A deep frown started to take over Aelia's lips. She really had no idea how she should be taking everything. Should she be glad that she could be ending a war that helped shape her life back home, or, should she be worried about her life-changing? Not to mention that even though Theo thinks she'll be fine, there's still the possibility that she could die.

"I don't know Theo, history tends to repeat it's self." She murmured quietly as she looked towards him as she felt his hand squeeze hers. She turned her hand over so that she could lace her fingers with his. Then, she gave it a small shy squeeze as she gazed at her hands.

    --

A roll of his eyes was all Orion gave Helena as he listened to her. The corners of his lips tugging upwards. "No, that's a. I'm not in charge of training and if you want to be a real knight, you have to ask someone who's more skilled." He murmured, casting her a small smirk as he reached and flicked Helena on the arm playfully.

"We're going to some abandoned mines." He said, looking forward and sitting straight. "They're collections of mines that were abandoned a couple years ago because they stopped producing a high quality of crystals." He stopped to see if Helena was getting what he was saying. "The idea is, if we leave the mines alone, that they'd grow more crystals and in time we could go back to them. Which is why we're going, I want to see if the theory is working or not."

Theodore continued to holds her hands, giving them a gentle reassuring squeeze, reaching a hand up to brush a strand of her hair out of her face. "That's not going to happen in this case, Aelia. Nothing is going to happen to you." He reassured her, pressing a soothing and reassuring kiss to her forehead before standing.

"Maybe we should head back to the castle, we can return some other time to look at the history books." He said, not wanting her to stress out too much.
Helena smiled faintly when he flicked her arm, reaching over to punch his arm gently. "You're not the best at everything? Could have fooled me." She teased. "So, who is the best knight?" She asked, smiling excitedly as he spoke about the mines.

"Really? That sounds exciting.. Do you think it'll work? Leaving the mines alone for a few years to let the crystals grow? But don't crystals take thousands of years to grow?" She asked.

The young Princess breathed in deeply through her nose and exhaled a few times through her mouth. Eyes closing as she took in Theo's soothing touches. He was so nice to her, it felt nice to know that someone at this time could be so caring. "Okay." She replied quietly as she opened her eyes once more. Then, followed his lead out of the castle.

"Theo," Aelia said quietly, stopping her movements once they were outside of the building. Her bright blue eyes looking up towards the taller man. "I'm sorry."

    --
A small chuckle escaped from Orion at Helena's weak little punch. His eyes looking at the girl in amusement for a moment before looking ahead of them. "The best knight?" He repeated, making a humming sound as he thought. "Jax Harrison." Orion finally said after a moment. "He's not a people person though, so it might be hard to accept you as a pupil."

At Helena's questions about the mines, all Orion could offer was a shrug. "I don't really know, supposedly the crystals have a different makeup of chemicals." He told her.

Theodore nodded, standing to tidy up the books before taking her arm, leading her out of the library quickly, hoping the fresh air would also be helpful. He turned to her with a frown when she apologized, shaking his head a little. "Its alright, Aelia. Really. You did nothing wrong." He reassured her before continuing back to their horse.

Once there he helped her up onto the saddle before climbing up himself, pressing a reassuring kiss to her cheek before heading off back to the palace.
Helena smiled, shrugging a little. "I'm sure I could convince him." She teased, grinning slightly as she looked at him. "After all, who can say no to a princess, albeit an ugly one." She laughed as they went along, humming a little in thought at the mention of the crystals.

She'd remembered learning about them in science class in high school at some point, but didn't remember much, as much of what was known about them was lost, and there were so few in her time it was impossible to get any. "Hm, interesting."

Even with Theo's reassurance. Aelia still felt that gnawing feeling in the pit of her stomach. She had the possibility of dying before she was to get married. That was a terrifying thought! She was brought back to rewrite history or something, right? So, isn't that possibility still hanging in the air?

As they rode back to the palace, Aelia finally realized something. "Hey, Theo." Her voice was quiet. "If it's agreed that I'm this... Princess, would we be engaged?"

    --

The young Prince stayed silent, opting for it to be the safer choice in how this conversation was going. He really didn't need to go chasing after a Princess on a horse and then try and get her to calm down. That was not something he needed nor wanted. "Did you want to ear first or explore first?" Orion asked as he saw the mines in the short distance.

Orion slowed his horse to a calm walk as they neared, then stopped her completely as he hopped off. Taking its reins and tying her to an old hitch a small distance from the mine.

Theodore frowned at her question, thinking for a moment before giving a small shrug. "I'm not sure, but I don't believe so. Our two countries hate each other, so I doubt we would be engaged, unless it was part of some sort of peace agreement." He explained.

He hopped off the horse once they were back at the palace, holding his arms up to her to help her down.
Helena hummed a little in thought before shrugging. "I ate before we left, so we can explore first.. But if you're hungry, or the food won't keep we should eat first." She smiled, stopping her horse next to Orion's.

She hopped down off of Lucy, patting her neck with a smile before tying her reigns on the tree as well and walking over to Orion, nudging his arm as she looked up at him. "We won't get lost in there, right?"

