Alexandria nodded in agreement with Dominic. It seemed that he was already understanding the situation that they were in. So it definitely made her feel better to hear that the wolves would be sticking to their human form when around her people. Seeing them in their wolf forms made her nervous, though it really hadn't been that often. So she knew that it would unsettle some of her own people. "I am sure that everyone's safety is being taken care of by both of our people." She told him with a gentle smile.

"And that is fantastic. I'll give you a proper tour tomorrow then." Alexandria responded to him. She felt a little bad that she wouldn't be able to show Dominic around today. But, the truth was, she was just too tired. Her body was aching and Alexandria just wanted to lay down for a little while. At this point, the princess was rather sure that the hospital medication was making her more exhausted than anything else. But, after tonight, hopefully, she'll sleep it off and it'll be up to her prescription to handle any pain.

A light laugh left Alexandria and she gave him a small nod. "Well, we will see then. Though when I am done resting, I will be sure to come to find you, whether that is to play a game or to eat dinner." Alexandria reached out and laid a hand against his shoulder gently. "You should rest as well."

Her hand slowly slid from his shoulder before she stopped at one of the rooms and pointed it out. "This is the room that you'll be staying in." After saying that Bailey moved four doors down and grabbed onto the doorknob. "And is my room." Gently, Alexandria squeezed his shoulder before opening up the door and heading inside. "I'll see you in a bit." Alexandria smiled before slipping into the room and closing the door behind her, ready more than ever to go lay down.

Dominic managed to stay away from Alexandria's room after they got back to the castle, his body exhausted from having not actually slept in a comfortable position since his arrival in the country. He had refused to leave Alexandria's side when she was in the hospital. The thought of being so far away from her while she was healing wasn't something that he could handle and thankfully, his parents had understood. After all, they were wolves. They knew a wolf's need to be close to an injured packmate - let alone someone who he was supposed to marry in a few short months. So they had simply nodded and not offered an argument when Dominic insisted he stay close to Alexandria in the hospital.

That night had been an entirely different story though. Dominic spent the better part of time until midnight, pacing back and forth in his room. His nerves were on edge as he listened to the sounds from the rooms around him. Dominic was far enough away from Alexandria that he couldn't hear her or sense her in any other way. It was driving him completely crazy, his anxiety only continuing to grow as time went on. At some point, Dominic decided he was tired of this. He pulled his body door open, stepping into the hallway before shutting it behind him. Jogging down to Alexandria's room, Dominic didn't think about it as he shifted, settling down against her bedroom door. It was as close as he could get to Alexandria, Dominic would have to take it.

Each night he repeated the routine. Dominic would wait an hour or so before leaving his room, shifting and pressing himself against Alexandria's room. He was quiet, not wanting to alert anyone to what he was doing for he was sure it would be frowned upon by most. He was a wolf in a foreign country, just relaxing in the middle of the hallway because he still couldn't convince himself to sleep. Because what if he fell asleep and that was when they were attacked? And he wasn't able to protect Alexandria the way he was supposed to?

The last few days, as far as Alexandria was concerned, had been as well as she could hope for. Most of her time was spent with Dominic when she was not resting or speaking with her parents. It was important to her that Dominic felt welcome and had the opportunity to see the castle and some of the grounds. Though, they didn't leave the castle as she was still healing. Luckily, the stitches in her head were now dissolved but she still had the issue of her shoulder, which would take some time. Hopefully, after a few more days, she would be able to convince her family, and Dominic, to let her give him a tour of her country.

Though despite all of that, Alexandria was beginning to have some issues during the night. Her first night back, she had slept. But as the second night came around, things started to shift. She started getting nightmares of their attack. At first, it only occurred in the morning, before she was to wake. Though it was now beginning to shift to the middle of the night, reliving it all in her sleep. Tonight, Alexandria let out a quiet gasp as she woke up in a cold sweat, her eyes shooting open as she leaned forward. She laid her head against her knees as she took in a deep breath, trying to calm herself down but quickly being unable to.

The princess hesitated for a moment before swiftly sliding out of bed and pulling on her robe. She felt like a child, but the truth was that she felt though she needed to seek out Dominic. It was silly, she was safe here, but the truth was she felt safer close to him and she needed that feeling. She hoped he would not be upset with her waking him so late at night.

