Luke sang Meet You There loudly in the kitchen as he gathered some ingredients. If it was one thing Luke enjoyed doing, when the opportunity presented itself, it was cooking. It made such a refreshing change from the usual tour food - and it gave him the opportunity to spoil Shiloh, who usually did the things like this when he was away. Luke grinned as Petunia approached him, feeding her a quick scrap before Shiloh came downstairs - she'd been feeling a little sick, and Luke was putting together some homemade chicken soup, a recipe his mother used when he and his brothers were feeling queasy as kids. "Are you okay, babe?" He called with a grin, resisting the urge to dance his way around the kitchen as he noticed Shiloh was taking a while.

Khloe didn't know how to approach Calum about this whole thing. She'd been dealing with familiar symptoms she'd had the previous year - a missed period, nausea and constant mood swings. She frowned with the thought, wondering if she could be pregnant again. She wasn't sure if she would be happy with a positive result, especially after the last time. Toying with her lower lip, Khloe sighed out as she walked into the living room, where Calum was practising his bass, writing down something on a piece of paper every so often - he must of had an idea for a song. "Hey, babe." She cleared her throat, trying to rid herself of the worry. "Can we talk for a sec?" She sat beside him, admiring his bass. It always looked so good in his hands.

Shiloh could feel a sense of anxiety bubble up within her as her mind ran over the symptoms she was going through, because it felt like deja vu, and she feared that, if she was right, history would repeat, and she wasn’t sure she could handle another loss like that. Swallowing hard, her hand subconsciously rested over her stomach, the nausea getting to her, but also the concern, the anxiety enough to make her eyes water a bit. She wasn’t entirely sure how to talk to Luke about her suspicions, because she knew the entire thing had affected him as badly as it had affected her, it’d torn them apart for a while last time. Wiping at her eyes, she breathed out quietly before she made her way downstairs when she heard Luke’s voice and, when she got to the kitchen, she watched him for a moment. “I, uh, I don’t know,” she murmured eventually, shifting a little uncomfortably before she sat down on a stool by the counter. “I think we need to talk, though, because I kind of have a suspicion of what it is and I just…” She chewed on her lip nervously and ducked her head, frowning to herself, because she hated being this nervous and anxious, but she really couldn’t help it in this situation.

Calum had been quietly strumming his bass, writing down the chords and working on a few lyrics with Khloe in mind, unable to help it, because he adored her so much and he loved ensuring that she knew that. After everything they’d went through the year before, he knew that she deserved to know how loved she was, now more than ever, and he fully intended to never let her forget it. He knew she hadn’t been feeling well the past few days and he wanted to suggest going to a Doctor soon if the problems persisted, because he hated seeing Khloe sick, only wanting her to be healthy and happy, but he also wanted to do whatever he could to help her feel better, which was part of why he was working on a song now, figuring it could be a song just for her, and, if he finished it tonight, he could play it to her before she slept. He grinned with the thought, but he was broken out of his thoughts when he heard Khloe clear her throat. Peering over, he blinked at how meek she sounded. “Hey, gorgeous,” he murmured, offering a small smile and, when she sat down by him, he set his bass aside and shifted to gently pull her onto his lap. “Of course we can. What’s going on? Are you feeling okay?”

Hearing Shiloh enter the kitchen, Luke paused when he noticed that looked like she was on the verge of tears. Feeling his heart swell with concern, Luke put the heat of the stove down and made his way over to where she perched herself on the stool. "Baby?" He asked with concern, taking her hands in his as he crouched in front of her. The concern he felt was almost overshadowed by the love he felt for the beautiful woman sat in front of him. Shiloh had always been the one, Luke knew this for a damn fact. Listening to her words, Luke peered up to her carefully, toying with his lower lip as she ducked her head. "What is it, love?" He asked, reaching a hand to cup her cheek gently, running his thumb over her skin. "Whatever it is, babe, we're in this together." He told her with honesty, and god dammit, after everything that had happened the previous year, he meant it. He almost let her slip through his fingers, and he swore, no matter the heartache that came their way, he would never let that happen again. He loved her so much, he never wanted to let her go.

Khloe ran through the pros and cons that were racing through her mind. Should she tell Calum about her suspicion? The last thing she wanted was for him to worry about her constantly, but he needed to know, in case history did repeat itself. Coming out of her thoughts when Calum spoke, Khloe exhaled nervously, but relished in the comfort Calum's voice provided. He was something beautiful, and Khloe considered herself lucky that he was hers to begin with. When he pulled her onto his lap, Khloe leaned to kiss Calum's temple. "Uh," she paused for a moment, trying to figure out how to tell him her concerns. She decided that coming right out and telling him was probably the better option, and sighing, Khloe shifted so she could look at Calum. "I -" she paused, her voice thick with tears unshed. "Calum, I - I've missed my period." She told him anxiously. "And I think I might be pregnant." She looked down then, as a few tears escaped, afraid of his reaction.

