Aria stood against the wall, using the break to check her bag for an extra pencil for the exam she had in her class in the next hour. She stood off to the side to not block anyone, not knowing how long she might end up looking. Finally finding it, she put it where she would easily find it again and turned to the campus coffee shop where she could study for just a little longer before she had to go.

Looking up as a group of boys came in, she went back to her work until it was clear they were going to be loud no matter what anyone else in the place might have been doing. She glared at them but didn’t say anything otherwise, they were annoying but she didn’t want to get i volved especially not with them.

Jace was used to the attention he got, it sort of came with the territory of the school. He didn’t mind it in the slightest, in fact he liked the fact that girls liked him and it made other guys feel threatened. He walked down the pathway to the courtyard, reading some of the messages in his phone and deleting the ones he no longer cared about. He suddenly felt himself collide with someone walking the opposite direction and his phone flew out of his hand as well as the persons things.

“Oh hey, sorry about that. Must not have been looking where I was going,” He grinned crookedly, smiling st the girl who he recognized from a few of his classes. “Aren’t you in my English class?” He asked her, never having spoken to her before now.

Grayson walked inside with a couple of his buddies laughing and carrying on. He went to a table after getting a coffee and chuckled as they continued on. He glanced over feeling eyes on him and saw a beautiful girl. He raised an eyebrow as she glared at him and said, "Don't shoot." He laughed with his friends not understanding why she was looking like she wanted to hurt him. He had never met the girl before.

He spoke with his friends shaking his head as they started to do some dumb things. He laughed with them and let his head tilt back as he laughed needing more air. he didn't think they had ever had this much fun, granted, a few of them were high and the others were just drunk. He needed the coffee from being a little drunk.

Zoe hummed softly to herself as she walked down the hallway. She had a backpack on with her things in it. She was heading towards her other class at the moment. She hadn't been paying too much attention and ended up colliding with another person. She winced as her books went flying out of her hands. She sighed and bent down to pick up her books. She glanced up at him and it took her a second to recognize him. She shrugged and said, "I suppose so." She grabbed her stuff again.

She then started to walk again paying him no special attention. She flipped her beautiful mousy brown hair away from her citrine colored eyes. She needed to get the rest of her books and head to her class. She only had so much time in the hallways. She ran a hand through her hair thinking to herself for a moment.

Aria noticed when he looked at her, focusing on her paper until he looked back at her. She couldn’t help being annoyed with them, she only had an hour left before her test and they were easily the loudest people in the room. She glared st him again and put her finger to her lips, speaking to him directly. “Then hush,” She snapped, putting her headphones back into her ears in hopes to drown out the sound.

She recognized a few of them from her classes but didn’t speak to them, they were easily the type of people that skated along and she was the complete opposite so she steered clear of them for the most part.

Jace walked back up behind her, raising an eyebrow. “Well wait, what’s your name?” He asked her, easily matching her pace and walking in the direction she had been. “I’m Jace, I don’t think we’ve ever gotten a chance to talk before.” He was curious he had never outwardly been ignored but he didn’t pay too much attention.

“Are you going to the party tonight? It’s on the beach, there’ll be food and I’ll be there,” He smirked, waiting for her reaction and wondering if he’d be able to get her to go with him. “It’ll be fun, promise.”

Grayson didn't appreciate serious people. People needed to laugh and find humor in things instead of being stressed all the time. He glanced over seeing her glaring and didn't really like it much. He was surprised to hear her say to him then hush. He blinked before laughing unable to help himself and winked at her before going bcak to his friends. He didn't have the best grades, but he never really tried and he didn't understand a lot of the material in class. He hadn't met her before, but he was sure he had seen her face around.

He ran a hand through his hair again drinking his coffee before getting a water. He hummed to himself checking his phone to delete some messages from girls he had slept with that wanted to talk to him. He wasn't interested. He was interested in the girl beside him. Though, he was sure it was just to irritate her.