But, as she opened the door to the hallway, Alexandria froze and her body tensed up. She looked down at the large sleeping wolf that was pressed against her door. At first, a cold dread ran through her body. It took her a moment, but slowly Alexandria realized that it was Dominic. While she hadn't seen much of him in his wolf form, she had an idea of what he looked like. Besides, who else would just sleep outside of her room? Alexandria took in a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She knew she was safe with him, even in his wolf form, but she still felt unsettled. "Dominic?" Alexandria whispered, leaning down a bit as she did so. Her hand reached out, and it took her a moment of hesitation before she gently pressed her fingers into his fur at his shoulders.

Dominic had no clue that he had even managed to fall asleep while he laid outside of Alexandria's room. He hadn't meant to, not really. He just meant to be a bit mroe relaxed than the frantic level of anxiety that settled over him whenever he tried to sleep in his own guest room. He only started to stir when the door he was sleeping against opened. Dominic all but stumbled over himself to move onto his feet, his entire body going rigid as he seemed to realize what was going on. Part of it was shame that he was caught in a position he thought to be compromising. Part of it was that he was afraid Alexandria would be upset with him and that she wouldn't be comfortable with him in wolf form. After all, she had only seen him once when they were in his country and when they were attacked upon arriving to her home.

He tilted his head slightly at Alexandria's whisper, the only indication he gave that it was indeed him. But the moment her fingers brushed through his fur, the tension that had made Dominic's body rigid seemed to disappear. He hesitated for a moment, eyeing her warily. Making her uncomfortable was the last thing that he wanted to do but eventually, he relented. Dominic leaned into her touch, letting out a small whine as he tried to press closer to her. It was all his wolf wanted - to know that she was safe and to feel the comfort that Alexandria seemed to be trying to offer him.

Dominic swallowed as he glanced down the hallway, toward the direction of his room. He had been caught. He was sure Alexandria would request he leave and yet the very thought had his heart racing for multiple reasons. Dominic shifted on his paws, his body tensing all over again when he seemed to clue into what he thought had led Alexandria to leave her room in the middle of the night. He couldn't be certain but he thought he sensed a different sort of panic beneath the initial jolt of fear from seeing him in his wolf form.

Dominic whined, his ears going flat against his head as he turned so that he could nudge her hand with his snout. He wanted her to continue petting him because he thought it would have a dual purpose - it would help them both calm.

Alexandria could feel her body slowly beginning to relax as Dominic started to react to her. There had been some worry that it wasn't actually Dominic. After all, she had only seen his wolf form twice. Though how he tilted his head, the way he leaned into her hand and whined made her sure that it was indeed the prince. Even with that reassurance though, Alexandria did feel strange about the interaction. He was so calm and she didn't even think that was possible. The first time she saw him, Dominic urged her to leave and the last time he was fighting people off. How was it possible for Dominic to even be like this right now? Weren't wolf forms only brought out in anger?

The confusion started to enter the pool of fear she felt. But, at this point, she wasn't sure what was more upsetting to her, the nightmares or suddenly seeing a wolf at her door. Alexandria wasn't sure how ready she was for this. It was something she wanted to understand more but... it was scary to face something she had been afraid of for so long, even when it was someone who wouldn't hurt her.

Though as Dominic whined and nudged her hand, it only confirmed to Alexandria how badly she needed him right now. Wolf form or not. She moved slowly as she slid her fingers through his fur. She couldn't help the small whimper that escaped. Alexandria kinda felt like she was having an out of body experience for a moment. Though, as she continued to pet him, Alexandria slowly started to calm down. Her heartbeat stopped beating so hard and some of her thoughts turned to how amazingly soft Dominic, and how strangely long his fur seemed to be. She was sure she could hide her whole face in his coat and the temptation was there.

After a few moments, Alexandria dropped her hand from his fur. She knew that they couldn't stay in the hallway forever without getting caught. But the thought of sending Dominic back to his room caused her chest to tighten. Alexandria didn't want to be alone. It seemed silly but she would feel safer if he was with her instead of four rooms down, and it was clear he felt the same. It was a short distance but why did it seem to make such a difference? Alexandria glanced into the hallway, ensuring that no one was out before she opened her door and little wider and stepped to the side to let him in. "I just really want you with me tonight," Alexandria whispered. "Please, Dominic."

When Alexandria whimpered, Dominic pressed closer against her. His eyes fluttered shut and he breathed calmly, trying to focus on staying calm himself. He was sure that if he got upset in any way, it would manage to make the situation worse. He didn't want her upset in any way, much less for him to be the cause of it. The thought alone made him want to whine but he kept the noise to himself. He let out a content noise when it seemed like Alexandria was only continuing to calm down. It made him completely content to know he was having such an effect on her. Or he thought he was.

