Jessie chuckled. "Well sure you could get a tailor if you wanted to tell the entire town you are loaded. Why don't you just stop into one of the near by stores," Jessie gestured around them. "and pick something out." Jessie smiled as he asked her to show him around "I guess it is only fair since I am asking you for a tour too." she chuckled. "Okay so I have only been here like a week or so. I kind of lost track of how many days. I kind of do that when I am starting... well while writing my books, no big. Anyways this is the main strip. Restaurants and shops of all kinds, mostly the more tourist section a long with great date night spots and family outings. The best place to mingle and see people or get lost in the crowd depending. Over on that side of town," She pointed towards the coast. "You have the cliffs. Great for hiking and nature seeing or to really get as far from people as you can. To the other side you are starting towards the hills over with the closest city is like half a days drive away." She was pointing again moving on to the other side of town. "Behind us there is the business side of town like the post office and other official buildings, boring but important things. Most people work that way so if you happen to be looking for a day job." she shrugged pointing back towards his house. "Past your house is where everyone pretty much lives. The school is over there and the firehouse. There are cute little parks and just before you hit more hills there is a pretty stretch of cemetery if you are looking for that kind of family legacy." she smiled. "And that is the basics but if you are wanting me to show you more we're gonna have to spend a lot more time together first." she teased.

He said yes to help and she grinned. "Isn't that the fun of doing a project getting to know the person you are doing it with? Besides other than the emend green space between your place and the suburbs I could pretty much run to down town and be safe if you were thinking anything mischievous." she teased and turned walking backwards as the crowds thinned. "So what do you say want to start getting to know each other by starting with a new set of cloths?" she asked nodding to the mens clothing shop next to her.

Viktor listened closely as she described the layout of the town, and showed him around. He kept close to her, enjoying the sound of her heart beating. It had been awhile since he'd been around such a calm heart beat. He looked at her, "I suppose you're right, maybe I should just buy something from the store," he said.

He followed her into the men's clothes shop, and began looking around. He looked over at her, "I promise you don't have much to fear from me," he said slyly. He found a more modern outfit on one of the racks. "How about this?" he asked, once she replied he decided to try it on. He came out of the fitting room in the tee shirt, to show her, forgetting for a moment about the war wounds, that covered one of his arms.

Jessie smiled and walked into the store with him. He seemed to want her opinion. It was odd shopping with a man she didn't know for cloths. They looked around and she didn't think there was much he could pick up here that would not work on him. He asked about one and she nodded. "That's a good one." she said and chuckled. "I have a feeling you are dangerous when you want to be." she said and waited until he came out of the fitting room. She smiled. "Yes that looks very nice." she said the dark blue lighting up his eyes. She bit her lip and looked him over. she stepped forward and ran her fingers gently down the scar. She didn't know how someone got a scar like this but it didn't detract from how handsome he was. She paused and walked away coming back with a leather jacket. "Put that on." she said and watched as he put it on. She grinned. "Perfect." she said and smiled. She liked how he looked in jeans too. "A few jeans, a couple jackets and some different colored shirts and you have an entire wardrobe." she smiled.

Viktor chuckled softly, "I can be dangerous, if that's what a situation calls for," he admitted. He smiled when she said it looked nice, pausing for a moment as she ran his fingers over his scars, which he'd forgotten about. He listened to her advice as she picked out outfits, he didn't really have experience with this centuries fashion.

He took the items up to the counter and paid for them. He looked at Jessie, 'thanks for helping, come on help me carry these back to mine?" he asked her. He wanted to get her alone again, as well as get out of a place so full of beating hearts.

Jessie smiled as he finished getting a few other things and asked her to come with him to drop off his cloths. She smiled. "Sure as long as I can come inside." she said and grinning. It was a chance to be invited into the house again. It was something she was looking forward to for sure.

They started to walk out of downtown and she grinned as they walked. "So what brought you back to Pembroke?" She asked him curiously. He and his family had been gone a long time from Pembroke. Jessie grinned enjoying this walk with him.