The reply that Aelia got from Theo wasn't really what she was expecting. The kind guy who had been there seemed a little distant with his reply. Then again, who'd want to marry someone they just met? It was just odd. "Okay." Was all Lia could respond with.
As they got to the Castle, Lia accepted his help down then pushed his hands away gently. "I'm gonna go lay down." She told him, heading towards the castle. A tired sigh escaping from her.

    --

Listening to Helena, Orion placed a hand on the basket and kept it there for a moment. "Whatever they packed, it's being kept cool with a cooling crystal. So we should be fine for another hour or two." He explained.

"We shouldn't," Orion reassured Helena as he started to talk towards the mines. "There should still be signs up on where the exit is and which way could be dangerous." He glanced towards Helena and winked. Teasing her a little.

Theodore frowned a bit, realizing that he might not have said the best thing in that situation. His father had been preparing him for years that he'd be married off to some princess or noblewoman for a politically advantageous marriage, but the idea still troubled him. He liked Aelia, and despite the chance of them marrying, he couldn't help but feel bad if it ended up being forced, believing that people ought to marry for love, even if he didn't have that luxury

He nodded when she said she wanted to lay down. "I can escort you back to your room, if you'd like.. Or I can have one of the guards accompany you." He offered, realizing she might not want to be around him anymore.
Helena nodded a little, grinning a little as they walked toward the mine. She giggled as he winked, giving him a little nudge. "Oh boy, danger. What kind of danger?" She asked, looking over toward the mine before looking back at the horses.

"Will they be ok there? They won't get stolen or anything, right?" She asked a bit worriedly before looking back up at him.

"I'm eighteen Theo, I'm pretty sure I can walk on my own two feet," Aelia replied, not looking back towards the Prince at all. She just kept her head held high as she continued forward. Listing her dress a little so that it didn't drag in the mud.

Once she reached the Castle doors, the guards opened the doors for her and she walked right in. Lia bit her bottom lip as soon as she heard the doors close. Was she too stubborn? Did she upset Theo? she hoped not. Instead of going to the room she's been using, Lia walked to the small terrace garden, using it as a hiding spot away from everyone.

    --

Another small chuckle escaped from Orion as Helena nudged his side once more. "Oh you know, the usual." He said, giving her a small smirk over his shoulder. "Loose rocks, walls collapsing, demons looking for souls to steal. The usual."

"What? The horses?" Orion asked, glancing back towards where the horses were before looking at Helena. "They'll be fine. We have guards stationed a few feet behind us." Orion explained as he stopped walking at the mouth of the cave. "Being I'm not allowed to be completely alone unless I'm in my chambers." He explained. "Shall we?" He asked, motioning to the mine entrance.

Theodore frowned, stopping short when he heard her snap at him. He stood there for a few moments, wanting to give her space before he headed into the castle, heading to his chambers to rest for a while. He felt awful for what he had said and worried that he had ruined any chance at friendship with the only person who had ever treated him like a real person, not a Prince.
Helena laughed a little as he listed off all the potential dangers in the mines, smiling up at him. "I'm sure that you'll be the most dangerous thing in there." She teased, returning his wink from earlier before nodding a little, glancing back at the guards that had accompanied them.

"Are you sure it's not because I'm a prisoner of Crearia? And they're not here to keep me from running away?" She asked teasingly, although she knew it was partially true.

She didn't know how long she had been sitting there. Outside, on a bench in the garden, but, Lia didn't want to go back inside. The guards weren't around watching her every move, so, she felt like she finally had some freedom. If only, she had her phone to listen to music. That would really help Lia calm her nerves right now.

"This whole place is probably just a dream, I don't know why I'm so upset about this," Lia mumbled quietly, bringing her knees to her chest.

    --

"How'd you know?" Orion asked, faking surprise as he looked to her and made a motion like he was going to bite her. Then, he stood back up and looked into the mines that he's been wanting to explore for a while. To be honest, he's never been inside, this was his first time and he was actually kinda excited.

At Helena's question, all Orion could do was shrug his shoulders. "You'll have to ask them that if you want the correct answer, to be honest."

Theodore rested for a little while, eating a bit of lunch hoping it would make him feel better, although that wasn't the case. After a while he left his room to wander around the castle, trying to calm his nerves, unable to help but feel guilty for what he had said.

Eventually he made his way out to the garden, not noticing Aelia at first, sighing deeply as he looked out over the city, although when he notice Aelia he frowned. "Oh, Princess Aelia, I didn't see you. I apologize for intruding." He excused himself quickly, bowing politely before turning to head back inside.
Helena laughed, shaking her head as she dodged his attempted bite. "You're awful.." She teased, linking her arm with his as they entered the mine, unable to help but feel nervous.

"I'd rather not.. I'm sure if I ask they'll bring me back to the castle and confine me to my room. And then there will be no more fun adventures." She sighed.

To be honest, Aelia was completely zoned out. She didn't even realize the Prince was their either until she heard his voice. Her bright blue eyes looking up towards him as she realized that he had come outside as well. "Oh, Theo..." She murmured quietly, then frowned slightly as he turned to leave her.

