    My life
    You electrify my life
    Let's conspire to ignite
All the souls that would die just to feel alive
Now I'll never let you go
If you promised not to fade away
    Never fade away

Aiden had heard, since she was old enough to understand, that when you met the one, the one you were destined to be with, you would know, because your world would become a little bit brighter. She failed to understand what that meant, but when she'd heard how fantastically green the grass looked in the summer, or how the leaves came to life once more after a horrid winter, she began to get a grasp of the idea, because she had never seen green. And she wondered what sort of beauty she was missing out on, but still, she never questioned it.

Luke was just getting impatient now. His parents had told him their love story, how his mother had never known the colour of the sky until she'd met his father, and having heard the fairytale since he was younger, he was eager to experience it for himself. He'd never known the colour of the sky himself, the apparent blue hues other people were familiar with, just not him, no matter how many times he tried to meet his one, no relationship ever clicked and no spectrum was ever unlocked.

Michael had gone his whole life so far without meeting his soulmate, without seeing the color brown - the color of chocolate ice cream or puppy eyes. When he'd been younger, he'd asked about the color brown, and most people gave him negative answers, but there were those who loved the color so much that it made him wish more than almost anything that he could see it. The only wish that ever beat it was his wish to finally meet his soulmate, to find the person he was meant to love and cherish and spend his life with. With all the stories he'd heard over the years, every story sounding like a new and completely different, unique one, he couldn't wait for his own soulmate story to come to life.

Carita found herself staring at the pool water in her backyard, something she did every day, as if staring at it long enough would cause the blue she was supposed to see to appear, rather than the grey she saw there instead. With how many years had gone by without meeting her soulmate, she was beginning to think it was hopeless; her parents had found each other at such young ages, and she'd heard of stories where people were elderly before they met their soulmates, and a part of her wondered if there had ever been somebody who had died before meeting theirs, before seeing the color they never got to see.

Luke ran his hand anxiously through his hair as he sat on his porch, staring up at the grey sky. It was so strange to him - the rest of his world was in brilliant colour, and yet, blue seemed to be the thing that was missing. The hosepipe was a dull grey, the water from the sprinklers on the yard had no colour, and the sky was just bland, boring, and yet, Luke longed to see the picture completed. His parents had met in their teenage years, and here he was, at twenty two, wondering when it would be his turn. Standing to his feet, Luke decided that going for a walk would help him shake off the anxiety he was feeling. Stepping down the garden path, Luke touched the gate, grey as well, and hoped that maybe today could be the day.

Aiden sat inside the coffee shop; typing away at her laptop. When things were too busy at home, Aiden liked to come here to finish some reports that she'd promised her boss. She'd worked in a boring office for so long, and even without knowing the colour green, she knew that place was bland. Sipping her coffee, almost the same colour as her eyes, Aiden sighed, sitting back in her chair, tired and fed up. She was twenty now, and surely, Aiden should of known her soulmate by now. Everyone else she knew, apart from her best friend, had met theirs and their rainbow had been filled in, but Aiden's still remained blank.

Carita chewed on her lip anxiously, always feeling this hopelessness early in the days or late at night, when things felt most lonely. Turning, she breathed out, needing to get away from the house, and she walked quietly, leaving the yard, following the path to the sidewalk. She didn't normally go for walks on the sidewalk, normally preferring the path through the woods by her home, but, for some reason, her feet carried her this way instead.

Michael stared at the wooden cabinets, seeing only gray there when he knew he should see brown, all the wooden areas in his home being gray. Chewing on his lip, he turned to leave, needing to escape it, needing to relax somewhere else. When he left the house, he found himself wandering at first, walking patiently away from his home, not even sure where he was walking at first. When he came across a coffee shop, though, he headed inside, wanting coffee, even if he couldn't see the color of it.

Luke hummed to an unknown tune as he walked, not looking where he was going as he focused on his shoes. Luke was beginning to feel the pressure of finding his soulmate, now especially as he was getting older. As his thoughts danced around his mind, Luke didn't realise just how stupidly preoccupied he'd been until his shoulder bumped into someone else's. Looking up to apologise, Luke blinked in surprise as he came face to face with the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen, but the more he studied her, the more he realised that the colour of his sky began to change to the most incredible blue. Pausing on the sidewalk, Luke stared for a moment as suddenly, the world around him became more vibrant, more beautiful, and there she was, that beautiful stranger, with the most stunning blue eyes Luke had ever seen. "Hi..."

