Amirah smiled as she opened the door to her apartment - she had been looking forward to this moment all day. Amirah always hated leaving for work in the mornings, because Ruby would always cry, and the sound and sight alone was enough to make the single mother never go to her boring office job again. But, it paid the bills, it kept a roof over their heads and food in Ruby's belly, and that's all Amirah ever cared for. Seeing her neighbour, Joyce, in the kitchen, Amirah smiled, knowing Ruby was in the living room, watching her usual cartoons. "Thanks for looking after Ruby, Joyce, how much do I owe you?" She asked, offering the woman a kind smile. Ruby was a good girl, Amirah knew that, but Joyce always stepped in to help when Amirah was struggling. "Ruby!" She called with a grin, excited to see her baby girl. "Are we going to see Santa, or not?" She teased.
Luke scrubbed a hand over his face tiredly as he looked at the sheet of lyrics, placed carefully at the table in the center of the room. He, Calum, Michael and Ashton had gotten a good song written in the past hour, and it felt good, but it was tiring. "I could sleep for a week after that, honestly." He grinned, despite himself. Writing was a hobby the band shared, and this song was a guaranteed hit - at least, Luke hoped so. "If anyone destroys that, I'm throwing you in the nearest volcano." He warned, narrowing his eyes at his bandmates, standing from the armchair to grab a Red Bull. He'd need it for the drive home. It wasn't that much of a drive, but still, Luke was afraid of his exhaustion overtaking him. Cracking it open and taking a long gulp, Luke set the tin down again. "Can I leave now? Petunia needs feeding."
