Once they resurfaced, Alexandria let out a laugh. She turned to Dominic, splashing him with water before mocking him a little. "[So sorry, I must have tripped." She rolled her eyes teasing, a large smile on her face as she did so. "Tripped, my ass. You did that on purpose!" Alexandria splashed Dominic with water again before swimming to the edge of the lake and sitting up on the edge of it. "You could have at least waited until I had my clothes off."

Alexandria pulled her top off, revealing a dark blue bikini top underneath. She pulled her bottoms down to reveal the dark blue bikini bottoms that went with it. After laying out the clothes behind her, Alexandria slid back into the water. She looked to Dominic, still smiling at him. "All you are is one big troublemaker, Dominic."

The princess wasn't in the least bit upset about the little prank that the prince had decided to pull. In truth, she found it rather amusing and playful. With Dominic, Alexandria felt like there was nothing to fear... at least not for the most part. Though she had been, for a moment, when he had suddenly grabbed her and started to run. It wasn't something she had been expecting and at that moment she had held onto him for dear life.

Though now that she was safely in the water, Alexandria's mind was switching. How was she going to get back at him? Alexandria glanced around for a few moments before suddenly floating to the top and spreading out like a starfish. "You were right though, the water is a great way to cool off."

Dominic couldn't have contained his grin if he had wanted to when he realized that Alexandria wasn't the least bit upset with his little prank. He had been worried that it was going to go sideways, that she was going to end up being upset with him but her laughter told him that she wasn't. He breathed a small side of relief, shrugging as he smiled up at her. He tilted his head to the side, studying her for a moment.

"My mother has always had trouble taming me, as she says," Dominic joked as he rolled his eyes. "I am serious when it matters but if there's a situation where I don't need to be so serious... my duties tend to take so much effort. Why not enjoy life where you can?" Dominic asked, holding his arms out to the side as he started to float on top of the water. He let out a content sigh, his eyes fluttering shut.

"I miss being as free as I can be here," Dominic said witha light sigh. "As free as I was as a child. Now it's all, go here, tend to that, do this... I'm surprised I even had the chance to escape long enough to have lunch with you," he teased as he floated closer to her. "I really do appreciate you joining me. I'm glad that we have the chance to just be alone. Get to know each other a bit," he added with an awkward shrug as he moved back into the water.

"Have you read anything interesting lately?"

"You have a point," Alexandria responded. "About enjoying life when you can. There is always so much going on so you might as well take a break when you have the chance. Otherwise, we would just be boring adults." She shrugged a bit before letting out a small sigh. "You'll be able to take a break from all of that once you come to my country though. Somehow I think it will be a bit too difficult to do your duties when you're so far from home."

Coming down from floating, Alexandria looked over at Dominic. "Well, thank you for inviting me. This is a really lovely place to be." Alexandria told him with a light smile. She let out a small hum as he asked what she had been reading. "Well, I have mostly been reading the golden books in the library. Just trying to learn more about your home and wolves in general." Alexandria gave him a little bit of a shrug. She was rather sure he was aware of everything that was in those books. So there didn't seem to be a good reason to really get into it.

With that, Alexandria swam down into the lake. She moved around a bit, glancing around at the fish and the floor of the lake. Though she ended up looking at Dominic's feet. A few bubbles came out of her mouth before she swam up and pulled Dominic down under the surface of the water. But before she would allow him to get her, Alexandria was quick to swim away.

Dominic had closed his eyes, just basking in the relief of being in the lake. He was so close to his mate that he didn't think anything else could matter. They were out in the wild without protection but Dominic was a powerful wolf, no one would dare hurt them. The thought seemed to just pass through his thoughts before Alexandria had flipped him into the water. he didn't have a chance to breathe before he was dunked underwater, coming up gasping and spluttering for breathe as he coughed. He faux glared at Alexandria as he spun toward her. "Oh, you're going to pay for that," he teased as he shook his head.
It had been nearly six hours since they had left the castle and despite not being gone for all that long, Dominic found himself on edge. He knew that the full moon was approaching, it would be upon them in just a few short hours and he wanted so badly to spend that time with Alexandria. He wanted to be at her feet, wrapped around her as her fingers worked through his fur. He was sure it would help ground him but he wasn't going to ask such a thing for her.