Viktor nodded softly, "of course, you can come inside, I was raised with better manners than to leave you waiting outside," he commented. He picked up the bags of clothes, that he'd purchased and followed her outside.

He looked around the streets, glad to see them fairly empty. He thought for a moment when she asked why he came back, "I just thought I should check on the place, since it's still owned by the family," he said lightly. He paused, "To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised that the town hadn't repossessed the place, and knocked it down to subdivide the estate," he said. The manor built on a grounds that could easily fit six or more normal houses. It was designed so that the Pembrokes, wouldn't be effected by the scent of blood, and the thumping of hearts from the village.

Jessie smiled and walked with him. As they left the store she looked around seeing most people were off the streets now and she and Viktor would have a quiet walk back to his place. She grinned as they started down the road. She listened to him as he wandered her question. She chuckled. "The people of this town are really different from the outside world. I's like a protected little nook. The rest of the world is going so fast. I think the people here like it this sheltered way and there is a beauty in that." she said as they walked. They headed down the the street until they got to the fence that surrounded his place. She followed him up to the front of the house marveling at the beauty of the house even from the outside.

Viktor nodded lightly as they spoke while walking, "Yeah that is a good thing, it's nice and calm here," he said softly. He led her up to his place through the overgrown garden. He walked up to the door, "the place is several hundred years old, sturdly built, I believe the original Pembroke's had fled from an approaching war, so they built the estate to withstand raids," he explained to her gently.

He sighed softly, as a wind blew across the estate, showering him in the scent of her. His fangs descended momentarily as his bodies ever present need to feed, over powered his will, for a moment. He turned away from her, and quickly headed inside, hoping she didn't notice.

Jessie smiled as he spoke of the house. She was looking around the amazing from entrance only looking back at him as he opened the door. She slipped inside with him and held her breath. There was something beautiful about this old place that took her breath away. She bit her lip and looked at Victor as he broke the spell by speaking again. "I'm sorry." she said having completely missed what he said as she breathed again stepping into the house more. It was a beautiful house with so much spirit she felt it flooding her with thoughts and stories. She wished she could just sit right here on the floor with her computer and write until the next room called to her. She sighed. "Does it still take your breath away?" she asked him looking over at him shrouded in the darkness of the room.

Viktor watched her closely, as they headed into the house. Relieved that she hadn't noticed his momentary loss of control. He was about to answer no, which was the truth, as the place lost it's awe to him a long time ago, but he caught himself. "Yes of course, it always dumbfounds me how large the place is, it was built mostly by hand you know," he informed her.

He paused and took the bags of clothes from her, "Thank you for helping with these, I'll run them upstairs, feel free to look around, I'll find you soon," he told her.

"Really?" Jessie asked a new glow shinning to the place. She couldn't imagine how long it took to build a home by hand like this. She looked over at Victor as he took the bags and she smiled. "Yeah no big." she said and watched him go up the stairs a little. She moved from the front of the house around to look at the other rooms near by. It was amazing how well the house was maintained while the heir was away. She bit her lip as she moved. Only war would drive her from a place so stunning she guessed it was the same for the Pembroke's.

Viktor quickly put his new clothes away, moving aside some of his older clothes. He sighed softly, it surprised him that he'd let a human get so close to him. He made his way back downstairs to find her, following her scent easily. He came up behind her quietly, as she looked around the next room. "So this is one of the dining rooms," he explained softly.

Jessie turned as she heard Viktor her eyes sparkling. "One of? How many dinning rooms do you need?" she chuckled. Jessie turned back towards the rooms moving slowly her hand unconsciously moving over some intricate paneling as she moved through the hall. She showed such love and appreciation for each room she visited. Jessie turned to Viktor. "What room is your favorite?" she asked him curiously.

