You're As Cold As Ice [closed]

Erik Abernathy had life made. He was captain of the football team in his junior year of college, which was an impressive feat for him. Everyone knew he was bisexual, and were supportive... at least, they were scared to say they didn’t like it - some of the football team were bullies, even in college. He didn’t have a serious girlfriend or boyfriend, but he did lead a great social life. Yet, despite all this, he still felt like there was something missing. He couldn’t figure out what it was, but he knew he wanted to find out.

The brunet male stretched as he got out of bed early one Saturday morning. He had to get ready this early because the school sports teams were going to a ski resort. His body was aching, though, and he didn’t know how much skiing he’d actually do. He’d taken a nasty tackle from the rivaling team yesterday, and despite the protection his uniform gave him, he hadn’t taken it so well.

Preston finished loading up his jeep with his stuff, watching as a few of his team members climbed inside. They were heading up to the ski resort to spend the weekend. Preston was the star middle linebacker on defense and he just knew he may make it to the pros. That was his plan anyway. He shut the hatch on his jeep, thinking about the asshole he tackled the night before. Abernathy and him never got along. It always ended in a fight when they were near each other. Preston sighed as he walked to the front of the jeep, climbing into the drivers seat. He started the jeep and headed for the Ski resort.

When they arrived Preston her his friend, Aaron groan. "You have got to be kidding me." He said. Preston looked in the direction, seeing Erik and his buddies. "What's wrong Erik you didnt get you ass kicked enough last night?" Aaron called. "Had to come find us for more?" He added. Preston and the rest of his friend chuckled at the teasing.

Erik’s eyes narrowed at the first sound of someone taunting him. His body tensed, and he lifted his head up to stare at Aaron, and... Preston. Shit. What were they doing here? Especially... him. Preston was the guy who had tackled him last night. The last thing he wanted was to see Preston again. He opened his mouth to respond, but one of his pals shook his head to silence him, knowing that he could get in trouble.

He raised a hand, giving Preston his middle finger instead, and started walking away. He didn’t wait to see if the others were following him. He knew they were. But he was moving a bit stiffly, which he didn’t think about Preston noticing.

Preston smirked when Erik flipped him off, "Hey sweetheart any time!" He called. Preston had been open about being gay for awhile now and his team supported him all the way. Which he was very thankful for. He laughed as they walked off, then grabbed his bag. He threw it over his shoulder and started walking towards the lodge, the snow smashing down underneath his boots. He wore a pair of timberlands, jeans and a black and grey flannel with a black shirt underneath that clung to his muscles. He stood behind his friends, pulling his sunglasses off his face as Aaron checked them in. He looked over, his greenish blue eyes meeting Erik's. He turned when he heard his friend say they were ready to go. "Sweet." He said before he followed them to the elevator.

Erik had already checked into the lodge. But his friends had other questions and were being assisted by some of the other staff. He glanced around, his dark brown eyes connecting with Preston’s. He was the first to look away. The other football player made him nervous, especially since Erik wasn’t exactly in his best physical shape right now. The brunet waited for his friends, and then they moved to the elevator.

Preston finished unpacking his things and decided to go check out the hotel alone. He grabbed his jacket, pulling it on before he headed down the hallway. He took the stairs to go down to the lobby, walking out back. He walked out onto the giant patio with a fire place the lodge had and looked around. He walked over to the railing, looking at the snow covered mountains. It really was a beautiful site.

Erik had just been about to stand up from his chair on the giant patio, when he saw Preston. He groaned, rolling his eyes. “Are you just following me around?” He questioned, raising an eyebrow. His friends had left for the slopes, but Erik didn’t think he could manage heading there just yet. His body was still so achy.

Preston chuckled, "Dude last time i checked this was a public patio. I could care less that you are out here." He said. Preston walked over to him, "Shouldn't you be with your friends? Or did they ditch you?" He asked, smiling, his bright white teeth showing. He knew he hurt the guy when he tackled him, but he wasn't going to be a complete asshole. He knew he could be a dick, but he never went out of his way to tease people like his friends.

