i can't deny

Arianna opened the door to room 114, looking over to her workmate, Cecilia, as she placed the clean, folded sheets on top of the polished dresser. "Alright, these rooms have been booked by really important guests, apparently. A band." She tied her blonde hair into a loose ponytail, knowing that their boss expected the three rooms that were booked to be cleaned to perfection, from top to bottom. "Arriving this afternoon, staying for three days. Never heard of them, though." She opened the curtains, frowning as she saw a sock on the floor, left from the previous tenant. Stripping the beds, Arianna glanced over at Cecilia with raised eyebrows. "Familiar with 5 Seconds of Summer?"

Luke Hemmings was glad when the driver of their tour bus told them they weren't far from the hotel they were due to stay at for their time in Florida. Luke got homesick, of course he did, but it got worst whenever he was cooped up in a bunk for too long, the claustrophobia adding to the anxiety. Watching as the scenery passed by out of the window, Luke considered himself lucky that he could travel the world and perform to thousands of people nearly every night as a job - how many people his age could say they did that? The hotel was out of the way, quiet, out of the prying eyes and ears of the press. 5 Seconds of Summer had become more mainstream since the last time they were in Florida, and Luke just didn't want to see flashing cameras and microphones now. "Not long." He spoke to no one in particular.

"A band?" Cecilia asked with mild surprise as she worked on taking the pillow cases off the pillows to replace them with new ones, tossing the old ones into a small pile. She made a face with the thought, worried about the potential trouble 'important' guests brought - press, drugs, drama... As great as it was for the hotel, to get more attention and bring in more guests, it usually left the rooms being a disaster and there'd been a few times where they'd had to remodel the rooms completely. "Wait, 5 Seconds of what? Summer?" Arching a brow, she shook her head as she moved to set the dirty bed accessories aside and grabbed the new ones to get started on setting it up. "I don't think so. But, I don't really listen to any of the newer mainstream music, so it doesn't say much."

Michael found his fingers tapping at his knee as the drive continued on. He was getting antsy, being inside the bus for so long. There hadn't been many stops since everything they really needed was inside the bus - food, a bathroom, places to sleep. But, he wanted to get out and stretch his legs and relax, so he was relieved to know that, tonight, they'd be sleeping in a hotel - and, he planned to take full advantage of that and enjoy his time in the hotel as much as possible before he'd have to climb back onto the bus for the rest of the journey. Hearing Luke speak, he looked over at his friend, arching a brow in amusement. "Talking to yourself?" he asked a little teasingly but stretched his legs in his seat. "I can't wait to be able to walk around in a less confined space."

Arianna nodded, helping Cecilia with the sheet of the bed nearest to the window. "I'm still mad about that guy that basically turned his room upside down," she frowned. She didn't mean to sound so disheartened at the thought, but she knew that when the guests arrived, she'd have to be ridiculously cheerful. "5 Seconds of Summer." She confirmed. "I've never heard of them, but apparently they've got a good following, which means that we're gonna have screaming girls outside." She rolled her eyes, straightening out the comforter of the bed, putting the complimentary mint on the pillow neatly. "Maybe they're like... guys with ridiculous 80s hair."

Luke threw the nearest object - a guitar pick - at Michael's head as his bandmate teased him. "I'm just excited to stretch my legs." He mumbled as the bus turned a corner. Their tour manager had told them the hotel was out of the way, with a back entrance for the boys to sneak into, past the crowds that were expected at the entrance. "All I want to do is eat and collapse into bed." He ran a hand through his hair as the bus came to a gentle stop. "We need to wake up Calum and Ashton." He exhaled, leaning his head back before standing up. "I need clean air."

"It didn't help that that guy was a complete ass," Cecilia complained with a pout as they fixed the bed before she moved to the next one to get started on it. "You remember that one that offered to pay us 'an extra nice tip' if we helped him with his little problem? And he thought it'd be such a benefit for us for hooking up with somebody famous!" She shuddered with the thought, scowling. "I'm not ready to listen to girls screaming." She pouted slightly with the thought, sure that it would get crazy. She liked the peace the hotel normally had, so she wasn't looking forward to the noise. She laughed, though. "80s hair bands were the best bands." Grinning, she moved to start vacuuming the room after they'd finished the beds.

"I know what you mean," Michael admitted, laughing as he ducked his head in a poor attempt to avoid getting hit with the guitar pick, though it didn't work out too well. Leaning back into his seat, he looked at the hotel when they came to a stop, before he nodded and stood up, stretching out a bit. "Alright, let's wake them up. Hopefully, they don't throw a fit." He laughed a bit with the thought, sure that they could all use the rest at this point, but proceeded to head to the back of the bus to wake up the other guys.

