My Demons. [closed]

Mitch had failed to find anything to watch on tv. He had resigned to sorting his army trunk. He had been allowed to keep his service pistol, an some of his other gear. He was busy cleaning the gun when she got home.

Abby walked over to him, seeing him on the couch messing with his gun. "Are you hungry?" She asked as she sat next to him. She could tell he was kind of lost in his own little world. "Mitch." She said, touching his hand slightly.

Mitch jumped slightly when she touched him, he looked around at her, 'oh sorry, what did you ask?" he replied softly. He had surprisingly not even heard her come in.

Abby smiled, holding the food out to him. "I asked if you were hungry." She said, giggling a little.

Mitch smiled, "Oh right, yes thank you," he said quickly. He took the food from her, and moved over on the couch so she'd be able to join him, when she was ready.

Abby got her food and sat next to him. "So, what all did you do today?" She asked as she began to eat her food. She had a feeling he didnt do much.

Mitch shrugged softly, "I just sorted my stuff from work, cleaning everything and stuff," he admitted softly

Abby nodded, "You know you really aren't going to need those things here right?" She explained, watching him. She knew he wanted to cling to what he knew.

Mitch nodded, "yeah I know, but keeping them working is a habit," he admitted. He slowly began to eat his food.

Abby watched him, "I know but we have to get you doing something else Mitch." She told him. She knew it would help him to slowly get into some new hobbies.

Mitch looked up at her, "yeah I'm sure I'll find another hobby in time, I just don't know where to start," he admitted.

Abby nodded, "I know you will. Im just worried that if you spend your time doing this that it isnt going to help you " She told him.

Mitch sighed softly, "I know it's just hard to adjust Abby," he added. He finished eating his dinner and looked at her, "It's hard not having my day set out for me," he noted

Abby looked up from her food, "I know. You will get use to it." She said, smiling a little. She wanted him to not be so worried, but she could tell he was.

Mitch smiled softly at her, "Yeah hopefully," he admitted. He got off the couch, "would you like at drink?" he asked her

Abby watched as he got up, "Can I have a water please?" She asked. She watched as he went to get the drinks then went back to eating her food.

Mitch nodded and left the lounge and poured them both a drink. He was honestly finding this whole thing difficult. He returned to the lounge and handed her a water before sitting back down. "I was thinking we should go surfing tomorrow," he suggested.

Abby smiled, "I would really like that." She replied. She hadn't been surfing in so long and it was going to be nice to finally be able to do it again. She was glad that he wanted to get out and do stuff.

Mitch grinned, "good hopefully I'll feel more comfortable being home, when I find something to do," he noted. He sat back thinking quietly.

Abby smiled, "I am sure you will find something to occupy your time." She said. Once she finished eating she cleaned up the mess and put the leftovers away.