"N-no wait," Aelia said quietly, reaching out to gently grab his sleeve. "Want to sit with me for a while?" She asked, her voice quiet.

    --

Reaching into his pocket, Orion pulled out a small crystal that started to glow with light as they entered the darkness. "I'm sure they'd look to me for instructions before dragging you back to the castle," Orion explained as he looked along the walls of the mine as they walked along.

"Oh, cool at that." He said as he stopped walking for a moment and pointed at some small eyes that were looking at them. "A bat!" Orion grinned, thinking it was so cool.

Theodore paused when she grabbed his arm, looking back at her with a small frown. "I don't want to intrude, Princess.." He murmured softly, slowly turning back to look at her. "But, yes. I can sit with you if you would like." He agreed, moving to take a seat on the bench next to her, although he kept his distance.
Helena blinked in surprise when he pulled out the crystal, but smiled a bit as she looked up at him. "And you'd let them drag me back?" She asked, giving his arm a little squeeze before following where he pointed.

She didn't mind the the bat, thinking it rather cute, although when it suddenly flew off the wall and fluttered around them she shrieked, clinging to his arm as she tucked her head into his shoulder.

"It's not intruding if someone asks you to join them, Theo," Aelia said quietly, doing her best to hide the small smile that appeared on her lips as he agreed to sit with her. Albeit, he was sitting away from her, but, still. He was outside with her.

"I'm sorry for being rude earlier." She said quietly. "It wasn't my place. I've just got a lot on my mind." She added on, her gaze looking out at the city that she could see from her spot.

    --

"Well, it'd depend on how I feel." He teased as he gave her a small grin. Then looked back towards the bat once more. "Fascinating." He murmured as the bat moved to fly around them. Orion moving a little bit so that the bat didn't run into either him or Helena.

"What? The bat scare you?" Orion teased as he looked down at the scared Helena. He chuckled quietly as the animal moved to fly deeper into the cave. "It's gone now, you can relax." He assured her.

Theodore shook his head at her apology, frowning as he looked at her. "No, it's not your fault, there's no reason to apologize." He said. "I shouldn't have answered the way I did, I should have put more thought into the matter." He apologized, looking over at her.
Helena shook her head a little as he teased her about the bat scaring her, keeping her face tucked into his shoulder for a few moments longer before she looked up nervously, sighing shakily as she looked around with a small frown.

"I'm sorry... When I was young and in foster care, my foster mother locked me in a closet after I broke a dish and there was a bat.." She frowned as she spoke, clearing her throat awkwardly before pulling away from him. "We should keep going."

"A simple I don't know would have sufficed," Aelia explained, her lips moving into a small frown as she scooted a little bit closer to Theo. "I do feel like I need to apologize though, I acted like such a child." Her lips moved into a deeper frown at the situation. "Just, please don't hate me." She murmured quietly.

    --

Listening to Helena, Orion sudden;y felt like such a jerk. Then again, he didn't know much about her life, to begin with so he didn't know. "I'm sorry." He murmured as he moved to wrap his arm around her waist. Holding her to him as she pulled away from his side. "I'm sorry for teasing." He repeated, adding what he was sorry for.

"Are you sure you're alright to keep going?"He asked, making sure he wasn't forcing Helena to do something she didn't want to do.

Theodore smiled a little, offering the girl his hand. "I didn't want to lie to you.. That's not the polite thing to do, and I thought you would prefer the truth." He explained a bit. "I'm sorry for not putting it more delicately." When she took his hand he gave it a gentle squeeze. "To be honest, I'm dont enjoy the idea of marrying someone because my father believes it to be advantageous."

    [Iine]

Helena frowned when he suddenly pulled her back by her waist, blushing as she looked up at him. She shook her head a little when he apologized. "Its not your fault Orion. You didn't know.." she murmured, offering him a small smile. "Of course I want to keep going. I want to see the demons that will steal my soul." She teased.

Lia gently bit her bottom lip as she listened to Theo. She gently took his hand as she glanced towards his dark eyes. Her feeling of worry slowly going away as he was being his normal caring self with her once more. "You want to marry someone for love, not because you have to, right?" She asked, a small smile playing on her lips.

"I do too." She admitted. "That's why I was nervous about an arrangement. I don't want to be with someone who wouldn't care about me."

    --

Orion gave Helena a small look for a moment more. Not really sure if he should trust her on being okay. After a few more moments though, he couldn't fight her and just sighed as he nodded his head in agreement. "Alright." He murmured and moved his hand from her waist and offered her his arm once more.

"Let's go and see what kind of dark demons we can find down here." He murmured, keeping his voice quiet so that they didn't disturb any more bats.

Theodore smiled a little, nodding. "Yes, exactly... My father thinks it's a silly idea, especially considering he didn't marry for love." He explained, looking out over the city as the sun began to set on the horizon. "But we can't always get what we want." He sighed.
Helena blushed a bit as his hand lingered on her waist, although she gladly took his arm when he offered it to her, offering him a small smile. "I like demons..." She murmured, keeping close as they headed further into the mines. "Where are we going..?"
