NaNoWriMo 2018

Hello, Hina here! And it's time for Nanowrimo (Or almost time depending on when you see this thread).

So if you don't know what Nanowrimo is, it's National Novel Writing Month where you try and write 50 thousand words in one month. It's a month long event that takes place during November. In the Summer and Spring there's a similar event in April and July called Camp Nanowrimo and it's a little less restrictive than the normal NaNoWriMo.

Anyway, I'm Hina and I've been doing NaNoWriMo since 2011 and this year, the seventh time is the charm! At least I hope so. My Nanwrimo novel isn't going to be an actual "novel" but a collection of one shots I'm planning on doing for NaNoWriMo in the X-Men fandom since I've been watching nothing but X-Men cartoons and movies for the past few days.

I'm Nate! I've been doing NaNoWriMo since 2012. I had a dry spell between 2015 and 2017, where I broke it by winning Camp NaNo in April. This is going to be my 9th time participating including camp, my 7th without camp. And my sixth time winning!

Heeey Nate Ahaha that's awesome, I think I only participated in Camp Nano like four times (and two of the times I ended up dropping out :()

Also, on the topic of Camp NaNo... I was the same way. I dropped out too soon. It didn't have the same vibe that November NaNoWriMo does, so I realized it was harder to really do it for me. :c

Yeah, Camp Nano has a different vibe but at the same time it kinda make easy to do. But Nanowrimo's somewhat tighter schedule makes you actually strive for the bigger goal.

That's true... I prefer November's over others. It makes me work my butt off trying to plan, seeing how I usually avoid planning on my other stores and such. :c

How did everyone's first nanowrimo day go?

Lol mine was meh... haha I hit my word count goal at midnight and it’s now almost 1PM on day two and I haven’t written since then. I just cleaned my apartment so I’m hoping to crunch out some words!

Hallo, alle! I'm so very, very late in joining in and I am currently sitting at a zero word count in a month where I have zero time to write, but I'm participating this year for whatever reason.

I'm Victoria and I've been participating in NaNoWriMo since 2011. I've only won it once - last year, incidentally - but I'm aiming this year for at least 30K due to the lack of time thing mentioned above. If I hit 50K, it'll be some form of minor miracle.

My NaNo profile is here and my story page on Mibba is here. It has no current summary and the layout is a filler one until I can make a better one but hey ho, it's there.

I hope to reach at least 2K by the end of the next hour and a half because I'm running so far behind everybody. Good luck to everybody else!

I haven't managed to get any more done today, ugh. Might write for a bit when I get home from work tomorrow and see if I can get my 'words per day to finish on time' thing down to at least 1800

Lol I've been struggling too. These last few days I've had THE WORST headaches all day and the worst fatigue. I've resorted to writing while at work. I'm at least only about 1,100 down for the day, though.