Dominic smiled lopsidedly as he helped Alexandria down from her horse. "I had a wonderful time with you," he teased softly before he turned toward her horse to grab her bag off of it. Dominic had had no suspicions at all so when he grabbed the bag, he grabbed it a bit too tightly.

Dominic frowned as he felt the tell tale shape of a knife inside. His stomach lurched as he pulled the bag open wordlessly, plucking the knife from inside. He winced as his skin started to sizzle, the silver scorching his skin as he dropped it on the ground. His brows pulled together as he turned toward Alexandria, a deep frown on his lips. "What is that?" He ground out, raising an eyebrow. Dominic was praying that he was wrong but something told him that he wasn't.

Alexandria turned back to Dominic, a deep frown coming over her face as she heard the clattering on the floor. Her eyes dropped down to the silver knife that was between them before she looked back up at Dominic. It was clear on Dominic's face that he wasn't pleased with the discovery. Though she could only hope that he wouldn't be overly mad about it. There was a chance that he would understand, wasn't there?

"It's a knife... made of silver," Alexandria said a bit hesitantly. She stepped towards it, picking it up before sliding it back in the sheath. The princess shifted a bit, feeling the anxiety build up in her. Oh, she really hoped that Dominic wouldn't be angry. She was so scared of seeing him finally shift if he was mad enough.

"It is just for my protection. Surely you understand that, don't you?" Alexandria spoke, her words coming out a bit defensively. The idea of Dominic being mad at her for carrying a weapon around seemed absurd to her. She was in a wolf's den and it would be too easy for her to become the meal. "You know that all of you are stronger than me. I don't plan on using it against anyone unless I have to. Only if they attack me first."

Alexandria paused for a second before continuing on. "Come on Dominic, surely you're not upset about this?"

Dominic knew in the back of his mind that it was wrong to be so angry with Alexandria. He knew it but he couldn't shake away the betrayal that he felt, the growing anger that seemed to be the only thing he could feel. He let out a small growl as he glared at her, his face hardening as his back stiffened. He let out a dry laugh as he shook his head, tossing her bag toward her. "You know what? No, I guess I am upset about this," he growled.

"You want to know something else? I could never hurt you. Not if I had a gun to my head," Dominic spat as he took a slow, calculated step toward her. He sneered as he shook his head ever so slowly. "You don't get that, do you? Not because you don't understand but because you don't want to!"

"You don't want to handle it because you're so damned scared that I'm a monster!" Dominic all but bellowed, his anger growing more and more evident as he glared down at Alexandria. He didn't take any more of a step forward. "Instead of realizing I would never dream of hurting you! Because the very idea of hurting you makes me sick. It makes me want to jam that damned knife into my heart!"

Dominic was breathing heavily as he started to back away from her, toward the exit of the stables without looking away from her. It wasn't until he stood in the doorway that he spoke. "I would never dare even think about hurting my fuckin' mate. But it seems that doesn't mean anything at all to you, does it?" Dominic snapped, shaking his head slowly. He huffed as he turned, stalking toward the castle. Dominic didn't stop until he reached his room, slamming the door shut behind him.

Alexandria caught the bag that Dominic threw off of her. Though she was quick to bring it to her chest, her arms wrapping around it. As she looked at Dominic, she could see the rage in his eyes, the pain. It made her feel sick to her stomach as the dread started to rise up in her. At no point had she considered that the thing she had to protect her might end up being the thing that got her hurt.

Her heart was racing as he spoke, her body tensing as Dominic took that step towards her. She could hear his words but they were racing around her head, difficult for her to fully take in. Alexandria knew what he was saying but all she could feel was the anger behind his words. His intent didn't matter when her own fear was beginning to kick in. Alexandria could feel herself caving in herself. It wasn't like her, to be timid, to not yell back. Damn, she wanted to scream back at him so badly. She shouldn't be yelled at for wanting to feel safe. Damn, there were times she carried weapons in her own damn country for protection. Did he really think that this place was safe for her, even if she wasn't fearful?

Alexandria kept her head down, not wanting to look at Dominic, not wanting to anger him more than he already was. She winched as he mentioned using the dagger on himself. It wasn't a pretty thought. The princess continued to stay still as Dominic walked out of the stables. she was hoping that this was it, that there would be no more. But the last words that came from Dominic were the worst. Something that she had hoped she would never have to hear, that she was his mate. It caused her heart to drop completely in her stomach. She wanted to throw up.

