Love in the BAU

Aaron took and got in the SUV and pulled out going for the airport. He smiled over at JJ. They laced their fingers together as he took and smiled lightly. He drove as he kept his hand laced with hers. He knew this case was going to be a little bit tough.

Jessica looked over at Derek and smiled at him, "I like to draw." Jessica admitted. "I rarely get to do that. I love basketball and going to the gym as well." She smiled at Derek. "For fun, normally if i have time. I go out to a bar or something." She shrugged. "What about you?" She asked Derek.

JJ smiled at their laced fingers as they drove to the airport. When they got there, JJ quickly jumped out of the car, grabbing the case files from the backseat. She winked at Aaron when he picked up the duffle bags and carried them to meet up with the other team mates.

She looked at her phone and rolled her eyes a little at the time. "I can't believe we're two minutes late...."

Derek. smiled, "Seems like we have a couple of things in common." He said, "Basketball, going to the gym, and I love a good time out at to a bar or club, especially with a beauty girl." He said with a charming smile. "You'll have to let me take you outside, Cali-Girl. I'm a lot of fun to be around."

Reid couldn't help but roll his eyes a little at Derek's comment, "And there's the Derek Morgan Charming Smile." He teased before checking the time, wondering when Hotch and JJ were coming. "Did Hotch and JJ have to do something before coming the airport? I don't think I've ever known them to be a little late."

Aaron grinned at her, "First time for being late." Aaron laughed as he smiled at JJ. He took and put the bags where they needed to be. Walking onto the plane with her he saw the team and smiled at them. "Sorry we're late. We got held up in some traffic." Aaron apologized sitting in his normal seat and leaning back into it.

Hearing Reid, Jessica laughed. She smiled at Derek, "Maybe." She smiled at him as she looked at her phone seeing a message from her dad. She replied back to him smiling as she laid her phone in her lap looking out the window. She took and kept quiet and smiled thinking about how this might be good for her.

JJ followed behind Aaron into the airport, meeting up with the team. She just blushed a little as Rossi eyed the two of them, giving them a little smirk. She walked onto the plane with Aaron, taking her seat as she looked through each of the case files, making sure that all the information was there for each of the agents.

"Traffic, really?" Reid said as he looked to Hotch and JJ. "We didn't have any traffic coming this way and we only left minutes before you guys." He noted as he sat down in his usual seat.

Rossi chuckled a little at Reid's comment and observation. JJ blushed deeper, "Yeah traffic." She simply said as she buried her face in the files, blushing.

Derek smiled at her maybe. He sat down next to her, waiting the little fun incident play out in front of them. He looked over to Jessica and smirked, "I think you may just be right about them." He chuckled, whispering that to her. "So, what about family?" HE asked. "Whose back home?"

Aaron looked at Reid after his comment, "Yes traffic." Aaron to him and smiled. He took a file from JJ and glanced it over as he took in the information and sighed a little bit. Listing to the chatter around him as he took and smiled lightly in JJ's direction.

"Told you so." She giggled and looked at him at and his question. "My dad is in Texas." Jessica smiled. "He's in the army and he's stationed in Texas." She told Derek and smiled. "My mom died when I was five, and my dad has raised me on his own. I think he did good." She laughed lightly.

JJ looked to Aaron, this was the best time to tell the team. "Alright, Aaron." She said softly with a small smile. "Lets just tell them." She said as she put the folder down to look at Hotch. She looked to the team for a moment then looked back to him once more. "What do you think?" She asked softly.

Derek listened and nodded. "Well my father died when I was young, but my mom is still alive and I'm her Baby Boy." He said with a cheerful laugh He winked at her. "And I agree, your father has done a good job raising you on his own. You seem like a really good person." He looked to her.

Aaron nodded his head and smiled at her. "Now is perfect." He replied to JJ. Clearing his throat he saw the team looking at the two. "So we need to tell you all something." Aaron announced. "JJ and I have been dating for a while, and we wanted to come out in the open with you guys about it." Aaron told them.

Jessica smiled at Derek and started to say something with Aaron began talking. She smirked at Derek hearing the announcement, "Told you so." Jessica giggled and smiled. "Your mom did an amazing job with you. You're very caring, and nothing wrong with being her boy. Because I am a daddy's girl and he get's pretty crazy at times." Jessica giggled.

Rossi laughed and grinned to the two of them. "I knew it, and I'm glad you finally said something." He said, congratulating the two of them.

JJ blushed a little and thanked Rossi. She then looked to Aaron, "Well that wasn't too bad." She laughed a little as she looked back down at the case file. "so what are you thinking, boss?" She asked.

Derek rolled his eyes, "You're right." He smirked. He congratulated Hotch and JJ, then proceeded with his and Jessica's conversation. "You're right, Cali-Girl. There is nothing wrong with being a momma's boy." He said with a cheesy grin. "So, tell me, what has relationships been like for you...if you don't mind me asking." HE said. "I'm just wanting to know if I need to protect my little cali-girl from any psycho exs." He laughed.

