Sean gave a hiss with Diana’s actions, having thrown his arms up to protect himself, but he glared after her. “What the hell, Diana! This is a new shirt!” he yelled at her, watching her. “You can’t just walk away from me! Get back here!”
Michael couldn’t help but to burst out into laughter as he saw the display, not caring that it attracted Sean’s attention, and he clapped his hands in approval. “Way to go,” he commented loudly, grinning over at the asshole who’d been treating Diana so poorly, before he peered over at Diana and thought, but made his way over. “I’m glad you did something and walked away from that situation,” he told Diana, “And in a completely brilliant, impressive way.” He grinned slightly. “Because, I was really close to stepping in to say something to that asshole myself.” He shifted a bit, taking her in. “I’m Michael, by the way.” He smiled, holding his hand out to her in greeting.
Cassidy did her best to ignore Carl, though she followed Diana quietly, chewing on her lip, anxious about lifting her gaze. Hearing somebody approach them, though, she blinked, lifting her gaze to the men, her eyes falling on the one who’d spoken to them first, and she felt her heart calming with the sight of him, not sure how or why that was possible. “I, uh…” She trailed off, chewing on her lip. “Thanks. It was kind of… I don’t know, it just happened.”
