All I Need Is Time. [closed]

Caroline was rushing to get to the restaurant on time, having been held up at work over an incident in the break room. She hurried in the door of the restaurant and gave a look around. It took her a moment to spot moment, he looked different out of a prison jumpsuit, even more handsome than she remembered, and even larger compared to normal everyday people. The blonde waved in his direction and made her way over to the table, taking a seat across from him. "Hey, it was okay, really busy! how was yours? how is the outside world treating you?" she asked, smiling happily across the table at him. Seeing him outside the prison felt so strange, the feeling between them felt much more normal, friendly even.

She picked up the menu and began flicking through it "So what's good here?" she asked him, taking off her jacket and hanging it on the back of her chair. She wore a bardot style cocktail dress, she was planning on meeting up with some friends after meeting Danny and had gotten changed at work.

Danny smiled as she sat down, "Better than it did last time." He joked. He watched as she pulled her jacket off. Even outside of jail he felt like they were two people that should never be together. He smirked when she asked what was good, "The burgers were awesome, but I hear that everything they have is pretty good. I think that last time i came here my friend got some of their seafood and said it was good." He said. He couldn't help but want to watch her. She was really gorgeous, "I'm assuming you didn't go to work like that?" he teased her, "I doubt that would go over well." He said. he knew how creepy those guys were. Hell some of the guy in the restuarant looked at her like she was part of the menu too and it pissed him off.

Caroline laughed gently, and placed her menu down on the table, deciding she would just order whatever Danny was having. she leaned foward slightly resting her head in her hands looking over at Danny. "No no, the Warden would probably have me thrown in the SHU if I showed up like this, I'm meeting some friends later on so I changed before leaving work" she explained, and began to play with the bracelet on her wrist, and remembered the comment he had passed the first time they met, and how he kept trying to avoid answering questions by complimenting her. A smirk spread across her lips as she thought about it, giggling slightly.

"So, have you been in touch with any of your crew?" she asked softly, slightly afraid of what his answer might be... before he could get a chance to reply, the waiter approached them to take their order. He was an older gentleman, who seemed very happy to be serving them. "What a sweet couple, date night?" he asked them, throwing a wink in Danny's direction.

Danny laughed a little at her talking about the SHU, "No offense but you wouldn't make it 4 hours in the SHU." He told her. "Not someone like you." He said. He watched as she giggled, "What?" He asked her. When she asked about his crew he shook his head, "No, I mean I talked to one of my friends a few days ago, but nothing serious." He said, shrugging. Right now he just needed to focus on not going back to jail. He looked at the waiter, "Far from it." He replied. Caroline would never go on a date with him. she knew too much about him. He let he order then ordered his food. "So you miss me at work yet?" He teased her. He knew he missed talking to her every day.

Cali pouted at him, only able to keep the cross look on her face for a small number of seconds before her smile returned "Hey, I bet I wouldn't do so bad" she argued, even though she knew he was probably right. shaking her head she looked up at him as she chuckled "I was thinking about the first meeting I ever had with you, you acted like you had me all figured out... and then tossed a desk at me" she said softly looking down at the table, biting on to her bottom lip. She had kinda forgot the last part.

She ordered the same as Danny from the waiter along with a diet coke, ignoring his couple comment- she didn't even want to go there. She was really pleased to hear he hadn't gone back to his gang immediately, hopefully with the right advice she might talk him around to never going back.

"Yeah it's kind of weird not having to meet with you twice a day, it was such a routine. We just got a new group in, bunch of young guys moving up from juvi" she told him, not knowing if she was actually supposed to tell him information like that, but she couldn't see why not. There was a large part of her still wished he was there. The new guys liked to get rowdy and talk back to her, and she knew Danny would've put an end to it quickly if he still there. "I'm sure you don't miss staring across a desk at my face everyday" she teased him, crossing her leg under the table accidentally kicking in to his gently. "Oh sorry my mistake"

Danny smiled, "I mean I still have you figured out." He said. He didn't like to think about when he had hurt her. He nodded when she mentioned the new guys, "They will calm down as they stay there longer. usually the older guys put them in their place." He said, before taking a sip of his water. He smirked when she mentioned him not missing her. "I miss you every day Caroline." He replied. He missed his little ray of sunshine. When she kicked him he shook his head, "It's fine." He said.

Cali's cheeks flushed red as he told her he missed her. She glanced down in to her lap, avoiding his gaze until she felt her cheeks cool again. "You know, you can call me Cali if you like, I don't have to follow all the same rules as in the prison" she told him gently. She obviously still had her own ethical rules, but he wasn't a prisoner in the system as such anymore.

"Are you still taking your meds?" she asked softly, taking a sip of her soda. She hoped he was, but she knew he didn't really like discussing it, as he never wanted to take them in the first place. Caroline could never quite understand why she had such a soft spot for Danny, no matter what he did, she always found a way to forgive him for it. Maybe it was because he looked and acted so normal compared to the other inmates she had experienced, but she found it hard to imagine him actually killing somebody, although she tried not to think about it at all.

Danny looked at her, "I like caroline, but if you want me to call you Cali I will." He said, smiling. He would do whatever she wanted him to do. He nodded when she mentioned the meds, "Yes I am." He said. He didn't enjoy it, but he had to. "Honestly, I don't notice a difference except for not thinking in a constant loop." He said, shaking his head.

