Ada watched him not understanding why he kept smiling at her as if he had just discovered buried treasure. She nodded before sighing and said, "I mean, I guess that makes sense, but at the same time, I dunno. Shouldn't they just restock all of it from time to time?" She questioned biting down on her lip.

She nodded and said, "The soul matching thing?" She questioned him watching as he moved to go open the box and blinked before murmuring, "I though you meant the first vampire." She replied having not expected he meant him. Of course she knew that the transfer of blood was the way to create a new vampire. It was common knowledge among the older families in the village.

She blinked hearing him say wife and son and furrowed her brow before asking, "You mean when you were human?" She asked him not understanding quite how old he was. She also wanted to ask about why she never seemed to see his family or anyone else but him around town very often. It was very confusing.

Augustus smiled softly at her, "I shouldn't be talking about it, to be honest," he said.

Augustus nodded, "Yeah I have requested more journals, to learn more about how it works," he said. He looked at her, "oh the first vampires according to our history were the spawn or a human and a devil, one nursed on the blood of man, the other raised human, no one's really sure though it happened so long ago" he told her.

He paused seeing her concern, "yes before I was made a vampire, I had a wife and son, my homeland was attacked by demons from the night, they slaughtered indiscriminately," he began. He moved back to the mantle and placed the box, almost like he wanted to protect it from his story. "I left to hold them back, to keep people safe," he said. When I returned home one of them was feeding on my son's body laid out next to my wife," he said finding it hard to talk about. "It turned on me, and attacked me, left me for dead staring at the corpses of my family through a bloody haze."

He looked up at her, "that's when Leonardo Redfang, crouched beside me, and offered me the chance to live to fight the demons that took everything from me."

Ada watched him listening and gave him a nod figuring she wouldn't ask anymore questions.

She nodded before saying, "So, Hell, basically." She teased lightly figuring if she made a joke or tried for humor, it would make her less likely to freak out from the words he was saying. She ran a hand through her hair gently and bit down on her lip.

She listened to his story frowning gently before sighing and saying, "That's terrible, but I hope you can understand, that my empathy is running thin simply from seeing the people in this village being terrorized. I'm sorry about your family, but knowing that other family's are going through the same thing leads me to believe that nothing has changed since how long you've been alive." She murmured softly. She was biting down so hard on her lip, that she felt her tooth snap the soft part of her skin and winced tasting the metallic blood.

She frowned feeling it well up before dripping onto her chin. She looked around for a hankerchief not wanting to be a mess.

Augustus chuckled lightly, "Yeah I guess we're from hell," he admitted. He saw her frown, "I used to live elsewhere, and I'm sorry that families are going through the same thing still, but that's why I offered to help, none of the attacks were done by a Redfang," he told her.

As the blood trickled onto her chin, it caught his eye. He was expecting it to trigger a hunger response, given his weakened state, he was intrigued to feel yet another arousal response upon seeing it. The tint in his eyes dulled drastically, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a cloth for her.

Ada nodded, "I think we all are." She replied and listened to his words and gave a nod knowing he hadn't always been a Redfang. She sighed and replied, "Just don't expect me to be very empathetic." She told him. "I don't have it in me anymore." She admitted looking out the window.

She felt him looking at her and was surprised to see the red in his eyes go away and took the cloth wiping it away and blotting at the blood. She looked up and hesitated before saying, "Your eyes were red earlier...now, they have just a small tint of it left." She finished and set the cloth in her lap waiting for the her lip to finish bleeding.

Augustus nodded hearing her, "I understand that, hopefully the village will become a safe place, and you'll get that back," he mused.

He looked at her confused when she spoke, he paused, "are you certain?" he asked her excited. He moved over towards the chair again. He hoped she hadn't been imagining things.

Ada shook her head and murmured, "I don't really remember the more safe times. It started when I was just a little girl." She admitted to him.

She watched his face contort with confusion before replying, "Yes. It scared me when I came in here. Now they are almost back to how they were yesterday. Why?" She asked him not understanding the significance behind this. She watched him move closer to the chair and forced herself not to move backwards, knowing she had to dela with this. She had to do this for a year.

Augustus nodded, "it was lovely, we used to live together in solidarity, the humans allowing the vampires to feed on them as they needed to, the vampires providing the villages with game and protection from outsiders," he said softly. He smiled remembering it, "I just want some of that back," he said.

He looked at her, and mumbled to himself, "it can't be." He paused for a moment, "bare with me for a second," he said to her. He thought for a moment, "From my research it seemed that given the right stimuli, a vampire's violent urges can be suppressed, not in the way we do it, by struggling and sheer will power, but actually by actually removing the urges for a period," he began.

He looked at her, "one of those urges as you would be aware is to feed, and a fully developed vampire can in one feeding drain a human completely of blood, but I never do that, as a result after feeding on a little blood, like last night, my urge to continue feeding is elevated, and my eyes become more focused and attuned to the color red,".
He sat back, "it appears the sight of you blood doesn't set of my urge to feed, like it should, it suppresses it," he told her. He very much wanted to do more research.

Ada shook her head before saying, "I've read a lot of journals from my ancestors back in those days and they say a lot of the people that were feeders, didn't do it because they wanted to. It was blackmail." She murmured watching him.