Arianna cringed at the memory. "Please don't remind me, I'd repressed that for so long." She joked, helping Cecilia with the other bed, dusting around as Cecilia vacuumed. "You only say that because of your unhealthy obsession with Bon Jovi - I'm judging you." She chuckled, speaking louder to make sure she would be heard over the vacuum. Looking outside to see a large tour bus, Arianna groaned. "They're hereee." She announced in a sing song voice, going to start on the next room.

Luke woke Ashton up, disappearing quickly, knowing that Ashton was the worst at waking up. Stepping off the tourbus, Luke relished the feeling of the fresh air through his hair and against his skin, waiting for someone, anyone, to join him outside. "This feels so good." He groaned as Michael stood beside him, exiting the bus. "C'mon. I can sleep for like, a week."

"He was an ass!" Cecilia repeated with a scoff, though she laughed at Arianna's mention of Bon Jovi. "It's not my fault every Bon Jovi song is a masterpiece! If somebody wants to lay me down on a bed of roses, you can bet I'll jump at the offer!" She laughed again, shaking her head with amusement. She peered out the window, though, making a slight face, but made sure to be diligent in her work, finishing up this room before she followed Arianna to the next.

Michael couldn't help but to laugh when he saw how quickly Luke escaped, though the noise and Michael shaking Calum forced Calum awake. Without explaining anything, Michael made his way outside, so relieved for the fresh air and to be able to stretch his legs. "It feels like it's been too long since I'm walked," he joked lightly but nodded to his friend's words. "Right. Let's go get checked in and take the chance to just crash, and fast, before Ashton and Calum decide to get payback."

"Man, I wish someone would lay me down on a bed of roses." Arianna laughed, shaking her head as she freshened up the room after changing the sheets. "I'm curious to see what these guys look like. I'm taking bets that they're some sort of tribute band."

Luke laughed with Michael. "I'm scared of Ashton when he wakes up, he's scary." He joked, leading Michael to the lobby of the hotel through the back entrance, whistling in appreciation to the beautifully decorated building. "Swanky." He commented, going to fetch their keys.

Cecilia smiled with amusement as she worked on dusting and vacuuming, since Arianna had done the sheets. "Talking about Bon Jovi makes me want to jam to some music," she joked with a laugh, though she shrugged slightly. "I guess we'll find out when we run housekeeping in the morning?"

"Oh, yeah, he'd probably slaughter you in a millisecond," Michael joked with amusement, shaking his head as he followed his friend inside. He looked around at the hotel, taking in the sight of it, admiring it for a while. "Looks like we really lucked out this time. It helps that we can sneak in and out easily, too."

Arianna laughed at Cecilia, shaking her head. "I dunno, part of me wants to take my time with this next room, I wanna get a look... is that bad of me?" She bit her lip with interest. It wasn't like she was a die hard fan of the group, but still, she had always been one to cure her curiosity.

Luke nodded, holding up a hotel room key, leaving Calum and Ashton to fetch their own. "Definitely." He nodded. "As much as I love our fans, it's nice not to go out to constant screaming." Pressing the button for the elevator, Luke stifled a yawn, excited to re energise for the next day's show.

Cecilia laughed with the mention of it and shrugged. "I say go for it, then," she said easily, figuring it was harmless, "Maybe we'll understand what all the hype is about that way. Besides, they're already here and we're not supposed to rush when the guests arrive, so it's not like it'd be doing anything wrong."

Michael nodded as he took the key. "That's true," he admitted, "Especially when we're all so tired. It's usually easy to deal with and even fun, but not when we're exhausted." He grinned jokingly but stepped into the elevator when it arrived, pressing the button for the appropriate floor before he leaned against the elevator wall, waiting to arrive.

Arianna grinned. "Exactly! Just because they're famous, doesn't mean they should get treated differently to regular guests." She concluded, clearly proud of herself for her snooping. Changing the beds in the third room, Arianna dusted as Cecilia vacuumed, wanting to make sure they were thorough in case anyone complained.

Luke chuckled. "Yeah, it's fun when you start screaming along with them." He shook his head in amusement at his band mate and one of his closest friends. When the elevator dinged, Luke led the way out, pausing as he saw his and Michael's shared room was still being worked on. "Ah, we should wait here."

"They can wait like everybody else," Cecilia joked as she vacuumed, shooting her friend an amused look, "Who knows, it might be good for them?" Shaking her head, she made sure to vacuum carefully, wanting to ensure every bit of the room was as neat and tidy and clean as possible.

