Matt crossed his arms as he waited for Brian at the edge of the woods. He looked at his friend as he showed up. "Ready?" He asked. He was surprised Brian was getting along with Abby. Matt turned into his wolf then took off into the woods. He could smell human scent the farther they went out.

Abby got dressed in a pair of ripped skinny Jean's and a black tank top before she walked with Brian to Matt's house. She nodded when he said to stay put. She walked in and smiled at Natalie. "Hey." She said. "Umm...Things are better. Yesterday was rough but last night we talked and it wasnt so bad." She explained. "He snuggled me last nighr." She said, laughing. "What about you?" She asked.

Natalie raised an eyebrow, "And you didn't break his hands for touching you?" She laughed and opened the fridge, pulling out a bottle of bourbon and making a mixed drink. "Well, I actually got to sleep in the bed last night so I'm making progress, I guess. He's a dick." She laughed.

Brian ran behind Matt, keeping his eyes and ears focused on all that was going on around them. The longer they ran the stronger the scent of humans grew and before they knew it, they had stumbled upon a small camp and Brian just knew it was hunters. Weapons were laid out everywhere along with all silver bullets and knives. Brian started to feel nervous, giving Matt a glance that told him they should head back. They found what they were looking for, they didn't need to pick a fight by themselves.

Matt looked at Brian and headed back to the village. He turned back to his human form and pulled on a pair of Jean's. He looked at one of the guys that helped out, "Noboby leaves this village without me knowing. spread the word." He growled. He walked with Brian to his house and walked in, finding the girls. He looked at Natalie, "You don't leave this house." He said, "Not even to go outside." He said

Abby nodded, "I think then both are." She said. She was surprised when the guys came storming in. She looked at Brian, seeing he looked worried. "What did you find?" She asked him, knowing it probably wasn't good if Matt was being so mean. Abby watched him, waiting for him to explain. She was already freaked out from last night and he swore nothing was going to happen.

Natalie frowned, setting down her drink, "Not even to go on your back porch? You're crazy if you think-" Her eyes grew a little wider when she saw the look Matt pulled on his face but she tried to stand her ground, "I mean, how can you ask that? Is it the hunters?"

Brian looked between Natalie and Matt and just grabbed Abby's arm roughly to pull her out of the house before the inevitable fight between those two broke out. "Hunter camps. Multiple ones all around the woods." He told her as he took her back to the house. They had already told the village no one goes in the woods for any circumstances. And no transforming for any reason.

Matt glared at her, "You will stay in this God damn house!" He yelled at her. "There at least three hunter camps out there. If you want to be a problem I can lock you up. My pack is important to me and I dont need you getting them killed because you wanna go for a fucking walk!" He snapped

Abby gasped as he grabbed his arm and walked with him. "You're hurting me." She said, seeing him look at her. She could tell he was upset but she didn't want h in m hurting her. She sighed as she walked into the house with him. "What are you going to do?" She asked. She was sure they would probably just lay low for awhile.

Natalie bawled up her fists, "I didn't say anything about a fucking walk!" She yelled at him. "Did you tell everyone else they have to stay locked up in their house? No? What the fuck do you think I'm going to do? Run outside, transform, prance around the woods, howl at the moon and lead them right to you?" She screamed.

Brian led her inside and shut and locked the door. "We're just going to be extra careful until they leave and if they decide to move closer, we'll have to do something." He said. "You don't leave this house, don't go outside, don't even look out a window." He instructed her, pulling his jacket off.

Matt glared at her, "I told them to stay put and not turn yes!" He snapped at her. He growled as he backed her up against the wall, "I don't know what you will do." He snapped at her. "If you think you can just mouth off at me you are in for a rude awakening!" He yelled, his voice booming through his house. "Now do what I fucking say and learn some respect." He said smacking the wall by her head, leaving a hole in the wall. He stepped back, glaring at her.

Abby watched him, "Not looking out the window seems extreme, but whatever." She said. She wasnt about to start up and argument because she had to remind herself that he did this stuff out of fear of the past repeating itself.

Natalie's heart was thumping in her throat and she couldn't help the burning tears that were building up in her eyes. "Whatever!" She barked at him and pushed past him, going up the stairs quickly. She just wanted to be away from him.

The last thing Brian needed was for Abby to get in the way of a hunter. They hadn't told their pack they couldn't go outside because that wasn't realistic, and they were much stronger than their two new additions. "Just do what I say, okay?" He muttered as he kicked his boots off.

Matt sighed as she ran upstairs. He waited a few minutes before he walked up after her. He knew he had made her really upset. He walked into the bedroom and watched her. "I'm sorry." He sajd. "You just have to understand that what I am doing is what is safe." He explained to her.

Abby looked at him, "Fine." She said as she sat on the couch and crossed her arms. She thought it was dumb that she wasn't aloud to look out the window, but she knew he was just trying to keep things from going wrong.

Natalie was laying down in the bed, under the covers, trying to relax. Her heart was still racing where he had punched the wall next to her head, she didn't want to admit that it had scared her but it did. When she heard him come in the room she pulled the cover tighter around her body and curled up more. But when he actually apologized, she pulled the cover down from her face. "I just don't understand why I have to stay inside if no one else does." She knew she sounded like a little kid but it didn't make sense.

