i see my future in your eyes

Michael nodded as he listened to Luke's explanation. "I'm sure she'll love it," he assured his friend as he followed him, understanding how hard it was. He hated leaving Nora behind when he had to go deal with everything the band did. He loved his life and the band and everything that came with it, but he knew it wasn't fair on Nora. "That's why I want to get Nora a pup, too. I mean, it'd ease my heart, knowing that she wasn't alone, sure, but I just don't want her to feel lonely in general, especially during the pregnancy."

Anette grinned, leaning into her friend's hold with amusement, hugging her friend in return, and nodded. "It'll be an amazing journey, I just know it," she murmured happily, laughing. "Baby Hemmings can't wait to meet Aunt Nora, either, though." She grinned broadly, chewing on her lip. "They'll be just as close as you and I are, maybe even more so. God, I'm excited for it." She laughed but nodded. "Yeah, let's binge watch something while we wait."

Luke nodded at Michael. "A puppy, dude, you're crazy." Luke laughed, shaking his head, although he understood completely. "They go through teething, Petunia used to chew my mail." He cringed at the memory, paying for the Bear as the assistant took it to add the recording. "What're we gonna do to tour when the babies are here?" He bit his lip. "Is bringing babies on tour acceptable?"

Nora grinned. "These two are gonna raise some Hell when they touch down." She teased Anette, settling into the couch and reaching for the TV remote. "I vote The Lion King, because I'm definitely a twenty year old woman." She grinned, putting on Netflix. "Also, I'm definitely gonna be the cool Aunt." She smirked.

"I'm sure I can find chew toys to keep the pup busy," Michael joked with a grin, though he nodded slightly. "I just hope the pup doesn't cause too much trouble for Nora, in that case." Maybe he'd been a bit impulsive with thinking about the pup but he didn't want to go back on it now. He blinked, though, and rubbed the back of his head. "Oh, uh... I don't know. I haven't really thought that far ahead." He'd been so excited about being a Dad that he hadn't really paused to think about the fact that he'd still be busy.

"We can always blame the raising hell on their Dads, they're definitely who these babies will get it from - or so we'll say," Anette joked with a broad grin, though her grin broadened even more. "You know I never turn down Disney." She leaned back, turning her attention to the TV, though she laughed. "You'll be the best Aunt to Baby Hemmings, so long as I'm the best Aunt to Baby Clifford."

Luke accepted the Bear back, smiling as he studied it, before looking to Michael. "Mate, I'm bringing my baby on tour. Get those big, noise cancelling headphones and we're sorted." He fished his car keys from his pocket. "I don't care what anyone says, we can do this." Luke patted Michael's back. "Our kids could see the world before they're one." He grinned at the thought, unlocking the car as he put the bear in the back seat, grinning at it proudly.

Nora grinned. "Blame Michael and Luke? I'm in." She pressed play on The Lion King. "I am two hundred percent certain that Luke is gonna present your baby this way." She teased. "But honestly," she smiled over at Anette once more. "If you say no to anything your baby wants - you know I'm gonna say yes, if Luke doesn't beat me to it." She grinned.

Michael laughed quietly, nodding slightly. "Yeah, I guess you have a point there," he decided with a small grin, his heart swelling now with the thought of having Baby Clifford on tour. Climbing into the car, he peered at his friend. "You gonna buckle that teddy bear up?" He smirked teasingly at his friend but buckled up anyways.

"It'd be so easy and we'd probably get away with it for a while," Anette said with a laugh, though she grinned as she settled her gaze on the movie. "Oh, man, don't give him ideas. Imagine him standing at the roof of a hospital, doing that." She laughed, shaking her head slightly, though she grinned. "Hardly fair. I don't know if I'd be able to say no, though, honestly. This baby already has me wanting to bend over backwards for it. Though I'm excited to spoil Baby Clifford, too." She grinned.

Luke grinned at the thought. “We could sleep with the babies on our chest.” He smiled, excited to make a bond with his future son or daughter, silently vowing there and then he would do anything to protect them — and Anette. Smirking and shaking his head, Luke buckled the teddy to prove a point and got into the drivers seat. “Alright, where to?”

Nora laughed at the thought of Luke presenting Anette’s baby in such a manner. “I would pay big dollars for this to happen.” She grinned. “He’d do it for fifty.” She laughed. “I feel exactly the same. Whatever tyke wants, tyke gets.” She grinned, rubbing her tummy protectively.

"Oh, man, I already can't wait for that," Michael said with a broad grin as he watched his friend, though he playfully rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Honestly." Shifting, he pulled out his phone to show Luke the address. "This place." He grinned broadly, excited.

