Amelia watched Scott for a few long moments, surprised with how… Easy it was to relax with him nearby. She was certain that, any other time, she’d be wolfing out the moment the bell rang, the noise irritating and startling her enough that it likely would have happened if Scott wasn’t there, helping her through it. “I… I guess that makes sense,” she murmured quietly, though she felt her panic and concerns ease away when she felt Scott’s hand over hers. Her gaze locked onto his and, for some reason, she knew she could trust him, that she could believe him, that she could rely on him, and some part of her wanted to give into that feeling, to accept it. Still, she swallowed hard and peered around a bit, her gaze going to Harper, hopeful they shared more classes together, but uncertain about their next class.

Her gaze went back to Scott as she listened to his instructions, and she offered a small nod. “I’d appreciate the help,” she murmured quietly, shifting a bit to start packing her things up, not wanting to waste any more time, because she didn’t want to be late to her next class. She knew that when they were late to lessons with their Alpha, they faced awful punishments as a consequence, and she didn’t want to think that it could be possible to face anything similar here, but how was she to know whether such a thing happened here or not? After she finished packing, she shifted to stand up, ready to head to their next class.
Theo had made sure to keep an eye on Harper throughout class, just in case she needed help with anything, wanting to be able to help her in any way that he could, because he was sure all of this was a new experience for her and diving right into it must have been so difficult when she wasn't used to any of it. When he saw how confused she was with the bell, he quickly squeezed her hand, trying to comfort her in any way that he could. "It's alright, it's normal," he promised her quietly, "The bells signal the end of class and the beginning of the next one in a few minutes." He figured she'd need to know because it was only a matter of time before the next one rang and he wanted her to be as prepared as possible. Admittedly, he'd never felt this much concern for any one person before, for anybody at all, but something about Harper made him want to do whatever it took to make things as easy for her as he could.

His eyes watched her as she started to pack up and he offered a smile as he started to pack up as well, not wanting to hold her up and wanting to make sure she managed to get to her next class without a problem. Hearing that her next class was S3 put his heart at ease, because he shared the class with her, which meant he'd get to be around her a little while longer, and he'd get to keep making sure she was okay. "No, we switch classrooms for each class, since many teachers only specialize in certain subjects," he told her, "But lucky us, you and I share the next class together, so at least you'll have somebody to go through it all with." He stood up with his things, peering over at her, enjoying the sight of her, but he cleared his throat to try to focus. "Ready to go, then?"

Scott was getting desperate to know what exactly Amelia had been through, he knew when he was first bitten and transformed into a werewolf, he had been on edge and jumpy but Amelia wasn’t a newly transformed wolf. Her scent told him that she had been a werewolf for some time, longer than him in fact. He wanted to know what she had been put through, either at the hands of her pack or at the hands of her Alpha. And it wasn’t because he was being nosy, it would be a way of protecting not only Amelia but also his pack. He couldn’t just focus all his attention on Amelia and get lost in her, no matter how badly he wanted to give in to that and give himself to her. He was an Alpha and he had a pack that he swore he’d protect with his life, so they were also important to him.

If her Alpha could be a problem for his pack and the people in Beacon Hills, he needed to know about it. Yet he also wouldn’t pressure Amelia into sharing that part of her life with him, especially not on her first day at school. “Of course, what class do you have next?” He asked praying that it was the same as his, because seeing the struggle she had in her first class caused him to worry about her. Worry about the classes they might not share, what if she struggled in those classes too? Who anyone be there to help her? What if she didn’t have anyone and her wolf did come out? He wasn’t sure if he’d be able to fix that, Scott just hoped that if it did happen then Amelia could either get out of the class or stop her panic.
Harper listened to Theo when he mentioned the loud ringing was normal and what it meant for the students, she glanced over to Amelia as she wanted to make sure her sister was managing. She appeared to be doing okay but Harper still felt the urge to check anyway, even if it meant being late to her next class because what human could do worse then their Alpha in punishing them for being late. Harper had to receive his punishment on many occasions, some had been because she had actually been late to his classes and other times it was because she decided to take the punishment in place of the wolf who had been late. Theo’s voice captured her attention once again as she sensed Amelia’s emotions, she could sense her sister was stressed but wasn’t panicked anymore and it seemed someone was keeping her emotions steady. Which gave Harper comfort knowing that Scott seemed to have it under control, she hoped he was able to keep her sister calm for the rest of the day.

