Rising From The Darkness.

“Anytime, we have to watch out for each other,” Sam smiled over at her. Allie had always caught Sam’s eye, of course with their livelihood there was no way he’d be able to tell her. “Be safe, Allie,” he said, watching as she got in her car and started driving before he got in the Impala and waited for Dean.

Nikki smiled as Dean walked her to her truck, “Got it, Thanks Dean.” She flashed him a smile before climbing into her truck and starting it up. “See you boys at the bunker,” Nikki said before pulling out of the parking lot and following Allie towards the bunker.

Dean turned to look at Sam. "Alright, thank God they didn't freak out too much." Dean murmured as he slid into the driver's seat, waiting for Sam to put on his safety belt before he brought Baby to life. It wasn't a long drive to the bunker and Dean knew they'd be back before sundown, and the faster they got back, the faster that they could get to work on the chomper that Bobby had taken to the bunker. "Nikki's looking good." He smiled at the thought of the woman. "C'mon. Let's go beat this bastard."

Allie turned down the quiet road that led to the bunker, parking her loyal Cooper within the trees and overgrowth of grass and shrubs. Climbing out to stretch her legs, Allie smiled as she heard the familiar rumble of Nikki's Ford, and not far behind was the revving of the Impala. She tightened her jacket around herself, not seeing any trace of Bobby Singer's vehicle. He must of left as soon as he dropped off the Leviathan.

Sam glanced over at Dean when he mentioned Nikki, “When are you going to say something to her? You’ve been all about Nikki since we met her, I’m surprised you didn’t say anything when she mentioned retiring...” He looked out the window, “You wouldn’t know what to do if she went to live a normal life and met some other guy...” Sam was starting to think about telling Allie how he felt, his own words were starting to get to him.

Nikki pulled into the trees, making sure her truck was far enough out of sight. She got out and grabbed her bag from the bed of the truck before walking up to Allie, “The boys aren’t here yet?” She heard the rumble of the Impala, “Right on time.” Nikki laughed.

"Well, aren't you a good one to talk?" Dean shot back coolly, although his face still had a faint grin. "Allie's been looking at you with goo goo eyes and you've been ignoring the poor girl." Dean teased, completely ignoring the fact that Sam was right. He wouldn't like it, he wouldn't be happy if Nikki ever left the life of hunting to settle down into a normal routine. "Who knows, maybe one day she'll know." He murmured to himself, getting out of the Impala. "You girls need a hand with those bags?"

"You know what those two are like," Allie laughed, grabbing her own bag from her trunk. "Always have to make a Winchester entrance." She looked at Dean with an amused expression. "No thanks, I'm sure we're more than capable." Allie teased, following as Sam led the way to the bunker, opening up the doors and turning off the multiple layers of security.

“I can admit that was hypocritical of me,” Sam agreed with his brother, knowing neither one would be happy seeing their girls with anyone else. Once they arrived at the bunker, Sam got out and lead the girls inside, as they reached the main floor of the bunk, he turned to look at the girls, “Mske yourselves comfortable, we’ll be here for awhile.”

Nikki laughed, “That I do.” A small grin crossed her lips when Dean asked about their bags, “I got it, thanks though Dean.” She followed the others down into the bunker, stopping and putting her bag off into the corner. She sat down, “So, where are we starting with this thing?” Nikki asked.

“We were thinking torture first,” Dean explained. “It’s locked up in that creepy ass room behind the library right now, so it knows it’s in trouble.” Dean sat at the table, putting his feet up for a second. He wanted the girls, Nikki especially, to feel comfortable within the bunker before they continued. He kept his eyes on Nikki as he continued, watching her look around and get comfortable “If it doesn’t respond to torture, we’ll be hitting the big stuff — angel blades, silver bullets, dead man’s blood, beheading.” He looked somber for a moment. “All good?”

Allie dumped her bag down on the floor next to the chair she chose for herself. “Alright, cool.” She nodded to Dean’s words, her gaze falling on Sam for a quick moment. She always admired the taller man, and within the bunker she knew he was safe, and that was a big comfort for her. “Do we take it in turns?”

“We’ll do it in turns, but no one by themselves, just to be on the safe side,” Sam knew it wasn’t their best idea to just go at it, but it was the only choice they had until they found something solid. He looked at the girls, “So, if you two are comfortable going in together or I can go in with Allie and Dean with Nikki?”

Hearing Sam mention her being alone with Dean, she raised an eyebrow. “Would that be okay with you two? I mean, I’m not doubting your ability, but is it a good idea to split the two of you up?” She asked. Nikki wasn’t against going on after the thing with Dean, but she didn’t want to risk something going wrong.

“I think it’s a good idea.” Dean confirmed, his eyes meeting Nikki’s. “It’ll stop Sam and I from getting overprotective of each other.” He tried to seem casual about the suggestion but Dean was excited to have the opportunity to work with Nikki. She was a skilled Hunter, and she had been since the day she’d started. She picked it up so easily. “I’ll grab a beer. Nikki, you want one?” And that was the wonderful thing. Whenever he and Nikki had the rare occasion where they could hunt together, the both of them got to work and got it done.

Allie held her gaze on Sam, trying to decode him. Her eyebrows furrowed in curiosity. “Alright, well, what’re we waiting for?” She asked with a small smile, pulling herself to her feet. “We can get started now. The sooner we figure this out, the sooner we can clean up the mess.” She looked at Sam’s plaid shirt, unable to resist the urge to look and admire how good it looked on him. She motioned with her hand for Sam to lead the way to the warded room, letting Dean and Nikki have some alone time.

Sam was glad to hear Dean agree with him. He got up and lead Allie to the Leviathan and shut the door behind them. Glancing over at her, he nodded towards it, “You want the first go?” He asked, willing to let Allie take a shot at it before he did.

