Ryker chuckled, "Yea she is. Are you going to?" He asked her. Her certainly didnt mind. He liked having another adult around because it gave him someone to have conversations with that didnt involve stuffed animals or princesses. Ryker leaned against the counter, "I just put dinner in the oven so it will be a little bit. Would you like something to drink?" He asked her. Ryker was glad he had chosen Kaylin because she was very relaxed. "I have plenty to choose from." He said as he opened the fridge for her.

Kaylin smiled when she heard Ryker chuckle, “Yeah, I told her I would stay. As long as it’s alright with you?” She didn’t want to overstep any boundaries. “Water would be fine,” Kaylin said as she grabbed a bottled water from his fridge. “Thank you,” She said before sitting at one of the chairs by the counter. Kaylin wasn’t overwhelmed by the size of his house or the amount of money she would be making. Her mother, even though they were well off, always made sure she was down to earth. Truthfully, Kaylin wouldn’t have to work, but she truly loved her job.

Ryker nodded, "Of course it is fine with me." He said. He leaned against the counter and watched her for a moment. He wondered why she was working when her family had so much money. The only reason he really worked was because he was suppose to take over his father company in the future. "So, I have to ask. If you inherit all that money from you family why are your time taking care of children?" He asked. he knew that she must really like taking care of them if she was willing to work like she was. Then again he was sure that it would get boring not having a job.

Kaylin smiled, she took a moment to think, “I love it. I could just take my inheritance, but I wouldn’t feel right and the way things are going with my step-father, there might not be much left by the time I get it.” She didn’t want to sound spoiled, “I really do love my job.”

Ryker smiled, "Yea I can tell that you do. It good that you are doing something you like." He told her. He liked what he did, but he knew that there was a possibility that he could've done something else. Ryker heard Mina upstairs playing and running around. It was a sound that was very common in his house. It was the one thing that he loved about working for his company. He knew that he would be able to give Mina the life she deserved. "You know I went through like twenty people before I picked you." He told her.

Kaylin smiled, “I really do, it’s nice to have a job I love.” She listened as she heard Mina running around upstairs. It was a plus side of her job, it was centered around children and it made her life a little brighter. Hearing him say he went through twenty people, she raised an eyebrow, “Really? What made you pick me? If you don’t mind me asking.”

Ryker smiled as he sat in the chair next to her, "Well, half of the women were more interested in me than Mina." He told her. "The other half just didn't fit with her. I need someone that is going to connect with her on a certain level. I cant have someone who is just thinks of this as a job. Mina is missing that connection with a woman. Not that I need you to be a motherly type, but I think being around another female will be good for her. You can do stuff with her that I cant." He said, laughing a little.

“I understand, there are a lot of women in this profession that are doing it for the wrong reasons,” Kaylin told him. She opened her water bottle and took a sip, “I’m flattered you think I’m the right one for the job.” Listening as he talked about what Mina needed, she felt bad for the little girl. “I hope I can meet your standards, and I’ll be doing my best to do just that,” Kaylin told him.

"I am sure you will do just fine." He said to her. He knew that she was the perfect fit. "I know Mina already loves having you here." He said. He looked over as Mina came into the kitchen.

Mina looked at them, "Daddy, I'm hungry." She said, pouting. "Is the food ready yet?" She asked as she climbed into the chair next to his.

Ryker smiled, "No not yet." He said, laughing softly. Ryker looked at her, "Do you want something to drink while you wait?" He asked her. He watched as she nodded then got up and got her a drink.

Hearing that Mina already loved having her there, Kaylin smiled, “I’m glad, she’s already made a great impression with me.”

Kaylin watched as Mina came into the kitchen and climbed into the chair next to Ryker. She took the chance just to watch the two interact, it was clear that Ryker loved Mina more than anything.

Mina had already managed to get a spot in Kaylin’s heart after the short time they’ve known each other. Seeing Mina get her drink from Ryker and smile, Kaylin drank her water, “So Mina, is there anything you want me to know before I start watching you?” She asked, curious to see what the little girl would say.

Mina stared at her drink as she thought about what Kaylin asked. She looked at her, "I like chocolate chip cookies and if you make them I will eat them." She said, smiling.

Ryker chuckled at Mina's response, "You are such a simple child." He teased his daughter. When dinner was ready he pulled everything out of the oven. He made Kaylin a plate and handed it to her before he made Mina hers. He made his own then walked to the dinner table and sat with them. He watched as Mina began to eat her food before he started on his.

Kaylin laughed softly at Mina’s answer, “I’ll have to remember that, I’ve been told I make some pretty great chocolate chip cookies.” She smiled at the little girl before Ryker placed their plates in front of them.

“Thank you,” Kaylin said before taking a bite of the food. “This is delicious,” she said as she took another drink of her water before continuing to eat.

Mina began to eat her food, "Daddy makes the best food." She said before she kept eating.

Ryker smiled, "Thanks. I am pretty good at making certain things. Though the cooking only goes so far." He said, laughing softly.

“Well I’m sure Mina is right and you’re a great cook, after all four year olds tend to be brutally honest,” Kaylin laughed softly as she kept eating her food.

Ryker smiled, "Yea that is very true." He said. He finished up his food, watching as Mina finished. He watched as she took off to the living room to watch some tv. "You have to get ready for bed soon." He called to her. He heard her huff from the other room. "And the battle begins." He told Kaylin as he got up and grabbed the empty plates.

Kaylin finished her food and took care of her plate and her now empty water bottle. She watched as Mina walked to the living room, laughing softly, “The attitude of a four year old can be surprising.”

Ryker looked at Kaylin, "You are telling me. She has more attitude than most adults I know." He said. he couldnt help but look her over. Kaylin was a very attractive women and he needed to remind himself that their relationship was strictly business.

Kaylin laughed at his comment, “I can see that, she seems like a strong willed little girl.” She ran a hand through her hair, “So, do you have a day you want me to start?” She asked as she looked at him.

Ryker nodded, "Yea do you mind starting tomorrow? I know it is the weekend but I have to run to work in the morning for like three hours to finish up some paper work." He explained. "I wont keep you here too long. I mean unless you like me so much you want to hang around." He teased her.
