The Vengeful Ones

Jaelynn rolled her eyes at his response, Seriously? She texted him, before putting her phone way. Watching as things went on around her before pulling it out again. Don't bother anymore, because if you really can't understand why I'm mad at you in the first place then forget it. It's behind us, move on and just leave me alone, you've done it once. She sighed as her mother lead them out of the room. She lagged behind a bit feeling rather relieved to be going home. But at the same time she was just so tired, she really didn't even want to go to school the next day.

Nova walked into Jaelynn's house and glanced around it was huge. She was so glad when she was handed a phone charger. She plugged her phone in then walked with Jaelynn to the guest room. She looked around and looked at her parents behind them, "Thank you for helping me." She said. When she was left alone she turned her phone on and sat in the chair, calling Danny. She was so glad when he answered, "Danny." She breathed.

Ryker sighed, Look I know I was an asshole. Please just can we be friends at least. I liked hanging out with you. He laid on his bed and looked at the ceiling.

A soft groan left his lips as his hand dug into his pocket fishing out his phone. Peering though cracked lids he answered the call before placing the phone to his ear. "Hello," he groggily stated into the phone. Whoever was calling him this late must be having an emergency, because if they weren't before he'd be glad to make it one. Hearing her voice he almost dropped the phone. Why was she calling now. "What do you want Nova?" He asked rather hatefully, just wanting to return to sleeping.

Jaelynn read over his text, her chest hurting. There it was. Freinds, just freinds. She knew nothing would come from it and knowing now was better than having a year long hope. I don't see the point. She knew she could at least be nice to him, but she was still nursing hurt feelings. Goodnight. She hoped he understood she was ending the conversation.

Nova frowned when she heard him sounding pissed. "I just wanted to explain to you why I didnt show up." She said quietly. She felt like he hated her and she didn't think she could handle Danny not liking her.

Ryker frowned as she texted him and sighed. He tossed his phone and laid back on his bed. He knew she was home because the lights in her house were on. He decided he would go over to her. He walked out of his house and texted her to come outside.

Danny could hear the tears in her voice and it made him groan in responses. He hated when she cried and he didn't want to be the cause of it this time. Letting out a soft sigh he sat up in before rubbing his face, "why don't you come over then?" He suggested knowing that he still wanted to see her but he was afraid of getting hurt again. He knew that he shouldn't but Nova had his heart in her hands. He knew that if she didn't want to come over then it was up to her.

Jaelynn glared at her phone, she knew she'd ended this conversation. Rolling her eyes she finished changing into her night clothes. Moving to her bed she pick up her discarded phone before opening the message. Nibbling on her lip she debated weather or not she wanted to risk getting caught going out. Deciding to just deal with the consequences later she headed down stairs. She could hear her mother and step father talking in the living room as she past by but they were so lost in each other she was able to slip out side unnoticed. Moving to the edge of her porch she looked over Ryker's house, noticing his figure moving it's way across her lawn.

Nova bit her bottom lip lightly when he suggested her coming to his house. She decided it was worth sneaking out. "Okay." She said. She sneaked out of Jaelynns house then headed to Danny's. It was a long walk and she wished she was still next door. She climbed through his window, smiling when she seen him. Though she still had stitches on her cheek and bruises on her arm. She hugged him before he could say anything and held him tightly.

Ryker came up to Jaelynn's porch. "Hey." He said, looking at her. "Look I'm really sorry about everything. I like you a lot and I hate that we are just stuck in this rut " He explained to her.

Danny listened as she agreed to come over then hung up the phone. He was glad she'd agreed to, but he wondered why missed their date. He wanted more than anything to stay mad at he and maybe he could finally move on. But he couldn't just ignore her either. Knowing why she stood him up would give him piece of mind. And he knew he couldn't always stay mad at her. So when she didn't show up right away he started wondering if something was wrong. After a bit he gave up and went up stair, heading for bed. As he entered his room he pulled his shirt over his head and kicked his shoes off. His movement halted when he heard movement outside his window. Turning to face Nova as she crawled into his room. His eyes going wide as he took in her appearances. His anger boiling over though it had a new target. He felt himself relax quite a bit once she was wrapped around him, his arms encasing her and holding her tightly to him. God he was an idiot. Being pissed at her for something stupid, when she'd been being hurt. "What did that fucker do to you?" He breathed out, before pulling back lightly. His hands cupping her face gently as he took in the damage it has sustained.