Dominic huffed when her hand dropped from his fur and he took a slight step back so that he could look up to him. Of all the things that he was expecting, Alexandria asking him to join her in the room was at the very bottom of the list. He jolted slightly, his eyes narrowing slightly as he studied her for a moment. It was clear that he wasn't sure if he should but then she was saying please and Dominic realized there was no way that he could say no to her. Even if he had wanted to.

Quickly, Dominic made his way into Alexandria's room. He wasted no time in jogging over to the bed. Had this been his room, Dominic would have hoped right on up with the intention of sleeping but this wasn't his room. It was Alexandria's room and he knew he needed to do good by her. Dominic sat back before suddenly standing up and making his way over to the bathroom. He nudged the door shut before he shifted, pulling the door open to reveal his bare torso. He wore a pair of sweatpants as he studied Alexandria's form, not sure what he was even supposed to say. Dominic was sure this was a pivotal moment between the pair.

Swallowing thickly, Dominic forced a gentle smile to his face. "Thought you would feel a bit more comfortable if I was like this," he spoke carefully, glancing around the room. He spotted a pretty comfortable looking chaise and nodded toward it before turning back to Alexandria. "I'll lay down on that, okay?" Without waiting for a response, Dominic started toward it. He paused as he came to it, twisting around to face her. "Do you want.. to talk about.. what was bothering you?"

Once they were both inside, Alexandria closed her door quietly and locked it. It would be terrible if someone were to walk in with Dominic inside, wolf form or not. Though she was just lucky that her locked door wouldn't be suspicious as she typically did so when she wanted to sleep in. However, as she turned back to Dominic, she watched as he made his way over to the bathroom. Only a few moments later did Alexandria watch human Dominic walkout. She blinked a few times. Why did it feel stranger having regular Dominic over wolf Dominic in her room?

After a moment, Alexandria tilted her head to the side, focusing on one of the windows for a moment. She shouldn't stare. Especially now that he was half-naked and it was causing her face to flush. "Your wolf was soft." Alexandria murmured softly in response. He wasn't wrong though, she did feel more comfortable around him than his wolf. Though she was beginning to see some positives to his wolf form. But it also brought up some questions in her that Alexandria was determined to ask later.

Alexandria shifted on her feet slightly as she looked back at Dominic, watching him head over to the chaise. "You don't have to if you don't want to," Alexandria responded quietly. "Though I am sure that it is more comfortable than the hospital chair you slept in." A light smile came over her lips at the thought. Since she was inviting Dominic in, asking him to stay with her, she wasn't going to force him to not share the bed with her. It wasn't that big of a deal unless they got caught. Still, a lot of trouble but finding him on the chaise versus the bed would make a difference.

As he asked his next question, a pause moved over Alexandria. Did she want to talk about it? Well, she knew she wasn't going to Dominic's room to talk, but telling him felt like the better option. Slowly, she nodded to Dominic before looking down slightly. It did feel slightly embarrassing to admit that it was just nightmares and nothing serious that caused her to seek him out. Though, the thought that she shouldn't be embarrassed since he was sleeping in the hallway for her did cross her mind. "I've been having nightmares since I came home, about the attack," Alexandria told him. "It just keeps replaying in my mind. Sometimes, it's the same as what happened and other times, it changes to something worse. Sleeping has become difficult and... well, honestly, you make me feel safe so I thought you could help."

Dominic let out a soft laugh at her comment about his fur. He gave a small nod of his head, shoving his hands into his pockets as he glanced down to his feet for a moment. "Wolves tend to be soft, unless there's an extenuating circumstance. Like if we were rolling around in the mud or perhaps we were injured and there was a lot of.." Dominic trailed off, realizing that he didn't want to scare her or something by mentioning blood. Often, wolves were disgusting after battle whether it was their blood or a humans' blood because wolves had teeth and claws and that was just what you expected.

Dominic's brows pulled together at Alexandria's offer to join her in the bed. He kept running her words through his mind several times over, trying to sort out what her ulterior motive was. Did she want him to but she wasn't comfortable enough to outright ask? Dominic was just about to ask her rather bluntly, before Alexandria started talking about her nightmares. Dominic swore that his heart stopped in that moment. He had failed her in so many ways and he was left feeling exactly as if he had. He squeezed his eyes shut ofr a moment before shaking his head as if to clear his thoughts.