When their food came out he put some ketchup and mustard on his burger, before putting the bun on.

Cali nodded "Caroline is fine, if that's what you prefer" she told him. "Maybe you don't notice Danny, but I certainly do. You don't get as angry, your temper is less sporadic" she explained softly, going quiet as she noticed he looked unhappy to be discussing it.

Cali delicately picked the burger up, beginning to eat.To give Danny credit, it was definitely one of the tastiest burgers she had ever had. "This is really good" she thrilled, not realising she had managed to get burger sauce on her nose. "So what's your plan? Get a job? get a girl?" she asked asked happily, popping a fry in her mouth, watching him closely. He was handsome, she knew if he could keep his background hidden for a while he would probably land a lady easily, but she feared that it may be the wrong type. Oftenshe saw lunatics of women, purposefully seek out murderous for some deranged sex fantasy.

Danny smilef, "Good enough to wear." He teased her as he reached out and used a napkin to get the food off her nose. He watched as she blush, feeling his stomach get that weird feeling it got when she was around. Feelings? Maybe. He shrugged, "I paln to get a job. As for a girl...I don't think many women want an ex con." He said, before eating another fry. He popped the plastic top off the secret recipe dip he order. He slid it to her, "Dip your fries in that." He told her. "It makes them taste way better." He said.

Cali giggled as he teased her, her face going as red as the ketchup he had just wiped off her nose. She couldn't understand why she was so giddy, it wasn't like she had been drinking or anything, maybe it was just the excitement of getting to see her friends later on.

"I think you could get a girl, I mean, you're really kind when you want to be, and you're handsome... I'm sure there are people who can overlook your past" she told him kindly, dipping a fry in the sauce he had given her. Her eyes closed as she savoured the delicious taste of the sauce "What is that? It is like magic in my mouth" she said happily, dipping another fry in. "What time do you have to be back at the house?"

Danny shrugged, "I think putting a girl through this is a lot." He told her. He smiled at her reaction to the sauce, "Honestly, I don't know
its just their special sauce. It's good." He said. He went back to eating, then set his burger down when she asked what time he had to be back at the house, "I have to be back before 11." He told her. It sucked having a curfew. He hadn't even had that as a teenager. "Apparently law enforcement thinks crime only happens at night." He said, laughing.

Caroline felt sad that Danny was just going to remain alone, but strangely also felt relieved that he wasn't seeing other girls. She didn't even know why she would care, it's not like she would ever end up with him. she pouted slightly that he had a curfew, but of course it was to be expected "I was going to offer to buy you a celebratory drink for getting you out, but I guess it will just have to wait 4 months" she said with a small laugh, placing her hands on the table. She was only half way through her burger and already beginning to feel full. It was so tasty she wanted to keep eating though.

"Where are you thinking of applying for jobs?"

Danny laughed, "Yea we will wait. Im pretty sure showing up drunk at the house is not a good thing." He said, smiling. He watched her, "Honestly, I don't know. They have a list at the house and I may look at that. I don't know what I am even good at." He said. He finished his food, "You should take that home. Trust me it taste just as good reheated." He said as he pulled out his wallet to pay fir their meal. He still had good money in his bank because he didn't spend it.

"Well you have my number if you need help preparing or anything, I'm more than happy to help" she told him kindly and nodded as he suggested to take it home. When the waiter dropped down the bill she asked him to box it up, glancing up to see Danny pulling out his wallet. "No way, I've got this" she staed, placing her hand on dannys wallet and pushing it back down towards his pocket. She couldn't let him pay, he was just out of prison and didn't even have a job.

Danny laughed, "I invited you though." He said. Danny put his wallet in his pocket, "I will let you have this one, but i am doing the next one." He said. Danny watched as she paid then got up and walked out with her. "I hope you enjoyed yourself." He told her once they were outside.

Caroline chuckled, shaking her head at him. She dropped two 50's on to the tray, figuring that would pay for the two meals and tip before picking up her jacket and walking out with Danny. "I had a lovely time Danny, I just hope you won't mind doing it with me three times a week for the next 2 years" she teased and pulled her jacket around her shoulders. as she was doing so, the waiter from before stepped outside the restaurant door to them "Sorry Miss, you forgot your leftovers" he said, holding the bag out to her. she took it gratefully and placed it in to her handbag, turning her back to the two men.

"Are you two seriously not a couple? I was watching you in there... Hop on that man, or someone else will" he said directly to Danny, lowering his voice so Cali wouldn't hear as she rooted in her handbag

Danny frowned at the guys response, "Thanks for bringing her leftovers out." He said. He walked over to Caroline and stood beside of her, "So where are you headed to next?" He asked, putting his hand on the small over her back and moving her out of the way of a few people walking by. A few of the women checked him out as they passed him.

Caroline felt a shiver run up her spine as he placed his hand on her lower back and moved her aside, she wrote it off on it just being the touch giving her a slight fright. she giggled slightly as a group of women walked past looking Danny up and down. She poked his side playfully, her face smiling brightly "See, I told you women would pay attention" she teased, although some little part of her felt a need to inform them to stay away... she was hardly jealous was she? "I'm meeting some friends over in Kristal, are you heading back to the house?"

Danny smiled, "Yea they like the outside but they can't handle my insides." He teased her. He nodded, "Yea i am going to head back now." He said. Danny pulled his hand away slowly, "I guess i will talk to you later." He said.
