Thomas frowned as he watched his wife move through the kitchen after she had finished making breakfast, surprised that she had cooked for both him and himself. He followed her out to the dining room hesitantly, still holding his cup of water. He was surprised to see how much that she had made, taking a seat once she had taken hers, before helping himself to some of the breakfast that she had prepared. "Thank you, for breakfast, Lady Clara.. You didn't have to do this." He felt he needed her to know that he didn't expect this every meal or every day, not wanting her to feel like she needed to serve him. He dug into his meal once he'd said his piece, humming a little in satisfaction at the taste.
Eleanor jumped in surprise when he spoke, turning quickly to look at him with wide eyes. She stared at him for a moment before sinking down into a curtsey and keeping her head bowed, having pieced together who he was while she was waiting for him, having realized that he was more than just a nobleman, and was actually the prince, and that she ought to be more polite to him, especially after all of the kind things he'd done for her. "Yes, it is, my lord... Thank you, for your help.. The tavern keeper has given me work, and food, and I'm very grateful." She said softly, keeping her eyes down. She'd decided it was better not to mention the tavern keeper's threats, or what many of the drunkards who came in would say to her, feeling that it was better to keep quiet than to complain too much.
