Nova woke up the next morning, realizing Danny wasn't in bed with her. She got up, walking downstairs, "Danny." She said. She frowned when he didn't answer. "Danny!" She yelled. She looked over as he walked out of his office quickly. She looked at him then walked over and hugged him tightly. She didn't really care that she was in just one of his shirts and one of his gang members was there. "You weren't suppose to leave." She whispered as she held him tightly.

Gwen shook her head and whispered, "I took the blow for Nova." She admitted to him. "That's why I have a concussion. That was my fault, not yours." She told him making him look at her and kissed him softly.

Danny stood up in the morning to go to do work but was just in his office at the moment. He was going t wait for Nova to wake up before he went to take care of Greg. He heard Nova yelling and walked out of his office quickly making sure nothing was wrong. He hugged her back realizing how she was dressed and glanced over seeing his gang member staring and glared barking at him to leave. He watched him leave protectively holding Nova. He then looked down and murmured, "I'm sorry. They came over and I didn't want to wake up." he murmured looking at her face seeing the bruise and frowning softly.

Dimitri kissed her back, "I shouldn't have even brought you around this life." He explained to her.

Nova looked at him, "So they can leave now." She said. She shook her head when he mentioned leaving. "No, you arent. You're staying here." She said. She cried when he said he had to, "Please don't." She begged as she felt herself crying harder. She felt like she couldnt breath.

"No use regretting that now. Because I'm not leaving, Dimitri." Gwen whispered hoping he didn't try to break up with her and felt a surge in her chest at the thought.

Danny watched her and told her he had to leave. He heard her words and shook his head before saying, "I have to, Nov." He heard her crying and frowned seeing her not used to seeing her like this. He picked her up by the waist setting her up on the counter as he looked at her grabbing her face gently in his hands. "Hey." He murmured kissing her. "I'm right here. You can come with me. But I can't have you in the room with me when I do my stuff, and I don't want you to watch either." He murmured watching her softly.

Dimitri looked at her, "I won't forgive myself if something happens to you." He said. He didn't want to think about what he would have done if they didn't get there in time.

Nova looked at him as he set her on the counter. She kissed him back then listened to him. She nodded then hugged him, "I'll sit in your office. Please just..." She buried her face in his neck, "I need to get ready." She said. She slowly pulled away and got down. She walked to their bedroom and got dressed before she found him again, hugging him. She closed her eyes as she listened to him breathing and his heart beating.

Gwen shook her head gently. "You're the one who got shot." She mumbled shaking her head and holding onto him knowing he was hurt and she had to keep it together. She had been so scared, though. She sniffled softly as she just held onto him gently.

Danny watched her hugging her back feeling extremely worried. "I"ll take off a few days after today. I promise." He murmured kissing her again as she pulled away. He stayed where he was before getting his keys and hugging her back. He just held her stroking her hair. "No one is going to touch you again." He murmured in her ear knowing that she was getting someone with her at all times now.

Dimitri chuckled then winced. "Hey I did what I thought would work and it did." He said. He had to save her.

Nova looked at him, "I love you so much." She said as she kissed him. She hugged him again then went to his car with him. She got in the once they got to the warehouse she held his hand tightly as they walked inside. She went to his office with him and when he went to leave the office she didn't let go of his hand. She looked at him, then hugged him again.

Sorry for being MIA!! I went on a trip to see my grandparents and neither of them have the best internet!)

Gwen saw him wince and just kissed his cheek softly stroking his hair lightly and nodded before murmuring, "Just don't worry me so much." She kept her face from view knowing her bruises weren't the most lovely thing to look at.

Danny knew he needed to go check on Dimitri after he dealt with the maggot in his interrogation room. He nodded and kissed her back holding her close. "I love you too." He promised. He held her hand and kept her close as they walked into the office. He glanced back seeing her still holding on and kissed her again before gently tugging on her hand promising he would be back in less than 20 minutes. He headed off to do what he needed to. Once he was in the room, he took his jacket off, loosening the collar of his shirt and glared down at the worm underneath him. He watched him for a moment. When he went to speak, Danny immediately grabbed his head slamming it against the table. He picked him up throwing him through the glass into the other room. He dodged a hit coming from him before punching him square in the nose hearing a sickening crack. While he was down on the floor he stomped on his ribs continuing to dig into it hearing him scream. "That's for Dimitri. And this. This is for touching my wife." He hissed stomping on his face before continuing over and over until he had brains all over his wall. He straightened himself up, before wiping his shoes against the wall to get most of the blood off. He walked out of the room. "Clean that shit up." He muttered before getting back to Nova. "Come on baby. Let's go see how Dimitri and Gwen are doing." He told her gently.

Dimitri sighed, "I will try not to." He said as he kissed her cheek. He was surprised when he heard a knock on the door, "Can you get that?" He asked. Dimitri sat up a little wincing. He sighed when Danny walked in, "Oh God not this asshole." he teased his friend, laughing a little.