Zoe heard someone speaking and turned to see him and raised an eyebrow at his question before saying, "Zoe." She turned her head back and continued to walk figuring he would just leave her alone. She was used to getting hit on, but her grades came first. She didn't need distractions. She played soccer as well and those two things took up a lot of her time. She glanced back seeing him still there. She looked at him a little exasperated as he continued to speak to her. She frowned hearing his words and seeing him smirk. "Not interested." She replied.

She continued to walk speeding up as she went to her locker and grabbed her books. She then headed to her class ignoring Jace completely. She wasn't interested and she meant it. She didn't really want to get to know him. She dind't even really know him. She had heard about a guy named Jace in the school and knew his reputatino. That was enough for her.

Jace stopped in his tracks, surprised by her reaction. That was not the reaction he was used to getting, but he wasn't about to let it deter him. "Okay, Zoe," He said, catching back up to her and walking over to match her pace once again. "If you're not interested in parties, what are you interested in?" He asked, eyeing her books to try to get a feel for her major. "What are you studying?" He asked curiously.

He had seen her around but it never occured to him to talk to her before now. Why of course, he was busy dealing with other girls who he'd dated and subsequently left, but he wanted something new, a challenge even, and this girl who would barely look at him gave him something to work for. "Are you busy later, is that why you can't go?" He asked curiously, trying to understand. "How about later this week, when you have time we go out for dinner? My treat, of course." He offered to her, wondering if she would be interested.

Aria shook her head and continued studying, reviewing her notes and rewriting the problems she wasn't too sure on. She was confident but tests still made her nervous sometimes. Plus she had just started a job so she wanted to do well now because if she did she would be able to focus on her job and not worry about her grade. She was really excised to start the job, she needed some extra money and this would be a great way to start saving.

\She put her music up, hoping it drowned the sound of the guys next to her out when she noticed she had only about 20 minutes to her class. Packing up her things she kept her headphones in and walked past the guys, out of the campus coffee shop and into the hallway. She was annoyed by the guys as were several of the other people in the shop, but people were always like this and there wouldn't be anything to do about it.

Zoe heard him stop and thought that that would be the end of it and turned her eyes forward as she continued. She sighed as he caught back up with her and turned to watch him and then raised an eyebrow as he looked at her books and said, "Veternarian." She then turned back forward, pushing her brown hair away from her face checking ehr phone and knowing she only had a few minutes left to get to class, then it was off to soccer. She was excited about soccer and just wanted to get to it. She ran a hand over her face gently.

She glanced back hearing his words before saying, "I just have no interest in parties." She heard his next sentence and turned to face him and said, "I have no interest in you either." She then turned back around her sapphire eyes blazing as she continued towrads her class. She made it to her biology 2 class having skipped the first one and sat down getting her notes out. She had to study a few things before her test. She bit her lip as she did so.

Grayson watched the girl from the corner of his eye wondering what he found so interesting about her. He smirked to himself running a hand over his face. He watched her leave and chuckled before looking at the time and sighing as he got a cigarette out walking out of the door. He lit it up breathing in before blowing the smoke out and walking towards his own class. HE was surprised to see the girl from before in his class and then stomped out the cigarette before heading inside.

Once there, he sat back leaning back in his chair and just waiting for the test. He figured it wasn't ging to be that hard. He yawned for a moment before getting the test and started on it. He ran a hand through his hair pushing it back as he finished it up. He turned it in before walking out of the classrooom. He headed towards the football fields figuring he might as well see what his buddies were up to.

Aria was proud of how she did on the test but when her grade came back she would be able to see how well she had actually done. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail and headed out to the fields, wanting to know if she had to be at practice later that week, she did field hockey when it was in season, but did dance year long as her own form of exercise.

She passed by the guy from before, seeing him out of the corner of her eu but paying him no mind. As far as she was concerned people like that weren’t focused and wouldn’t get very far nd it wasn’t her problem. She went to drop her stuff off into the Locker room and get the practice schedule so she would be ready next practice.

Jace raised his eyebrows. It was the first time he had ever been so blatantly turned down and he was confused by it. He wracked his brain. Had he dated her in the past? Hurt someone she might have known? “Wait, have we met before?” He asked curiously, wondering what it could have been.

