It was 8 pm and Leighla was starting to close down the hair salon that she worked at. She turned the open sign to closed and locked the front door. She began sweeping the floors while absentmindedly listening to the music that was playing softly in the background while thinking about her life now and the choices she made. Leighla never thought she would return to Buffalo again, but with all the legal that her now ex-boyfriend, Zacky, was in back in Huntington Beach, she had to escape and Buffalo was the only place she could hide.

After cleaning the salon and setting it up for tomorrow's day of work, Leighla turned off the lights and completely locked down the salon before heading to her apartment. Leighla pulled into the parking lot of the house that is turned into triplex apartment. Her apartment was small with one bedroom, a decent size bathroom, kitchen, and living room, but it didn't compare to the beautiful 4 bedroom 2.5 bathroom house that she lived in with Zacky three years ago. However, this apartment was the only way she could keep a low profile.

Brian was sitting in his cell, waiting for the guards to come get him. He had been in prison for three years after being charged for Aggravated Assault, but he was getting released early for "good behavior", but he knew that once he was out, that he was going to go back and take care of unfinished business.

"Get up Haner." The prison guard called out, as they fumbled with the keys to his cell. Brian got up and put his hands behind his back so the guards could cuff him, before leading him out to where Matt and Johnny were waiting for him. The guards finished processing his paperwork for release and allowed Brian to leave, warning him that they are keeping an eye on him and his friends. Brian chuckled then headed over to Matt and Johnny who were standing there with their arms crossed. Matt lifted his chin but not before giving Brian a knowing smirk. They were going to get Zacky out of prison next, and then the boys were going to be back in business.

Haylee has just walked in the door of her small apartment, locking it behind her. She kicked her shoes off by the door and made her way to the bathroom, wanting to take a shower after a twelve hour shift at the hospital. Haylee hadn’t expected it to be so easy to find a job as a nurse in the Buffalo.

Everything had changed so much since she moved to Buffalo, it was all just in case Brian, her ex-boyfriend decided he wanted his friends to watch her. She had hopes that being so far away would make it harder for him to find her if and when he got out.

Zacky could hear the footsteps getting closer to his cell as he slowly lifted his head, making eye contact with the guard, “Baker, on your feet.” He said as he started unlocking the cell. A sigh left his lips as Zacky turned around with his arms behind his back and waited for the cold steel of the cuffs to touch his skin.

Watching as they finished his paperwork and lead him out to his friends, a small smirk crossing his lips as he saw that they had Brian out already. Everything was working in their favor for the time being, Zacky got his belongings and followed the guys out of the building. “Finally, back to the outside world,” Zacky laughed as they were finally outdoors.

Leighla made sure the doors to her apartment were locked. She had been paranoid ever since she left California. She was afraid that Zacky would gave friends look for her. Although Buffalo is across the country from California, she still afraid, especially now that she know how dangerous Zacky and his friends are. Zacky kept the dark side of him from Leighla the whole time they were dating. But besides that, she did miss him. He was good to her, he treated her like a princess.

Leighla sighed and went to her bathroom to wash off her makeup, put her hair in a bun, and change into tank top and sweats. She walked to the fridge and grabbed left over spaghetti that she made the night before.

Brian smirked at Zacky's comment. "So where are our girls? Are they at home, getting ready to welcome us back?" He said before lighting up a cigarette. "I could use a good fuck from Haylee, God knows its been 3 years since he has been laid, and it would be a nice "welcome home" gift from her. Taking a drag from his cigarette, inhaling the smoke into his lung before blowing it out. "Man it feels so damn good to be out of that shit hole."

Haylee climbed into the shower under the hot water and washed up. She took a few minutes to let the water just run over her. She had been a bit paranoid ever since leaving California, but she knew better than to let it get the best of her. After a few more minutes, Haylee shit the water off and wrapped a towel around herself before stepping out onto the mat on the floor.

For the longest time, Haylee had been afraid that one of Brian’s friends would be out looking for her. She was scared of being tracked down and drug back to California. A part of her missed him though, sure he lost his temper once in a great while, but ninety-nine percent of the time he was great to Haylee.