The princess stood there for a minute until she knew that Dominic was gone. Once she was sure she was safe again, Alexandria just started to scream. There was so much rage in her that she needed to be able to release it. She was furious that she couldn't fight back, couldn't speak her mind. Furious that Dominic had to tell her the truth. That she was his fucking mate. As the last bit of breath left Alexandria's body, she stood there for another moment, breathing heavily as the horses all moved restlessly in their stable, having been displeased with the yelling.

"I don't know if he's a monster but I know he's a fucking asshole," Alexandria mumbled under her breath. Slowly, Alexandria stood up straight and started to wipe away the tears that were now welling up. She made her way back to her room, almost stomping the whole way there. There was one plus to being Dominic's mate, now she knew she could rip him a new one the next time she saw him because apparently there was no way in hell he would be able to hurt her.

Dominic had ignored all of the strange looks and the whispering that started with every person that he passed. His servants were weary to even bow to him because they had never seen Dominic in such a rage. he wasn't the sort of wolf to get angry because people tended to do silly things when they were angry. Dominic understood that very well. But he couldn't shake the feeling of betrayal from his body at the thought of Alexandria carrying a silver knife around. His hand still ached, red and inflamed from touching the weapon for only a few, short moments before he'd dropped it between them. Before he had yelled at Alexandria. He knew it was awful but he wasn't even sorry. He would never dare to even think of hurting her but it had seemed she was ready to handle a weapon against him if need be.

It stung because Dominic would never do such a thing. It killed him because he wanted nothing more than to be close to her. To love her and cherish her like a mate was supposed to but it was beginning to dawn on Dominic that may not ever happen. If Alexandria was so happy and carefree with him in one moment, only to bring a weapon along on their short trip... it churned his stomach. Dominic left his bedroom and was down in the gym in no time at all.

He turned on the treadmill and ran for what seemed like hours, needing to tire out his body before the full moon. Dominic hardly felt spent even as he turned the machine off and moved toward the weight, his chest rising and falling heavily as he began to work on his arms. Looking p, his eyes narrowed as he noticed the time on the clock. It was nearly midnight. Just before his inevitable shift. Exhaling, Dominic turned and reluctantly made his way back toward his room. He kicked the door shut, not bothering to lock it as he made his way into the bathroom. He had just enough time to freshen up before he shifted.

Dropping onto the reading bench in the corner of his room, against the window, Dominic groaned as the shift started. Bones cracked and shifted, his skin morphing until he was in his wolf form. Dominic stretched out, trying to ignroe the pain the shift had caused him.

For the rest of the day, Alexandria had been furious with what had occurred. She couldn't believe that Dominic didn't understand, that he had just blown up at her like that. He always had his weapons on him. A quick shift and he was ready to fight whoever he wanted. But how dare she carry a weapon around! How dare she protect herself against those who had their own weapons with them! She had been scared since she got here, didn't he see that? Alexandria knew that he knew. And it wasn't like she had been there for very long.

It wasn't until night fell that Alexandria was able to calm down from the event in the stables. And once she was able to calm down, her mind became clear. She was able to truly think about how he might have seen it. To understand why Dominic could have been upset about the turn-on events. It took her some time but once Alexandria realized, she started to feel almost guilty. The princess still didn't think she was in the wrong for carrying something that could protect her. But she felt that maybe... maybe she was a little wrong for bringing it on their trip alone.

She could see how it would upset Dominic. He was in love with her. That wasn't his fault, it was just what had happened. And the person he loved brought a weapon that could hurt him on their trip alone. In a way, that was admitting that she would be willing to hurt him. That must not feel good. If she was in his shoes, Alexandria would be upset.

Once Alexandria understood, she knew she had to make things right. It was something they needed to talk about but she needed to take the first step. Some time had passed before Alexandria was able to think of something that would be a show of good faith. Taking one of her old sweatshirts, Alexandria folded it before making her way to Dominic's room.

At the door, Alexandria knocked softly. The open door started to widen. She was hoping he was still awake. Alexandria had been too upset to go to sleep before trying to talk to him. "Dominic?" Alexandria called out softly. "I want to apologize... I can come back later."

