Amelia looked out the window as Sam parked at the small diner. She thanked him as he opened her her door and she got out. Following Sam inside and sitting down, Amelia looked over at him, “What do you suggest?”

Sam sat across from her and thought about her question before speaking. “Pancakes are good so are waffles if you want to try something sweet” he said before ordering water for both of them along with a cup of coffee for himself.

Amelia nodded as she listened to Sam, “I’ll have pancakes then.” She smiled, taking a drink of her water once it was brought over. As the pancakes were placed in front of her, Amelia took a bite, “Mm, that’s good.”

Sam smiled. “Good choice” he said as he then ordered waffles. His smile grew as he watched her take the first bite. “Yeah they are really good” he said before taking a sip of his coffee. He ordered waffles with fruit on the side. He knew if his brother were here he would make fun of him.

Amelia ate the pancakes, smiling after each bite. Maybe being on Earth wouldn’t be so bad, she would get good food and to be honest, Sam wasn’t all bad to look at or be around so far. She sipped her water as she finished her pancakes.

Sam smiled as he ate, watching Ameila enjoy her pancakes. He finished his food and sipped his coffee. “was it good?” He then asked when he noticed she was finished as wel.

Amelia nodded quickly, “They were delicious.” She laughed softly, a little embarrassed that she was so excited over something so simple. Amelia brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear, “I apologize, that probably seemed silly.”

Sam smiled as he watched her expressions. “It’s not silly. It’s completely alright” he said with a reassuring smile. “Is there anything else you want to try?” He then asked as he took another sip of his coffee.

“Um, how about one of those?” Amelia pointed over to the counter where a few banana nut muffins were on display in a small glass case. A smile spread across her face as Sam stopped the waitress and asked for one of the muffins. When it was placed in front of her, Amelia smiled once again before picking it up and taking a bite, “Oh my, that is good. It tastes really fresh.”

Sam smiled as he watched Amelia eat the muffin. “I’m glad you like it” he said as he finished his coffee. He then grabbed the check the waitress put on the table. “Is there anything you would like to do?” He then asked.

Amelia shrugged slightly, “I don’t really know.” She laughed softly, watching as he grabbed the check. Amelia was enjoying the time with Sam, she wasn’t entirely sure what it was, but being around him made her feel comfortable.

Sam smiled. “Well we could go to a park or something?” He suggested, figuring that she wouldn’t want to go back to the bunker right away. Sam was enjoying spending time with her.

Hearing Sam mention a park, Amelia nodded, “That sounds nice.” She smiled over at him before she finished her drink. She was looking forward to seeing more than just the bunker.

Sam smiled and got up. “Alright lets go” he said as he walked with her to the counter to pay. He then walked back to the table, leaving a tip before walking out with Amelia. “Is this your first time on earth?” He then asked her as they walked to the car

Amelia followed Sam to the car and got in after him. Hearing his question, Amelia laughed nervously, “Its that obvious, right?” She sighed softly as she looked over at him, “I honestly never thought I’d end up on earth, truth be told.”

Sam smiled and looked over at her. “It’s alright. It can be a great place. There is somethings bad about it though” he said as he pulled out of the diner parking lot, driving towards the park.

Amelia nodded as she listened to Sam speak, “I understand, everything has a downside, right?” She asked as she glanced over at him as he drove. Amelia turned her attention to the window.

Sam nodded. “right” he said as he pulled into the park. He then got out and walked to her side, opening the door for her. It was a very beautiful open area and it was peaceful. “Would you like to go for a walk?”