"Now, that is definitely fun," Michael joked with a laugh, grinning at the thought, because it really was. It boosted his energy a lot of the time and gave him a sense of pride, too. It was just all-around fun. Peering to the room when they got to the floor, he pouted slightly. "Do we have to wait here? We can at least get a peak inside, see how much longer it might take, maybe?" He didn't wait for Luke to reply, though, heading to the room first quickly.

Arianna laughed, heading to the doorway to dispose of the used sheets, bumping into someone. "Oh!" She gasped in surprise, dropping the linen and pausing at the sight of a tall boy in front of her. Swallowing the lump in her throat, Arianna offered Michael a small smile. "I'm so sorry, sir." She spoke politely, following protocol.

Luke followed Michael quickly, knowing that Michael would probably annoy the poor cleaners until the room was done and he'd successfully scared them off. Peering into the room, Luke smiled as he waved to the woman nearest the window, finishing up her vacuuming. "Hi." He greeted, hoping that they didn't know who they were.

Michael blinked down at the woman in surprise, quickly reaching his hands out to rest them on her shoulder to make sure she wouldn't fall when she'd bumped into him. He took her in, mildly surprised that somebody so beautiful worked here, but he smiled, shaking his head. "No, it's alright," he assured her, "It's my fault. I wanted to get a peek at the room, I should have been more patient and careful." Not that he actually would have been, he knew himself better than that. He didn't want her to think it was her fault, though, because it wasn't.

Cecilia turned off the vacuum as she was finishing, wrapping the wire up when she heard somebody who wasn't Arianna's voice and peered over, seeing a guy standing there, waving. Offering a small smile, she nodded slightly. "Hi," she greeted, "If you're booked for this room, we're almost done, then we'll be out of your hair." She figured these must be the band members, or at least part of them, but she didn't find a point in acknowledging that. Shifting, she retrieved the complimentary mints since Arianna seemed occupied and placed them on the pillows before she wheeled the vacuum out. "And, done. We apologize that the room wasn't ready upon arrival."

Arianna offered him a calm smile, his hands on her shoulders the most comforting thing she'd ever felt. Clearing her throat, Arianna tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Thank you." She murmured. "Sorry for the wait." She picked up the linen she had dropped. "We hope you enjoy your stay." She smiled at him again, moving past Luke to wait in the hallway.

Luke smiled. "No need to rush just because we're here." He promised Cecilia. "We don't mind waiting, you're just doing your jobs." He promised, studying Cecilia carefully, smiling as he saw how beautiful she was, nodding at her politely. "Thanks for making the room look awesome."

Michael smiled as he took her in while he could but shook his head. "It's nothing to apologize for. We're in no rush, really," he assured her but examined her while she walked away, admiring her before he peered to Luke, raising his brows, because it seemed like this hotel stop was worth more than the chance to stretch their legs and get some fresh air.

"We would never rush," Cecilia assured easily, offering a smile before nodding slowly. "Thank you for your patience. Enjoy your stay." She tried not to look at Luke too much, certain that she'd find herself admiring him, because he really was attractive, and she moved to join Arianna, rolling the vacuum with her.

Arianna turned a corner with Cecilia, exhaling. "Wow." She commented quietly. "I wasn't expecting him to be that hot." She completely disregarded the fact that Luke was there too, her attention and focus having been on Michael the entire time. "And they're... really polite, for a bunch of band boys." She raised her eyebrows to Cecilia.

Luke mimicked Michael's eyebrow raise. "Well, that was a good first encounter." He patted Michael's shoulder, congratulating him for his awkwardness, admiring the work that was done in the room, unable to get Cecilia's smile out of his mind. "I... yeah, got a good feeling about this place, Michael."

Cecilia arched an amused brow, nudging her friend gently. "Yeah? Which one?" she asked teasingly, though she chewed on her lip a bit with thinking about Luke. "They are." She nodded her agreement and offered a small smile. "Maybe the band's stay here won't end like every other famous person's stay."

"How was I supposed to know she was coming out?" Michael asked with a pout, "And she was really, really beautiful." He had no qualms admitting that to Luke, after all. Stepping inside, he peered around a bit. "They did a really good job, though. This place looks amazing." Looking to Luke, he smiled, nodding his agreement. "So do I. I definitely think this place is worth the stay."

"The cute one that nearly knocked me down." Arianna laughed. "Hey, maybe they're here to change our minds. And they don't look like a tribute band." She nudged Cecilia back, just as gentle. "What else do we need to do for today?" She asked, wanting to get her mind from Michael.

"And you made such a great first impression." Luke grinned teasingly. "Yeah, she was." He agreed, although he wasn't talking about Arianna, his mind completely on Cecilia. Claiming the bed nearer to the door, Luke fell against the mattress and grinned as he felt himself sink into it. "This is the life."
