Growling and hissing was heard. The growling grew louder and closer, soon turned into shrieking. Chaos. Absolute chaos was the scene that had fallen over Seattle. "No! Stop! Please!" A woman was heard screaming. A deformed male was seen biting into a young woman's neck. Erika quickly closed the door before pulling Byron close to her. "It's okay. " She said, she didn't believe her own lie so there was no way that Byron would believe it either. Rising to her feet, Erika went to the hallway where her father's gun was kept in the closet. The sibling duo had been on their own for quite some time. A week before her 18th birthday, a drunk driver took the life of their parents. Given her status as a legal adult, Erika was able to take on guardianship over her brother. A loud crash was then heard followed by a yell and screeching. Loading the gun, Erika returned to her baby brother only to find him being attacked. Without a second thought, Erika cocked the rifle and fired a single shot. The hissing sound grew louder before Erika slowly opened her eyes, slamming them shut instantly as the harsh rays of sunlight blinded her momentarily. Gaining a clear focus, Erika shot up and quickly began swatting her chest at the realization of a rattlesnake laying upon her torso. Rising to her feet, Erika took a look at her surroundings. Aside from the snake, there wasn't any direct danger. Erika then took a brief moment to go over the supplies in her backpack before taking out her notebook. It had been 3 years since this all began, since her brother was attacked and turned, and in that amount of time, she's studied the vampires, via her brother.
Prior to leaving she spent months filling gallon bottles with blood, as she knew the adventure ahead would be a long one, and she didn't want to come back to find her brother dead. She timed how long it takes him to finish a gallon, and how long he could go without blood. Sometimes she felt as if she were torturing him by forcing him to live his life like this, but part of her also knew that if there was a chance for him to make it out of this, unkind things had to be done. Syncing her watch, Erika then zipped up her backpack before continuing on her mission.
A howl was heard as it ranged throughout the woods, dancing amongst the tree leaves, causing Griffin to narrow his eyes. The male furrowed his eyebrows as his eyes scanned the tree lines. It seemed that no matter how far ahead they seemed, the ferals were always on their tail. "And here I thought the daytime was safer." He muttered out before taking the hunting knife out of his waistband and holding it at his side. He saw Marcus take cover behind one tree, his feet moving backwards towards the cover of some bushes. His plan was to use one of his partners as bait, and then to ambush the feral, tackling them at the legs, slicing a tendon here and there, before delivering the last blow.
However, those plans were interrupted as he saw a feral was about to attack Axel from behind. Leaping into action, Griffin tackled the beast and the pair rolled around for a bit before Griffin plunged his knife directly into the feral's cranium. "You're welcome. " He said with a slight nod before using the back of his hand to wipe off the blood that splattered across his face. Rising to his feet, Griffin looked at Marcus upon hearing his question. "Just peachy. " He didn't understand why this had been going on for so long if there was a supposed cure. He at least expected to see some results by now. Turning back to Axel, Griffin released a deep breathe, "where to now?" He then pondered aloud.
