"We will buy ourselves birthday whiskey," Eva joked lightly, grinning as she peered over at her sister, amused. As they got into the house, though, she paused with confusion. "Okay... That's, uh... Not creepy at all..." she tried carefully, feeling herself tense slightly despite her words. "A part of me is tempted to be like every idiot girl in horror films who call out 'hello' and the other half is telling me we should call an electrician or something." She looked to her sister, unsure.
Sam nodded and reached for his phone as he climbed into the car, calling up Bobby. "Yeah, I remember all of that," he said, "Feels like forever ago at this point, though."
"Sam, I was just about to call you," Bobby mentioned when he answered, staring down at a book with a frown.
Sam blinked with the mention of it. "Great, does that mean you've got something?" he asked.
"I wouldn't have almost called if I didn't have something, idgit," Bobby said easily in response, "There was a sacrifice, Ver Sacrum. Sacrifices made to a God in the Spring 21 years after a deal for healthy, plentiful crops is made, where those born in the Spring after the deal get sacrificed. It fits what you idgits have told me about the case, but Ver Sacrum was only assumed to be actual sacrifices, there wasn't ever any proof."
"Okay, but if it's a God, then there's a way to stop it, to kill it, right?" Sam asked, "So even if the sacrifices weren't proven, there's a way to kill it?"
"Yeah," Bobby assured, "With a stainless steel knife that's been dipped in the soil of the crops."
Sam nodded with the mention of it. "Thanks, Bobby," he said before hanging up and looking to Dean, filling his brother in quickly.