“Beer sounds great,” Nikki said, watching as Dean went to get beer and Sam and Allie went to start on the leviathan. She relaxed in the chair for a moment until she heard Dean’s footsteps coming back, she sat up straight and took the beer from him, “Thanks.”

“No problem,” Dean smiled back. “Alright, so... I was thinking bout what you said back at the diner. Were you really considering retiring?” Dean raised his eyebrows as he took a sip of his beer; resuming his previous position of his feet being up on the table as he leaned back in his chair. “Hell of a thing to do.”

Allie took a moment to study the creature as she nodded to Sam’s question. It took human form, but something about it was...off. She shuddered at the thought. The Leviathan was watching closely, but Allie didn’t want to admit that she had the shivers. Wordlessly, Allie grabbed the baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire from the table of weapons Bobby must have laid out, tightening her grip before she swung for the beast. The bat came into contact with the side of its skull, earning a look of annoyance, and not much more.

Sam watched as Allie chose the bat, crossing his arms over his chest he watched as she swung the bat. He was a bit surprised to see that it didn’t seem to be bothere, just annoyed. Glancing over at the weapons laying in front of them, he tried to get an idea of which one make the beast tick.

Nikki was a bit surprised to hear Dean ask her about retiring, “Yeah, I thought about it.” She took a sip of her beer, “I actually went ghost for a few months, just trying to get a feel of it I guess.” Nikki sighed, “I wanted a life, before all this, I wanted the kids, the house, all that junk.” She turned her beer in her hands, not looking at Dean, “Its just not possible, not now that I know what’s out there. Knowing that I’ve pissed off my fair share of monsters, I’d rather not give them more leverage against me...”

Allie frowned at the Leviathan as it remained indifferent about the weapons. "Fucker." She muttered, passing the bat to Sam. The Leviathan opened it's mouth, revealing it's set of teeth and forked tongue to try and scare the duo, causing Allie to roll her eyes. "Shut up, your breath stinks." She sneered, just a tiny bit freaked out about how it's mouth takes over it's whole face. "God damn."

Dean nodded in understanding. "Well, the bunker's doors are always open to you if you just want some good company and good beer." Dean raised his bottle in a cheers, not wanting to press Nikki on the subject. He'd known her for years, and he knew she had longed for normality, but he never actually expected her to pursue it. Hunting meant too much to her. "I'd protect you."

Sam rolled his eyes seeing its mouth, he took the bat and hit its face. Seeing no reaction, Sam went over to the table of weapons. He looked at Allie, “What do you think next?” He asked, curious to what she thought would be the next step.

Nikki smiled as she finished her beer, “Thanks Dean, I appreciate it...” She ran a hand through her hair, “We just aren’t the type that are meant for a normal life, huh?” A soft sigh escaped her lips, “I mean, sometimes I wonder what it’d be like if I never started, but there’s no point in that.”

Allie approached the table, looking up at Sam. "How about this?" She picked up angel blade that was borrowed to the bunker from Castiel. "If they were the first thing created by God, then this should sting. Start with the hand." She picked up the blade, twirling it in her hand before she approached the tied up man. She looked at it's face as she stabbed the blade through it's hand, making herself flinch at how unforgiving she was being.

"No point in dwelling, Nikki, it'll take you to bad places." Dean promised, sipping from his bottle. "But nah, I don't think we're the type that can live normally. We know what's out there. Other people don't." Dean explained gently. He rarely took a kind approach, but something in Nikki made him softer, more kinder. "You're a great hunter. The world needs you."

“That’s good thinking, maybe it’ll get us somewhere,” Sam said, watching Allie as she picked up the blade. He could see her flinch when she stabbed it in the hand. Walking up behind her, Sam places a hand on her shoulder, “I got it.” He took the blade out and moved to the other side, this time stabbing a bit past the wrist, hoping there would be a reaction.

Nikki nodded, “That’s the truth.” She knew it sounded selfish, but she had wanted a normal life when she was younger. “I mean, if we didn’t do this, then someone else would have to, right?” She was glad that Dean always seemed so caring and thoughtful when it came to her.

The vessel that the Leviathan was possessing merely flinched a little, but quickly regained his composure. "Jesus," Allie groaned, leaning her head on Sam's shoulder. "Alright, maybe we should let Dean and Nikki try. Nikki's a tough gal, she'll make him cry." Allie suggested.

"Exactly, and we're damn good at what we do." Dean confirmed. "So, chin up, press on, we've got this." Dean chugged the rest of his beer, hearing the silence. "They can't be getting any where with that thing we have tied up."

Sam nodded, “I think that’s the best idea, the two of them are likely to break him.” He sighed, grabbing the blade from its hand and putting it on the table, “Let’s go and let them have a shot at it.”

“That’s right we are,” Nikki watched as Sam and Allie walked out of the room. She stood up from the table and looked at Dean, “Shall we?” She smirked, leading Dean to the room.

Allie sat on a chair, murmuring in annoyance. "Fucking things." She cracked open a beer, sliding it to Sam almost expertly, before opening her own. "I mean, c'mon, I've seen demons cry. The hell is that?"

Dean smirked at the Leviathan. "Oh, you're in trouble." He said, approaching it slowly. "Here's how it's gonna work, asshole. Lady gets first pick and first stab at you, and you're gonna crack eventually."

Sam sat down at the table, grabbing the beer from the table. He took a drink, “Its worse than a demon, that’s what the problem is.” He looked over at her, “Dont let it get to you.”

Nikki walked over to the table, looking over the weapons, “Hmm.” She grabbed the demon blade, “I mean, I know it’s not a demon, but it’s worth a shot.” She gripped the blade and drug it down the leviathans arm.