Aaron looked at JJ, “Not sure. This one has a different motive. It’s only been the same with the past two.” He told her frowning. “So I am unsure of what he’s attempting to do. We just need to be on our toes, and make sure were ready. He normally strikes seventy-two hours after the body is found. We’re going to be breaking it close. So when we land we need to get moving fast.” Aaron told her.

Jessica heard him ask about ex’s and frowned. “Um.” She rubbed the back of her neck sighing a little. “Well, there is.” She admitted. “He was an abusive ass.” She admitted to Derek trying to keep herself together. “I had married him, and things started going bad.” She frowned.

“So I took and went on about everything. But when it got to be too much, I took and left him. He vowed to get even when we divorced. So but that was two years ago.” Jessica looked at Derek smiling.

“What about you? Any ex’s might come around I’d need to kick their ass?” Jessica asked smiling.

JJ nodded, listening carefully to Hotch's words. "And you know we can do that." She reassumed him as she looked over the case file a little bit more before finally closing it. As she sat there, she couldn't help but smile at Hotch. She seemed a little bit more relaxed now that they had told the team about her and Hotch dating. While sitting in the seat, JJ reached over for Aaron's hand, intertwining their hands together. This just felt right, and she couldn't believe it had taken them forever to finally like this happen.

Derek looked to him, frowning a little at Jessica's words as she spoke about her now-ex abusive husband. People like that had always pissed Derek off, and to think that someone would want hurt someone as beautiful as the woman before him really got under his skin. When she asked about any ex's of his who deserved an ass-whooping, Derek couldn't help but chuckle once more. "No, I think I am okay." He said with a smile. "Believe it or not, all my break ups, not that I've had many, had turned out rather decent; and please don't think I am trying to brag, because I'm not in any way, shape, or form." He reassured as he looked to her.

Rossi stayed quiet, trying to figure out how this was all playing out. Looking to Hotch and JJ, he just smiled. "Seeming as we are going to be in Denver for a while, how are the hotel room arrangements going to be?" He asked curiously. JJ's cheeks instantly turned a shade of pink.

Chuckling, "JJ and I are sharing a room. You and Reid are sharing a room." Aaron spoke up. "Jessica and Derek are sharing a room, as long as they don't mind." Aaron spoke up.

"I don't mind, if Derek don't mind." Jessica replied.

"Then I suppose it's settled." Aaron smiled at Dave as he looked at JJ and held onto her hand looking over the file wondering where he could go with this and where the next attack would happen so he could take and stop it in time.

Jessica smiled, "I'm glad they were all mutual." She wished her divorce had been but knew it wouldn't had been. Jason was a dick and she knew it when she married him. But she went through with it anyways. Sighing to herself she looked ahead as she tried to shake the memories and thoughts away.

JJ smiled as she saw that the team was really accepting to her and Aaron's relationship. She figured that they would, but it still made her think that way until now. She laid back in the seat, relaxing a little more. As she sat there, she cautiously watched Hotch. She could tell that he was trying to figure out the unsub and their next move. With a job like theirs, JJ knew how critical it was to try and be one or two steps ahead of them. "Aaron, we're going to figure this out. We always do." She reassured him as she laid her head on his shoulder, looking over the file with him as well. "What's your thoughts?" She spoke softly.

Derek couldn't help but grin a little cheeky grin when Hotch told them the rooming arrangements. He then looked back to Jessica, and nodded, hearing her comment about his past break ups being all mutual; it was still hard for him to believe that they happened that was as well. Not getting lost in his thoughts, Derek smiled at her. "So, do you think you'll be able to handle sharing a room with me." He teased as he winked at her. Even though Derek was just starting to get to know Jessica, he felt that they were already at that point in this work relationship and friendship to start joking around and teasing each other.

Glancing over at her, Aaron shrugged his shoulders lightly. "I am not sure honestly. I am trying to be ahead of him, but I can't." Aaron told her. "I need to figure out his possible next move and try to get a step ahead if I possibly can." Aaron told her.

Jessica giggled, "I am sure that I can handle you. The question is, can you handle a Cali girl?" Jessica teased him and laughed lightly blushing as she looked out the plane window.

JJ frowned a little. She couldn't help but be a little upset and bothered by Aaron trying to figure out what would be the unsub's next move. Lifting her head off his shoulder, her baby blue eyes looked directly with his dark browns. "You are going to figure this out...you always do." She said softly before kissing him softly on the lips. Quickly and slowly pulling back, JJ moved away, but still stayed close. "Just take a minute to relax." She said as her hands messed with his tie a little.

Derek laughed, "Oh, I think I can." He winked seeing her lightly blush. He thought that was cute, but wasn't going to say anything -- this time. He didn't hear the context of Hotch and JJ, but he saw JJ messing around with Hotch's tie, which definitely struck the man's attention for a moment. He didn't say anything, feeling that a comment wasn't necessary. However, he was just trying to figure when he had ever seen JJ be like this to Hotch. And yes, they had just told them that they were dating. However, it was still something he had to get used to. Pulling out his phone, he looked at the text Garcia sent him. Asking him things like how was Jessica liking the plane ride? Was she getting along with everyone? Was what up with JJ and Hotch? And even to tell him that she really like Jessica and that she was a fit for the team. He chuckled at the lengthy text message but didn't reply; which meant he left he on read, and he knew that would drive Garcia crazy.