Shiloh chewed on her lip nervously when Luke made his way over and she dropped her gaze to their hands when he took hers and she tried to ground herself using that contact, because Luke was always her saving grace, even in the worst of times, even when she felt like her world was crashing around her. When she heard him speak again, she could feel her tears breaking free, despite how much she tried to force them away, and she leaned into his touch when she registered the feeling of his hand against her cheek. “I, um,” she murmured quietly, clearing her throat to try to force away the crack in her voice, “I just, um… I was feeling nauseous and - and it made me worry, so I tried to remember when my period was supposed to happen, and I missed it and…” She chewed on her lip again, lifting her gaze to his for just a moment before she quickly lifted her hand to swipe at her tears. “And one plus one equals two... And I’m worried that the two in the equation is that I’m pregnant again.” And she hated that she felt like she was rambling, but she hated even more that she had to drop this concern on Luke’s shoulders in the first place, because she was worried about how he would react - the last thing she wanted was for him to worry or stress about her, he’d done enough of that the previous year and she never wanted to put him through that again. But she knew he at least deserved to know and she didn’t want to lie to him or hide anything from him, ever, because he was the one person she loved with all of her heart, and the thought of making things hard for him hurt.

Calum’s gaze ran over Khloe’s features, his expression softening when he noticed that, for a bit, she seemed to be lost in her own thought, and he wondered what he could do to help her, to chase away whatever anxieties were plaguing her mind. When he felt her kiss his temple, he held her closer to himself, rubbing her back gently as he waited patiently, never wanting to rush her to do anything, never wanting her to feel like she had to do anything. She meant the world to him - more than that, even, - and he only wanted her happiness. After everything they’d gone through the previous year, nobody in the world deserved that happiness more than Khloe did. When she began to speak, his heart clenched tightly when he heard the pain in her voice, and he held her closer while he waited. After she managed to get the words out, he felt his heart slow to a near stop, and he stared with surprise. A huge part of him wanted to be happy, recalling how happy he’d been the last time she’d brought this news to him, how happy they had both been. But that happiness was so quickly overshadowed by the pain of the loss they’d faced and his worry for her, because she’d almost died the last time and he was terrified of losing her. “Hey, hey,” he murmured quietly, breaking his silence, his heart breaking when he saw the tears, and he reached his hand up to cup her face, brushing the tears away gently, though he could feel tears burning his own eyes. “How about I go get a pregnancy test, yeah? And, if… If it turns up positive, then we’ll get straight to setting up a doctor’s appointment, we’ll figure it out - and, if everything’s going well so far, then we’ll just… We’ll have you rest and relax, no stressing out, okay?” He offered a weak smile, hoping to encourage her, and he leaned to press a kiss to her forehead gently. “Maybe everything will be alright this time.”

Luke frowned when he saw tears rolling down Shiloh's cheeks, his thumb gently swiping them away. "Sweetheart, whatever this is, it's okay." Luke promised, his blue eyes studying her features carefully, as if the sadness behind her eyes would tell him what was wrong. Still, Luke waited patiently, not wanting to rush Shiloh, wanting her to process her emotions in a healthy way. Hearing her voice crack though, Luke toyed with his lip in worry. Luke blinked though, when Shiloh said she'd missed her period. Blinking in surprise, Luke listened to every word carefully, but nodded. "Okay," he exhaled anxiously, a huge part of him wanting to jump for joy, but remembering the Hell they went through with the last pregnancy, which resulted in losing the baby and almost losing Shiloh, Luke didn't even realise his own tears had began falling. "Holy shit, babe, this is -" he took a breath, remembering Shiloh needed him to be the strong one. "Amazing and scary." He finished. "How about this." Luke suggested with a weak smile. "I'll go and get a pregnancy test, you stay here and cuddle with Petunia. If it comes out positive, we can call a Doctor, get some things arranged." Luke offered, his grin a little wider with the thought. Maybe fate would be kinder to them this time. "And then, you're gonna relax. No stressing, no tears, okay, baby? We're gonna get through this together, no matter what. I love you so much." Luke reminded Shiloh, pressing his lips to hers gently.