Nova bit her bottom lip lightly as he heard the screaming from the office. She took his hand when he came back out. Nova was so glad when he returned. She walked with him to his car and when they got to Dimitris she took his hand and walked inside with him. She smiled at Gwen feeling Danny move away from her. "Hey." She said as she sat down.

Gwen nodded and smiled softly feeling him kiss her cheek. She heard the knock and stood up getting the door seeing Nova and Danny. She let them in before shutting it lightly and nodded at Nova. "Hey." She replied softly. "How are you?" She asked her knowing it was traumatic.

Danny kissed her forehead lightly lacing their fingers together. He smiled softly at her before grinning hearing Dimitri. "Hey! Fuck face! How ya doing?" He asked going towards him letting the girls speak. "Dude. You look like shit." He teased him with a grin.

Dimitri looked at him, "Well you see I got shot because of some dickhead." He teased his friend. Dimitri relaxed and watched his friend, "I'm blaming you." He teased him.

Nova looked at Gwn, "I'm fine." She said as she sat on the couch. "How are you?" She asked. She wasnt going to let anyone know she was struggling. She just wanted to he near Danny. She bit her bottom lip lightly as she listened to him laughing in the next room.

Gwen watched her knowing she wasn't fine -- but she knew it wasn't her place to tell her she wasn't. She wasn't that close to her. "I'm doing okay. Still just in shock mostly." She admitted lifting her hand to her face seeing her staring a little. She turned her face a little.

Danny laughed shaking his head. "Yeah, it's all my fault." He rolled his eyes with a smirk. He looked at him and laughed. 'What the fuck for?" He grinned before waving him off. "I came to see how you were doing and to see if you needed anything. Oh, and don't even think of coming in until a month." He warned him. "I will finish the job." he teased. "Greg here can attest." he teased lifting his shoe a little to show him.

Nova nodded, "Yea but Danny took care of everything today." She said. She leaned back against the couch and thought about what he probably did to that guy.

Dimitri chuckled, "You should have just killed that asshole." He said laughing. He was surprised that Danny didnt kill him. "How is Nova?" He asked.

Gwen nodded and said, "I understand. That doesn't make the feelings or trauma go away though." She mumbled softly before hesitantly taking her hand lightly. "You don't have to talk about it, and I'm not going to push, but you can call me any time if you want to." She told her lightly.

Danny watched him and said, "I did. That's why that's his brain tissue on my foot." He chuckled. "He's dead as fuck." He promised his friend. "Clingy." He admitted with a sigh. "She's not doing well with it. Which, I can't blame her. I'm taking a week off to be with her." he told him. "Don't tell her I tld you that either or I'm dead."

Nova looked at her, not use to people touching her or caring. "Gwen, I'm fine." She said, slowly pulling her hand away. "It was bound to happen eventually." She said to her.

Dimtri chuckled, "And you let me miss it?" He teased. He sighed when he mentioned Nova, "I am sure she will be alright. she is probably just freaked out. After all you are all she has." He said.

Gwen saw her discomfort and pulled her hand away and watched her and shrugged softly. "Just because it was bound to happen doesn't mean it doesn't suck and you aren't freaked out." She replied softly knowing she herself was exhausted and freaked out.

Danny laughed and said, "It wasn't pretty dude." He replied and nodded. "I know. Just not used to it, but i'll live. How's Gwen?" He asked tipped his chin up towards the girls' direction.

Nova frowned, "I am fine really." She said. Nova relaxed against the couch and sighed. She didnt want to admit that she was upset. she never did that.

Dimitri nodded, "She is a little freaked out. She really hasn't said much about it to me. I need to get her to talk to me some more about it." He said.

Gwen just watched her before leaning back into the couch a little. She then realized how hungry she was and figured she would go get them something to eat after Nova and Danny left .

Danny nodded and said, "To be expected. Well, we'll get out of your hair. I'm going to take Nova home. Feel better. Call if you need something." He told him giving him a fist bump before going back out and waving to Gwen before walking out with Nova.

Nova watched as Danny walked out, "I will talk to you later." She said to her. Nova took Danny's hand as they walked out. She got in his car and looked at him. "Do you want to get something to eat on the way home?" She asked him.

Dimtri watched as Danny left then laid down and relaxed. He looked over as Gwen walked in, "Hey." He said, smiling.

Gwen watched them and said her goodbyes nodding to Nova. She went to Dimitri and sat down beside him and smiled back lightly. "Hey. If I were to go out and get something, what would you want?" She asked him. "Oh, wait. I could order us a pizza." She blinked realizing she didn't have to go anywhere.

Danny smiled at Nova lacing their fingers and started to drive. "Sure. What do you want, babe?" He asked her knowing he'd eat anything especially since his appetite was back.