Aaron smiled at JJ, "you're right I do. But this time it has me baffled. But I am sure I will figure it out." Aaron whispered and smiled keeping her close to him. Aaron enjoyed the remainder of the plane ride with JJ as they landed. Once they had he walked off issuing orders as to where each team member was to go too. Once he had Reid and Dave assigned, and Jessica and Derek. He walked with JJ to let her talk to some people as he talked to the local police to get an idea of how to strike.

Jessica walked with Derek to the SUV that was waiting on them. Getting inside she buckled up and let him do the driving. "So do you think this guy has a motive behind what he's doing? Or just one of these freaks that likes the thrill of a woman being hurt?" Jessica took and looked over at Derek wanting his opion about things.

When they got off the plane, JJ walked with Hotch. She ended up speaking with the missing victims' families, knowing whatever that they could tell them could be helpful for the case. She had a small notepad with her, so she quickly pulled that out, jotting down some notes as she spoke with the families. It never failed anything that JJ had to talk with the families, her heart just ached for them. To see people in such hurt and pain, and wanting nothing more than to see their loved ones back home safely just broke JJ a little. To this day, she still asked the question of why did people have to do such bad things. When she finished up talking the victims' families, JJ couldn't help but hug them, reassuring them that the team would all that they could to bring the loved ones home. She ended handed them her and Hotch's businness cards, telling them that if they needed anything, just to call. After that was done, JJ walked over to Hotch, wanting to see what the Police told him.

Derek followed Hotch's orders of going with Jessica. He walked with her to one of the SUVs that the BAU had rented, making his way to one of the crime scenes. As he drove, Derek listened to Jessica talk. He shrugged at her questions, thinking about those same questions in his mind. Glancing over at her, he couldn't help but shrug a little. "Well from the looks of it, and the case reports and the profile that we just started to build up, I am thinking that it's turning out to be that. This man, this very sick man, likes the thrill of a woman being hurt. We just need to confirm it, and then see how does he pick his women. We even need to figure out who would be the potential next victim." He noted as he drove. "What else do you think?" He asked.

Aaron saw JJ as he walked with her. "So the police said that he is targeting prostitutes." Aaron said. "What if for him to be doing this, that he had some traumatic childhood? Maybe a relative or even to his mother was one?" Aaron suggested looking at her. "I am thinking that each woman he's took has something that links to this. All three were red heads." Aaron pointed out from the crime scene photos. "Then their all wearing the same dress. Not colors but pattern wise. It's like a fifty themed dress." Aaron pointed to the dress. "This guy is older, that is for sure. But other than that, that's all I have." Aaron admitted to his girlfriend. "Anything with the families?" He questioned.

Jessica held the file in her lap looking over it. "He is targeting prostitutes." She told Derek. "All three were red heads, and when he dumps the bodies. He has them in the same dresses. Different colors and patterns. But the same dresses. That suggests the perp is an older man, targeting younger women. So either he could be traumatic from younger age, or got his heart broken by a younger woman. One of the two." Jessica looked over at Derek.

JJ sighed softly, "Not really. They are just shocked. Can't understand why anyone would want to take their baby girls." She said as she looked to them. "They can't even think clearly right now, so questioning them and getting information from them was a little hard." She explained. "So I am thinking of sitting down with the families tomorrow, individually." She spoke softly. "I just want to give the family some time to process this before I make them deal with the fact that their little girls, well to the families these woman are their little girls." She noted as she looked to him. She started heading back to the car. "I did get some information, but it's very little." She said.

Derek listened to her, "Good profiling." He noted as he drove to the crime scene. Getting there, Derek parked the SUV before getting out. "Alright lets check this out." He said as he walked with Jessica into the crime scene. He looked over the notes that he made while on the plane. "This is definitely something case. But what case isn't." He mumbled as he walked through the crime scene. He took some pictures, trying to figure things out.

Aaron looked at her, "What information did you get?" Aaron questioned her as he took and walked with her to the conference room the local police had given them to use. He began doing the profiling board as he looked at JJ when he was finished.

Jessica took and snapped pictures of the bench where the girl's body had been found. Sighing a little bit she took and shook her head. "What kind of sicko would do this to a woman? Especially a young woman." Jessica whispered to herself snapping pictures.

"Well It seems that the girls have a lot in common." She said as she looked over the information hat she was able to get from the families. She followed him into the conference room, giving him this information. "I even think that the girls know each other, but the families wouldn't come out and directly say that." She noted as she sat down at the table, looking at Aaron. "Could the unsub be targeting a specific group of girls that know each other?"

Derek shrugged as he looked around the crime scene. He never understand certain things about his job, and this was one of them. "That's a good question." He nodded, overhearing her, even though she whispered that to herself. He jotted down some notes as he walked around the crime scene a little more. "What could link these two victims together though..." He mumbled.
