I walked out of my apartment in a daze. I could feel something big was about to happen, but I was desperate to ignore the feeling. And to add on top of that, I was going to be late. I worked at Teller-Morrow Automotive to help Gemma and also as the bartender when they held their parties. I rushed out to my car driving as fast as I could get away with, I was dead set on trying to be there as quickly as I could.

Parking next to Gemma’s car, I got out and headed into the office. “Sorry, Gem. I slept through my alarm,” I said, knowing that was a lame excuse.

I was getting a tool when I had saw Kalie rushing into the office. I shook my head, not overly concerned about it. It was rare that she was late but she would find some way to make up for it. I glanced over at Happy who was underneath the car next to me. He had come down and was hoping to get back in with the Charming Charter. We all knew that he would be back in without any issue.

Jess stepped out of the shower wrapping a towel around her body and walked out of the bathroom and put on her black and lime green corset that laced up in front followed by a pair of black pants it was a special day for herself and her kids she was meeting the other side of her family once she was ready to go she put her kids in her doge viper it was the one thing she owed that made her the most money she was hoping Snake would get her back into races again but that was something that was still up in the air as she pulled into the shop she was told to meet her father and half brother at.

Happy was working on one of the cars and listing to the guys talk he noticed that Kalie was late which was unusual for her but they where running slow but when a Doge Viper pulled up he was surprised and walked inside and said "hey Kalie why are you so late your almost never late for work" as he slid out from out from underneath the car he was checking over when he noticed a nice looking Viper pull in and said "I wonder who owns that" when he saw a women get out it he said "I hope she's here to get her car worked on it would be nice to look under the hood of it".

Kalie smiled as Gemma waved off the apology with a 'just don't make it a habit' comment. She looked out the window to see Jess come running up. Kalie smiled lightly and stepped out of the office. It wasn't hard for her to see Happy checking the car out. There was something about him that caught her attention she first saw him, but at the same time that glare he had made her unsure what he thought about her. He had barely said two words to her in the few weeks of him being here.

Chibs looked over at the girl that had shown up in the Dodge Viper. He felt completely curious about her. The way it had sounded he could tell that it had something powerful under that hood. Chibs' eyes darted back to the girl who had driven the car, and he was curious about her.

Jess sighed she knew her doge didn't sound right so she popped the hood taking a quick look then started texting everyone she knew that she trusted with her Doge because it was an legal race car and not a lot of people knew much about them but unfortunately no one had time to look at it her buddies fox wasn't in town and Snake was busy so she had no idea what she was going to do as she closed to hood and took her kids out of the car along it wasn't long before Issac decided it was a good idea to explore so she ended up having to catch him.

Happy walked inside the club house and said "hey Opie I think your sister's here then sat down at the bar with a beer his car was done so he was done for the day he was happy that he got time to relax and hang out with the club the guys were talking about how to make more money where talking about some races that had been growing more popular in Nevada the chapter out there had been making good money only problem was the only problem was they had gone so far under ground that they had to get an invite to one of the races.

Chibs watched as Opie come out of the club house. He almost went up to her but if he wanted to get the car out on time, then he better get back to the car. Though it was still an interesting to see a pretty girl like her show up to the lot. Getting his tools back in his hands, he moved back to the car. He was trying to focus on what he was doing as hard as it seemed to at the moment.

"Hey, Kalie, can you get the books from the club house?" Gemma asked. "You know how Clay is, dragging them out of this office to review them."

Kalie looked up and nodded. She got up from her chair and walked across the lot and headed straight for the clubhouse. Inside some of the guys were hanging out. Her eyes darted over to Happy who was sitting at the bar. She met his eyes for a second, and she quickly darted her attention elsewhere. She needed remember where Clay usually took the books.

Jess caught her son as a guy in a black leather and a bard vest walk out of the building and walk towards her causing Issac to hide behind her leg she could tell he was scared as she too her sons hand and walked over to the guy and said "hey can you help me I'm looking for my half brother Opie as he son hid behind her leg Issac was always shy with new people but warmed you to them pretty quickly.