She watched him confused and blinked before she watched him think replying, "Okay.." She waited until she listened to him speak. She was confused before murmuring, "What are you talking about?" She asked him, running a hand through her hair gently before pushing it away from her face.

She frowned listening to his words and asked, "Wouldn't the feeling to 'feed' elevate from just seeing blood?" She questioned furrowing her brows before listening to his words. She stood up nearly knocking the chair over. "Why? i didn't do anything." She told him feeling scared that she might be involved with something to do with the vampire world.

Augustus looked at her, 'I didn't know that, I'm sure the intention wasn't to make the humans feel forced to do it, even if that was the effect," he said lightly. He was willing to agree to disagree on the nature of the feeding in the past.

He stopped noticing her apprehension, "I don't know, I want to find out more," he explained. He remained in his seat, "I hope that despite all this you are still willing to move in," he said softly. He looked up at her, "what I know it means at the moment, is that seeing your blood won't cause me to attack you, any attack on you by me it appears would have to be a conscious decision to attack," he stated.

He was hoping to calm her down, and relax her.

Ada shook her head before murmuring, "From the journal's I read, the people were blackmailed into becoming feeders to keep their families safe." She told him looking up and watching him.

She stepped back watching him, having not meant to cause the chair to nearly knock over. She was glad when he remained in his seat. She then murmured, "I don't like it." She admitted to him wrapping her arms around herself watching him with a careful eye. She sighed hearing his words. She watched him before questioning, "How do I know you won't attack me consciously?" She sat down again, but made sure she sat on the edge of her seat.

Augustus looked at her and frowned, "I'm sorry that all this is happening, I wish I knew more about it," he stated. He sat back, almost hurt by her question, he looked at her, "If I wanted to hurt you, I could of done it last night and blamed the bloodlust, but I didn't I forced myself to leave and get back here," he explained. He stood up slowly walking towards one of the doors, "would you please follow me," he asked softly.

Ada watched him and sighed before murmuring, "Why would knowing make it any better?" She asked curiously. She then sighed seeing the hurt look on his face and didn't know what she felt. She wanted to bite her lip again as she felt her nervousness increase, but made herself stop befor esighing and said, "I suppose so." She watched him stand up before figuring if she died, her father would raise hell. She stood up and started to follow him. She continued and bit the inside of her cheek this time before asking, "Where are we going?"

Augustus turned back to her, "because I'd be able explain why it's happening, and why you," he told her. He headed through the door leading to his training room. On one of the stands was his holster, with his various weapons slotted into their spots. "This is where I practice, and train," he told her calmly. He walked beside the stand, "even if I didn't wait to attack you the other night, when we spoke in the garden, and the other day after that, I had all of these on me," he told her. He wasn't trying to scare her, just prove that if he did consciously want to kill her, he would of done it already.

Ada wrapped her arms around herself, keeping her self stationed in the same position. She nodded and said, "Oh, well, I guess I would liketo know why me." She murmured softly before watching. She looked around seeing the weapons her eyes widening as she did so. She was stunned to see all of the weapons. She backed up and whispered, "Why do you carry all of these? That's terrible!" She exclaimed turning her back on it, feeling her breathing increasing as her panic started to arise. She gasped grasping at her chest looking around and shook her head remembering the day in the forest and felt like she couldn't breathe at the moment.

Augustus noticed her discomfort, he stepped towards her, and placed his arm over her shoulder, "relax, come on let's get out of here," he whispered seductively in her ear. He was hoping to take her mind off whatever was stressing her. He slowly walked her out of the room.

He held her close, feeling the touch of her skin against his, it gave off the slightest tingle.

Ada shook her head feeling his arm go around her shoulders. She was trying to calm herself down, but the images began to flood her mind. She felt him lead her out of the room and was trying to ignore the fact of the weapons all over the room.

Once she was out of the room, she gasped out a breath, her breathing hitched from fear and anxiety. She felt him holding her and shook her head once more wanting to leave at the moment. She felt the tingle and suddenly collapsed to her knees, the flashbacks to the day getting stronger. She remembered seeing her blood on her hands. She felt tears beginning to fall seeing all the blood from the vampire being beheaded.

Augustus held her, crouching to the floor with her. He continued to whisper seductive tones in her ear, "stay with me, everything's okay," he cooed. He pulled her close, struggling with her overwhelming scent, and the tingling touching her skin was causing. He looked her in the face, "calm down, you're safe here," he promised.

Ada shook her head listening to his voice and felt her breathing slowly beginning to slow and closed her eyes holding a hand over her face. "There was so much blood." She whispered before she just sagged against his body needing to just feel the warmth of another body, except his body was just cold. She heard his words and whispered, "But you're the one that caused all the blood." She shook her head. Before long, she had gotten her breath back and sat back up her hand running over her face her hands trembling. "I'm sorry." She told him, moving her body away from him and just breathing. "It all just came back at once." She explained before trying to give him a weak smile.

Augustus nodded softly, "I know I'm sorry," he said lightly. He sat back, "don't try to stand just yet okay," he said lightly. He sat down on the floor with her, "Do you want me to answer your earlier question? or is that too much?" he asked her quietly.

In his rush to come to her aid, his shirt had opened slightly showing his muscled form.
