Nadia stepped back in shock, her back hitting the tree. She stared at him and Sam for a moment before taking a step closer to him. He was massive, she was stunned. He hadn’t been lying to her and she felt bad for saying he had.

“You were telling the truth,” She whispered, walking closer slowly and reaching out to touch his head. It was real fur, and he was a wolf. “So you really can turn into a wolf,” She murmured, looking into the wolf’s eyes and seeing Paul’s.

Jacob took a few steps back before closing his eyes. His body shook, and a huge russet Brown wolf stood in his place. He sat down slowly, before laying in a crouch and putting his head on his paws. He looked at her and made sure not to move, not wanting to scare her in any way. He whines softly, putting his ears down onto his head.

She gasped and stumbled back a little as she looked at him with wide eyes before slowly making her way closer to him, "Jesus, Jake..." she whispered softly as she reached out to touch his head softly then pulled her hand back ,"Why ....the cold ones?" she murmured lightly then recalled the stories, "They're around here then?"

He whined a little and looked to Sam, "He is saying I told you so," he chuckled a little as he looked at her then at Paul, "Are you okay to be on your own now?" he asked him and Paul nodded.

"He'll be naked when he turns back, here are some clothes for him," he told her.

“I’m sorry I gave you such a hard time,” She looked at the clothes and then back at Paul. She didn’t know what to say. “So then, the whole imprinting... you meant that too? You’re really my soulmate?” She asked him, as Sam walked away. She looked at his face and sighed.

Jacob nodded, looking back toward her house. He took a few steps away from her, before calming down and turning back into himself. “Give me a second, I need to put clothes back on,” He said, ducking behind a tree and pulling in the spare shorts he had brought out.

Alex nodded a little as she looked away then wet her lips a little, when he came back she looked at him. "So.. its real," she murmured softly as she looked at him then chewed on her bottom lip.

He looked to the woods and nudged clothes in her hand before gently taking them so he could change. When he came back frm the trees he rubbed his neck, "I.. yeah its true.. .all of it," he said to her lightly.

She watched as he came back. “So then you’re protecting Forks and La Push from the cold ones? Am I in danger?” She asked softly. “What’s supposed to happen now?” She asked. “I want to know more about the imprinting. We’re basically strangers, how did this happen?”

He shook his head. “The cold ones used live in our city, the Cullen’s. But they left recently. Now we protect from any of them that happen to come through. One came through recently, but we run them out.” He explained.

She nodded a little as she listened to him then furrowed her brow a little, "Wasn't Bella dating one of the cullens? Then he left," she said to him lightly,"is it safe here now?" she asked him lightly.

He sighed, "It just happens, we're the best possible match for one another the first time I saw you it happened. It can happen to anyone, any age, all it takes is 1st eye contact,"

“For now it is, but you’re one of the safest people in town now, since I’ll never let anything happen to you.” He smiled a little. “And yeah, she was but they left,” He shrugged

She nodded a little. “Want to go out? I guess if it is true, rejecting you would hurt you,” She sighed a little. “I don’t want to hurt you so, I guess we can see where we can go from here.”

Alex looked at him then smiled a little then nodded, "Well, then I suppose the.. connection I feel with you makes sense," she said to him gently as she looked up at him. "I was worried it was some psychological disorder or something," she joked.

Paul nodded a little, "I'll cook for you, I'm make a mean burger, " he said to her with a small smile.

He laughed a little. “You feel what I feel, just in a different way. It’s really deep if I explain how I feel but we’re connected in a way,” He explained to her. “Just maybe a bit stronger in me because I’m a shapeshifter,”

She smiled a little. “Okay, that sounds like a good idea. So how long can we go apart?” She asked curiously. “Also, have you had to fight any cold ones?” She asked him. She felt like she had hundereds of questions

She nodded a little, "So does this mean... we're like... meant to be together like.. married and stuff?" she asked him unsure of what it all meant..