Happy listened to what the guys had to say then said "if we set up races and they get anywhere 2 to 6 grand depending on how many racers are there then that's a great way to make some good money if we take half of the money question is how do we get in on it" Jax shook his head and said "that's the catch you have to someone who is a part of a race crew and the only one I know of don't trust us enough to get us in".

Opie looked at her and gave her smile. He glanced at the kid hiding behind her legs. "Well, you're looking at him," he said, giving a smile. "May I ask why you are looking for me?" He kept his distance, hoping that he wasn't scaring the little boy too much. It was something that he was always aware of. A lot of people that didn't know him seemed to think he was a little scary.

Kalie heard the boys muttering to each other, and she knew well enough not to get involved on it. She minded her business and did her job, and they treated her like family. It was just how it went. She went behind the bar into the little storage room hoping to see if that was where Clay had left the books. When she heard footsteps behind her, she turned to see Happy standing there. Feeling a strange spark of courage, she said, "Are you gonna turn and run off like you always do?"

Jess shook her head and said "hm I wonder you and your dad have only been asking me to move here since my mother died then asked me to come here to meet you so Ask and and so you shall receive and this little guy is Issac he's five and this little girl here in my arms is Ivy so if your the half brother I never knew about these would be your niece and nephew" as she adjusted her squirmy 15 month old daughter then said "now tell me where is your old man"as her phone lit up with a text which she read real quick then mumbled under her breath "you have got to be kidding me Snake".

Happy shook his head and said "I don't run off I just get called to do stuff +when you want to talk is all but Gemma asked me to help you find the books that Clay put away and can't remember where he stuck them luckily I know right where he put them as he took them out of the closet in the room and gave them to here and said "I think these are the ones that she wants but if you want you can grab a beer and talk a minute I'm not doing anything right now" as he turned to walk out of the room holding the door for her once she walked out he closed the door behind them and headed back to the bar.

Opie smiled. "He's up at the cabin," he said. He glanced around and saw Chibs in the shop."I'll give him a call and get him down if you like. But I'm going to leave you Chibs for a sec while I do. Oh, and your kids are pretty." He went over and explained to Chibs what was going on who nodded. Opie couldn't help but notice the interested look in the Scotsman's eyes.

Kalie followed after Happy. "You seem to avoid me more than just when the guys call you. Do you not trust me or something?" she asked. Kalie almost hated to admit it, but she had been attracted to Happy from the first moment she met him. When he barely acknowledged her, she assumed he hated her or that there was something wrong with her. Kalie never brought it up to Jax or Juice who she was the closest to in the clubs, but she was tempted.

Jess nodded and said "okay" as she opened the passenger of her car and sat down with ivy on her lap and called her friend and told him about the sound the Viper was making and was not happy about what he had told her and with out thinking she yelled "what do you mean someone else has to fix her really how many people do you know that can fix a car that is built for racing now find someone who can have it fixed before my run tomorrow.

Happy shook his head and said "I don't avoid you I just don't talk to women much mostly because it's not my strong suite I mean if you think about it how many women do you see me talking too other then Terra and Gemma so it's not really you if it made you feel like I was avoiding you at all and I'm a pretty quite guy normally so I don't talk a lot anyway unless it's important" as he sat down art the bar and finished his beer and getting another.

Chibs looked at the girl on the phone he could hear the annoyance in her voice. When she was off the phone, he moved closer to her. "I can always give your car to look. I like to think that I'm really good under the hood," Chibs said, giving her a smile. He was trying not to scare her.

Kalie looked at Happy. She wanted to call him out on the croweaters she had seen hang all over him at parties, but that wouldn't be fair. They didn't count, and they always seemed to be the one to approach him. Kalie looked at him. "Well, I feel rude. The rest of the guys hadn't been as standoff-ish with me as you have, so I guess I just assumed that you straight up hated me," she said in a weak form of apology.