Aiden stood to her feet as she packed up her laptop, deciding to focus entirely on her coffee. She was almost at the bottom of her cup when she heard the bell above the door tinkle happily to signal that a new customer had walked in, but Aiden just didn't bother paying attention. Slipping her laptop into her bag, Aiden stood to her feet, deciding that the rest of her coffee was useless, it was a little cold now, anyway. Heading to the door, Aiden paused as she saw a man studying the menu, her head tilting as she watched him. "I heard the cappuccino is amazing." She told him with a smile, not understanding where her confidence came from, but letting it happen.

Carita had paused in shock when she had felt somebody bump into her. Curious and confused, she'd lifted her gaze, only to freeze when her gaze locked onto the other person's and, for the first time ever, she could see the color blue, in this man's eyes. She couldn't tear her gaze from his and, for a moment, she found herself speechless as the realization dawned on her. “Hi,” she breathed out after a moment. “Sorry, I, uh, I don't mean to stare.”

Michael blinked when he heard a woman's voice and, at first, he wasn't sure whether she was talking to him or not. Eventually, though, he looked to her to respond, to thank her for the suggestion, though he paused, frozen when his gaze locked with hers, his eyes widening slightly. The tables in the cafe were going from gray to a nice brown, but the most beautiful brown he saw in that moment was this woman's eyes. “Thanks,” he said after he recovered from his shock. “Um, I'm Michael.” He grinned slightly, holding his hand out to her. “And you have really gorgeous eyes.”

Luke grinned as he studied Carita further, unable to resist the urge to."Hi." He repeated once more, noticing how she'd freezed, and Luke just knew she was going through the same thing, and Luke wondered if it felt just as amazing for her as it did for him. Biting his lip with the thought, Luke took a moment to realise this was her, this was his soulmate, and Luke was willing for the stories he'd heard to be told a million times over if it meant he got to keep this feeling. "No, no, it's fine..." He cleared his throat. "I'm Luke. Luke Hemmings." He outstretched his hand for her to shake, his smile almost meek despite the confidence of his exterior.

Aiden smiled as the man's gaze met hers, wanting to seem friendly, but she paused when her world began to transform. Within his eyes, she saw the most beautiful shade of, what she assumed to be, was green. The various potted plants around the shop were showing the magnificence of life within their leaves (the pink flowers always did look so ridiculous against a grey backdrop), and glancing down at her laptop bag, she saw it was now a dark shade of green, too. Focusing back on Michael, she smiled, biting her lip. "Michael, hi." She told him with a grin to match his own, suddenly having found her whole world. "I'm Aiden." She took his hand, just wanting to hold his hand forever, hating to pull away. "So do you." She told him honestly. "Incredibly green..."

Carita could feel her heart racing in a way she wasn’t familiar with, but in a way she’d always known it would when faced with her soulmate. Everything seemed to come to life - including herself, - and she could already feel a love building within her that she just couldn’t ignore. “Carita Devlin,” she introduced quietly, watching him for a few long moments, “It’s… Really wonderful to meet you, Luke Hemmings.” With a small, nervous smile, she placed her hand in his to shake it, though the simple touch sent butterflies through her, and she loved it.

Michael grinned slightly as he examined Aiden, swearing his heart never felt fuller, that he never felt more right. “It’s amazing to meet you, Aiden,” he murmured as he watched her, his heart picking up speed when he felt her hand in his, and he squeezed her hand gently, admiring her, excited to have his soulmate finally in his life. “I, um… Are you busy or anything?” He arched a brow, watching her, curious, because all he wanted now was to spend time with her, to never be apart from her. “Do you want to, uh… Should we do something? Anything at all? You name it.”

Luke had never experienced excitement like it, the way his heart fluttered within his chest at just the possibilities that could happen between himself and Carita now that they'd found each other. "God, I'm so sorry if I come on too strong, you're just so beautiful." And Luke didn't know where his confidence had come from, but he felt the words rise at the back of his throat and he just needed to let them out, wanted to let her know. As Carita's hand was placed in his though, Luke exhaled with relief, because it was a touch he had craved for so fucking long, but now she was here. "This sounds absolutely crazy, but... do you wanna find something to do? Get to know each other, maybe?" He never wanted to part from Carita now that he found her, the thought broke his heart.

Aiden studied Michael, and she couldn't help but smile as she caught the sight of his grin, because he was so incredibly handsome, he was perfect, and she had no complaints that he was the one she was destined to spend the rest of her life with. "It's so amazing to meet you too, Michael." Aiden sighed out with content as she felt his skin against hers, and lifting her gaze to his once more, Aiden bit her lip as Michael gently squeezed her hand. "I'm free all day, if you wanna get to know each other." Aiden smiled then, because the thought of parting from Michael now that she'd found him just made her want to pull him to her and never let go. "Well, how about we just... go back to mine? Watch a movie, hang out, get to know each other?"