“Yeah, I’m ready.” She looked at him before she noticed the students leaving the room, she assumed this is what they had to do as well so Harper turned around and followed the rest of the students back out into the hallway. Yet she had no idea where she was going next, so she waited for Theo to guide her onto their next class. Seeing the number of students now in the hallway, hearing their voices and laugher, smelling their different scents plus what seemed to be gallons of perfume, caused a dull ache to form in Harper’s head. Her Alpha never let her go too far from home, so she never had to deal with her senses being overloaded by innocent people minding their own business. She wasn’t sure how Theo did it, how he survived this on a daily basis.

Amelia shifted a bit under Scott’s attention, unable to help it. She wanted to tell him everything already, but she was afraid of what he would think, how he would react, or that his opinion of her might change. The thought of it made her a bit more anxious, but she tried to force it away, tried to focus on the here and now, because right here and right now, Scott didn’t think poorly of her, and that meant more to her than she really thought it would. Still, she breathed out quietly, trying to stay calm, trying to not think and worry.

When Scott asked about her classes, though, she blinked. “Oh, um…” she murmured, shifting to pull out her schedule before she held it out to him. “It’s on there. It’s either Chemistry or English, I can’t remember.” She made a slight face, because she’d just planned to check it on her way to her next class. She hadn’t paid much attention to her schedule when she first got it, honestly; she’d just wanted to start school and try to be normal for a bit.
Theo watched Harper quietly, focusing on her, wanting to make sure that she knew that she wasn’t alone, but he also wanted to make sure to pay absolute attention to her in case she needed help in any way. He wanted to be able to help her; he wanted to make sure that things got easier for her, because he couldn’t imagine what she was going through right now. He didn’t know her history, but considering how she’d reacted to the bell ringing, a part of him was certain that it couldn’t have been good. And he wanted to show her that she deserved better, because she did. And he wanted to be able to give her that, more than anything.

Hearing her confirm that she was ready, he smiled slightly and nodded. “Let’s get going, then,” he told her as he followed her out of the classroom. He took in their surroundings for a moment once they were out of the classroom, just making sure that nobody bumped into Harper or that nobody caused her any problems, and his gaze went back to her for a few moments. He blinked when he noticed her expression and he frowned with concern. “Are you okay?” he asked quietly, reaching to take her hand before he could stop himself, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze, “What’s wrong?”

Scott never wanted to look away from Amelia, in his head, he knew he shouldn’t be feeling that way when he had only just met her this morning. There was something different about Amelia, and it was drawing him in the more he spent time with her. Scott could already tell that Amelia was an amazing person, but he could feel in his bones there was more to her, that she hadn’t had the best childhood and that there was sadness or fear in her eyes. Scott couldn’t tell which emotion Amelia was trying to hide and bury, but he wanted to find out everything about her, he wanted to know about her life and why she had moved to Beacon Hills without her Alpha. Scott wasn’t going to ask right now, he wasn’t going to pry into her life when they were at school and surrounded by everyone else.

Smiling, he looked over her class schedule and felt relief wash over him when he noticed there were only a few classes that they didn’t share. He couldn’t work out why that made him so happy, maybe it was because he would get to spend more time with her or if it was because he’d be there to make sure nothing and no one bothered her. “It’s Chemistry next and lucky for you, I’m in the same class.” He grinned as he looked at Amelia, handing the schedule back over to her. “I’ll show you the way to class,” He was excited to have her company and having Amelia there was just going to make school better.
Harper felt the squeeze from Theo and it caused her to look at him, “How do you deal with all of this?” She looked at him as she was desperate to know his answer, “All the noise and the scents, how does it not bother you?” She wanted to try and be a normal teenager for once, she wanted to go to a normal high school and have a life away from her Alpha. But if she couldn’t handle the noise of a school and the scents of the students, then why even bother trying to be there. She didn’t want to give up and return to her Alpha, she wasn’t going to let him win that easily. She was determined to stay away from that pack and his abuse, she had spent her entire life so far with him and he had done enough damage.

Harper didn’t realise that she was still holding onto Theo’s hand, the touch was simple and innocent but somehow, it caused Harper’s fear and anxiety to lessen. A calming sensation was slowly washing over every part of her body and mind, Theo wasn’t even doing much but for whatever reason, he was helping her more than he’d ever know. There was only one other person who had this kind of effect on Harper, and that was her sister, Amelia. It wasn’t something that she’d ever complain about, but Harper knew that she should try and not feel attached to anyone in Beacon Hills, in cause her Alpha found them and caused trouble. If she brought her Alpha to Beacon Hills, then she’d need to leave and continue running, she wouldn’t allow her Alpha to hurt anyone in the small town.