Alexandria opened up his door a bit wider to look inside. Though what she saw caused her blood to run cold. Her whole body tensed up in pure dread at the sight of the wolf. It was terrifyingly large. Surely her whole head could fit in his jaws. She took a step back, thinking it might be best if she just booked it back to her room, to safety. It hadn't noticed her, had it?

Dominic was far too restless to be able to sleep through the night. He knew that most of his pack would be the same, all shifted into their wolf form as they tried to get through this full moon. Some would be running out the energy, some would be doing other.. activities. Dominic, he was forcing himself in the room to keep away from Alexandria. She was still utterly terrified of him, to the point she felt the need to bring a silver knife with her on their outing together. There was no point in him trying to avoid the truth, Alexandria was not ready to accept their truth and he didn't know if she ever was going to be. The thought killed him, made his very soul ache over thinking that Alexandria would never love him.

He groaned as he shifted, curling into a ball instead. His eyes fluttered shut. Dominic only moved when eh heard his door open. His head snapped up, watching Alexandria. He cocked his head to the side but all he did was watch her. He blinked slowly, letting out a small whine despite himself when she took a step back. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end as he watched her, wanting nothing more than to close the distance between them.

Dominic grimaced as he shifted back to his human form, his body contorted in pain as a thin layer of sweat broke out over his forehead. His eyes squeezed shut as he arched off the couch, breathing deeply as pain worked its way through him. "Y-You. Need.. to.." he paused, groaning as his head rolled to the side. He wanted to ask her to say but he knew that was far beyond something that was acceptable. "Go. Please."

The hair on the back of Alexandria's neck stood up straight as she watched Dominic shift from his wolf form to his human one. It was a horrible sight and Alexandria was sure that she was about to become sick. The way his skin changed, how the bones moved from one place to another. It was unlike something she had seen before and the look of pain on Dominic's face was all she needed to know about it.

Though as much as she wanted to run, Alexandria was stuck in place as she waited for Dominic to be himself again. She wanted to show that she would try for Dominic. Alexandria didn't love him, she didn't think she ever would. But she wanted to try to be thoughtful of the fact that he loved her. She didn't want to put him through such large amounts of pain for something that he didn't get to choose. It was unfair. It was terrible that Dominic had her as a mate. She wouldn't be able to give him the love he deserved and that made Alexandria's heartache for him.

Once Dominic asked her to go, Alexandria nodded and took a few steps back. If he thought she needed to leave, she wasn't going to argue. It only confirmed to her that wolves had a hard time controlling herself. But Alexandria was quick to turn back and to lay the sweatshirt down on the ground outside of his door. She looked to him for a moment, worry in her eyes. Perhaps he wouldn't enjoy having a sweatshirt that smelled of her. Alexandria didn't know if she was doing the right thing or not but it seemed she wouldn't be able to find out until the morning. "I brought this for you."

As soon as those words left her lips, Alexandria went into a full-on run down the hallway. The moment she was in her room, Alexandria closed and locked the door behind her. She had no intention of leaving her room until someone came to get her. There was something weird going on and she could hear it in the howls going on outside.

Dominic had to fight every instinct in his body to rush after Alexandria when she ran from him. He wanted to tell her that being near her when he was going through the full moon would only serve to ground him. It wouldn't endanger her, it would just bring him back to the Earth so that he could go through the moon without giving into his worst instincts. Instead, Dominic simply laid there on the bench, his eyes dropping to the sweater that she had left for him. He let out a long, sorrowful whine after he shifted back. Dominic didn't dare budge from his spot, not trusting himself not to seek Alexandria out if he did. It wasn't until hours rolled by that he forced himself off of the bench.

Dominic grabbed the sweater between his teeth, nudging the door shut with his side. He trotted over to the bed and climbed up instead, burying his snout in the material of the sweater. He inhaled deeply, a feeling of contentment washing over him. Hours passed before he shifted effortlessly back into his human form. Dominic huffed as he dragged himself to his feet, heading into the bathroom to run himself a hot bath. He was exhausted from not sleeping all night but he knew that he wouldn't be able to sleep without taking a bath to calm the ache in his body.

