind plays that little mind trick with you. Like "Girl, you're totally not." But your gut laughs and is like "oh, yup, you totally are."

Like the first time she slept with Rian after being wine drunk a few weeks back. They had a tough day in the exes department. It was Josie and her ex-fiances wedding date they planned, and it was the first time Cassadee brought another guy on the red carpet that wasn't Rian. To celebrate, Josie went out and bought the cheapest bottles of Moscato and they played 21 questions. Which led to Josie ending up in Rians bed instead of her own. Which, wasn't too uncommon, since they always fell asleep together watching movies, but this time, no clothes were involved and she knew her older brother would be less-than-thrilled to find out she was sleeping with one of his friends, let alone someone in the band. The only thing saving her, she thought, was the fact it wasn't Gaskarth or Barakat. He would have really flipped out then.

It just made sense for Rian and Josie to experiment. Rian was always the one there for her after everything went to shit. He was the first person she called when she ended up in the hospital the last night she was abused. He was the one that pushed her to leave. He was the one that picked her from the ashes so she could rise like a Phoenix. She always had a deep admiration for him. A crush when she was a kid. That's how she ended up in his bed. She admitted to having feelings for him before he met his high school girlfriend Kara.

But her mind was now telling her she wasn't pregnant after she cleaned her mouth from the morning sickness. She had taken 6 pregnancy test and in a matter of seconds, the plus was there. Not only was she pregnant, she was super pregnant. And her but knew. That's why she cut back on the drinking and partying. But the need to tell Rian was still there. She wasn't as nervous as she thought she'd be. He was the one person to make her calm and even though it was a shitty situation, she knew he'd find light in it. They had been on and off messing around since that night. They kept telling each other they couldn't, but there was something that kept them pulling towards each other. She walked out of the bathroom and looked around their house, calling his name, to no answer. It had to be 10am, so she knew he wasn't sleeping, so her next thought was he was in their garage recording a band. Instead of interrupting the session, she walked over to the couch, plopping down, and pulled out her phone as she skimmed through the channels, landing on a boring cooking show. "RiRi...where are you :c I woke up and you weren't here! She casually texted him, trying to play it cool as butterflies worked in her stomach. She was about to change their entire lives and she was acting like it was a dumb crush, what was wrong with her?

Rian had just climbed into his truck when his phone pinged, signaling that he had a text from Josie. He looked at the notification and a smile spread across his twin flesh. He and Josie had been messing around a lot in recent weeks-- and as much as Rian told himself not to, that it wasn't a good idea, he found himself falling harder and harder for Josie each day. Every little glance, every giggle or playful shove shot off sparks in Rian's heart and he had to suppress a smile. The one woman he wanted, he couldn't have-- unless he wanted Zack to murder him and play jump rope with his intestines.

Nerd, didn't you read the note I left for you on the fridge? I told you that the guys and I had a breakfast meeting and I'd be back soon! I picked up some French toast for you, in case you're hungry. <333 Rian made sure that the text went through before putting his phone in the center console and buckling up. He started the car and headed back toward his home that he now shared with Josie. For some reason, a feeling settled over Rian that he just couldn't shake. One that told him that something big was going to happen. He didn't know what, or why, but he knew that the course of his life would change forever. Shaking the negative thoughts for the moment, Rian cranked up the radio and focused on driving home.

He arrived at home about ten minutes later, cutting the engine. Rian gathered up his things before hopping out of the car and locking it behind him. The drummer unlocked the front door and stepped inside, listening for Josie. "Jos, I'm home! I brought food!" Rian kicked off his shoes and headed into the house, looking around for Josie. He set the bag of takeout on the kitchen table before heading upstairs, smiling at the sight of Josie. In Rian's humble opinion, Josie was the prettiest woman in the world. "Hey, gorgeous." Rian kissed her forehead before pulling her in for a hug.