Hearing Brian mention the girls, Zacky could help the smirk that crossed his lips. There hadn’t been a single day in there that he hadn’t thought about Leighla.

“Actually, we need to talk to you two about that,” Matt started causing Zacky to look at him. “What happened?” He asked, almost afraid of Matt’s answer.

Matt hesitated, “The girls moved out of state, to Buffalo, New York...”

Zack’s eyes widened, “You just let them go?!” He was furious, he wasn’t sure if he should be more upset with the guys or at the fact that Leighla actually left him.

“We’ve kept a close eye on them, there’s nothing to worry about,” Matt told both of them.

After eating, Leighla washed her plate and headed to her room. She saw the photo of her and Zacky on her night stand. She picked it up and sat on the edge of the bed. The picture displayed Leighla sitting in Zacky's lap laughing. They were at the beach and Zacky told her a corny jokes, knowing that she loves corny jokes. Leighla felt a tear roll down her cheeks. She missed this side of Zacky and she wished that this was the only side to him and not him being a criminal. Leighla wiped the tear away before climbing into the bed and hugging the photo close to her.

"Why the fuck did they go to Buffalo of all places?" he grumbled, but then sighed. Haylee promised him that she wouldn't leave. Rubbing his hand through his hair, he smirked then shrugged his shoulders before looking at Zacky. "Shall we pay the ladies a visit?" He said with a mischievous grin. "Step on it Matt." He chuckled.

"You can run Haylee, but you can't hide. I will always find you my love." He said to himself as he turn on his phone, seeing a the photo of his beautiful girlfriend.

After getting her pajamas on, Haylee went to her bedroom and crawled into her bed. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she relaxed into the mattress. She had always hated being alone, mostly because it meant that she would have to sleep alone. Haylee went against her better judgement and unlocked her phone, going to the photo album of her and Brian from when they were together.

Stopping on a picture of the two when they were on the beach, Haylee was resting her head on his shoulder. They had been so happy, Brian’s criminal side had to ruin it.

“I was thinking the same thing,” Zacky said to Brian, knowing he wanted to see Leighla just as badly as Brian wanted to see Haylee.

Matt started driving to Buffalo, knowing his friends wanted to see their girls. He wasn’t ready for the long drive, but he knew it would have to be done.

Zacky saw the picture of Leighla on his screensaver and smiled, “Its been too long...” He said as he locked his phone again and looked out the window.

Leighla woke up in the middle of the night after falling asleep from crying. She hated that she was still in love with Zacky. She wanted to forget him, but she never could, because every little thing reminded her about her relationship. She always thought that the two of them would be married now. Leighla had seen a future with him, even if her family disapproved Zacky. She never knew why they did not like him, but now that she knows the truth, Leighla doesn't blame them. Leighla chucked the photo across the room, not caring that the frame cracked. She was going to forget Zacky once and for all, and live her life without fear.

A day and a half later, Matt pulled up to Haylee's apartment, of course making sure that they remained unseen. It was dark outside, but they still didn't want to get caught. Brian got out of the car and examine the outside of Haylee's apartment building. He was pissed that she was living some run down city apartment building, instead of their brand new 5-bedroom and 3-bathroom house back in sunny California. Buffalo is just a run down city that is still trying to survive, but easily keep failing. He looked up the window to see his beautiful girlfriend sitting in her bed, looking at her phone. Brian went back to the car, "I saw her. I'll wait until tomorrow to get her when i'm well rested." He smirked then took out his phone, typing her number. 'Good night angel. I'll see you very soon." he texted his girlfriend.

Haylee was finally starting to fall asleep when she heard her phone go off. Seeing the message, her eyes widened in horror, had he found her? Suddenly, every bit of paranoia that she had been pushing back came rushing out. She was panicking, of course she didn’t think Brian would hurt her, he practically worshiped her when they were together. Haylee was afraid that he would be upset that she had left, she wasn’t entirely sure how angry he would be. Deciding not to respond to his text message, she got up from her bed and glanced out the window for a moment before quickly pulling the curtains shut.