The moment that he was out of the tub, Dominic collapsed on his bed and started to fall asleep without much more thought. He slept through most of the day and into the evening. He only left his room to start down to dinner, knowing that it was the first time many of his packmates would be socializing since the full moon. Dominic considered stopping by Alexandria's room and asking her to join him but after the day before, he wasn't sure she'd want to be around him. Or any other wolf for that matter.

The moment that Alexandria had locked herself up in her room, she absolutely refused to leave it. She had no idea what was going on out there but Alexandria was sure that it was not something she wanted to be a part of. There were wolves, there was no doubt in her mind. Despite the fact that Alexandria couldn't see it for herself, she knew that they were not in their human form. She could hear the howling, hear them walking around. Even a few times during the night, Alexandria swore she heard something clawing at her door.

As the morning came around, Alexandria had hoped that things would turn back to normal. But even then, she could hear those strange noises. She felt restless throughout the day, unable to sleep during the night or during the day. Feeling too scared to leave her room. Alexandria wanted to go eat, to go to the library to learn what was occurring out there but she couldn't. There was no choice for her but to stay put until someone came to get her.

Once the sun started to set, Alexandria let out a whimper. She was starving and the fear she felt was basically radiating from her room as a whole. Things had quieted down but even then the princess wasn't sure if it was safe to leave. Alexandria was beginning to question if she had made it up from the beginning. Wouldn't have someone told her everyone was going to turn? Wouldn't there be a warning? Maybe she was just too scared after what had occurred the day before.

Alexandria pulled her knees into her chest, burying her face into them. She started sobbing. This was Hell. Being here, not knowing what was going on, knowing she couldn't protect herself. Knowing that she would end up crushing Dominic's poor heart. All she wanted was to go home, to get away from this. Why would her parents do this to her?

Dominic was just sitting down to eat when one of the servants came to his side. They leaned forward, barely even making noise as they whispered about Alexandria having not left her room since the early hours of the morning. Which only meant one thing - she hadn't even had a bight to eat all day. The same could be said about Dominic but that had been because he was passed out for a majority of the day, as were the rest of the wolves.

He hung his head, realizing that despite how badly he wanted to avoid the situation, that he could. He needed to tend to Alexandria, even if he was positive that she would want nothing at all to do with him. The thought alone made his heart ache, to know that his mate wanted nothing to do with him. Dominic would cry about it, if he thought that it was acceptable to show such weakness in front of his pack.

Dominic raised to his feet instead of eating, ordering a plate to be prepared for Alexandria. He could eat later, once he was sure that the princess had eaten and taken care of her. With the prepared plate in his hands, Dominic made his way toward Alexandria's room. He paused outside of the door, chewing on the inside of his lip. Balancing the plate in one hand, Dominic knocked on the door before he took a small step backward.

Huffing when there was no answer, Dominic inhaled deeply. It was then that Alexandria's sadness hit him, the dreaded scent hitting him so hard it nearly knocked him off of his feet. His back stiffened as he frowned. "Alexandria. Open this door," he called, his voice low. "Please."

At the sound of knocking, Alexandria had not moved an inch. She had heard enough strange sounds throughout the day that a knock on her door was not going to even phase Alexandria. But once she heard Dominic's voice, Alexandria lifted her head. She was quiet for a moment, still as she looked at the door. Part of her wanted to rush over to the door and throw it open. He was the only one she knew for a fact was safe to be around. The fact that she was his mate protected her completely.

But part of Alexandria wanted to ignore the knock. Even though she knew that in some portion, she was wrong about the fight about the knife, Alexandria was still admittedly upset about it. Even more so after what had occurred throughout the day. Though also she felt embarrassed. Embarrassed about the night before and about what was surely going to happen now.

Even so, she pushed herself up onto her feet, shaking the blanket off of her and letting it fall to the ground where she had been sitting. Alexandria wiped her face before unlocking the door. She wasn't going to let herself cry in front of Dominic, especially not with everything going on now. Alexandria needed to push through this head-on. What she wanted was to find a way where they could both be a little happy with the other for now. Though who knew what would come later...

Slowly, Alexandria opened up the door to her room so that Dominic could walk in. It clearly looked like a room where someone had spent the whole day in. While it wasn't overly messy, there were things scattered here and there. Once Dominic was fully inside, Alexandria closed the door behind him. She reached up to lock it but eventually dropped her hand back to her side. Alexandria's heart couldn't take him yelling at her again and she was worried that locking the door to keep the others out would set him off at this point.