He closed the distance between them in a few, short strides. Dominic didn't wait long enough to ask this time. Instead, he wrapped his arms tightly around Alexandria and pulled her into his chest. His grip was almost tight enough to be considered bruising but he was only trying to comfort the pair of them. Dominic swallowed thickly as he buried his face in her hair, exhaling slowly.

"I will never let any harm come to you again. I know it's hard and I am so sorry but I swear it. On my life and my kingdom - no one will ever hurt you ever again. For as long as I live, you will be safe," Dominic declared in a low voice. He started to run his fingers through her hair, in as much of an effort to calm himself as her. Dominic squeezed her gently, wishing that there was some way that he could go back in time and make this entire thing not happen. He felt like he had traumatized Alexandria in more ways than he wanted to thick about. But there was no way to make that happen.

As Alexandria lifted her head up to look to Dominic, she suddenly felt him wrapping his arms around her. A little gasp of surprise left her lips and her eyes widen, just for a moment. But once the surprise was gone, Alexandria was quick to wrap her arms around him, lightly pressing her fingers into his skin. She could feel Dominic burying his face into her hair, which only caused Alexandria to lean down and press her face against his neck. His grip on her made it a little hard to breathe, it was so tight, but she didn't care much at the moment. All she really wanted was his comfort.

At Dominic's declaration of safety, Alexandria managed to give him a little nod against him. Though she could feel her eyes starting to tear up a little. She appreciated what he was saying, and she believed that Dominic would do everything he could to ensure that she was never hurt again. But it didn't change the fact that she was scared. Not only of her nightmares but of what could happen in the future. And, this time, she had Dominic but her side but that wasn't always going to be the case. He was going to go home once this was over and then what would she do if there was another attack?

"I trust you." She whispered to him. Alexandria's grip on Dominic tightened, and her fingers pressed into his back a bit harder than before. It was a selfish reason, but she did want him to stay by her side just so she could feel safe. Though she wasn't ever going to ask him to do that just because of that. She would only ever ask him to stay with her because she wanted much more than that. She already knew that he did so she wouldn't play with those emotions. But, while he was here, Alexandria felt okay with asking Dominic to help her feel a bit better about it all.

Taking in a deep breath, Alexandria buried her face deeper into the side of his neck. She tried to calm herself back down, though it was difficult to do so. But she was at least able to blink away the tears that had started to well up before they could fall. And she was able to bring herself back down to earth through Dominic running his fingers through her hair. It was all just a lot to take in, the nightmares, the fear, petting Dominic's wolf and the declaration but she knew it would all be okay. "I'm just scared." She whispered to him. "I can't help but think about what would have happened if you weren't there. Or what could have happened even though you were. And they haven't even caught the people behind it so what if it happens again? What if they were just warming up?"

Dominic had been hellbent on not joining Alexandria in her bed but then Alexandria was expressing just how concerned she was and that had been all it took for Dominic's resolve to disappear. Dominic was quick to edge them over to the bed where he dropped down, bring Alexandria with him. He was careful to pull her over so that she was sitting beside him. Dominic's arm stayed wrapped around Alexandria, still refusing to loosen his grip. He gave her a sad sort of smile as he shook his head, reaching up to brush his fingers through her hair.

"Those soldiers were not prepared for what a wolf will do to protect its mate. It is one thing in battle when you are with brothers but to defend the life is an entirely different thing. Wolves have been known in the past to fight until help arrives and then.." Dominic trailed off, his face scrunching as h tried to figure out how he wanted to say the next part. "when they know their mate is safe, then they give in. It is tragic, of course, but it was something a wolf would never be able to stop themselves from."

Dominic twisted around in his seat so that he could look at Alexandria a bit easier. "If they were not able to defeat a single wolf, they will not be able to defeat an entire army. We have our very best soldiers here. Nothing will happen to you, even if they did choose to attack. I wouldn't allow it and neither would they. They don't know of the promise I made you and so they still view you as their prince's betrothed. They would die for you, if the situation called for it. It would be considered an honorable way to go."

"We are working tirelessly to find the people responsible and once we do. you're never going to have to worry ever again. Of course, should a threat ever arrive again, I will send aid," Dominic was careful as he spoke, brushing his thumb against her side. "I meant it when I said I would only be a phone call away from you for life. Always and forever."

