Kendra was in her office doing some paperwork when she heard someone come in and talk with her secretary. She got up and walked out. “Is everything alright?” She asked. She saw a young man who was holding his head. “Sir are you okay?” She asked as she walked over to him.

The man was dressed in a sort of uniform, he was cursing softly. "I was hoping to see if you'd see a resident of ours today, we can figure out what his problem is," he explained quietly. He had been struck in the head by something, and his head still ached.

He and his partner had been given the job of transporting the youth hostel's most recent resident to Miss Steele's office. The resident was Zack, he was restrained in the back of the transport van struggling and fuming. He had lived on the street for as long as he could remember.

The guard smiled weakly at Miss Steele, "so will you see him, your receptionist said you have some spare time today," he asked lightly.

Kendra watched the man who was pacing, wondering what was going on. She nodded as she listened to him. "Yes I will be willing to see him and figure out whats wrong" she said. She walked out with the worker to the back of the van.

Zack was in the far corner of the truck tugging against his restraints. He kicked at the guard as he tried to approach.

The guard sighed, "see everytime we get close he lashes out, he hasn't spoken a word to anyone at the hostel," he explained stepping out of the truck and moving towards Kendra.

Zack looked up at Kendra briefly, with a blank expression. He had had problems with his father, and other foster father's and had very little respect for men.

Kendra watched him as he struggled. She cautiously got closer to him, hoping the patient would calm down. "Step back" she said to the guard. Once he did, she leaned down. "Zack I am here to help you. There is no need to be afraid" she said softly, in a reassuring tone. She hoped it would calm enough that she could bring him into her office without incident.

Zack's eyes watched the other guard, as he stepped back Zack's body language changed slightly. He turned looking at the woman in front of him. He didn't speak a word, but gently raised his hands up in the restraints.

It was the calmest Zack had been since he'd been dropped off those few days ago. He was clearly either faking it hoping to get away, or genuinely willing to go with this new woman.

The other guard peeked his head around the side of the truck, when he heard the trashing and struggling stop. As soon a Zack noticed him he recoiled back again.

Kendra watched Zack as he raised his hands up. She walked over to him and carefully took off the restraints before going to the restraints on his legs, taking them off as well before helping him up. "Ill take it from here"she said to the guards who left. She lead him into her office. "Would you like a glass of water?" she asked him kindly.

Zack tentatively stood up and followed her. He kept his eyes on the floor, looking up every now and then to see where he was going. Once in her office her looked around, he shook his head to her question. He moved over to the couch and sat down.

He was wondering what to expect from this, he didn't trust people much in general.

Kendra sat down in her chair which was a good distance between them so he would have enough space. She didn’t want him to feel crowded. “So tell me what’s going on” she said as she grabbed her notepad. “And don’t worry you can tell me anything and I will not judge” she said gently, trying to assure him that she could be trusted.

Zack lay back on the couch getting comfortable. He didn't feel like talking that much, he hadn't gotten much sleep over the last few days, he didn't acclimate to new places or people well. He looked over at her, "I'm just gonna sleep for a bit," he commented, before going back to looking at the ceiling.

Kendra watched him as he laid down. She was expecting him to talk, maybe not his whole life story but something that would be progress. Almost protesting, She shifted in her seat. “Alright. I’ll be at my desk if you need anything” she said before she went to her desk and began typing her reports for the day.

Zack was surprised by her response, it kind of threw him. He lay back speechless for about ten minutes before finally breaking the silence. "I don't like staying in that place, the guards are going to hurt me' he commented.

Kendra typed her reports and almost forgot he was there until he spoke again. She looked up from her computer. "I am sure I can find you a place and they will not harm you, I will make sure of that. Will a hotel room be okay with you?" she suggested. If he was a regular patient, she would have offered a room in her house but he was a stranger to her.

Zack kept lying on his back, "I don't think you're allowed to do that," he admitted. He turned to look at her, "apparently I need 24 hour supervision," he said lightly. It was extremely odd for him to be talking at all, it was highly likely that his file was blank, save for a comment about him not speaking at all to any of the previous doctors.

Kendra looked at him. She bit her lip when he said he needed supervision. "Well you can stay with me. I have a spare bedroom" she said. She didn't want him to stay with her since he was stranger but if anything had happened to him and she wasn't there, she would have felt guilty about it.

Zack looked over at her, and waited for a moment. He was surprised she was willing to let him stay, he wasn't sure whether he should trust her, but he didn't feel safe at the current place. "Thank you, it'll be better than the current place," he admitted softly. He sat up, "So what's your name doc?" he asked

Kendra watched him. “My name is doctor Stelee. What is your name?” She asked softly, wanting to know more about him, wanting to help him. Since that was her life’s work.

Zack paused for a moment, listening to her answer. He was surprised she asked his name, he was sure it would be in the file she had on him. He smiled softly, "I'm Zack, I don't usually like people," he said honestly. He shifted and lay back down. "So Dr. Stelee, why did they bring me to you?" he asked.

Kendra smiled softly when he said his name. She knew his name but she wanted him to talk to her. "Well I am a specialist when it comes to psychology" she said as she began writing some notes. "So tell me what's been going on lately" she asked so she could write down any episodes and triggers.