"Is everything okay?" Rian asked, pushing her hair out of her face. "You seem off."

Josie smiled at his text, rolling her eyes as he called her a nerd, his "cute" nickname for her from when they were kids. Every time he'd call her that, she'd push him or pretend to be mad, since it started when they were in band camp and she was playing the bells, just to get close to him. Of course, he never picked up on it because he was Rian, but she knew this feeling for him started way before the other night. And if she had her way, it was going to last a while. She knew her brother would be against it, but she didn't care anymore. With the band finally slowing down, maybe this was the perfect time. I would yell at you for calling me a nerd, but ya know, you come baring gifts. She texted back quickly, knowing he'd be driving by now and that he'd get it when he came in. She made sure her teeth were brushed and she picked out a simple outfit for the day, jeans and a long white sleeved shirt. She knew she'd be comfortable in this in case anything was to happen.

Josie paced around the kitchen knowing he'd be home any second. But she couldn't think of when and how she was going to tell him. Should she just say it when he got home? Should she wait? What if they were going to go back on tour soon, he couldn't find out right before he left. In the middle of her panicking, she was looking around the kitchen, praying for a sign to tell her what to do, when she looked over to the spot they keep the bread and found hamburger buns. She laughed at the dorky sign, but knew she was going to tell him as soon as he got home. She grabbed a cookie shirt from the side and placed the bun in the middle, before placing it in the oven. She then took their oven timer, and as if on cue, she heard his truck rolling up to the drive way. She set it for five minutes and booked it back into the living room where she was watching whatever silly Christmas movie she could find on Netflix: one of her all time favorite guilty pleasures. She knew if he'd walk home and see her doing that, he wouldn't question her.

When he walked inside and pulled her into a hug, she felt the familiar butterflies that hadn't gone away since high school. He was her protector and her saving grace, even if he claimed she was his. She squeezed him tight, kissing his stubbley cheek with a giggle. She remembered telling him a few days ago she found him more attractive with a beard, and she was thrilled he was listening to her. "Hello handsome." She smiled up at him, feeling his hands push her hair back. She let a lazy shrug fall off her shoulders. "I felt queezy this morning but I think it's cause I didn't eat. So you saved me!" She said, overdramatically as the timer went off in the kitchen. "But I did make you some blueberry muffins. Wanna grab them from the oven for me?" She asked, kissing his lips softly before giving her best pout face, trying to guilt trip him into going.

"I wish I would have known you were gonna make muffins before I got myself breakfast!" Josie's blueberry muffins were the stuff of legends-- definitely the best hangover breakfast Rian ever had. The drummer set the takeover containers down on the counter before heading further into the kitchen, bopping the oven timer so its obnoxious dinging would stop. A calloused hand grasped the handle and swung the oven door down, leaving a perplexed look on Rian's face when he saw a hamburger bun instead of a tray of delicious muffins. "What the fuck?" Rian mumbled to himself, running a hand through his hair. "Your ass is grass, lady! Where are my muffins?" He jokingly called out, taking the cookie sheet out of the oven and setting it on the stove top.

Bun in the oven, bun in the oven... where had Rian heard that before? He shook his head before heading back out into the living room, leaning against the doorway. "Jos... what gives? What's going on?" Meanwhile, Rian kept repeating 'bun in the oven, bun in the oven' in his brain over and over. And suddenly, it was like a light bulb went off in his head. Rian looked over at Josie again, brow raised in suspicion. "Josie...are you pregnant?"

The look on her face was all the confirmation Rian needed. A million emotions started running through his mind. First and foremost, elation. He was having a baby with the woman that he loved. What sane person WOULDN'T be happy? The second most prominent emotion was fear. This pregnancy meant that Rian and Josie would have to talk to Zack about their relationship, and Rian was pretty sure that Zack would end up punching him right in the face. The bass player was adamant that Josie was off limits, and he said so in a tone that people knew meant he wasn't to be fucked with.