"He'd do it for free," Anette said with a laugh, grinning, "And, of course, Michael would outdo him, do it from a skyscraper or something." She grinned broadly with the thought, though she nodded as she leaned back, relaxing. "I'm so excited for all of it."

Luke studied the address before nodding. “This puppy is sitting on your lap so it doesn’t ruin my surprise.” Luke teased, putting the car into motion. “Just one more stop and we get to see our girls again.” He smiled at the thought of seeing Anette, biting his lip. “What do you think is gonna happen on Monday?”

Nora bit her lip in amusement, shaking her head. “Dad wars?” She laughed. “If Michael did it anywhere that isn’t on ground floor, I’d kill him.” She admitted with a laugh. “But I know he’s gonna make such an amazing Dad. It’s kinda hot.” She shook her head.

Michael laughed. "I dunno, I think the pup would definitely love a teddy bear chew toy," he teased lightly, though he grinned as he buckled up, nodding slightly. "I can't wait. I'm so ready to see Nora." And to hold her, to have her close. He thought about it for a moment but shrugged. "I guess they'll see how the babies are doing? Make sure everything's good?"

"Oh, definitely Dad wars. I mean, Ashton and Calum are probably already gearing up for Uncle wars, it's only logical that Luke and Michael would jump at the idea of Dad wars," Anette said with amusement, shaking her head slightly, though her heart swelled with the thought of Luke and she nodded. "You won't be able to keep your hands off him. Not that I'm one to talk, with Luke." She laughed.

“I’ll throw the dog in the sea.” Luke warned jokingly as he drove. “I’m ready to see Anette, too.” He admitted with a smile, he really was. Just to have her near him would be such a relief after being away from her for so long. “I can’t wait to see little one on screen.” Luke bit his lip to hold back the smile as he parked up. “Need me to come with?”

Nora laughed. “I can barely keep my hands off Michael now, nevermind when hormones start kicking in.” She shook her head in amusement, looking at the clock and seeing it wasn’t near eight pm yet. Sighing slightly, she grinned as Simba began to sing I Just Can’t Wait to Be King. “Life’s pretty good, Anette. And Monday? We get to see our babies.”

"You wouldn't do that! I'd rat you out to the girls and Nora would kick your ass, who knows what Anette would do," Michael said quickly, but grinned, nodding slightly. "I'm so excited to see tyke, I wanna know that the baby's healthy, that everything's going well with the pregnancy, just whatever they can tell, you know?" He shifted, climbing out of the car. "You can come if you want but you don't have to."

Anette laughed, nodding. "I know what you mean," she assured with amusement, "Though I definitely didn't need that imagery." Grinning, she shook her head, breathing out happily, trying not to think about the time and how much longer she had to wait to see Luke. "Yeah, it's all going to be fantastic. I can't wait."

Luke laughed loudly at Michael’s quick response. “Anette would kick my ass from here to London.” He told Michael with a grin, shaking his head with amusement as he got out of the car. “I just want to know when Baby Hemmings is set to touch down.” He admitted. “And to make sure that they’re healthy, and Anette’s healthy.” He followed Michael up the path to the house. “I’ll wait out here.”

Nora giggles at Anette’s words. “Sorry. But not really.” She winked. “It’s gonna be amazing.” Nora nodded. “I can’t wait for Michael to get home though, I hate these late nights.” She admitted. “It’s gonna be worst when they tour for this album.” And she loved 5 Seconds of Summer and their success, she did, but she hated being away from Michael.

Michael nodded his agreement, feeling the same when it came to Nora. He wanted her and Baby Clifford to be in good health, he wanted the pregnancy to go smoothly for her, he wanted things to be okay. "Alright, I'll be back soon," he promised with a grin before he headed in. The whole process went by pretty fast and easy, and they even gave him the pup's bed and dog food and play toys, which Michael figured would make things a lot easier for now. Grinning, he took the leash after paying and headed out, leading the adorable Labrador out with him before he looked to Luke. "Alright, we're ready." And, the pup looked eager, its tail wagging excitedly, but Michael bent to pick it up to avoid getting Luke's car dirty, laughing as the pup licked him, certain Nora would enjoy the affectionate pup.

"Gross," Anette joked lightly, laughing, though she nodded in understanding, resting her hand back on her stomach, chewing on her lip. "Yeah... It's gonna be hard." It always was, she knew that. But she usually got through it without complaint because she wanted Luke to chase his dreams. She never wanted to hold him back and did her best not to show how lonely it felt sometimes. "We'll be okay, though. We usually are." But it wouldn't just be them, it'd be their babies, too, and she knew that might change things, but she tried to be hopeful.