As Dominic started to move them towards the bed, Alexandria was quick to follow his lead. She did not care where they were going as long as Dominic had the intention of not letting go anytime soon. But, soon, she found herself relaxing next to him in her bed. If she was honest, this was kinda what she had been hoping for when she started to make her way to his room. Though, Alexandria thought she would be crawling into his sheets and not the other way around. She just wanted to be able to feel that he was there when she did end up closing her eyes. To, hopefully, know that he was close when she was asleep. There was nothing impure about her intentions.

Though as Alexandria listened to Dominic's explanation of things, she couldn't help but wince. It was hard to think about anyone being in a situation like that, where one fought past what should be physically possible to save another before dying knowing that they were safe. It wasn't something that she wanted for either of them. She felt inclined to ask Dominic to not do such a thing for her until he explained that a wolf wouldn't be able to help themselves.

As he twisted around to look at her, Alexandria lifted her head up slightly, looking back at him. She gave him a little nod. His words did bring some worry, as she hoped that it wouldn't come to anything close to that. Though, she understood. And she greatly appreciated his protection in all of this. "I know," Alexandria whispered softly. "I know that there are people working on it, people that are willing to protect us...me. I know all of this in my mind, and I understand that I probably couldn't ever be safer with the amount of protection I have right now but..."

Alexandria let her words hang for a moment before she reached up and lightly pressed a hand against his cheek gently. Her thumb lightly brushed against the top of his cheek. "I'd feel better with you close to me. I feel a lot safer when you're near and, I don't know how you do it but you help me calm down. And, I think you must agree with a little since you were sleeping outside of my door." Her hand slowly slid from his face and her eyes started to search his face, hoping she wasn't pushing Dominic into a situation he felt uncomfortable with. "I just want you to stay with me tonight. I would understand if I am asking too much of you and if you would rather go back to the chaise or the door but..." Alexandria let out a small sigh, not wanting to go into too much detail about why she wanted him that close. "That is what I want. What do you want?"

Dominic couldn't have denied the way his heart leapt when Alexandria talked about just how safe she felt with him around. It made him feel good, like he was doing something right because Alexandria wanted him around. Even if she didn't want to follow through on the marriage, Dominic would be completely content. He had done something to prove to Alexandria that not all wolves were bad, like she had grown up believing. It told him he was still doing right, even if they didn't follow through on marrying. They could still work closely together to continue trying to mend the relationships between wolves and humans.

His lips twisted upward in a smile when Alexandria mentioned having no clue how he helped to calm her down. he was sure it had something to do with the fact that he viewed her as his mate. Though he couldn't be too sure especially considering that he had never really heard of such a thing happening before. Wolves and humans, they didn't mate. It was as simple as that, there was no in between. They had been at war for centuries. Dominic and Alexandria's union was supposed to change that.

Dominic let out a dry laugh as he shook his head, continuing to play with the ends of Alexandria's hair. "I've been sleeping out there every night since we arrived. I didn't like the idea of being so far away from you, when the responsible still haven't been caught." He wasn't too keen on telling her any of this but Alexandria had already caught him outside of her bedroom. There was no real point in hiding the truth from her. Dominic cleared his throat, nodding slightly when she moved to get more comfortable on the bed.

Dominic did the same but he remained above the blankets, figuring she might be a bit more comfortable if he did. If she wanted him to climb beneath the blankets, he would happily do so. "I didn't mean to fall asleep outside... just wanted to be closer, God forbid something did happen. A couple seconds could be pivotal in a fight," Dominic murmured. He gave her a small grin, holding his arm out. "Come here, I can still hold you," he teased softly. "If you'd like."

Alexandria did not think much of it when Dominic laid on top of the blankets. She knew why he was doing it, and, in truth, she appreciated it. It was clear to her that they were crossing a rather large line right now. Both in terms of the rules in her family, but also in terms of their personal relationship. Things had really started to turn for them since they came home and Alexandria could feel that this was one of those moments. But, she didn't exactly want to push it too far. Even so, she gently wrapped one of the blankets around Dominic so he was still sleeping on top of one but was able to not get closed.

"Let's not talk about fighting anymore," Alexandria whispered to him. While she understood why he kept bringing it up, it did make her more anxious about the possibilities of one happening. "Maybe it's a little strange but I find it reassuring that you've been watching over me the last few nights. Though I am surprised you weren't caught while in the hallway.

"I would like that a lot." A light smile moved over Alexandria's lips as he opened his arm to her. She was quick to move into his arms, still wanting to be held by Dominic. Alexandria pressed her forehead against his chest as her arms loosely wrapped around his sides. Her fingers started to slowly brush up and down along his back, finding it an easy way to calm herself back down. Though with her head pressed against his chest, Dominic's heartbeat also came through clearly and was able to bring Alexandria back to a point where she felt ready to sleep.