So, Alexandria turned back to Dominic, wrapping her arms around herself as she shifted awkwardly back and forth. She wanted to ask a million questions about what was going on but it seemed best to let him start. Her head was down as she waited for Dominic to speak. She was afraid that he as going to lay into her again.

Dominic was surprised when Alexandria stepped out of his way to let him in, having fully expected to onl ygive her the plate of food before retreating. He swallowed around the lump that formed in his throat. His eyes narrowed slightly, wondering very briefly if this was all a trick or not. Eventually, Dominic stepped inside with the plate gripped tightly. He turned toward the small table in the corner of her room and moved forward, setting it down carefully. Dominic turned back toward her, moving away from it quickly.

He motioned toward the food that he had brought in for her. Dominic held his hands behind his back, watching her quietly. He frowned, wanting to speak to her but he didn't want to push it more than he already had. They had both hurt each other. Dominic knew that he held all of the power here and bringing it up, he wasn't sure how she would take it. He didn't want to scare her more than he was sure he alread had.

Dominic cleared his throat, shifting his weight awkwardly. "You need to eat," he finally spoke, refusing to lok at her. It pained him to be in the same room as Alexandria and to feel the fear wafting off of her. "You haven't eaten all day and that isn't good," he pointed out lowly. He ground his teeth together before he started toward the door.

Dominic exhaled as he set his hand on the doorknob, turning toward Alexandria slowly. He tilted his ehad to the side. He wanted to tell her that she could return home - that he would not go with her because after yesterday, Dominic was sure that she would never love him but he knew what doing that would mean. A war would be waged, likely before Alexandria even reached her home. "Do you.. need anything else?"

Alexandria felt ill as she watched Dominic move through the room without saying a word. And even when he started to speak, it wasn't the words that she expected him to say or even wanted him to. She wanted to talk about what had happened, both throughout the house and between them. It seemed that Dominic was not in the mood to talk about either. That wasn't what she wanted but she would respect his wishes, to a certain degree. Even if he didn't want to talk, there was something that Alexandria wanted to say, in the least she was hoping that Dominic would confirm what had been going on, if anything.

So when Dominic asked if there was anything that she needed, Alexandria nodded to him. Though it took her a few moments to her voice. With what had happened, she had not spoken a word all day. so she needed that time to find her voice again. "I didn't mean to," Alexandria spoke, only barely able to get her voice above a whisper. "Not to eat all day that is. I wanted to but I didn't understand what was happening or if it was...safe for me to leave my room." Alexandria held onto the sides of her shirt before continuing on.

"I'm sorry. I am sorry that I am being a bother to you. I do not mean to be. All I know is that you told me to leave your room last night and once I got back here I heard many strange noises. It sounded like there were wolves out and I didn't know what to do so I thought I would stay here until I knew it was safe or until you came to find me. I just didn't understand what was going on." Alexandria dropped her head again. Now that she was saying it, it sounded ridiculous. She was becoming worried that her paranoia got the better of her. Maybe there were no wolves out last night and today and her mind got the better of her.

"I am sorry," Alexandria repeated again. "I'll make sure to take care of myself so you don't have to do this again. I..." Her nose wrinkled a bit before shaking her head and heading over to the small table. There was a lot more she wanted to say but Alexandira was sure that Dominic wasn't in the mood.

Dominic scoffed at Alexandria's words, fixing her with a hard gaze. He knew that he was being cruel but all he could picture was the dagger that she had stowed away. To use on him if he had decided to hurt her. Didn't she learn anything over her time here? He had had plenty of opportunities to kill her, if he had wanted to. And yet, Dominic hadn't done a single thing to harm her. "You still don't get it, do you? Not a single fucking person here would dream of hurting you. They hurt you, they answer to me. They aren't stupid - they understand what happens when you hurt an alpha's mate. They don't want to die like that." There was nothing more that Dominic ffelt he needed to say because he could feel the panic washing off of her. He knew that she was afraid of him, even if she tried to play it off and pretend that she was fine. There was no lying about your emotions to a wolf. Alexandria would have to figure that out, sooner or later.

