The Roman people were disgusting. The way they treated others who were different sent chills of disgust to ripple through Aelia. The servants were treated like garbage and those with money acted like they owned the world. Yet, they were the ones depending on those who were of the working class so that they could live safely and make money. Pitiful.
Bright green eyes, just like her mothers, looked around the large Villa that her new master owned. This sort of architecture still amazed the fallen Princess of Maelon. She had been a courtesan in training for a while, being separated from her family as soon as her Country was taken over. Her Maelon name vanished with her Country, now, she goes by a Roman name. Aelia, meaning sun in Rome. Named because when she looked at someone, her eyes reflected the Sun. Hot, and dangerous.
Aelia looked forward as she followed another servant out of one of the doors. "And this is where the master's gladiators train. Their living quarters are over there." The older black haired woman said as she pointed towards an area across from the open area. "Don't let the gladiators scare you, they aren't allowed to touch you unless given permission." The words were supposed to make Lia feel better, but they didn't. As the sight of the men caused Lia to feel even sicker as she watched them train. They brought back memories that she wished she didn't have.

The Roman sun beat down on the men as they trained in the square. Sweat ran down their faces as they swung their training swords made of wood, or raised their shields to block a blow. The trainers shouted instructions as someone messed up or because someone was goofing around during training and was pissing them off.
Niko sighed as he wiped his bottom lip. A smear of blood appearing upon his lip as he gazed at the man in front of him. A smug smirk appearing on his opponents face as he seemed proud to have landed a blow upon Niko's pretty face. "Not so pretty anymore, now are ya? Pretty boy." The man mocked Niko, which in turn spurred him into an angry shout as Niko charged at the man once more. The men fought once more, their wooden swords banging against each other and using their shields to block. Their training was certainly no child's play.
Then once the guards called for a break, and only then, did all of the men throw down their weapons and shields. Niko walked over to where they kept the water jugs and cupped some with his hands. Then, he quickly splashed it onto his face. He did that a few times to get the sweat away from his face before he looked towards the doors to the masters Villa. His gaze freezing for a moment as he laid eyes on a woman he had not seen before.
