Sawyer had always had an online presence, even when she was younger. Her parents hadn't been the most approving but they kept a close eye on what she did, at least they had in the beginning. As the years wore on, they had become less diligent in reading her messages and strict on what she did on the internet. Almost a year ago, she had started talking to Tyler, a 16 year old boy who lived an hour away from her. She had pretty much instantly gone head over heels for him - hazel eyed, dimpled boys made her knees weak. After months of talking about meeting each other, the day had finally arrived. Tyler's uncle, Ryan, had offered to drive him down so they could meet. She hadn't told anyone because she just knew everyone would get on her case that it was a bad idea. All the strange people on the internet, you had to be careful. Which was why she had chosen to meet them at the local mall - tons of people were around, nothing would happen to her.

She sat in the food court, nervously sipping at the smoothie she had bought herself. Sawyer kept glancing at her phone, leg bouncing. They would be here any minute and she could finally meet Tyler! Sawyer couldn't remember the last time that she had been so excited - nervous but excited.

Ryan kept glancing back and forth, side to side, a few times over once he found himself in the middle of the food court. He was nervous, but not for the reasons he probably should've been. He was meeting Sawyer today, and he had to play his cards right, otherwise people would take notice.

For the better part of a year, they'd exchanged messages back and forth. Only, she didn't think she was meeting him. She was here to meet Tyler, Ryan's nephew as far as she knew. Ryan didn't have a nephew named Tyler; he'd been posing as the boy for as long as they'd been talking. He was good at hiding behind a computer screen, anyway, and it helped ease his mind a little that Sawyer was just as excited to meet him as he was her.

He let out a sigh, about to give up his search and message her again when he spotted her at a table by herself, cup in her hand. He took a few breaths, readying himself to talk to her, introduce himself.

He dug his hands in his pockets as he walked over, giving the younger girl a warm smile. "I'm Ryan. You must be Sawyer?"

Sawyer couldn't remember a time when she had ever been this nervous with anything in her life. Tests and rehearsals were always nerve wracking, sure, but they were nothing compared to meeting her boyfriend of nearly six months. She didn't even think she would even be nervous to meet Tyler's uncle since he wasn't who she was with.

She hoped if all things went well today, she could start telling her parents about Tyler. She could tell them and eventually introduce her boyfriend to her parents. Just the thought was enough to make her sick to her stomach with anxiety. Looking up when she felt eyes on her, Sawyer smiled a bit apprehensively when she saw who was approaching her. It definitely wasn't Tyler but when the man introduced himself, she relaxed a bit.

"Hey, yeah. I'm Sawyer," she sat, moving to standing while waving at Ryan. "Nice to meet you," she said, chewing on the inside of her lip. "I.. uh, where's Tyler?"

He smiled brightly at that, moving to lean against one of the chairs. "Tyler's in the car. He felt a little sick this morning, so he didn't want to talk somewhere so.. loud. We can go meet him out there, if you'd like."

Ryan flashed another grin her way, moving to stand when she shifted with what he guessed was nerves. He couldn't help the smirk that made its' way to his lips, glancing at the watch on his wrist to try and hide it. It was so like her to worry; in the months they'd been talking, he'd gotten into the habit of having to talk her through more than a few things.

"If it helps, Tyler's a little nervous, too. He's crazy about you, you know? Talks about you all the time."

They'd started to walk back through the food court again, past the majority of people by now. One more stretch of stores and they'd be in the parking lot, so he was careful about choosing his words. He couldn't afford for her to draw attention yet.

As nervous as Sawyer was, her heart swelled and her nerves drifted away when Ryan mentioned just how nervous Tyler was. A smile broke out on her features as she took a sip of her smoothie before replying. "He is? That's.. that's great," she forced the words out, not so sure she even knew how to handle this situation. She was nervous and excited, it was like she had never been in this sort of situation before so she had no way how to handle it.

Sawyer smiled as they stepped outside, looking up to Jared. "Thank you for bring Tyler all the way out here. I'm so excited to meet him. Nervous, sure, but I can't wait to see him in person!" She exclaimed as they started to approach his vehicle at the back of the lot.

Alarm set in when she realized how far away Ryan had parked from every other vehicle but she tried to ignore it as best as she could. She was sure it was just her nerves freaking out, nothing more. Clearing her throat, Sawyer started to reach for the back door of the suv, not quite aware of what was going on since the windows were tinted. As she pulled the door open and realization dawned on her, the smoothie cup fell from her hand as she opened her mouth to scream.

As soon as the cup fell from her hand, Ryan made a quick movement of wrapping an arm around her, covering her mouth with his hand. He held the girl against him tightly, looking around to make sure no one had taken notice.