“Oh do you have a boyfriend? That it? Could have just said so,” He added, still matching her pace until she walked straight into class. He didn’t have this class but he was confused, he wanted to know why she turned him down since it was something he wasn’t used to in the slightest. He went out to the courtyard with his friends, wondering about her and wondering when he might see her again to learn more about her.

Grayson yawned as he walked before passing that girl he had seen previously. He wondered who she was. He hummed for a moment before deciding he would see her later. He laughed as he tossed the football with his friends and figured he would join the hockey team again just for shits and giggles. He sighed knowing it meant he would have to keep his grades up, which meant he would have to get a tutor or something to help him.

He headed down to the hockey team's coach's office. He found the coach and asked him if he could be on the team again. He told him plan and was glad when the coach said if he got his grades up, he'd love for him to be on hi steam. He needed at least C's to be able to be on the team. He sighed knowing he'd have to find a damn good tutor.

Zoe kept walking before sighing hearing him again and turned to look at him, knowing he was attractive, but she just didn't have time for it. "No, I don't think i've ever met you. And no, I don't know who you are." She replied softly as she pushed hair back from her face turning her sapphire eyes forwards once more. She hummed to herself a little wondering what she was going to do after soccer.

Hearing his questioned, she raised an eyebrow and said, "No, I don't have a boyfriend." She disappeared inside and finished up her test afterwards. She sighed softly and came out of the classroom and started to walk towards her dorm room to change before she went to soccer practice. She noticed the guy from before but tried to keep walking hoping he hadn't seen her. She didn't want to be seen. She didn't want him to talk to her again, but it seemed like he just wanted to and it wasn't like he was harrassing her.

Aria walked out of the locker room having set her things up in her locker for the season and headed out to the front of the campus. She pulled her keys out of her bag, happy to be leaving campus officially for the day. Though she lived in the campus apartments she was happy for the chance to leave and go off campus to her room for a bit before she had to figure out dinner.

She climbed into her car and drove to the buildings, heading to her room and dropping her things. She knew she would need to go grocery shopping soon, and she would do it after she checked in st the library to see if the book she needed was finally available.

Jace hung out with his friends, smoking in the courtyard while they waited for one of their other friends to come out. They were all going to the party and he was hoping he would be able to find a way to get her to come as well. He was interested in her, and of course he wanted t know why she was like that to him.

He saw her walking past and smiled. “Hey Zoe, I had a question. So do you not like parties? Or dinner?” He teased gently, gauging her reaction. “Whatever you want to do is on me. Lunch, brunch, whatever, you can decide what we do.”

Grayson walked out of the coach's office his hands behind his head as he let out a large sigh wondering what he was going to do. He frowned running a frustrated hand throughout his hair. He shook his head and said, "To hell with this!" He took out a cigarette annoyed and lit it up. He figured the closest place to find a tutor would be the library.

He walked there and looked around until he saw the girl from earlier and noticed she had been trying to study while he was there. He went forwards and said, "Hey, I'm Grayson. Can I ask you a question?" He asked knowing he was never this polite, but he really needed something and really needed her to say yes so he could join the team in time for matches.

Zoe glanced at her phone stopping to answer a text message from her brother before glancing up hearing someone speaking to her. She was exasperated at the fact that he was still here. "I don't mind either, I just don't want to go to either with you." She replied watching him for a moment and pushed past. "Excuse me, I have to get to soccer practice." She headed towards her room. She opened the door and changed into a tank top and her nike shorts as well as her cleats.

She walked out closing the door, her water in her bag as she started to head towards the practice field. She stretched her back and neck on the way there knowing if she was stiff bad things would happen. She yawned a little knowing she had been up late last night finishing up a paper. She hoped she had made a good grade on it.

Aria sat in the library studying for an upcoming sssignkent and researching music for a new performance. She was excited for the season now that she had the green light to compete. She couldn’t wait until later on when she findslly got a routine she would e able to use.

She looked up as the guy from earlier walked up to her and at first she couldn’t hear because her headphones were in her ears. Pulling them out she looked at him in confusion. “Okay...” she said, unsure if why he was suddenly talking to her. She held nothing against him or his friends, she didn’t expect much from those kinds of people so she wasn’t sure why he’d be trying to speak to her.