Jaelynn sat down on her porch, as she stared at him. He was towering over her just a bit, but she didn't know what to say to that. What did he mean he liked her a lot. Like was he confession his feelings for her, and were they leaning more friend like or lover. She was so confused by this boy. But she couldn't help the attraction she had for him. He'd always been nice to her, even when he did have a girlfriend. It was just she'd been jealous but she couldn't do that again. "I honestly don't know what to say, you're not telling me something you haven't already said. And we've discussed this, I don't see the point in being friend anymore." She shrugged it off like it was nothing big to her.

Nova looked at him as he cupped her cheeks, "Honestly, it's all kind of a blur." She whispered. "I didnt show up for our date because I was in the hospital and Jaelynn has me staying at her place now and it's all just this giant mess." She explained. "And I couldnt call you because my phone was dead. I'm so sorry Danny." She said. She didnt want him to be mad at her.

Ryker frowned, "I said I wanted to start out as friends." He said. "I wanted to eventually be more than friends." He said. "I know your pissed but I think we can work something out." He told her. He hoped she would let him.

A thousand question ran through his mind, who was Jaelynn being one. But he didn't care about any of that at the moment. "It's okay baby." He told her before he pressed his lips to her, his kiss soft and sweet. "As long as you are okay and safe, I don't care." He whispered out, his lips claiming her once again. He was just thankful she was alright. They would always be able to plan a date later. Right now he didn't care, knowing she cared for him and hadn't stood him eased all his negative thoughts on the matter.

Jaelynn was taken back by the tone of his voice as he showed aggression, her words clearly having angered him. Tucking her head she didn't know what to say to that. Sure she'd wanted to be more than friends at one point but it still didn't change the fact he'd pushed her aside for another girl. What's to say it didn't happen again, all her thoughts were jumbled in her head. But she did really like him. Nibbling on her lip she wondered what was the harm in trying, if it happened again all she had to do was go back home like she'd originally planned. Her friends back home would be happy to see her and she could find love there. "What's there to work out?" She questioned him, wondering just what he felt they needed to work on. Sure she'd need time to get over being pissed at him, but other than that.

Nova kissed him back and she was so glad that he wasn't mad at her. She placed her hands on his sides before she kissed him once more. She pulled away from him, "Can I stay with you for the night?" She asked as she looked around his room.

Ryker looked at her, "Well we obviously are going to need time to get to know each other better and you are going to want some time to get over hating me." He said, watching her. He knew he would have to give her space.

Danny nodded at her question, before he pulled entirely away from her. "You know you don't have to ask." He told her, it was always an option for her to stay. He knew that taking thing slow was the wise thing to do, though with this girl he never did anything wise. Moving to his dresser he pulled out one of his shirts. Handing it to her he figured she'd be more comfortable in it. Normally they never discussed things about her staying, they'd just pass out due to exhaustion.

Jaelynn peered up at him knowing he was right, they both had been rushing into things. And she liked what she saw, it was simple. But she knew nothing about him, it was why she was so easily pushed aside. He was lusting after another girl, like a normal teenage boy. "You're right I still need to get over that." She rolled her eyes. "But what happens if I can't?" She asked knowing he still didn't realize just what he'd done wrong. And she really didn't want to waste her time falling for him and then watching him leave.

Nova took the shirt from him and smiled. She began to take her clothes off then pulled his shirt on. She climbed into the bed and got under the covers. She ran her fingers through her hair, "Thank you for letting me stay." She said. She got comfortable and waited for him to lay down.

Ryker sighed, "Then I guess I will just be hanging around until you do." He said as he watched her. "I am sorry though." He told her. He was hoping she would forgive him. He knew she would need time though.

Danny smiled at her turning as she pulled her close off, allowing her a bit of privacy in changing. He knew he'd already seen it, but it just felt like the right thing to do. Turning out the light, then slipped out of his pants and settled into bed next to her. "You're welcome." He told her before turning to face her. His hand coming up to caress her face, still not believing what that man had did to her. "You're sure you don't have to go back to them?" He asked, knowing they could get mad she'd snuck off.