Khloe noticed Calum's surprise stare and she tried not to let her fear win, but the tears were something that couldn't be stopped, and if it was one thing Khloe learned from counselling, it was to be clear with your emotions to one another, and she wanted Calum to know how she felt - but she wanted to know how he felt, too. They had to go through this together. When Calum spoke, breaking the silence, Khloe sniffled, almost grateful for the touch of Calum's hand against her cheek, leaning into his hand. Seeing tears well up in Calum's eyes, Khloe felt her own anxiety grow further, and she whimpered slightly, shifting to hide her face into his raven hair. "I'm so scared, Cal." She admitted, but when he spoke about getting a pregnancy test, Khloe admired how Calum kept his calm, how he was the one to remain collected, even when he was just as terrified as she was. Sighing out, Khloe listened to Calum, word by word, nodding into his hair. "Okay." She tried to collect herself, her thoughts, her fears, before leaning to press a kiss to Calum's forehead in return. "I love you, no matter the result, okay? Just... remember that, okay?"

Shiloh sniffled quietly as she listened to Luke, her heart aching. She wanted to be happy and hopeful, she wanted to think about all the possibilities of what this new pregnancy could become, but all that weighed on her mind was the loss that came with the miscarriage. Still, she nodded slightly as she listened to Luke, wanting to believe him, wanting to be hopeful, wanting to try to look on the bright side, for hers and Luke’s sake. “Okay… Okay, yeah,” she murmured quietly, pressing her forehead to his after receiving Luke’s kiss, her eyes closing as she tried not to cry. “I love you, too, Luke.”

Calum’s expression softened, his heart breaking and aching for Khloe upon hearing her admit to being scared and he held her closer to himself, running his fingers through her hair gently. “I know, baby,” he murmured gently, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “I know. But, we’ll get through it together - like we get through everything together, like we’ll always get through everything together.” And, he would be there for her through it all, every step of the way, for the rest of their lives, regardless of whether the pregnancy test came back positive or not. “I love you, too. More than anything.” He pressed a kiss to her forehead, running his fingers through her hair gently. “I’ll go get that test and be back before you know it, okay?”

Luke gently lifted his large hands to cradle Shiloh's face, pressing a sweet kiss to the tip of her nose. "Go and grab Petunia," Luke murmured. "She'll keep you company while I'm gone." He smiled with his own suggestion, because there was nothing that he loved more than the sight of his two girls cuddled up together. Reluctantly pulling away from Shiloh, Luke leaned to press another kiss to the top of Shiloh's head. "I love you." Luke promised - and god, he never meant anything more. Shiloh was what kept Luke grounded, and he had so much to thank the beauty for. Grabbing his car keys, Luke was quick to leave the house they shared, knowing he had a mission to complete for the sake of his sanity - and Shiloh's.

Khloe closed her eyes in an attempt to calm herself as Calum's fingers ran through her hair, and as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head, Khloe sniffled, nuzzling further into Calum. "Oh god, Cal," Khloe murmured softly. "I - I can't do this. Not again." Khloe whispered, her voice breaking as she spoke. "I'm so fucking scared, I can't." Khloe squeezed her eyes shut, but as Calum continued to reassure her that they'd get through anything together, Khloe realised he was right. Taking a moment to soothe herself with the feeling of Calum's chest rising and falling with each breath, Khloe sighed heavily. "Okay..." Khloe gazed up to Calum, reaching to cup his cheek. "Please hurry."

Shiloh’s eyes ran over Luke’s features as she tried to calm down, but she offered a small nod. “O… Okay,” she murmured quietly, “I’ll… See you when you get back.” The thought drove her nerves through the ceiling, though, because she knew when he got back, she’d have to take a pregnancy test, and she wasn’t even sure what she was hoping for, her anxieties so high from what happened before. Still, she sniffled and nodded. “I love you, too,” she whispered, swallowing, and after Luke left, she headed into the bedroom with Petunia to wait for Luke and cuddle.

Calum felt his heart breaking as he listened to Khloe, and he held her close, rubbing her back gently. “Everything’s gonna be fine, sweetheart,” he promised quietly, “I’ll be right here with you through it all. Always.” He pressed another kiss to the top of her head before he pulled back. “Now, you just relax, okay? I’ll be back before you know it.” And, despite the turmoil and concern he felt, he put on a brave face, wanting to ensure Khloe didn’t panic, wanting her to be okay while he was gone. “I love you.” He pressed a kiss to her forehead, watching her for a moment, before he grabbed his keys and headed out, wanting to get to the store and get back as quickly as he could.
