Land of The Dead

  • Augustus watched her, his eyes staring over her. He was about to answer no, to her question, as he knew there was blood stored in his home. He froze, as the scent of fresh blood filled the air. He reached out, and caught the drop of blood from her lip on his finger. "ssh, it's okay," he said gently.

He gently moved the finger to his mouth and sucked up the blood. It was splendid, it tasted amazing, like no other blood he'd tasted. A shiver went through his body, and his eyes blinked, changing back to their deep blue. "Wow," he said softly. He looked at her, "can I kiss you?" he asked delicately, "I promise I'm in control," he added.

  • Ada watched him before gasping when he moved so fast he was practically a blur. She froze feeling his finger on her bottom lip. Her eyes were wide out of fear and surprise before just turning to disgust seeing him put his finger in his mouth.

She felt like ice as she couldn't make her body move. "Please don't." She responded barely a whisper coming out as she did so. All the blood seemed to have drained from her face as she watched him. Her whole body had begun to tremble.

  • Augustus stared at her, he felt a tinge of pain, and disappointment as he noticed her disgust. He moved back, "I'm sorry," he said ashamed. He stood up and moved to the door, "I'll see you tomorrow," he said before disappearing outside.

  • Ada sat there refusing to look at him not wanting to see the pain on his face as she did so. She heard his words looking up but he was already out the door. She sighed looking at her hands before just standing up and going to make herself a cup of tea to calm down.

  • Augustus ran from the cottage, annoyed at himself, for breaking composure, and being weak. He should have realized that she would be disgusted by him. He retreated into the forest, and began hunting again.
Despite being aware of the danger of fighting ferals alone, Augustus, knew that as long as he managed to take them on one at a time, he'd survive.

Augustus spent the long night hunting, tearing ferals apart, limb from limb. He was annoyed at this town, for being so disrespectful, and rude to him, when he had only been helpful since returning.

As dawn rose over, Sleepy Hollow, the evidence of Augustus' hunt was piled high, in the town square. A pile of masticated, semi clothed, disfigured, humanoid bodies, lay in pieces, right in front of the church. Pinned to one body was a piece of paper, "10 times more, will make it to town within a week, AR" was written in impeccable calligraphy.

Ada sighed softly looking at her hands not hearing the defeaning tea pot squealing signaling the water was ready. She snapped out of it reaching for the hot pot crying out when she burned her hands. Wincing, she looked at her blistered hands before going to the well and dipping her hands into the much cooler water.

She couldn't believe she'd done that knowing it was hot. The teapot had hit the floor with a loud bang, but she'd get it later. She had a shawl over her shoulders as she cooled down her hands. She stayed outside for most of the day just enjoying the weather.

Heading inside, she let her hair down changing into her night clothes since it was starting to get dark. She sat in the living room and started to carefully bandage her hands, but they were shaking from the pain. Frustrated, she threw down the gauze to the ground.

  • Augustus had retired to the main house, not wanting to disturb Ada when he came in during the early morning. He washed himself down, and cleaned his clothes, of the blood and gore.

Unfortunately it was an unusually sunny day today in the village, which prevented Augustus from leaving the house. He occupied his time, with some further study.

Ada made herself from tea after managing to sloppily bandage her hands up and sipped on it before heading to bed. She woke up in the morning and picked a plain looking dress before sitting down and starting to brush her hair lightly. She eventually tied it into a bun at the top of her head looking at herself in the mirror light freckles scattering the bridge of her nose as well as the tops of her cheeks from the time she spent outside.

She noticed how sunny it was today and decided to go outside. She grabbed one of her hats and tied it around her chin before going outside walking slowly ignoring the looks and stares she received. She heard the whispers but chose to ignore them.

  • Ada's father spotted her walking through town, "Ada, how are you today?" he called as he moved over towards her.

The town was abuzz, with the discovery of the pile of corpses this morning, along with Augustus' chilling note. People seemed worried.

  • (I have an idea!! :D )

Ada was worried since she hadn't seen Agustus that morning. Upon hearing her name, she turned smiling seeing her father. "Papa." She murmured. "I'm okay, how are you?" She questioned looping her arm through his as they walked.

She ignored the looks she was getting from the townsfolk knowing for a fact that they weren't all good looks. She headed into the store with her father speaking to him quietly.

    (What's your idea?)

Ada's father smiled softly, "I'm okay, a little concerned," he said honestly. He moved into the store, and sat her down.

  • (What if the feral vampires have been watching Augustus and Ada and notice he pretty much only likes Ada and decide to kidnap her to get him into their lair alone?)

Ada sat down looking up at him. "Why, papa?" She questioned her brows creasing in concern as she watched him move around the store. She knew the colder months were coming and crossed her arms over her chest rubbing her arms lightly.

  • (Yeah maybe, that's an interesting idea).

Her father looked at her, "The colder weather is rolling in, and it seems more of those things are heading this way," he said lightly.

  • ( :) It's up to you!)

Ada sighed hearing her father and just nodded her head in agreement. "Yes. And Augustus has a thankless task." She murmured with a deep frown. She didn't notice she had said his name aloud. She couldn't help the bad feeling that came with the weather overcast.

  • Her father frowned lightly, "well,it's not our fault he came back, it could have been perfectly fine if he'd have stayed away," he said lightly.

  • "Would've been fine?" Ada's voice rasied as she glared at her father. "Without him, I'd be dead. You know that right?" She asked him looking away frowning again having not realized that she had gotten defensive of Augustus.

  • Her father sighed softly, "The threat might not of come if he wasn't here," he said softly. Although he didn't fully believe it himself. He just hated that Ada was the one that Augustus had wanted, if it had been anyone else things would of been much easier.

"The threat was here months before he came and you know it." Ada replied with another frown keeping herself busy with putting things on shelves behind the counter. "You shouldn't blame him. He saved my life and a lot of the village's." She murmured lifting up her skirts slightly to have an easier time moving things.

  • Her father nodded, "Yeah I suppose," he said softly.

Augustus sighed as he pulled his cloak over himself. It was hard for him, to feel so hated all the time, it was different than the last time he was here

"It's just not fair to him." Ada mumbled with a sigh furrowing her brow again. She sighed and looked at her hands before finishing up making the store look nice. She pushed hair away from her face as she did so. She heard the bell to the shop tinkle and looked up to welcome the guest.