"Are you going to get into a habit of that?" She questioned him her eyes lifting to meet his sorrow filled ones. "Just tell me what I want to hear." She enlighten him. "Because it's not going to make me like you." She'd been used by people, her father being one of them. Always telling her what she wanted to hear, but in the end it was all lies. And why she was mad at him was because how she'd perceived a moment in time, when he hadn't meant anything about it.

Nova shrugged, "I dont really care right now." She whispered as she snuggled him. "I just want to be with you." She said as she held him and laced her fingers with his.

Ryker frowned, "What do you mean? I cant apologize? I wish you would just tell me what I need to do to fix this because I'm lost right now." He said. "I know I shouldnt have went with that other girl and that was wrong to do to you." He said.

Danny felt a smile tug at his lips, "my little trouble maker." He teased her, before placing a kiss on top of her head. His free hand gently caressing her body any place it touched. He didn't know where all she was hurt, so his touch was light. But he couldn't sleep with out knowing she was safe in his arms. After everything he feared for so long had come true, he was just thankful she wanted to sleep in his arms. And that she didn't hate him.

Jaelynn shook her head, before standing. "No you can't half ass apologize." She told him before he mentioned leaving her for another girl. Shaking her head of course he knew, he couldn't forget so easily. "No you seem to know just why I'm pissed." She told him as she brushed down her night gown. "Leading people on then fucking off with someone else doesn't feel to good, but thank you for making me aware you knew what you were doing." She scoffed, knowing that he did it knowingly. That he'd been pursuing her when someone else came along and he just dropped her.

Nova smiled as she relaxed with him. "I am sorry that you thought I ditched you." She whispered. Nova bit her bottom lip lightly as she felt his fingers moving over her body. "Its gonna suck not being your neighbor anymore though." She said, laughing softly.

Ryker frowned as her, "Look I clearly know that I fucked up. You have to do your part and forgive me. I can only do so much by apologizing. But the way it sounds you dont want to do that. " He said, not raising his voice

Danny smiled softly as she continued to talk, for someone who was ready for bed she sure was wide awake. "It's fine, lets not dwell on it anymore." He knew the reason why she'd missed their date but it still stung, the reasoning behind his thoughts were so far off bases. He didn't want to think about all that anymore, it made him feel guilty. "We'll figure it out," he told her, before pressing a kiss behind her ear. "Not tired?" He asked her, knowing if she didn't sleep he wouldn't either. And as much as he enjoy holding her in his arms there was other things they could be doing.

Jaelynn rolled her eyes before letting out a sigh, "I already told you I didn't see a point in all of this." She gestured between them. "But you feel the need to fix things, I don't." She put it out there knowing it was hateful of her to think that way. But right now her thoughts were so jumbled and jumping around she couldn't seem to handle it, let alone make a decision on what to do. "But." She sighed knowing that she didn't want to send him away with her hurtful words. "I'm willing to at least try." She said.

Nova looked at him, "I am but I keep thinking about random stuff " She said, laughing a little. She looked at him and placed her hand on his side. "Sorry I'm keeping you awake." She said before she tried to get comfortable. She smiled as she felt his arms go around her.

Ryker sighed, "That is all I wanted from you." He said. He watched her, "I should get going. My parents are going to wonder where I am." He said. "I'll talk to you later. Goodnight." He said before he walked away towards his house.

Danny chuckled hearing her words, he shook his head lightly. "I don't mind it at all." He informed her, "though I don't want to fall asleep on you." He teased her, knowing that he was a bit tired. After all he it was well after three in the morning. And he'd spent most of his time drinking and dealing with his sorrow to sleep. Now he felt content and ready for bed. But he knew that he would force himself to stay awake for her. When she cuddled into him he held her to his chest, before placing a soft kiss to her lips. "It's fine baby, just relax." He whispered out, feeling himself already slipping off to sleep.

"Bye." She mumbled as she walked away, before she turned and headed back into her house. She slipped past her parents room silently hoping not to wake them. Once in her room she dropped into bed, sleep soon taking over her body. Her dreams filled with her friends back home. Though it shifted to the boy next door.

Nova kissed him back then fell asleep in his arms. She woke up the next morning, smiling when she felt Danny still holding her. She moved closer to him and kissed along his neck.

Ryker woke up the next morning and stretched. He got up and got dressed. He walked downstairs, smiling when he seen his mom making breakfast. He said down at the counter and texted Jaelynn to tell her goodmorning.