With her eyes closed and her mind finally calming down, Alexandria could feel herself drifting. Though, she lightly tugged on Dominic before she allowed herself to fall asleep. "Thank you, Dominic. It means a lot to me that you stayed. I really do feel better with you here."

Dominic knew that he had to respect Alexandria's family and her customs. That didn't mean that there was anything in this world that could stop Dominic from giving Alexandria exactly what she asked for. Dominic couldn't deny his pull to Alexandria and he would give anything to her that he could, so long as it was initiated by her. All he knew was that he didn't want to end up pushing things too far or fast for her. If she only ever wanted him close so that she could feel safe after the attack, so be it. Dominic could only hope for more. He was trying to stay guarded though because he knew that it would likely break him if Alexandria didn't end up wanting more out of their relationship.

Whatever walls that he had managed to build up over the past few weeks came crumbling down the moment that Alexandria had settled against his chest. The tension left his shoulders as he squeezed her, reminding himself that Dominic was here. That he wasn't dreaming when he felt her weight against his body. Dominic's fingers itched for more - he wanted to play with her hair and he wanted to get to know the crevices of her body. The parts that no one else knew, that no one would ever know but him. Dominic wanted to kiss her, he wondered what her lips would feel like.

His thoughts were racing as he tried to stay calm, knowing that if he let his desires get the best of him that he would likely end up scaring Alexandria. Dominic listened to her heartbeat, continuing to relax despite himself. "I'll always keep you safe," Dominic whispered. His stomach flipped and for a moment he considered if he should put some sense of distance between them but he couldn't bring himself to. He hesitated for just a moment longer before he pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead before he rested back against the pillows.

Even after Alexandria had managed to fall asleep, it was a bit more time before Dominic managed to drift off. His grip never loosened around her, holding Alexandria's body close to him.

With Dominic holding her close throughout the night, Alexandria was finally able to sleep peacefully. There had only been one point where she felt herself grow anxious as her fears threatened to visit her again in the night. But in her half dream-half awake haze, all she needed to do was feel Dominic under her. To lightly press her fingers against his skin and to hear his heartbeat. The nightmares' threat dissipated and she was quickly back to a heavy sleep.

As morning came, Alexandria started to stir against him, her body now ready for the day though her mind was still trying to grasp at the sleep she had missed the last few days. Even so, Alexandria knew she had to wake as she was not alone this morning and it would be a disaster if the two of them were caught.

A little sigh left the princess as she took a moment to bury her face into his chest, wanting to enjoy the comfort that Dominic brought her a moment longer. Though once she felt ready, Alexandria's eyes opened and her head slowly rolled off of his chest and onto the pillow beside him. But she could not help but drop her forehead down so it was resting against his lower cheek. Her hands around him slowly slid down until her fingers just rested against his sides. She was slowly unraveling herself from each other's hold, though admittedly she didn't really want to.

"Good morning," Alexandria whispered to Dominic, taking a moment to lightly shake Dominic at his side. Though she had a feeling that he was a rather light sleeper. She wouldn't be surprised if he was awake just when she started to move in the bed. "Thank you for staying with me. I feel a lot better with you here."

Dominic left far earlier than he would have preferred the next morning. He wanted nothing more than to turn right back around and settle into Alexandria's bed with her wrapped up in his arms. Where she belonged. Where she was safe, more importantly. The thought of Alexandria being harmed again had him on edge, even as he made his way back to his room to get ready for the day. There was a bit more of a pep in his step this time around because he had slept for the first time in nearly a week and a half. With Alexandria so close, there was no way that anything would happen to her. No way that he would ever let harm come to her. He was so content in that moment that he didn't even notice that someone was walking toward Alexandria's room as he stepped into his room, clad in nothing but a pair of sweatpants.
A gentle smile had settled on his features as Dominic made his way down to the dining room to have breakfast with Alexandria's family and his own as well. Dominic wore a pair of jeans and a plain shirt, with nothing on his feet as he padded into the kitchen. He spotted Alexandria and gave her an easy grin that seemed reserved only for her.

Dominic moved to drop down into the seat beside hers after hesitating for a moment. He reached over and gave Alexandria's hand a light squeeze before he pulled away from her so that neither of them would struggle to eat. Dominic was sure that the rest of her family wouldn't care for such forward affection but as far as he was concerned, her family would also have to respect that Dominic was a wolf. For as long as he was here, Dominic would be as friendly as Alexandria was comfortable with.