He sighed, staying put. “Yeah, they ditched me. Your tackle yesterday left me hurting,” he responded. He wanted to ask where Preston’s friends were, but he couldn’t. No... He wouldn’t. Preston was still the enemy in his book, even at these slopes. Though, he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t attracted to the male. Regardless, his friends would have a meltdown if they saw him hanging out with Preston.

Preston nodded, "Yea i figured. I fucking crushed you." He said laughing. He backed away from him, "I guess I will see you up on the slopes tomorrow if you aren't till being a pussy. See you tomorrow dollface." He said, lightly patting the other male's face. Preston walked away from Erik, heading to his room so he could relax.

Erik glared at his back after he walked away. But his cheeks were lightly tinged pink from being called dollface. He returned to his room after a few more minutes. The next day found him about to take the lift up to the top of the slopes. But they wouldn’t allow him to ride alone.

The next day, Preston seen Erik getting on the lift. He jumped in the lift with him and before Erik could get out they headed up. "Well, look who decided to show up." He said, looking at Erik from behind his sunglasses. The sun reflecting off the snow was killer on the eyes. "Don't worry I will make sure you make it back down the slopes." He said, patting Erik's back. He heard there was a storm rolling in, but he didn't know when it was suppose to hit.

Erik growled at him. “I don’t need your help to make it down any slope on this mountain,” he spoke boldly. He was wearing sunglasses as well, knowing it could cause bad damage if he didn’t wear them. He stared forward while the lift took its sweet time getting to the top of the mountain. He was starting light today, but he planned on getting to the harder slopes.

Preston smirked, "Sure you don't." He teased him. He liked messing with Erik. He knew that he upset the boy and made him uncomfortable. Once they got where they needed to be he got off with Erik. He felt the wind pick up, "Try not to get hurt again on the way down." He teased him before he left him there. He stopped when he realized the clouds forming and the snow coming towards them. Preston knew it wasn't about to be good. He felt Erik stop by him, before he started to take his feet out of the ski. "Um..we need to find somewhere to go." He said. He waited for Erik, not going to leave the guy behind in a snow storm. He grabbed Erik and pulled him towards the cave he seen. He could feel the winds whipping and the snow began to surround them. By the time they made it to the cave it was a white out. "Holy shit." He muttered as he threw his skiis down. At least the window couldn't get to them in the cave, but it was still cold. He sat next to Erik, looking at his hands as he sat there in silence with him, listening to the wind.

Erik didn't see the danger Preston did. So he fought against the other, protesting. However, he ended up letting Preston pull him into the cave. “How did you know?” He asked him, shivering badly. Against his better judgement, he nuzzled into the other football player, trembling.

Preston looked at him, "I seen the storm." He said. He felt Erik snuggle against him and looked over as the snow. He couldn't even see past the curtain of white. "We need to find some stuff we can start a fire with." He said. He pulled his phone out, turning the flashlight on and shined around them. He found some sticks and stuff, piling it up. He knew they would probably be here awhile. He pulled a lighter out of his pocket, managing to get a small fire started. He looked around some more, piling up a few sticks and logs that were scattered inside the cave. He didn't go too far from Erik though. He walked back to Erik and sat down, looking at his phone. He had not service, "Do you have service?" He asked, looking over at him, pulling his own sunglasses off. "Fuck." He breathed as he pulled his gloves off so he could use his phone.

Erik shivered as Preston walked away from him, curious what he was up to. The male watched the other with round eyes, his gaze never leaving Preston, not even with he returned to sit beside him. “Preston...” He pulled out his phone, staring at the symbol that meant he had no service. “What the hell are we gonna to do!?”

Preston looked at him, "Calm down. We will wait out the storm and when it is over we will head down the slopes." He said. He didn't know how long it would take. Preston pulled off his bag he had, "I brought like 3 waters and some protien bars with me." He said. Preston figured he would be on the slopes all day so he was prepared. He threw some more wood on their fire. He could tell that Erik was freaked out.