Jess looked at him and said "not to sound rude but I don't you guys see anything built like my doge so I'll just have my friend fix it when I go to Nevada tomorrow but I wish the plan to meet the family at wanted to meet me had been thought out better because i have to work in about an hour and my so called father that wanted to meet me and was supposed to be here isn't so I have to get my kids to my friends house she can watch them tell Opie he can find me at the Snake pit it's the new bar that my friend and opened and you know maybe you can come check it out sometime too" as she bucked her kids in the can then wrote the address down for him then got ready to leave.

Happy nodded and said "no I don't hate you and i never knew you felt that way how about we take off for a while we can get something to eat and hang out that is if you really want to get to know me cause i would like to have time to get to know more about you" as he looked over at the attractive women next to him she was always different them most of the women that hung around the club which to him was great considering that by his standards she was a real women who actually wanted to be around him and hget to know him not just one of the porn stars that just wanted to make the club happy because it meant they got more money and other perks that came with the club.

Chibs watched the girl unsure what to say or do. He went back to working on the car still trying to figure out how he could approach her without her being too defensive. Since he did not know her past, he couldn’t blame her for that. He refused to be judgemental about people’s past since he had one of his own that he didn’t really like to share with just anyone. “Well, if you change your mind at any point, I would be more than happy to have a look. You would be surprised what I know about cars, street and racing cars,” he called out, trying to be as friendly as he could.

Kalie smiled, almost not believing that this was happening. She had never thought there would be a day that Happy Lowman invited her to hang out with him. She nodded her head and said , “Yeah, that sounds very nice.” As much as she had become resigned to the fact that she had to admire him from a distance, she was always hopefully that would change one day. And maybe this was the day. She got up and followed him out to the parking lot. “So do you want me to follow you or are you giving me a ride on your bike?” she asked hopefully that she got to ride on the back of his bike so she could wrap her arms around him.

Jess sighed and said "alright I'll let you take a look but from what my friend told me going by the sound he thinks that it might either be the Nitro system again or she needs a full tune up before some friends and I head to Nevada for the weekend and just to let you know everything under the hood is designed for speed and power" as she opened the hood on the car for him.

Happy looked at her and said "I can get you a ride" as he stood up and walked out side with her helping her onto his bike and before he started it he said "I also have to pick something up for the club on the way back the sheriff has some intel for us that might help make more money that's off the atf radar" then took off into town he took her to his favorite quite little cafe and parked then helped her off the bike before getting off himself.

Chibs smiled and nodded. “It looks like it has been built for jut that. And I love working on cars like this,” he said as he went over to look at what was under the hood. He checked the easy to get to parts first like he always did and moved from there, going down his normal checklist. He went into his mental zone and found peace. This was what he loved to do.

Kalie smiled seeing the little cafe. She had heard some talk about the place but had yet to go here. And here Happy had brought her here. She still couldn’t get over the fact that she got to ride on his bike with her arms wrapped around him. She walked next to him as they entered the place. She could feel the eyes of the workers and the costumers look up. Some of the workers looked from Happy to me and seemed to be shocked.

Jess nodded and said "she was made to race and that's what she dose but I really do have to get to work so I don't have a lot of time lucky for me my friend will be coming to get the kids and here she is" as she took her kids over to her friends car buckled them in and sent them off so they didn't have to sit and wait on her car she didn't trust him to know what he was doing with an illegal race car but she didn't have a choice at this point as she saw a blond walk out.

Happy smiled at her as he sat down in a booth with her and said "this place has the best burgers in town" as the waitress walked over to them and said "hey happy do you want your normal delux burger and fries with a large coke" happy nodded before the women turned to Kalie and said "and what can I get for you today" in a nice tone of voice after the order where taken she walked away and happy said "that's why I like this place they people get to know you and remember what you like".
