Alice perked up a bit, curious to what exactly this case was. And, if nobody had figured out what was going on, then was it something even hunters hadn't come across yet? Or was there more to it? The thought made her all the more interested in the case, though - the possibility that there could be something more out there than anything they'd already faced meant a new challenge, and, really, Alice couldn't deny that she loved challenges.
"Well, when I first saw this case, there had been a few deaths already," Sam explained to them peering between the trio for a moment, "Suspicious deaths, actually. I remember there'd been a spontaneous combustion, but, you know, no fire around. Somebody froze to death, which is even weirder considering the previous spontaneous combustion and the fact that this happened in the summertime. Somebody died with dirt in their lungs, even though there was no sign of them having been buried - they'd been in their own car when it happened and somebody actually watched that death and tried to intervene, but there was nothing they could do."
For a moment, he shook his head and turned the laptop around so the others could see. "And, this one, somebody drowned in their living room," he told them, "But, there wasn't any water around." He frowned, then. It was weird that all of that had happened, of course, but it was even stranger that the hunters who'd gone to check out the cases hadn't figured out what was going on.
"That doesn't sound extremely abnormal," Alice admitted, shaking her head, "The only weird thing about it is that hunters have already looked into this, but it's still happening even now - especially since you said that at least two of the cases were towards summertime." That had been a few months ago. If these deaths were still going on, why hadn't anybody figured out what had happened? "Maybe we should try calling the hunters we know have looked into the cases, see if they can tell us anything?"
"Yeah, we might as well," Sam said, "Though... I can't really see any of them just giving up on a case, especially one that's still causing problems." Still, he pulled out his phone to start calling the hunters he'd known had gone to check out the cases. Each call ended up at voicemail, though, and he looked to the others, concerned. "Nobody's answering any of the phones."
