Freya woke with a start when he shook her, gasping into his hand as her eyes flew open, staring up at him with wide eyes. She relaxed when she saw that it was him, sitting up carefully. "Rowan.. Its only you.." She said in relief, having been worried for a moment it was someone else.

Rowan nodded softly, "Yeah it's just me," he said softly. He retreated back into the shadows a bit more, "you looked good today, but it wasn't smart to be out in public like that," he said softly.

He leaned against the wall. He didn't know how to tell her what he had found out.

Freya frowned a bit, blushing faintly as she stood to move to her closet, pulling out her nightgown before stepping behind the wooden division to change. "My father insisted I go.. I wanted to stay here.." She explained as she chsnged, stepping out once she was finished to brush out her hair. "Did you find out anything..?"

Rowan watched her move about her room. His eyes staring at her when she emerged in her nightgown. "It's fine, I managed to follow someone from the event," he said lightly. He stepped out of the shadows, "yeah I learned some stuff," he admitted.

He looked at her, "It seems the king of the neighbouring land, wants to destabilise the city," he said lightly. He looked down, that king was supposed to be an ally.

Freya took a seat at the edge of her bed as she listened to him, frowning deeply at the news. "But.. But he's supposed to be allied with my father.. They're old friends.. Why would he do this?" She asked, looking up at him with a frown.

Rowan paused for a moment, "I don't know, I haven't figured it out yet," he said truthfully. He moved closer, "unfortunately, it's not much use trying to tell the king about this, he wouldn't believe me," he said.

Freya nodded with a frown, huffing in frustration as she flopped back down on her bed, staring up at the ceiling in frustration. "We'll need proof before we go to my father... I don't have any idea how to get that, though.." She murmured with a sigh.

Rowan nodded and sat on the bed beside her, 'I'll figure it out, for now be wary of blonde woman," he said softly. He patted her leg softly, "an acquaintance Alesha is in town to kill you," he said softly. He looked at her, "I tried to warn her off, but I couldn't tell her I was protecting you," he said.

Freya looked at him as he sat down, blushing faintly when she felt his hand on her leg. "Half of the servants in the palace are blonde.. I can't avoid everyone." She sighed, frowning a bit. "Thank you for helping me, Rowan.. I appreciate it more than you know."

Rowan smiled gently, 'well, just be careful around them," he said softly. He moved to stand up, "Don't mention it, I'm happy to help you," he said softly. He made his way to the secret exit, 'Rest easy Princess, I'll watch this entrance for the night," he said lightly.

Freya nodded as she sat up, standing to move over to a bowl of fruits that had been left in her room, grabbing an apple or two before moving over to him. "Here, take these. They'll just go to waste if I don't eat them, and I feel bad having you standing outside all night.." She murmured, holding the red fruits out to him with a small smile.

Rowan smiled softly, taking the apples from her. "Thank you," he said. He slipped them into his pockets, "now go to sleep," he said lightly. He slipped further down the passage, and out of sight.

He was surprised by how kind she was, it seemed so polar opposite to her father.

Freya smiled, watching him go before covering the entrance to the passage with a tapestry like she always did, shutting the door securely before she blew out the candles lighting her room and fell into bed.

She slept soundly for the first night in weeks, knowing that Rowan was guarding her and keeping her safe.

Rowan stayed in the passage all night. He was curled up against the wall, under his cloak. As the night ended, and the sun rose, he drifted into a slumber.

There had been no threats during the night, and Rowan needed to sleep.

Once the sun peaked through her curtains she woke with a small groan, blinking tiredly as she stretched. When she realized what time it was she stood, deciding to check and see if Rowan was still around. She hurried through the tunnel, smiling a little to herself when she saw him asleep, although she worried he'd get sick sleeping in such a cold damp place.

She knelt by his side, carefully shaking him awake. "Rowan.. Rowan.. Come on, let's get you inside." She murmured, trying to pull him up.

Rowan opened his eyes,and looked up at her. "Oh it's you," he said softly. He moved his arm back away from her, he'd had his blade against her belly. "What time is it?" he asked softly.

"It's just past dawn, but I know you've been awake all night, and it won't be safe to leave the castle during this them of day, so I'll let you rest in my room until there are less guards around." She explained softly, gently moving her hand to rest over his. "And don't try to say no. I insist. " she smiled, trying to get him.up again.

Rowan moved to his feet looking at her. "Oh, I'm sorry, I should of slipped out before dawn," he mumbled. He let her lead him back inside, "You sure it's safe to stay in your room?" he asked.

Freya nodded, covering the entrance back up before moving to her bed, offering to help him remove his cloaks and boots and other things, wanting him to have a good rest. "My parents are traveling today, so most of the guard is with them, and I've asked to not be disturbed unless I ask for something or it's an emergency. You'll be safe, I promise." She smiled.

"Although it's still very early, and I'd like to sleep in a little longer too, so we might have to share."

Rowan looked at her, and around the room. "The seat will do me, thank you," he said softly. He unclipped his cloak, letting it fall to the floor. He then started undoing the sheaths of his weapons.

He didn't want to intrude on her space, it didn't seem right. As well as the fact that if her father heard about it, he'd be dead, even if he wasn't who he was.
