The Lo-Fi Contest
Hello Mibbians and welcome to the Lo-Fi Contest! If you don’t know what Lo-Fi is or never heard of it, it’s a genre of music that is very relaxing and great for studying. There’s a variety of it from hip-hop (or chillhop) to remixes of anime intros. I made this contest because the genre (depending on the song) always make me feel a certain way and that is what my contest is going to be based on. Below, you will find a collage of song covers with a number from 1 to 20. Each photo belongs to a song, you pick a photo and below are the links to the song. So for example, if you pick photo 7, you hit the link to “7” and that will be your assigned song. Although if you want a variety of songs, then you may pick from the mixtape list from 1 to 10.
If you wish to write a drabble or one shot, you must pick from the list of 1-20 for an individual song. However, if you choose to write a short chaptered story, then you must pick from the list of 1-10 Those are mixtapes/beat tapes so they include more than one song. But you want to write a one-shot or drabble but want to pick from the mixtape list, you can also do that. :)
What I am looking for is what the song/mix makes you feel. What does it inspire you to write? Do you feel sad, in love, or euphoric? What do they make you envision?
Rules
• All work must follow the Mibba Story Guidelines.
• All genres and ratings are allowed.
• Original fiction, fan fiction, true stories are all accepted.
• Will accept drabbles, one/two shots, poems, or short chaptered fics.
➞ Short chaptered fics have to have more than one chapter and nothing over five. The story itself does not have to be completed by the deadline, but there needs to be at least a chapter for me to judge.
• Word count: minimum of 100 (for stories/drabbles, poems are free game), no maximum.
• The maximum entries are two. They can be two individual songs, two mixtapes, or one individual song and one mixtape. It’s your choice as long as you make it clear to me. :) But please note that only one of your entries will have the possibility of winning.
• Pre-writes are not allowed for either category, it must be something new!
• No racism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, pedophilia, mpreg, rape, and incest. The character can face discrimination but the overall message should be that discrimination is not okay.
• Must include a link to the contest in your summary, I will leave a code below for you to copy and paste. :)
• Please let me know if you decide to leave the contest, change usernames, want to do another entry, or change the number.