Jace was at a loss for words. He wasn’t trying to be rude but he was genuinely confused. If he hadn’t hurt her in the past why was she so against him. He never got turned down, in fact it might have been the first time. He watched as she went, confused and wanting to prove that she was wrong about him, whatever she thought.

He turned away and headed out towards the fields with his friends, wanting to be with them but also because a few of his friends liked watching the athletes practice. He sat on the bleachers, complaining about Zoe to his friend and wondering why she was so intent on telling him no.

Grayson was a little confused on the girl's attitude towards him. He didn't exactly understand why she was so...uncharmed to say the least. He bit down on his lip a little before seeing her look at him in confusion and sighed sitting down. "What's your name? And will you help me with my classes?" He asked her wondering what she wouuld say. He wasn't joking nor was he trying to prank her. If he was honest he didn't really care for her attitude that much, but he had to be nice since he was asking for something.

He knew it was a lot to ask since he didn't even know her schedule, but she seemed like the only one that was nice enough to even try and help him. He wondered if she wanted something in return. He did have a job. "What if I pay you?" He asked knowing he sounded desperate, but he really was desperate.

Zoe watched him seeing him dumbfounded which brought a little smile to her face. It was the first time she had smiled since meeting him. It lit up her face. She just chuckled before heading to the field. She got there and started to stretch before doing two laps around the field knowing it would get her motivated even though she was exhausted. She glanced at her friend and smiled and waved at him. He was in the bleacher but she noticed Jace there and looked up hearing the coach.

She heard that she was the goalie for today since their usual was sick. She wrinkled her nose knowing she wasn't that great at being goalie. She was more adept at using her feet than her hands, though she would try her best. She ended up being moved to a starting position. She just gave a laugh brushing it off and looked up before sprinting towards another player, she dodged swiftly moving the ball from the back of her foot to the front with ease. She ended scoring and sighed and laughed at her friends' faces.

Aria raised an eyebrow and laughed in slight disbelief. She tutored occasionally but she was surprised he asked her and so directly at that. But it was such a forward request she couldn’t help but be confused. “My name is Aria and you can go sign up for tutoring,” She said matter of factly. “How do you know I’m even good at any of the subjects you need?” She laughed at the situation.

“I mean if you want to pay me fine but I feel it’s a little strange to ask a stranger their name and then to help you without actually talking to them first,” She said, setting her headphones onto the table. “Why do you need help? Where’s the fire?”

Jace noticed the soccer team come out and a few of his friends whistled, as they normally did. The female soccer team was actually pretty good at the school, and he noticed the girl from before. She was really good, and looking st her olay he was even more interested in getting her to come out.

He watched them until they took a break and he noticed her come over by the part of the bleachers. “So you play soccer, huh? You’re pretty good, Monroe,” He grinned, gesturing to her Jersey. “Have you been playing long?”

Grayson watched her, ignoring his inner demon telling him to just walk away and that she was just a bitch. He calmed it by watching her. He listened to her name and ndded and sighed hearing her words and frowned and replied, "Because you're the one that has top grades in every class." He responded matter of factly. He didn't know her name, but he knew that at the very least she could help him. "I don't need an A I just need at least a C maybe a B." He replied.

He watched her and sighed hearing her words and watched her before saying, "I want to get back into Hockey. I need certain grades to be eligible for the team and I want to play their first game." He said, deciding to sit down, crossing his arms loosely across his chest. He ran a hand through his shaggy hair keeping his pretty dark blue eyes trained on her.

Zoe ignored the whistling knowing she was getting fairly annoyed by all of them, but figured if it was really a bad thing, the coach would have told them to leave by now. She took all of her hair wrapping it around into a messy bun at the top of her head ignoring the cat calls she got. Deciding she needed water, Zoe headed for the water canteen and took a few sips sitting down a little and resting her burning legs.

