Liviana listened quietly to the same lecture she was all too used to hearing - the constant comparison between herself and Elena always left a bitter taste in her mouth, but she refused to change who she was or how she acted. “I’m sure your perverted employees and co-workers would enjoy the sight, father,” she offered with a forced smile, though it fell into a small smirk, because, regardless of whether her father liked her outfit - a transparent shirt that showed off her cute, lacy bralet, and a pair of ripped skinny jeans with fishnet leggings underneath, - or not, she wasn’t going to change. Waving goodbye to her parents mock-cheerfully, she rolled her eyes slightly. “Honestly,” she muttered to herself before looking to Elena when she heard her sister’s question. “Couldn’t be better. Why do you ask?”
Michael watched the view around him for a long moment, blowing out a low whistle. “Did you not do your research on these people before taking up this job?” he asked with amusement, looking to his friend. While he hadn’t taken up a job with his friend for this situation, he’d tagged along mostly to see what exactly was gonna happen. Besides, he figured he could take the opportunity to tease Luke a bit later on, always enjoying picking on his friend when he could. Shrugging the thought aside, he grinned at his friend. “I’m sure you’ll do just fine. Maybe. Or maybe you’ll be teaching a hyperactive six year old and you won’t get anything done because they’d rather eat cake.” He smirked teasingly with the thought, but nodded. “Ready to see you try to be teacher? I’ve been waiting for this day for a week. Of course I’m ready.” A grin spreading across his face, he moved to climb out of the car and peered around, taking in the sight of the area a little longer, amazed by it. “I’m gonna get a place like this one day,” he joked lightly, though he didn’t really have any intentions of doing so - at least not alone, anyways. That would be too lonely.
Thomas scowled as he took in the sight of his daughter’s outfit, shaking his head in dismay. “That outfit is ridiculous - not only is it a disgrace, but it’s also an embarrassment to this family. If anybody saw you in those clothes, everybody would think the worst of you
and of this family,” he told Penelope with a deep frown, “You could at least have a little more respect for yourself and this family. You could be more proper like your sister, make us proud, but instead, you decide to act like
this.” Shaking his head, he straightened out his clothes, his frustration with the situation making him feel self-conscious that the stress would ruin his appearance. “I expect you to change into something more appropriate before your music teacher arrives. And do
not embarrass this family, do as you’re told, do your lessons properly. We’ll be back soon and I expect to hear a good report from Celeste and from your tutor.” He frowned deeply, watching her, before he and his wife turned to leave.
Celeste smiled down at Dahlia, her Siamese kitten, as she played her flute gently, enjoying seeing how content the kitten seemed. She paused in her playing, though, when she heard the commotion in the other room. Her brows furrowing, she listened quietly but sighed quietly. She hated it when her parents compared Penny to her, because Penny deserved to be her own person - and she worried that the constant comparison would lower Penny’s self-esteem in some way. Moving to carefully place her flute down, she picked Dahlia up, stroking the kitten’s fur as she headed to where her parents and Penny were. When her parents came over to say their goodbyes, kissing her forehead, she offered a weak smile. “She’s still a teenager,” she reminded gently, “What you say can affect her negatively, rather than positively.” She nodded, though, as they left. “Have a safe drive.” Sighing out, she looked to Penny as she offered a smile and made her way over. “You doing okay?” she asked with concern, “Don’t let what they say get to you. They’re just… Strict… And proud. They do love you, though.”
Calum peered down at his phone for a moment to check the address after Ashton questioned it and he scrolled through the messages for a moment before nodding. “Yeah, this is the right address,” he confirmed, lifting his gaze to take in the sight of everything with surprise. “I mean, they’re paying a good sum of money for this, but I wasn’t really expecting anything like
this.” And, he’d already been nervous about teaching somebody how to play the piano, but seeing this place just made his nerves sky rocket, because what would happen if he screwed up? It was such a great opportunity and he didn’t want to ruin it, but he could feel his anxiety bubble up within him and he cleared his throat before shaking his head to rid his mind of his thoughts. “Oh, don’t tell me you’re going to bail on me to go try to bareback the horses.” He made a joking face at his friends, mostly trying to ease his own thoughts, but he shifted to climb out of the car, straightening his clothes out for a moment. “Right, yeah, let’s go.” He nodded slowly, staring at the large house for a long moment before swallowing his courage and heading up to the door to ring the doorbell.