Zacky watched Brian outside Haylee’s apartment, “How far are we from Leighla’s?” He asked, hearing Matt tell him it was only about a block away, Zacky decided to walk there. After he got out, and Johnny followed they walked to Leighla’s apartment building, “You’ve got to be kidding me...” He couldn’t understand why she would rather live in the crowded, seemingly run down apartments instead of their home. Johnny pointed out her window and Zacky stared at it for a moment, “I don’t think I can wait...” He said, going over to the door.

Johnny looked at him, “Are you crazy? You literally just got out, you’re going to rush up there?”

Stopping for just a moment, Zack shrugged, “Let the guys know I’m here.” He said before opening up the door and making his way up to Leighla’s apartment. As he reached the door, he stopped, hesitating a moment before he knocked on it.

Leighla heard a knock on her door. It was three in the morning, and she didn't really talk to anyone in Buffalo, except for Haylee since they both ran away together. But she hadn't spoken to her in a while. Leighla turned on one of the small lamps in the living room before walking to the door. She was scared to open it and wish she had a peep hole to who it was so she could decide if she opened it or not. Leighla sighed and opened the door, however when she did, she saw her ex, Zacky standing there with his devilish smirk. Leighla screamed and tried to close the door to prevent him from coming in, but he was too strong and too quick. He walked in, closing the door behind him. "What are you don't here? H-how did you find me?" She asked, still terrified that he was in her home instead of at prison in California.

Brian took out a cigarette from the pack and lit it up. He saw Haylee check her window, looking for him. He knew that she received the text message and was probably paranoid. It what she gets for running away, leaving him. He took two more drags of his cigarette. Johnny came back to tell him and Matt that Zacky went in to Leighla's apartment to take her back home. Brian looked at Haylee's window, he couldn't wait no longer. He needed to hold her and get a taste of her. He hasn't seen her for three years, and Brian deserves that much. Brian found the door to apartment and barged in, breaking the door and making a loud commotion.

Haylee jumped as she heard a loud noise coming from the small entry way of her apartment. She had a feeling in the pit of her stomach that she knew who it was. Getting up she quickly locked her bedroom door and went over to sit on the edge of her bed. She knew her door wouldn’t hold, but she needed just the few extra seconds before she came face to face with Brian.

Zacky grinned as the door opened and he quickly made his way inside. “Did you really think the guys would let you leave and not keep tabs on you?” He asked her. “I got out early, good behavior,” Zacky wanted to laugh, his eyes going over her body. He raised an eyebrow as he looked at her, “Why would you want to live in this run down place when there’s a perfectly beautiful house in Cali for you?” He asked her.

Leighla was horrified when she found out that his friends knew where he had ran off to. She moved backwards, trying to keep away from him as he kept moving closer to him, but soon her back landed against the wall. Leighla tried to escape, but Zacky caught her and pinned her against the wall. She wish this was all a nightmare, but she knew that this wasn't the case. Leighla finally spoke after he asked her again but in a demanding way. "I'm living here to get away from you" she answered in fear. Soon Zacky let her go and picked up the picture frame that she threw earlier, it was now all cracked..

Brian smirked when heard Haylee locked the door to her bedroom. "I don't know why you are hiding from me angel. I thought you would be happy to see me." He taunted. He then kicked her bedroom door open, stripping it from the door frame. Brian looked at his girlfriend staring at him in fear, but his eyes roamed over her body in lust. He wanted to have her laying on her back and have his head between her thighs, tasting her juices. He snapped out of his lustful trance and walked over to her. "Now, now. Why would you run off to this shithole town and apartment, when you had a perfect and beautiful house back in Cali." He asked Haylee, running his fingers through her hair.

Haylee was frozen in fear as Brian ran his fingers through her hair. She couldn’t seem to get the words to come out. “W-what are you doing here? When did you get out?” She asked softly, slightly afraid of what he wanted to do with her. “I wanted to get away...” Haylee practically whispered.

The words felt like daggers to Zacky’s heart, she wanted to get away from him. Seeing their picture frame cracked, he turned to look at her, “You’re giving up on us?” He was angry and hurt, “I came here to bring you back home with me, where you belong.” He stated, it wasn’t a question, she was coming home with him.