He wanted so badly to comfort his mate, he wanted to wrap her in his arms and he wanted to tell her she was safe. That she would never have to worry about being hurt. Dominic would keep her safe. But she hadn't even felt safe when he took her out on a date to the waterfall, he doubted that she would start to feel safe now. There was simply no way. Dominic shook his head as he pulled the bedroom door open, his heart aching as he listened to her continue to speak.

"Maybe go find a book about nature's affects on wolves. Maybe reading that'll give you some fuckin' clue as to what happened last night. Since you can't seem to want to ask me anything. Maybe find a book about mates and what that means for an alpha," Dominic all but growled before he stepped through the door, pulling the door closed before he walked away from the bedroom.

    {I know he's all angry and defensive now but if you want me to change that, let me know }

A sigh escaped Alexandria's lips after Dominic left her room in a huff. She dropped her hands into her face, beginning to rub the side of her head. Alexandria wanted to cry, but she didn't. Mostly because she was also irritated about how everything was going down. It didn't seem fair to her that Dominic expected her to understand wolves or their culture. His words also made it clear to her that he understood very little about humans and her culture. It wasn't all that odd for humans to carry around weapons. Humans didn't have the same bonds and their allegiances could often be fickle. Hell, she always had something on her when out in public for safety...

Though Alexandria knew that wasn't a good enough excuse. She hurt Dominic deeply with her worry and fear and that was her fault, no one else's. Alexandria would have been better off asking for permission at first, or asking if she needed it due to how it was almost mandatory at her home. Though she hadn't. Alexandria made a mistake and now she was suffering those consequences... But Dominic wasn't making it easy on her to gain his forgiveness or Alexandria worried that if he continued like this, she would no longer even try. After all, she was getting rather mad as well.

It was unfair on how he expected her to understand wolves. It was cruel of him to expect her to just know that they wouldn't harm her. Even more so since it seemed Dominic put that basis especially on the fact that she was his mate. How could Alexandria ever know that without being told? She didn't have the instincts he had. And she hated how he threw the research she had been doing back in her face as well. Alexandria wanted to learn more. Perhaps it was silly that she didn't ask Dominic questions but it really couldn't be all that bad. She doubted that they would never get offended by a question or how she asked it.

Her stomach twisted at all of this and she found it impossible to want to eat at this point. Out of irritation, Alexandria fully chucked the whole plate and food into the trash, though she winced as she heard it shatter. Another foolish mistake to add to the list. With that, Alexandria took a shower to try and calm herself down before heading to bed.

Once morning came, Alexandria woke early and dressed. She managed to get into the kitchen before anyone else entered and grabbed a plate of non-messy foods before making her way to the library. Maybe there she could find a solution to her Dominic problem, just trying to get him to calm down by about 100%. In the least, Alexandria was sure she could find something on what occurred the night before.

(No, I love it! If it continues, even to a lesser extent, Alexandria will just explode on him.)

    {excellent tehe }

Dominic knew that he had things to tend to but at the moment, he knew that he needed to run off steam before he lashed out on someone who didn't deserve it. He hadn't told a single person what had happened between him and Alexandria. He knew that if he did, at least one person would react violently and he wasn't sure that he could even blame them. Had Alexandria chosen to brandish the weapon, he wasn't sure that he would have been able to defend himself. Not against someone who was so important and vital to his well being. The very thought of hurting Alexandria... it made his skin crawl.

He stepped through the front entrance of their home, shifting as he leapt off of the front steps. Dominic's body contorted in the middle of his jump, his paws hitting the ground just in time to catch himself. Dominic took off running, having no real clue when he would return. He was just focused on trying to relax as much as he was able to.
Dominic didn't return until two days later. He didn't say a word as he walked through the front door, starting toward the kitchen. He was exhausted in a good way. Dominic wanted nothing more than to go to sleep but he'd been running and sleeping out in the open for nearly two days. He had feasted in small animals here and there but nothing of near enough substance.

Pulling out a container of left over chicken parmesan, Dominic didn't even bother to heat it up before he started to dig in. He dropped onto a stool at the kitchen counter, not bothering to say anything to the people milling about. They kept glancing his way but he ignored them, focusing on eating before he retired to his room for a well deserved nap.