"If you fight me, it'll end up worse for you, sweetheart," Ryan warned her lowly, his eyes darkening slightly as she looked up at him. Her screams were muffled against his hand, and he had more than a little trouble of stuffing her into the backseat and strapping her in.

He stuffed a rag into her mouth, ziptying her hands together once she was secured with the seatbelt. He gave her a tight smile, leaning against the door as he looked her over. "I really wanted to be nice, Sawyer, but you didn't leave me any choice. You'll learn soon enough that I always get what I want. You're no exception."

Sawyer started to struggle against Ryan, twisting this way and that as she fought against being shoved into the back seat. She whimpered, turning her head this way and that as she tried to get away from the rag before it was unceremoniously shoved into her mouth. She gagged, trying to stop him from securing her wrists together. Ryan's words made her sick to her stomach and she tried to move away from him to no avail, her shoulders dropping when Ryan finally shut the door.

Tears welled in her eyes as she sniffled, refusing to let them fall. Sawyer straightened, leaning up in her seat to struggle with her phone out of her back pocket. She wasn't even paying attention to where Ryan was, desperate to reach out to someone about the situation. She had never told anyone about her arrangement to meet Tyler because she was sure that they would have just told her that it was stupid and dangerous. And they would have been right.

Her fingers struggled to type from the way her wrists were tied together but she did her best, knowing it was likely her only chance to reach out to anyone.

As soon as Ryan made his way to the driver's seat, he swiveled in his seat, his eyes narrowing just the slightest bit. It angered him, mostly, that Sawyer was so deadset against him and willing to do anything to leave just as he was doing to keep her. She loved him. She admitted that much to him a few weeks ago, and it had gone both ways. Sure, he wasn't Tyler as far as looks went, but the two were one in the same and he couldn't understand why she didn't get that.

He knocked the phone of out her hands, shattering the screen when he had possession of the device. "You.. I'm going to give you everything, and you're still on this, Sawyer?"

He shook his head after a second in disbelief, almost to tell her that she had no right - nothing justifiable - to act this way. "You remember what we talked about, don't you?"

His voice dropped lower now as he glanced at her through the rear view mirror, wiping his hands on his jeans as he turned the car to life. That was more or less how they'd met, anyway. He'd been in and out of chat rooms and forums, arguing with people over what the lifestyle entailed. And then he found her. The perfect little girl.

Sawyer froze when Ryan turned his attention to her, not even able to bring herself to try and continue to text her best friend. She was frozen with fear, afraid of what the future held for her. She flinched away from Ryan, pulling her knees to her chest to try and pull herself as far away from him as possible.

Ryan's words were enough to spark her tears as she fought back a sob, her heart skipping a beat. Of course she had discussed these things with Tyler when she had thought that Tyler was real and now that it wasn't who she had spoken to, she wanted nothing to do with it. She hated it because she knew that Ryan knew what she thought she would like and what she would want to explore.

Reaching up with shaking hands, Sawyer pulled the rag from her mouth. "P-Please. I... I don't... w-want to. D-Do this. L-let me go, please. You don't... y-you don't have to... do this," she struggled, pulling against the zipties on her wrists. It hurt but she was basically desperate to get away. "Please! I don't want anything from you!"

Ryan let out a throaty laugh at her pleas, shaking his head. "Oh, sweetheart.. you have a lot to learn." After a moment of her choked cries and pleading, he gave a lopsided grin. "I don't want anything from you, Sawyer. I want you."

He hoped that maybe, if he were lucky, she'd wear herself out from the fighting and the crying. In his experience, anyway, it was nearly bound to happen sooner rather than later. They had quite a drive to the cabin he was taking her to, and he didn't want her to be able to recognize her surroundings if she ever did get out.

"In an hour, we wont be in California anymore, Sawyer. No one will know where to find you or even start looking. You best get used to the idea."

Sawyer shifted in her seat, pulling her knees as tight to her chest as she could. Watching Ryan warily, she struggled to contain her fear. She wanted nothing more than to break down and cry but she knew better, she couldn't let Ryan get the best of her. If she did, he would win and she would have less of a chance to get out of this. She knew that it wasn't going to be easy by any stretch of the imagination but she hoped she would be able to figure it out. She didn't have any other choice.

She turned away from Ryan, her heart sinking when Ryan said they would be leaving the state shortly. It made her sick because she knew the further they travelled, the less likely the cops would be able to find her.

A sob bubbled inside of her chest, one she had no hope in stopping. Sawyer's shoulders sagged as she hung her head, trying to keep herself as quiet as possible. She hated that Ryan would think he was successful but before long, she had cried herself to sleep, curled into a tight ball in the back seat of his truck.