Leighla shook her head, "I'm not going back with you Zacky. You're not the man I was in love with." She said, struggling out of his grip. She was terrified of going back to California with him, now knowing the type work does and the people he deals with. She doesn't want to end up dead due to him pissing off his enemies. "I said let go of me Zacky!" She screamed at him.

Brian leaned down and crashed his lips to hers, missing the feel of her beautiful plumped lips against his. "I got out yesterday morning for being on good behavior." He said then nuzzled his face against Haylees neck, leaving light kisses against her skin, 'Matt and Johnny kept tabs on you. So it was easy to find you my love. Although I'm hurt. I've worked my ass off to provide you everything that you needed. I gave you your dream house, your dream car, and I helped you start working at your dream job. But you decided to runaway." He growled, nipping the skin near her collar bone. He was itching to be inside of her, but he was having fun seeing the fear in her eyes.

The last thing Haylee had expected was for Brian to kiss her. She had missed the way his lips felt against hers, but there was no way she was going to kiss him back. “Brian, I can’t go back to California....” She said softly, afraid of how he was going to react.

“Don’t raise your voice with me, Leighla,” Zacky told her, not liking the way she was talking to him. He did his best to keep his calm as he looked down at her, “Come on, tell me that you didn’t miss me at all?” He questioned, hoping that she would just give it up and make it easy for him to get her home.

"I didn't miss you, Zacky." Leighla lied. She did miss him, but not not enough to go back with him. Leighla was still trying to her way out of his grip, but with no avail, instead they were now on her bed and Zacky was on top of her. This was the last position she wanted to be with him. "Zacky, let me go!!" She sad and then was able to get one hand free and smacked him. Leighla saw that his eyes got darker and now realized that was a big mistake

Brian snapped up to look at her, "And why the fuck not?" He growled, "I'm not going to stay here in this shithole town and there's no way I'm leaving you to stay here by yourself. If you know what's good for you, you would come with me." He said, "Go pack your shit now." Brian growled as he found a suitcase under bed. "You have 30 minutes to pack and you better pack or else." He threatened before walking out of her bedroom.

“Because Brian, if I would have known about this side of you, things would have been different,” Haylee said, looking up at him. She watched as he walked out of the room and hesitated, afraid of what he might do if he came back and she wasn’t packed. Moving slowly, she started packing her clothes and some other things she would need. She was trying to figure out how she could tell him she didn’t want to go back.

Zacky’s cheek was stinging from where she smacked him, he was ready to lose his shit, but he stopped himself. He moved off of her, “Leighla, pack your stuff, you’re coming home.” He found a suitcase and a duffel bag, “Pack, I’ll be back in a few minutes.” He said lowly, almost daring her to test him.

Leighla now scared to set him off even more, quickly began packing some of her belongings. She could never recall a time that he was this mean to her and she didn't understand why she has to follow his demands. Leighla was a grown as woman who could make her own decisions, but now Zacky is making her feel small and defenseless. Her bedroom door opened, signaling that he was in the room, but Leighla completely ignored him.

Brian texted Matt, letting him know that he will be coming back down to the vehicle with Haylee with him. Putting his phone away he walked back to Haylee's bedroom. "I hope you are packed or almost done packing. We need to fucking go in 5 minutes so we can make the drive back to Cali." He growled. A few minutes later Haylee walked out of the bedroom with two bags stuffed with her belongings, not saying anything to him. "You will thank me for this." Brian mumbled before following her out of the apartment and to Matt's truck.

Haylee was terrified when Brian came back in, she zipped up her suitcase and her bag, carrying them down the stairs as Brian followed her. She didn’t like seeing this side of Brian already, he was never so harsh with her before. After putting her bags in, she got in before Brian, not bothering to look at Matt or Johnny.

Zacky watched as Leighla finished packing her bags in silence. Once she was done and they were heading back downstairs, he sighed, “Everything is going to be fine...” He said quietly, taking one of her bags and walking outside as Matt and the others pulled up.