Viktor smiled softly, "well it is a manor house," he said softly. He followed her closely, enjoying the energy that came off of her. He thought for a moment, "probably the master bedroom, to be honest," he said. He led her through to the next room, "so tell me more about yourself Jessie,' he said.

Jessie chuckled. "I don't think we are ready for me to start snooping around in the master bedrooms." she teased and kept walking smiling. He asked about her and she looked over at him a blush rising on her cheeks. "Oh me? Well I guess from an outside perspective I am pretty interesting but really I don't ever know where to start with those questions. Never been good about talking about myself." she shrugged. "You know I am a writer. An obsessive one at that but I dabble in a lot of things to make my writing more realistic, as I also use it to keep the inspiration flowing when the moment that sparked the creative flow has passed. Other that that I travel around a lot and I don't really have many people I am really close to, maybe as a result of all he traveling and obsessive hermit like writing. Seriously I could be holed up for weeks just writing only coming out when the fridge has no more substance to offer." she chuckled. "Real attractive I know." she teased again and turned to him. "I'm an open book though, so mystery to uncover, you on the other hand I can see your layers you hide so well and I want to know more." she said hoping that would transition them into him talking about himself rather than asking all kinds of questions about her she wasn't sure she knew.

Viktor chuckled softly, as she teased about the master bedrooms. He looked at her as she talked about herself, "I'm quite the same, not many friends, done some travelling," he said softly. He thought for a moment, "pretty hermitted too, to be honest," he admitted. "I wouldn't have bothered leaving the house, had you not broken in, would have pretty content to just deal with everything myself," he said.

He led her through the rest of the bottom floor, at least the open parts of it. "So what is the next book you're working on about?" he asked.

Jessie chuckled. "Broke in huh? Will I ever live that down?" she teased grinning knowing in so many ways it was true but she still would have worded it differently. Jessie chuckled listening to him talk about himself. She didn't know what he did for a living but it was her job that kept her so isolated, not that she minded but she wondered what his excuse was.

"My book?" she stopped and turned to him. "Well I write mysteries and so far I am just setting up the scene and building the mystery about the ledge I am focusing on. It could go one of two ways right now." She blushed. "I haven't even really introduced the heroine yet. The tow has been so inspiring and then this house." she turned then looked back at him once the silence grew to long and giggled. "You could say this house is my muse. I honestly thought about just sitting on the floor in the foray until either my laptop died, I ran out of coke or the inspiration dried up." she laughed and shrugged.

Viktor nodded listening closely to her. He was keeping his distance from her, struggling to hold back his animal instincts still. He smirked softly, "well, this house is certainly mystery material," he said lightly. He moved across the room to the window, looking out across the village.

He remembered helping build the place, and how they'd extended the threshold of the house out to the edge of the estate. A small fortress, for not only themselves, having left the war behind, but for the humans that had settled the village too. The town had grown so much since then.

He looked at her, "I remember when the forests covered these grounds," he commented, unthinkingly. He paused for a moment, "that is I remember reading about it," he added.

Jessie smiled as he moved across the house. He was keeping his distance from her. She didn't think when he asked her to come home with him that he would be so distant. It was an odd feeling thinking he was growing closer then watching him almost regard her like being too close was painful. She bit her lip and tilted her head as he talked about the forest. She chuckled as he talked about reading about it. "Oh yeah some books can be so engrossing it is hard to tell what actually happened to you and what happened to the character." she chuckled. "It's kind of an aspiration of mine to make a book so intense to read that it absorbs it's readers like that." she blushed lightly and bit her lip. "Well I guess I should head out. When do you want me to stop by next to help with renovations?" she asked. She wished she could stay but it was getting late and honestly the urge to write was becoming so strong.

Viktor smiled weakly, as he fought back his urges successfully. He moved closer, "yeah, if you can manage to write in that way, your book will be a best seller," he said softly. He finished leading her through the house, "whenever suits you best will be fine, I'll just be here tidying up the place," he said softly. He paused at the door, "I was a pleasure speaking with you more Jessie," he said lightly.