Brian wasn't thinking about himself being paranoid, in his head he just kept reminding himself he had failed to protect his mate before and if he repeated his mistakes and Abby got hurt, he didn't know what he would do. He was relieved she wasn't going to start a fight with him and honestly he was quite surprised. That was kind of Abby's thing. "Thank you." He sighed and rubbed his face. "I'm going to go take a shower."

Matt shook his head, "You are weaker and can't protect yourself." He said. "I can't be running around here trying to save you. It's easier if you just stay here." He said. He knew that she was going to be complicated. Her last pack didn't have any order and that was why they always died. He knew that she would get use to the way he ran things soon.

Abby looked around his living room for a moment once he left then laid on the couch and stared at the ceiling. She was getting kind of hungry so she went to the kitchen to find some food. She smiled when she found steaks in the fridge. Abby decided to make those with some mashed potatoes. She bit her bottom lip lightly as she looked through the seasons that he had.

Natalie just looked away from him, annoyed and aggravated. She hated constantly being told she was weak and small and couldn't handle herself. "Whatever, you don't have to worry about me." She knew he didn't want to anyways. "I'll stay inside." She pulled the cover back up under her chin and sighed.

Brian came out of the shower, just wearing a pair of boxers and his skin still glistening with a few heads of water he hadn't dried off. He ran his hand through his damp hair, pushing it back as he came into the kitchen. Something smelled delicious. "What're you cooking this time, Martha Stewart?" He teased her with a smile.

Matt walked over and sat on the bed beside of her. He pulled the blanket down some so she would look at him. "Look I know I'm an asshole." He said. "I know that this whole being mates thing is really not ide, but you are my mate and I will take care of you." He said.

Abby rolled her eyes playfully, "Steak and potatoes, but you may not get any with that attitude." She said. She finished making food then made their plates and sat at the table with him. She began to eat, feeling happy with what she made.

Natalie really wasn't expecting that. She chewed on her lip and let the blanket slip out of her fingers. She looked up into his eyes and just relaxed. "Okay." She told him. She really didn't expect him to care enough to actually get on her level like that, but he was anyways. She sat up and pushed the cover off of her completely. "I'll stay inside. I promise. But I mean all you have in the kitchen is boxed mac and cheese so you're gonna have to bring something home." She laughed trying to lighten the mood.

Brian took his plate and inhaled the delicious scent before cutting off a piece of the steak and shoving it in his mouth. "This is delicious." He told her. "Where did you learn to cook like this?" Even though might've hated each other and even though he knew if she had the chance to ditch him, she would, it was nice that she was cooking for them.

Matt nodded, "Alright I will get you some food." He said, laughing a little. He got up, "Anything specific you want?" He asked as he crossed his arms. Matt normally didn't cook so he knew she would have ideas on what she wanted.

Abby looked at him, "A little from my mom, but I also learned some stuff on my own." She said as she began to eat. She didn't like to talk about her mom too much. Abby took a sip of her drink, seeing him eating quickly. "Do you want more?" She asked when she seen he was finished.

Natalie shrugged. "Maybe some...chicken? If you want you can just bring something to cook back and I can fix it." Natalie figured that if she was going to be cooped up in this house the whole time she might as well be doing something, like cooking, or keeping it clean.

Brian nodded and handed her his plate, "Yes please." He was starving and he could always put away food. He noticed when Abby mentioned his mom that she was quick to try and take attention away from it, but he figured he wouldn't push it.

Matt nodded, "Alright, I will go get the stuff." He said. He grabbed his coat, "I will be back." He said as he walked out. He got some groceries then returned to his house, setting the stuff down in the kitchen.

Abby nodded and got up. She made him another plate then handed it to him. She sat down and took a sip of her drink as he began to eat again. She was amazed at how much he could eat.

Natalie could hear Matt come home, he wasn't very quiet when it came to shutting the door. She got up out of his bed from just skimming through television channels and came down the stairs into the kitchen. "Awesome." She said as she looked through all the things he had brought back. She opened the fridge and started putting things away, wondering how long it had been since there had even been proper groceries in his house. "Have you always been by yourself?"

Brian started cutting into the new piece of steak on his plate and eating it pretty quickly. He looked up at her as he took a sip of his own drink and noticed how she was looking at him. "What?" He asked, with a mouthful of food, "How else do you think I've managed to get so strong?" He laughed. jokingly as he took another bite.

Matt stared at her when she asked if he had always been alone. He shook his head, "Uh no. I use to live with my dad hear until he died two years ago." He said. He didn't like to bring it up most of the time.

Abby rolled her eyes playfully, "Oh yes I am sure it has nothing to do with your genes." She said. She thought for a moment, "Does that worry you? That if we have kids they might not be as strong as the others?" She asked. She knew it was possibly, but she hoped it didn't happen.

Natalie shut the fridge door and looked over at Matt, "Oh, I'm sorry." She rubbed her arm and felt a little awkward for bringing it up, "I was just noticing, your house seems so empty, like no one really lives here, so I was just curious..." She grabbed the chicken out and placed a pan on the stove.

Brian was surprised to hear her bring up kids as if she wasn't completely against the idea of it. "A little." He answered, "But usually the stronger gene overpowers the weaker one, so I think we'll be okay." He couldn't help the blush that rose to his face.