“Dude!” Luke gasped, stroking the puppy’s head. “He’s so cute.” He grinned. “This dog and your baby are gonna be best friends.” He told Michael, leading him back to the car and putting the pup’s things in the back seat. Opening the passenger door for Michael, Luke went and climbed into the drivers seat, starting the car. “We finally get to see our girls. And we’re home two hours than expected. We should sneak up on them.” Luke grinned, putting the car into motion as Michael shut his door.

Nora saw Anette’s apprehension and smiled softly. “We got each other.” She told her best friend. “A big part of me believes these guys are gonna be suckers for the babies, too.” She admitted honestly. “Michael would hate leaving.” She shrugged. “We can work something out.” And although Nora almost didn’t believe her own words, she smiled still, knowing that she needed to remain calm and hopeful.

"I'm hoping Nora loves him," Michael said honestly, grinning broadly, "He's already got my approval." He laughed as he climbed into the car, resting the pup on his lap before he closed the door and buckled up. "Oh? Sneak up on them?" He grinned, looking over. "And what do you suggest? I'm half thinking about just opening the door and letting pup here run in first." He laughed, finding the idea more amusing than it probably was.

Anette smiled and nodded. "And we'll have the babies. Least we won't be lonely," she murmured, though she wanted more than anything to just enjoy some down times with Luke. "I feel like the guys will kidnap the babies, take them on journeys while we nap." She laughed with the thought. "They'll take any chance they could to spend time with the babies, it'd be adorable."

Luke laughed. “That’s a good idea.” He reached over to scratch the pup’s ear before concentrating on the road. Luke drove effortlessly, glad to just have two extra hours to spend with Anette instead of worrying about the new album constantly — although he was proud in the direction which the album was going, all he could think about was Anette and the baby, and his heart swelled at the thought. Turning into their street, Luke parked up outside Michael and Nora’s house and grinned. “Let’s go.”

Nora laughed at the scenario, shaking her head. “We wouldn’t get a moment of rest. I feel like Michael and Luke would wanna do everything they could to help.” She smiled at that though, it was one of the many things she fell in love with Michael for, just how incredible he was.

Michael grinned before he climbed out of the pup, eager to see Nora, but also just so eager to surprise her. Grabbing everything out of the back of the car, he set the pup down, holding to his leash before he nodded. "Alright, now or never," he joked before he led the way up to the house. Opening the door, he took the leash off the pup and watched the pup dart inside, a grin spreading across Michael's face before he stepped inside.

Anette smiled and nodded with the mention of it. "At least we know we can always count on them," she murmured happily, grinning with the thought, because the guys really were amazing like that. They never let the girls down. Snapping out of her thoughts, Anette blinked, swearing she heard noise coming from the door but they weren't in an area where they could see.

Nora frowned, looking to Anette. “Did you hear that?” She asked quietly, gasping as a Labrador puppy came bounding in. “Woah, little guy.” She laughed, sitting on the floor to calm the pup down, looking to Anette as she stroked the dog with the biggest grin.

Luke grabbed Anette’s teddy bear from the back seat, grinning proudly as he followed Michael up the garden path, following him inside as he shut the door gently behind him, not wanting to give themselves away, waiting for Michael’s next move patiently, although eager to show the bear to Anette.

Anette nodded slightly, admittedly nervous, but when a cute little puppy came in, she laughed. "Okay, uh, where'd you come from, little guy?" she asked, looking to Nora with confusion, arching a brow as she watched the pup wag his tail excitedly, jumping to lick Nora's face, "At least he seems sweet." She grinned but shifted, moving to get a closer look, looking for a tag, but not finding one.

Michael grinned as he listened, glad to hear Nora's laugh. He could tell the pup was probably already giving her all kinds of affection and he grinned, peeking behind him at Luke to raise a finger to his lips to motion for them to stay quiet. He carefully tiptoed further into the house, peeking around the corner of the wall to get a look at what was going on, grinning broadly at the sight when he spotted Nora stroking the pup's fur with the biggest grin he'd seen in a while.

“Does he have a tag?” Nora asked Anette, looking up at Anette as she scratched the pups ear, laughing at the pups energy. “He seems very sweet.” Nora nodded. “A collar, but no tag.” She raised an eyebrow at Anette, smiling as she wrapped her arms around the pup, seeing him calm down already. “Aw, eventful day, buddy?” She cooed.

Luke smiled at the scene before him, shaking his head in amusement as the girls paid attention to the puppy, although his attention focused solely on Anette. He grinned, looking to Michael as he put the bear on the table in the hall, not wanting Anette to see it straight away. Stepping into the room, Luke grinned. “Well, aren’t you three adorable?”
