Adelina sighed quietly, adjusting her bag over her shoulder before she offered Una a look. “This should be fun,” she muttered dryly, though she was obviously doubtful of that being the case at all. They’d moved around so much already that nothing even felt new anymore and they didn’t even bother to make connections because what was the point? They’d just be leaving again. Rolling her eyes with her thoughts, she made her way into their homeroom, a class the two shared, and it was their first day, but Adelina was at least grateful she had Una there to face the day with her, so she wasn’t completely alone. Weaving through the desks, she found a few seats in the back for herself and Una, though they were two of the first students there anyways, so hopefully there wouldn’t be any problems.

Michael grinned as he threw his arm around Luke’s shoulder at the latter’s locker. “You know what I think?” he mentioned, arching a brow, “I think today’s gonna be a good day.” And he didn’t know why he felt that way, but something just felt right today, he had a good vibe and he planned to go with it, certain that he would refuse to let anything ruin his good mood. Looking around, he saw the hallways emptying and he shifted, pulling back from his friend. “Alright, let’s get to class before things get too crazy.” Grinning jokingly, he shifted, turning to lead the way to homeroom, certain Luke was following, but not all that bothered if he wasn’t. Slipping into the room, he waved to a few of the other people he knew but he paused, blinking when he saw a pair of girls he didn’t recognize, his gaze automatically drifting to one, her eyes capturing his in a way he couldn’t explain. Moving over, he sat in his normal desk, which happened to be situated behind hers, and he grinned. “Hey there,” he greeted, leaning forward a bit, “I'm Michael." His grin broadened. "Are you new?”

Luke looked to Michael in amusement as his best friend spoke, shrugging Michael's arm off his shoulders with a grin. "Yeah?" He asked, his grin broadening. "You said that last Monday and you spilled your lunch all down yourself." He teased, shutting his locker. But when Michael led the way to home room, Luke followed, running a hand through his unkempt hair, waving to a few of their friends with a grin. Still, he couldn't help but study the students - one of Luke's biggest hobbies was people watching, and it was a large part of him because he learned so much without even speaking a word. Still, he grinned as he saw two new students, and his gaze drifted to the beauty sat at the desk in front of his. Shifting to take his seat, Luke relaxed. "Hiya," he spoke to the girl in front of him, still reclined in his chair. "You must be new, haven't seen you before." He grinned with that - he'd remember a beauty like her. "I'm Luke."

Una offered Adelina a sympathetic smile, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear as she sat at the desk beside her sister; and although the two weren't connected by blood, Una couldn't ask for a better sister, especially at that moment. "I know, right?" She scrubbed a hand over her face, taking in the surroundings of the homeroom class, and she couldn't help but roll her eyes bitterly as students spoke among themselves. "Hey, the upside? We'll be out of here soon." She frowned with the thought, but paused as she heard someone speak from behind her. Turning in her chair, Una studied Michael and scoffed a little. "What do you think?" She asked dryly, the walls she had spent so long building instantly going up. although she couldn't deny the boy, Michael, was gorgeous - a smile that could light up the whole of New York, and eyes that couldn't be compared to anything because they were that beautiful. Turning to face the front once more, Una frowned, her discomfort growing.

Michael rolled his eyes playfully to his friend. “Don’t ruin my good mood,” he joked lightly, though his focus was easily refocused on the girl in front of him, and he blinked several times, mildly thrown off and caught off guard by her response, but he didn’t let that dissuade him from trying to talk to this girl. “Well, it’s nice to meet you, new girl,” he told her with a small grin. “Do you need a tour around the school or anything? I wouldn’t mind helping out.” And, maybe, if he could get her to let him spend some time with her, he could get her to actually talk to him - and maybe he could even learn her name, because he was definitely already curious about her.

Adelina offered an amused look to Una when she heard her words and she nodded - it was their last year, so either they’d graduate here or they’d end up moving again within the next few months. “As usual,” she mentioned quietly, though she shrugged and leaned back in her seat. Hearing somebody talk to her, she frowned slightly, turning a bit to see who was talking to her, and, while this guy was quite possibly the most gorgeous guy she’d ever seen, she knew better than to bother getting close. “Well, Luke, don’t bother. New or not, I’m not interested in making friends.” Turning back to face ahead, she settled her gaze on the board.

Una ignored Michael completely, focusing on the front of the class instead, not wanting to engage in a conversation with him. He was gorgeous, and she could swear that she could listen to him speak all day, but she couldn't put herself in the firing line of getting hurt, because she knew, if she even attempted to get close to Michael, she would be ripped away and she'd never see him again. It had happened so many times before, and it never got any easier, so the easiest option was to be a bitch so people were put off by her presence all together. Running a hand through her ponytail, Una exhaled, keeping her head down.

Luke pouted slightly with Adelina's words. "Well, why not?" He asked with curiosity. "Don't you think now's the best time?" He asked with a grin. "Can I, at least, ask your name?" He grinned. "Or offer you a tour of the school?" He watched the back of her though, as Adelina turned to face the front once more, wondering if she knew that her defensiveness fuelled Luke's curiosity even further than she had probably wanted, but Luke could never ignore things like this. Leaning back into his chair, Luke shot Michael an amused expression, listening for the teacher to take roll so he could catch her name that way, instead.

Michael pouted slightly when Una ignored him, and he leaned forward a bit. “Come on, wouldn’t it be best to start your first day at your new school on a high note?” he asked quietly, just wanting to talk to her, wanting to get to know her, because she already seemed like she was the most incredibly being to ever exist. He wondered idly why she was so closed off, so distant, and he wanted to fix that, wanted her to see that he could be trusted, if she would give him the chance.

Adelina rolled her eyes slightly as she listened to Luke. “No, no, and no,” she said simply but focused ahead, not wanting to miss out on anything, trying to keep her attention maintained on the class. When the teacher called her name, she only offered a raised hand in response, but she really just wanted to get out of the school already, she wanted out of this whole situation.

Although Una was determined to keep her focus ahead, Michael's persistance was proving the task to be too difficult, but she couldn't allow herself to open up, she couldn't face that sort of pain again. Shifting anxiously with the thought, Una lifted her hand as the teacher called her name, playing with a stray strand of dark hair. "Michael," she started, not bothering to turn around. "Leave me alone." She warned, wanting to get out of the situation as quickly as she could, wanting the school day to end so she and Adelina could head home.

Luke looked on in astonishment as Adelina - as he'd learned from attendance; a beautiful name to suit a beautiful girl - shot him down three times, and as amused as Luke found himself, he wondered why Adelina was so guarded, and what had made her this way. Frowning, Luke watched the girl closely. "Adelina," he leaned forward. "At least let me walk you to your first class." Luke insisted, knowing he had to remain so to keep her attention. "I won't hurt you, I promise." Biting on his bottom lip, Luke leaned down to grab a piece of paper from his binder, writing his number down before leaning to rest it on Adelina's desk, wanting her to know he was serious and that he wouldn't stop until she accepted.

Michael arched a brow when he saw the girl raise her hand when the name Una was called, and he watched her for a long time. At least he knew her name now. “Una,” he called quietly, leaning forward, “Look, I’m not trying to cause any problems for you or anything like that. I just wanna help, try to be your friend, try to make sure you don’t feel alone. I promise.”

Adelina paused when she heard Luke say her name, and she peered over at him, surprised, watching him. “Persistent, aren’t you?” she asked eventually, making a slight face, though she eventually sighed, relenting. “Fine.” Taking the paper from her desk, she stuffed it into her pocket for now, not wanting to give Luke any further satisfaction.