He sighed and nodded,"Yes, recently - but she's gone now I think," he told her, "But we can see each other once a day at least and I'll be okay..."

“Of course you still have a choice, we go at whatever pace you want. Even if you just wanted to be friends, I’m happy to be near you. For me though, there’s no choice, you’re it. I won’t see anyone else ever again.” He told her. “Think of it like people losing their faces or features, in a way, I can’t see anyone else anymore.”

She nodded a little. “Will you hurt me though? Can you? I know you’re my soulmate but can you like leave me or something?”

She looked at him and nodded a bit," I see," she murmured gently then rubbed her neck. "Uhm, we can... take it one day at a time then?" she offered as she looked at him. "I want to get to know you better,"

He shook his head, "No, never - not on purpose. You're my reason for existence, I won't ever see another woman but you for the rest of my life," he told her, "It's deep but.. it's just how it is now."

She nodded a little. “Okay, well, it’s a lot to take in. But maybe we can get to know each other? You can make me a burger and we can talk or I can cook for you and maybe you could help me out around my house like you offered before, since I guess you’re going to be a constant in my life now,” She laughed a little.

He nodded. “Whenever you’re free, I can come by? Our school schedule is basically the same, I can come by after school but you have a week until you’re back to it.” He smiled a little. “And I can give you my phone number too. Whenever you want to come by, feel free.”

She nodded a little and smiled, "I'm a senior so Ill graduate at the end of the year," she said to him as she wet her lips a little, "Then Ill probably get a job or something," she said lightly.

He nodded a little, "Yes of course," he said to her smiling a little, "I'll cook for you today then tomorrow we can go out for dinner or you can cook for me... wait your brother won't try to kill me will he?

She smiled a little. “We should probably hold off on you meeting my brother, particularly since he can be a bit protective, he can’t know... about you shapeshifting can he?” She asked softly.

He nodded a little. “Anything nearby?” He asked curiously. “I’ll probably keep working on cars,” He smiled a little. “Wanna come back to my place? I can teach you a few things, and we can eat. Can’t cook though,” He said sheepishly.

She nodded a little, "Probably something simple while I do a couple community college classes, " she said to him, "And I can cook if you get hungry Im not completely useless," she said to him.

He nodded a little, "It wouldn't be good - it's on a need to know basis so if it becomes an issue we can tell him," he said to her lightly, "But I'll have to talk to sam about it too,"

“Don’t worry about it, I’ve kept secrets from him before. Plus I can warm him up to you and not throw you to the wolves, total pun intended.” She laughed a little. “Come on, you can come over now,” She told him. “How good are you at climbing out of windows?” She teases lightly.

He smiled a little. “I make great ramen,” He said, grinning a little. “What can you make? I’ll eat literally anything.” He admitted. “And I eat a ton so... I guess heads up.”

She smiled, "I'm great at making italian food - my best friends mom taught me how to cook so its really good.. we'll just have to run to the store though, I'll quadruple the recipe a few times so your dad and mine and sister can have some too," she said to him.

He smiled a little, "I'm great at it," he said to her as he wet his lips, "Just know that I'm only a phone call away," he said to her, "If you ever need anything,"

She smiled a little. “That’s actually really nice to know,” She admitted. “No one has ever been like that for me before,” She said with a shrug. “I won’t bother you with useless stuff though, don’t worry. I know you’re busy,” She smiled a little as she walked back to her car. “Come on, I’m getting a little hungry. “

He groaned. “Italian food, I usually just eat burgers,” He laughed a little. “Like pasta and stuff? What’s your favorite food? To cook or to eat?” He asked curiously. “There’s so much I want to know.”

"I like to cook french food, its pretty easy but american based foods have more seasonings, she said to him smiling a little.

He nodded and followed her back to her car then smiled a little, "You wont have to worry about that ever again - unless I'm on patrol but I'll let you know my schedule before hand,"
