Vale jumped slightly, startled from her thoughts when the file was thrown onto the table, and she stared at the man for a long moment, frowning. "You mean the discovery of our friend's body," she corrected quietly, swallowing hard, because whatever had happened to Lucas, he certainly hadn't deserved it. He was a good guy. She paused, though, hearing him say he believed her, and she stared at him for a while, unsure of whether he really did or whether he was trying to trick her into a false sense of security. Still, she cleared her throat and nodded slightly. "Whatever it takes to make this nightmare just end already. I doubt you'll ask anything that hasn't already been asked, though. No, we didn't do it. No, we can't think of anybody who would have done it. No, he didn't have any enemies that we knew of."
Sam had knocked on the door before he entered the room and he watched Allie for a moment, trying to gauge her. Nervous, stressed, and upset, she definitely didn't look like somebody who'd killed her friend. He took her in as he sat down and opened the file, admittedly a little thrown off by how gorgeous she was, but he cleared his throat and nodded. "Of course you didn't," he assured her as he looked at the file before he looked at her, "To be honest, you wouldn't have had time to hide the murder weapon before you and your friend found him - unless you two conspired together, but, even then, you wouldn't have had time to hide it before the authorities arrived, and they've searched that library high and low, in every nook and cranny, and haven't found a murder weapon yet. Chances are, they probably won't find it. Either way, I believe you when you say you didn't do this, so we won't have any problems there. Still, I'd like to ask you some questions, if you don't mind and... Well, they may seem odd, but they're very important. Is that alright with you?"