"Are you feeling up to a tour today?" Dominic asked, his voice light as he made an attempt to have a conversation with Alexandria. This felt different than when they had been in her room. There was a heaviness to the air in the room but Dominic wasn't quite sure why. He wrote it off as still needing to adjust to being in a world that wasn't really his own at all.

Having been here for so long, Dominic was beginning to be far more sympathetic about how Alexandria had felt when she first came to his country.

Alexandria had ensured to head to breakfast a few minutes early, wanting to chat with her parents for a few minutes before Dominic and his parents came down to join them. She was able to have a small conversation with them, reassuring her that everything was going well and to find out if there were any news on the investigation. The princess felt like things were beginning to settle again. Though as Dominic headed into the room, her attention immediately shifted to him.

A smile came over her face as Dominic sat down beside her. "Good morning," The princess said warmly. She glanced down at their hands for a moment as Dominic squeezed hers, Alexandria's smile grew larger. As Dominic pulled away his hand, Alexandria's own shifted for a second as though she was going to catch him to stop Dominic from pulling away. But, quickly, her hand set back down, allowing his hand to leave. "Yes, after breakfast?"

As Dominic's parents came into the room and settled into their chairs, Alexandria shifted her attention to the food in front of them. Though before she was able to even get a bite in, the head guard, Nathaniel came into the room. He bowed respectfully before turning his attention to the human King and Queen. "Your majesties. I have discovered something this morning that I could not in good conscious keep from you." Once he was given a motion to continue on, he did so. "I am afraid that Princess Alexandria and Prince Dominic are involved. I saw the prince leaving the princess's quarter's this morning."

At Nathaniel's words, Alexandria immediately became tense. She looked back at Nathanial for a moment, but as her mother started to speak, Alexandria's head swiveled back to her.

"Is this true?" The Queen asked, concern on her face. Alexandria hesitated for a moment, as though trying to find the right words to say. Though, after a moment, Alexandria dropped her head. "Yes, but it is not wha-"

The king slammed his fist down on the table to stop his daughter from finishing her sentence. "It does not matter what the reason is. This is incredibly inappropriate!"

Dominic's back stiffened as Nathanial continued speaking about what he had witnessed. His eyes narrowed as he turned toward the guard, his body tense as if he was ready to defend Alexandria. The last thing he would allow was for someone to upset her. But then the king was yelling and Dominic had to force back a growl as he exhaled. He was a wolf - if he lashed out, these people would be terrified. That wasn't what his supposed marriage was supposed to be about. His eyes locked on Alexandria for a brief moment before he turned away, shaking his head.

"Do not speak to Alexandria like that," Dominic's voice came out through gritted teeth, the hair on the back of his neck standing on end. His tone held no room for argument and he moved to stand, the chair being pushed back out of his way. "We may be in your lands but the least that can be afforded to your own daughter is respect. Is it not?"

Dominic held his hand up to stop the King from continuing, choosing to continue before the man could get a word in edge wise. "Your daughter is plagued with nightmares, unable to rest well because your people attacked her. While the guilty are still at large, I will do whatever I can to make her feel safe. If that means sleeping outside of her door, so be it. If that means staying in her room so that she knows she is safe and can rest..." Dominic trailed off, shrugging. "Then so be it. Your daughter's peace of mind should be a top priority right now!"

Nathaniel scoffed as he shook his head. "The men that attacked you would never have hurt the princess, even if she hid behind the convoy."

Dominic froze, his eyes flicking back and forth. He turned ever so slowly, his eyes flashing a bright red. "What?"

Nathaniel seemed to freeze at that, realizing what he'd just said. "Of course the men would have never harmed the princess! I mean, I-"

Dominic growled lowly, stalking toward Nathaniel. It had never been an important detail at all so Dominic hadn't bothered to share it. His hands twisted, morphing until they formed into claws as reached out, grabbing the guard's color. He shoved the man against the wall, his other hand slamming into the wall beside his head.

Vaguely, Dominic could hear his parents calling out to him but the only thing that he could think about was what Nathaniel had said. He'd known something Dominic had never bothered to mention to anyone else. "What. Do. You. Know?!" Dominic demanded, his fingers tightening around Nathaniel's neck.