Hearing her last name, Zoe looked up seeing Jace and raised an eyebrow at his words before sighing and said, "Since 1st grade." She watched him before seeing her friend come over. Her face lit up and she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him before moving back and chatting excitedly with him. He mentioned something about the party later that night and she gave him a look before groaning as he convinced her to go with him since he needed a wing woman. She laughed at his words and told him, "Fine. But you better come to my games all season." He just grinned and nodded. She waved to him before heading back to the field hearing coach whistle.

She listened to him talk, not believing it. It was a strange situation, one that she honestly never expected to be in. “No. I won’t help you,” She told him with a small smile, leaning forward onto the table. “And I’ll tell you why.” She said simply, crossing her arms and training her eyes onto his.

“I don’t know you or what you know about me, but I’m not here for whatever reason you have to clearly dislike me without having said a word to me before you suddenly need a favor.” She said, raising an eyebrow. “You might think you’re hiding it well. You’re not.” She said, standing up and beginning to pack her things. “You must be used to getting what you want. Let me change that. No I won’t help you. You want to be on the Hockey team? Ask someone else or get there yourself. I’m not just some hired tutor to help you get what you want.” She said, shrugging and putting her bag onto her shoulder. She turned to walk out of the library before turning and walking back to the table. “Oh and next time you want a favor? Try being nicer.” She said, walking out of the library and exhaling. It felt good especially since it was clear he didn’t like her.

Jace smiled widely, she was talking to him and that in itself was a good thing. He didn’t like having a bad reputation unless he had done something to earn it. And if he hadn’t he wanted to make sure people knew him for reasons he made sure of. “Ev...” He said, but noticed her friend had joined her on the field so he waited to finish his sentence.

He heard she was planning to go to the party and he was happy, even though she said she wouldn’t go with him, she’d be there and so would he. He’d try again then, to see what he could do to get her to st least give him the time of day. “So Monroe, you ever think of going professional? Or are you destined to become a vet?” He asked her, leaning against the fence when she past by.

Grayson watched her and ran a hand throughout his hair moving it from his face as he watched her trying his hardest to be nice. Though, he didn't understand why he cared. For some weird reason, this girl just got on his nerves. He blinked hearing her words and cross her arms.

He started at her confused at her words and said, "It's not exactly like you seem t like me either, for no reason at all either." He replied knowing it to be true. He crossed his arms over his chest as well mirroring her action, though not on purpose. He knew he wasn't hiding it well, but he had thought it hadn't been so noticable. He heard her words and snorted. "You don't know the first thing about me, so don't presume to." He replied narrowing his eyes at her. He watched her and shook his head gently hearing her words and said, "I was nice. You just don't care." He watched her leave and felt like punching something. He shook his head and headed towards his dorm room figuring he might as well hang there.

Zoe ignored him as he started to speak since her friend was present. She enjoyed his company. She smiled to herself a little before looking over hearing someone speaking again and glanced back over her shoulder seeing Jace and blinked hearing him call her Monroe and sighed. "I'll figure it out." She replied before waving before heading back to practice. At the end of practice, Zoe was in dire need of a shower and deodorant. She headed towards her dorm, knowing she didn't have long if she wanted to get ready for the party.

Once in her dorm, she took a shower. She got out putting on some deodorant before looking through her closet. She got dressed before quickly putting some of her hair up and then starting on her makeup. All the while she let her phone charge. She finished up and grabbed her purse and stuffed her phone in it before heading towrads the party. Once there, she smiled seeing her best friend and hugged him before sitting down sipping on some water and laughing as he started to speak with her. She looked far more attractive now that she was laughing and smiling. She didn't seem so stressed. She smiled leaning against a wall glancing over feeling eyes on her and saw some jock staring at her. She ignored it before looking back at her friend.

Aria made her way back to her dorm, not believing he had really treated her like that. She didn’t know what she had done to make him feel that way about her but she was glad if she’d left a bad impression. The last thing she wanted to do was see him again. Her friends were all heading over to the pier which was a place people from the University usually went to hang out and get drunk. She figured she didn’t have anything else do do so she tagged along, making minimal changes to her outfit and switching her wallet to her purse rather than her backpack.

