Michael listened to her quietly as he watched her, his heart aching with the thought that Robert had driven her to the point that she was actually planning to go home. Still, he nodded slightly in understanding. “If you feel that’s what’s best,” he murmured quietly as he examined her before he reached over, brushing her hair gently out of her face before he leaned to kiss her forehead lovingly. “Let me know what you decide to do, okay? If you want to go home, I can drive you to mine during lunch, after Robert leaves.” He was sure there’d be plenty of time to do so, at least. Shifting, he kissed her forehead again. “I love you. I’ll take care of this locker once the hallway is clear.” He offered a smile, hoping to encourage her, wishing he could be there to brave the day with her, but he nodded to her words. “You’re everything to me, okay? I’ll be here if you need me.” He gave her hand a squeeze before she’d dropped his hand and he backed away, despite not wanting to, never wanting to part from her, but he breathed out quietly as he moved away, texting Luke quickly. I need to borrow some paint.
Liana sniffled quietly as she listened to Luke and she nodded slightly as she wiped at her eyes, trying to calm down after everything. “I love you, too,” she whispered quietly, worried about speaking too loudly because the hallway could echo and she didn’t want to cause any more trouble or attract any more attention. “No, um, you should probably get back. Classes are about to end, I don’t want to make things worse or give him more things to use against us.” She chewed on her lip anxious, her fingers wrapping around the key for a moment, and she nodded slightly, pulling back, her heart racing when she heard the bell ring and the doors start opening. Looking to the locker in panic, she shifted but turned to head to Luke’s classroom to get some paint quickly.