The moment Dominic was upon his feet, Alexandria's eyes were glued to him. She could feel the vexation rolling off of him and it caused goosebumps to run down her arms and neck. Not many were willing to fight back with her father in such a manner, and it was something that Alexandria only did on very specific occasions, like finding out she was being married off to a stranger. While her parents were upset, and Alexandria knew she would be punished for breaking the rules, this wasn't something she wanted to push that much.

As Dominic mentioned the nightmares, Alexandria winced in displeasure. It was embarrassing, but more than that, there was a reason why she had kept it from her parents. Though, still, Alexandria waited for Dominic to say his piece before she started to reach out, wanting to grab him by the arm and lead him back to sitting down. Though things took a sudden turn for the worse as Nathaniel started to speak.

Her hand froze in mid-air, watching Dominic's eyes turn a bright red. Her anxiousness immediately burst through the roof. Though, admittedly, she didn't understand what turned Dominic so quickly. But as he started to stalk towards the head guard, Alexandria was on her feet. "Dominic," She said, hoping that would snap him out of it. Though, when it didn't, she spoke forcefully. "Dominic." The moment Nathaniel was slammed against the wall, madness ensued. Everyone started to yell at Dominic, saying his name, telling him to stop, commanding it. Alexandria turned to rush to him to pull him off but her father was quick to grab Alexandria and pull her back before yelling at guards to intervene.

Guards came rushing into the room and immediately moved to pull Dominic off of Nathaniel. It took a scary amount of men to get Dominic's hands behind his back and pushed onto his knees, a position they hoped would stop the half-wolf from becoming violent. As for Nathaniel, guards moved in between him and Dominic but ensured that the head guard stayed in the room and weaponless to avoid a disaster.

"What is the meaning of this?!" The King bellowed, pure fury coming through. "How dare you! You may not be my subject but you are in my kingdom. We have laws that demanded to be obeyed! You will no-"

Alexandria was quick to interrupt her father, trying to pull out of his grasp as she did so. It took him a few moments of hesitation before he released his daughter. "I am sure that he has a just cause! Please hear him out. I am certain that Dominic would not have attacked him if it wasn't serious." Alexandria then started to move towards Dominic, wanting to head over to calm him down. But, once again, her father was quick to grab onto the back of her dress and pull her back. He then looked to the wolf King and Queen, who nodded in agreement with Alexandria before the father spoke.

"We must hear what he has to say. My son is a decisive man but he only takes action like this when it is necessary." He turned to Dominic and nodded to him to speak.

Dominic easily avoided Alexandria's hand when she started to reach out toward him. He knew that his parents wouldn't react too harshly but in the back of his mind, he knew that Alexandria's would lash out at him for what he was about to do. But he didn't care. All he could think about was how close he had been to losing Alexandria. All under his own watch. He growled, his hand sliding up to Nathaniel's neck. He was going to rip it out and not feel an ounce of remorse because if Nathaniel was willing to sacrifice Alexandria, that was simply what she deserved.

"Get. Off," Dominic hissed through gritted teeth, barring his fangs when the guards rushed forward to pull him off of Nathaniel. Dominic struggled and it wasn't until the fifth guard rushed forward that they managed to move him away from the head guard. Even then, it was a struggle until two more rushed inside to pin his arms behind him.

Dominic's teeth were barred as he focused on Nathaniel, growling lowly as he fought the urge to shift. He knew that if he did, this whole thing was going to get a whole helluva lot messier than it already was. He hardly batted an eyelash when Alexandria's father shouted, his attention instead still focused forward. On Nathaniel.

The only thing that began to ground him was hearing Alexandria's voice. His shoulders sagged as he glanced backward, his eyes searching wildly for her. When he spotted her, his eyes locked on hers and it was only then that he began to relax. Still, his hearing was pinned on Nathaniel. Expecting the man to lash out because if Dominic's suspicions were correct, he had no way of knowing what else the man was capable of.

It was only when his father spoke that Dominic looked around, toward the human king and queen. "Nathaniel knows that Alexandria hid at the end of the convoy. As I instructed her to, to put distance between her and the assault. Never mentioned that to anyone because it wasn't important. Nathaniel knew that though, didn't he? Something that no one else should have known, details that were never released. But. He. Knew. Them," Dominic's voice came out in a low growl.

"He knows more than he's letting on. Nathaniel, he cannot be trusted," Dominic hissed out. He gave an angry tug on his arms. "You endanger my mate. And you think you can get away from it? You may have been afraid of us before but Nathaniel, you'll die by a wolf's hand. Before the end of the day," Dominic growled, his anger only spiking more, the longer that he thought about it.