Once they arrived she went straight to the bar and got a drink, standing under a lantern while she waited for her friends to come back. She stood out by the water, it was one of her favorite places though she preferred it more when it wasn’t as packed as it was right then. She met back up with her friends and tried sneaking through the crowd for a better spot and ended up bumping into a guy heading the opposite direction. “Oh sorry,” She said as she kept moving through the crowd.

Jace kept watch on the game, impressed by how good she was. He liked that she was seemingly talented and smart he just wished she’d give him the time of day. He headed out with his friends and then came back out, going to the party that he had hoped she’d come to. He stood off by the speakers and smiled when he saw tjay she had actually come.

“Hey Monroe,” He said, smirking in her direction. “Thought you weren’t coming?” He asked her, leaning against the wall so he wasn’t blocking her. “What was the change of heart? And when’s the game?” He asked curiously, noticing how pretty she looked under the lights. She looked so much brighter when she smiled, now if only he could get her to smile on his own accord.

Grayson shook his head not understanding why the fuck she was like that. She seemed so keen to point out that he didn't like her for no reason, but it seemed that she was being contradictory considering she didnt' like him for any reason as well. He ignored it though getting ready for the party figuring he would get shit faced and see if he would keep asking not knowing why but knew that she was the perfect person to tutor him. He wasn't going to take no for an answer. He ran a hand throughout his hair before heading towards the pier.

Once there, he got a beer in one hand and laughed with his friends shaking his head and even flirting with a few girls before heading through the crowd. He looked down feeling someone bump into him and noticed it was Aria. He raised an eyebrow before grabbing her hand gently and pulling her back and teased her, "Where you going?" He figured he'd at least mess with her since she had been so rude to him. He ran a hand through his hair noticing the drink in her hand and tsked her. "Drinking on a school night? How naughty." He smirked softly ignoring the ever growing crowd. It didn't bother him too much.

Zoe laughed at her best friend hitting his chest lightly when he made fun of the jock staring at her. She heard her name and blinked looking around to find the person who had said her name and was surprised to see Jace there, but guessed she shouldn't have been. "My friend asked me." She told him nodding her head towards Ethan. She watched him lean against the wall as she went to pass and glanced back hearing his words and rolled her eyes a little. "Friday." She replied to him figuring she couldn't really not tell him. The team needed as much support as possible.

She passed by him going into the kitchen to get a handful of chips. She headed back towards Ethan gasping when she felt someone's hand on her ass. She turned around furious. This was why she hated going to parties. She saw the offender was the jock that had been staring at her. She frowned and went to slap him but felt him grab her hand and pull her closer his nasty breath going on her face as he spoke. "Hey, you're hot." He laughed and she pulled her hand away from him and glared. "Don't touch me." She told him before feeling his arm snake around her waist and pull her close to him. "Don't be like that, baby." He told her acting hurt by her words.

Aria felt herself be pulled back and watched as her friends vanished from sight. She turned to see who it was and fought the urge to roll her eyes so hard he would be able to hear it. “I was just leaving. You?” She asked, pulling her arm out of his grasp and trying to ignore the crowd of people pushing him closer to her. She didn’t know what he wanted and at the moment she didn’t care either.

“And well yes, I’m an adult who had a particularly stressful day. A pretentious asshole decided that my intelligence was his for use to get him something that he wanted. Then that very same asshole decided to try to ruin my night purely out of spite.” She smiled sarcastically, her tone biting as she looked at him. “Maybe my next one should be stronger.” She said to him, pushing back against the crowd so that they didn’t end up shoving her straight into him.

Jace smiled and moved so she could walk past, figuring he’d get another chance to talk to her. The last thing he wanted was to come in too strong when he wanted her attention. He took another drink and went to the kitchen to refil his cup when he saw one of the guys he knew, not well but had spoken to a few times. He was visibly annoying her and it was one thing he hated.

He went over and pulled her out of his grasp, stepping between them. “Hey, she said no,” He said seriously, shaking his head and pulling her away. “You alright? He can be a dick when he’s drunk,” He explained, looking over her shoulder and then at her.
